Editor

Permanent Full-Time
Salary Exempt

Description

Be part of the team driving two of the most popular and thrilling RPGs in the world, along with a host of other exciting products. As an editor, you’ll work as part of the editing team to ensure the accurate and efficient production of roleplaying game material, fiction, and marketing copy. The position focuses on copyediting, with an emphasis on both grammar and complex house styles, but also includes the potential for developmental editing and creative copywriting.

Ours is a fun and imaginative culture made up of highly creative and intelligent people who are passionate about the products we produce. If you are an experienced editor who is responsible, diligent, and self-motivated, and you have a creative flare in your personality, please apply today!

The job is onsite at Paizo’s Redmond, Washington office.

Responsibilities and tasks vary from day to day depending on deadlines and what is most necessary for the smooth production of our assorted books and game products. The employee is not responsible for policy or style decisions, though input is often requested. Errors in judgment or an inability to edit effectively at the required pace could lead to late products, a lack of quality in products, or the estrangement of customers. Creativity is required in the editing process and in brainstorming sessions.

This is not a game development or design position. While the position requires knowledge of the Pathfinder and Starfinder roleplaying games, their campaign settings, and the wide variety of Paizo products, new rules and world canon are created by other departments—this position is focused on polishing existing prose.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Job has no supervisory responsibility.
