She smiled. He could feel an almost overwhelming sense of happiness from her. "You may have as many kisses as you like, my mate."
She kissed him again, only not as tentatively this time.
Basically, at this point, since their feelings are mutual, the next step is the development of an empathic bond between them which is permanent and non-reversible. So that's why he's starting to get basic impressions of her emotions.

For the ones who chose not to come back after any of the many attacks on the school. It's not a large number, but there were probably twenty or so actual casualties.

"You have nothing to worry about," she reassured. "First of all we're already bonded, and this is the permanant version, so they have a very good reason to be accepting. Secondly, I'm happy, and you treat me well, which goes a long way with my family. And third, even though you're a kobold, you're also a dragon, so they know that at least on some level it makes sense. Plus, grandma likes you, and she's by far the hardest one to win over. My dad might give you a little bit of a hard time, but that's more a general dad thing I think."

Finds the classroom oddly empty, the realizes it's still the weekend. And then there is an announcement over the PA system reminding students that there will be a memorial service for casualties of the recent string of attacks, and there will be grief counselors available afterwards for those students in need of it.
Since they're still in Ryo's house, Ephebe and Krays would not be able to hear the announcement.
Vai, having finished a rather large portion of breakfast herself, hears the PA announcement and wonders how she will fill the day. Maybe Nasima is awake. With that thought, Vai is off towards Nasima's room.
Ryu's head turns into a jackass and brays... Feels a little embrarssed and is suddenly happy for the empty room...he then heads to Nala's, to see if she was going and maybe wanted some company.
As Vai is walking towards the dorms, she is absently wandering. Turning a corner, she abrupting runs straight into Ryuzo, bouncing back and falling. Her skirt flips up embarassingly and she stands up quickly and bows."My apologies!"she says quickly, before covering her face with her hair to hide her embarrassment and running quickly away.
"Well, I have to put this sign on my door, and pack....which won't take long. Do you want to stay for the memorial service or should we just go? Ummm....did I mention that I'm not very patient?" ^.^

"Okay, that sounds like a good idea to me. And if you hang it there's no danger of it getting accidentally affected by my abilities," she agreed cheerfully, politely pretending not to have heard what he said about missing the service. She was glad she could spare him that bit of pain anyways.
"We should be able to leave soon. What about you, don't you need to pack too?"
"Why? We're going to my home. You didn't think I brought everything here, did you?" Michael says as he hangs up the sign. "What do you think, Saff, does it look crooked to you?"
"Oh. Okay...Actually, I don't own that many clothes that I could keep some at two places, so I didn't realize that you did," she admitted as she emptied all the books out of her bookbag and quickly stuffed in the rest of the few casual clothes she owned, her small toiletry kit and toys for Saffire.
"Okay, that's pretty much it. The rest of it can stay here."
"Ah, sorry, I didn't know that." Michael says sheepishly(having caught a glance of the kit) and heads for the long distance teleportation rooms.
"Where ya going?" A gruff looking dwarf asks.
"Anderail, to the west of here."
"Yeah, I remember you now. Strange for a student to not leave for two years, even during the holidays."

"Yeah, yeah." The dwarf grumbles, pointing to the circle enscribed in the ground. Once Kitty and Michael are in it, he mumbles an incantation and the next thing either of them know they are surrounded by trees with buildings literally built into them, almost like they were made while the tree was still growing.
"Yep, you count as a tourist now." Michael says, poking Kitty gently in ribs. "People are going to fall over themselves trying to get you to buy tiny little trees and wood carvings."

She laughed. "With what money? I ran out of my savings before I got to Avalon, and I've never felt right about stealing even though my abilities would have allowed me to do so easily. And this is why I was a crappy ninja," she added with a cheerful smile.

"Nothing acts like a deterrent quite like a shuriken striking the wall half and ich away without any warning...as log as you don't mind some holes in you walls," she said, laughing, as she eagerly followed him to his house. She was really looking forward to meeting his family.

On the other side of the door there is a large open room with bookshelves and pictures lining the walls, with several chairs placed about at random. Michael heads for another stairway and goes up it quietly, stopping at the second door on right. He listens for a moment, then grins. He eases the door open and peeks in side.
"He's going through my desk drawers again, looking for my cache of snacks."
Nala opens her door and then quickly closes it behind her before Ryuzo can get more than a glimpse of the clothes strewn all over.
"Um, hi. I wasn't expecting you to stop by this morning...er, I'm not quite ready yet."

After spending the rest of the day feverishly doing what triage-work he could for the injured and dying, Fei returns to his cot in the Materials and Supplies building for the much-needed solace of a few hours' sleep.

He rises before sunrise the next day to carefully practice his dawn katas, then stops by the workshop to discharge his cuffs again before returning to the warehouse for his morning duties.
A few hours later, the announcement about the memorial comes across the PA system. He finishes up his current bit of work, then cleans up and returns to the Auditorium. He stands in an out-of-the-way corner, replaying the events of yesterday again and again in his mind in an attempt to come to terms with what he did (and was unable to do) to stop the construct that harmed so many...
"Ok, I'll wait out here." He smiles. "You look beautiful, by the way..."
She blushed. "I don't know why I even bothered with all of that. This doesn't even match," she muttered, but she looked pleased.
She disappeared back into her room for a couple of minutes before opening the door again, this time wearing a more coordinated outfit. She glanced up and down the hallway nervously before waving him inside and closing the door behind him. An arctic fox peeked out from under a cashmere sweater.
"Sorry about that. I'm not trying to be mysterious. My last familiar was murdered by some of the people who were trying to get back at me. I can't really blame them, but all the same, I don't want them to know I have a new familiar. She has a secret hidey hole where she stays during the day, but she doesn't like being cooped up so much."
Nasima's eyes slowly open. She definitely heard a knock. Rising from her tatami mat, interrupting morning meditation, she pads barefoot to the door and opens it to see Vai. "Vai! Hey." She says softly. "How are you? What's going on? C'mon in. I mean, if you want." The sylph smiles and walks back into her room, leaving the door open for Vai. She sits back down in lotus position on her mat and smiles up at the dragon girl. Something is clearly different about 'Sima today, but it'd be hard to pin down what.

The mood in the cafeteria at breakfast is mostly subdued. Dennis looked around.
"Anyone seen Jiminy or Fieri since last night? For that matter the only Sunwake I see in here is the PE teacher...although she doesn't seem upset or anything. So they're probably alright....but it annoys me mightily when they go rushing off into danger without us," he grumbled.

"No, actually I'm a witch. I need a familiar to act as my spellbook," she said as she picked up clothes from where they were strewn around the room and hung them back up in the closet. "My previous familiar was an ice viper. I have to admit that a fox is considerably more warm and cuddly."
