Hey, Capt. Wombat.

What 'telepathy' power did Opal invoke in that moment with Rena, or just doing so for story reasons?

Curious as to which Psionic power did that in her arsenal.

Cheers.

Are there ogres at the school?

Day? What is this Day of which you speak?

I've found my spleen, fought six candy colored horses, stitched the hole shut and am now FUBAR, I shall now attempt to reason with them. I doubt it'll work, but its worth a shot.

A wayward box of sharpies explodes in the treetops spraying black ink and plastic, destroying the candy horses once and for all...

Can I get a sense of how far away the mage creating this storm is?

close....underneath the clouds

Silinrul wrote:
As a Druid with an artifact tied directly to the world we live on, and who is walking outside, do I sense anything strange about this storm?

A /very/ strong mage is calling the storm.... around high 20 low 30 range... but...... it doesn't feel hostile

The stormclouds had advanced unnaturally fast...

Davids iceberg exhalation reduced the temperature to the condensation point....

*pitter patter*

(The clouds will unleash a lot of water soon... get asha inside)

In the gardens a lizard climbs up the bark of an ancient tree, the lizard's grey skin nearly indistinguishable from the iron grey sky...

Storm clouds are gathering...

Must've missed that.... saw getting out the jar but not anything's else...

Wait... what happened to the teeth? (Quite important)

Dom Waverider wrote:

"Well I'm going to let Tami know something was trying to get in the room. Since we don't know if it was just trying to watch my night activities or if it was after her. Figure it will be best to let her know." Dom then makes his way back in to the room.

Stepping in to the room. Dom looks around to make sure another didn't slip in while the other occupied them out side. Then looks to his beloved. "Tami are you ok in here?" Dom looks slightly worried for her though he didn't really think anything got in.

it was burrowing through solid stone....

Make whole works like mending, mending requires all pieces to be present

Make whole only works if you have the whole thing....

And try it

And Dave's poison immunity works?

What would it have done if we hadn't killed it?

Yea

About 2d6 con damage with DC 20 fort save for half

2d8 HP damage negated on Dc20 save

But it got an immune person so no worries

I mean, like, to the school. Why was it here?

You'll never know... you roasted it

The vine was inspired by Diablo 2 Druid's Poison Creeper

Dave groans "that... Hurt... Whatever it was, its dead now"

He holds up the piece that was in his chest

Other than the teeth... nothing is left but you feel much better

They are about 15 feet from the crater you made...

The vine is engulfed in flames, but continues to pump venom...then withers and turned to ash from the ravenous fire....

Except...

That happens all the time in every sort of type of portrayal of a character with super senses.

You can do it to Superman, Wolverine, the old tv character from the show The Sentinel, etc, etc.

not superman, but yes on occasion wolverine superman can hear radio waves, he can hear the sound made from talking quietly in someone's home... While he's in space

Post in gameplay for you...

Concentration check please... say DC 30?

It's an overreactive thing.

Like when we made Foul do the low is good reflex save.

So its a good thing to hear more than everyone else.... never bad?

I gave a tight range because only a small range in frequency can be heard without pain it wouldn't have hurt that bad without him going and sticking his face 4 inches away....

But his deafness will fade in a minute

icehawk333 wrote:

A high check should ever be a negative thing. That's just stupid.

Okay.....why is that?

We need a heal dom :)

Tybalt Baneko wrote:

The only "heightened sense" I have is scent. but, whatever.

He falls back clutching his ears that stick out of the edge of his hat.
He is prevented from catching it immediately, but the neural lace kicks in to cut off excess pain.
Dom's turn.

the reason I gave 25-35 is because too low can't hear, too high it hurts... you had too high and moved to point blank range....

David.De'Foul wrote:
He blasts it again.20d6 at that tier of damage it'd blast through the rock

And it does, with a blast of that caliber shards of stone and ice explode into the hallway, the vine shrieks in pain and twists around its unfrozen front two thirds...

Slamming its four pointed toothlike projections into Davids chest... easily piercing the stone hide of the angelic being....

this is what the PM was about

Pumping venom into him, though it's ineffective....

Dom's turn.

he's still standing up

The vine slips down into the floor and keeps moving down the hall unconcerned

then Dave moves 2-5ft to the side and even if he didn't there are rules for soft cover, which is what Tybalt would provide in that situation, but fine handwave that the characters can do nothing dave gets pissed manifests metamorphosis and quickened psionic acceleration and dives after the vine 70ft movement rate burrow.

If you step 5ft to the side you can't shoot down the hole... its maybe 5 inches around....

Diving into the ground you easily find the lengthy vine

"Tybs!"... I was supposed to do that Dave unleashes a cone of I've from his mouth 20d6 reflex save DC 38 for half if you take any damage you are then held in place for 2 rounds unless you can make an escape artist or str check at that same DC as a full round action

Going with plot/logic...

Tybalts body shields the opening and the creature is unimpeded...

Tybalt Baneko wrote:

"Not Dom. Shoulda smelled that earlier. This is here."

Was it just the smell I got or was it also the grinding?
He keeps looking around, ears swivelling, nose twitching.
1d20+33
He sees the vine out of the corner of his eye.
"Bug!"
He pounces it, teleporting to cover distance and tries to catch it.
His tail switches furiously as he paws at the wall, cat instincts in overdrive.

At that range... you teleport directly into a cone of sound... your heightened senses make the noise unbearable...

It withdraws as you writhe in pain...

it uses very high pitched echolocation

Dom Waverider wrote:
Dom's expression scrunches. He steps over to his door and calls in. "Hey babe you may not want to strip yet seems there might be a peeping tom. Not certain but something is interested in my room. And frankly your the only thing currently in there worth looking at."

The grinding stops as the vine pokes through the surface in the hall momentarily...

Everyone perception 25- 35

"I bend water at my whim. Of course I have bathed this week." Dom replied showing a slight annoyance from the question. It quickly changes to a joking expression. "Just not today."

You hear a scratching grind under you...

Tybalt smells the rot as well

David.De'Foul wrote:

From all your sensory things that reduce the dc

You smell something like Swampland.... and sense something moving through the floor....

What was the DC?
Tybalt saves his magic energy by walking, frost prints leaving tracks in the shape of his feet.

That's not quite high enough....

Tybalt Baneko wrote:

We just left Dom's room.

At what point does the vine thing happen?
Would we get the check just outside the door?

Yes, its going through the floor

The vine continues to slip through the stone...

Everyone in dom's room roll perception

"If Renkai was reading your mind without your permission, that's not okay. He might not know it's not okay. I'll talk to him about that."

"As for the other...well, I would guess it's because you're at a difficult age when a lot of things are changing. I can probably give better advice with more information. If you'd like more privacy to talk, we can go to my office...and if you don't want to talk about it now then we can talk later. Whenever you're ready, I'm here to help you."

Hew doesn't even look toward the vine missing it entirely.

You didn't see it but you heard an odd whistle noise that dissappeared in a Moment

Piercing the floor in a hallway the vine hesitates momentarily then retreats,

Anyone there roll perception

The vine sslithers through the stone, pokes its head through a wall in the basement, then hesitates for a second... then slips back into the wall and moves up into the ceiling

He can add +16 via one of his abilities, but since its only once per day per skill, and its a conscious choice, most times his skill checks do not get that bonus. Especially if its reactionary, which in this case it would be.

Someone else gets lucky mentions it and you could pinpoint it :)

cooperation is a good thing, something we want to encourage

On other note, my perception bonus is 34-49 depending on the situation

Well you may find it. But you won't know what/whose/hostility levwl

Magical silence along with the invisibility. So long as it avoids things with true seeing, there should be no chance to see things without using scent.

Scent can be negated for an hour using scent-bane incense.
Lastly, get the conceal presence feat, for those with blindsight not reliant on smell or hearing.
Temorsense is easy to negate with overland flight.

I want it difficult. Not impossible...

I think a fifty DC for no tremor no earthbending isn't unreasonable...

With earthbending its 40 (also amythist dragons)

Tremor/blindsense its 30

If it surfaces for any reason its a 15.

Also heat/X-ray or other material peircing abilities are 15

Its just hard to detect without other sensory abilities...

Scent may detect something
