This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Sorun rushes back... "We are going to a temple! Come on!" He seems to be fairly bouncing with energy

Sheess inwardly sighs, and sends a message to Ryleh.

Ryleh, I am going to be gone for... a while, perhaps a rain check is in order for that next trip...

Some of it must have escaped us last night. They're very aggressive and may or may not be alive. You need someone working on examining her right now. Tyrrin says that most of their team is infected as well."

Reminder to Ryo: Vare, Nala, and Ryo are standing right outside the door and Nanami just left. Nala is probably the only qualified person currently available to examine the quarantined girl.

"Do not be as reckless as I have been, Professor. If it comes down to it, can the Harbinger isolate this with it's weaponry? Simba nod as though it understands Midori's intentions.

Lang looks a bit confused at the moemnt. going up beside Midori.

Belsayv Rear Guard (Adon, Belyu)

The shade continues away down the tunnel for a few moments before apparently deciding to turn and face his pursuers, landing some 10 feet in front of Belyu and Adon. Now that the creature is at ground level, it's actually quite small - about as big as a medium sized dog, and vaguely humanoid in shape. It's details are still cloaked in shadow.

It hisses and points a finger at Adon.

Adon's SR: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (8) + 12 = 20

Adon feels a spell-like ability brush up against him and be utterly consumed by his anti-magic 'abomination'. The shade seems to take a comic moment when it stares at it's finger a little dumbfounded, before turning and fleeing down the corridor once more, a touch more panicked now.

Alright, I almost got to this tonight. I promise I will get to it early tomorrow. Sorry for the wait. Just to sum up everyone's actions so it's easier for me tomorrow (and correct me if I'm wrong):

  • Phaeze: Healing Vai and preparing to remove the pain condition (was used)
  • Sadie: Taunting the enemies and using her forcefields defensively
  • Vickory: Dispelling magic traps on the lock.
  • Vai: Rawr-Dragon
  • Yrrin: Providing healing as well, holy blood splashes out to deal some damage.

Alright, given low base stats and that crappy roll, even with their increases in Str and Dex, looks like the bull rush works like a charm.

The infected had been massing for an attack with more and more of them appearing, climbing over buildings and swarming towards the group. As they started to charge the group, Dom brought the wave towards them, knocking several off their feet. The others didn't much care about their downed comrades and attempted to walk right over them to get at Dom.

Tyrrin, you get AoO, but there are a lot of them and they have so sense of self-preservation.

The Half-Alive Streets | Truth of the Seeker | The Sanctuary of Drowned Delight

Belsayv (Phaezeriel, Sadie, Vickory, Yrrin, Vai)

Sadie's taunt have a clear effect on the enemies, and those who were not already focused on her now turn their attention, turning away from the Dragon. The only one of the N'gathau whose attention she does not have is the one which Yrrin has entered into combat with.

That is, until Vickory's dispelling spell rips away the magical protections guarding their trove of living flesh. The other side of the stitched-together entity finally takes his hands away from the controls that was torturing the poor ghostly girl.

With a startling speed, the dual-sided entity begins to close the distance between itself and Vickory, and a pair of green beam lance out towards the reapling, one beam coming from each 'side' of the duo.

Enervation x2, which I'm pretty sure Vickory is immune. If not though, here's the rolls.
    #1 (touch): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (2) + 17 = 19 1d4 ⇒ 1 negative levels
    #2 (touch): 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (13) + 17 = 30 1d4 ⇒ 1 negative levels

Meanwhile, the blackened skin N'gathau facing Yrrin abandons his defensive position - especially after the splash of holy blood was not a kind of pain he enjoyed. He lashes out with his daggers, quick as lightning despite his wounds.

    Dagger Full Attack (vs AC37):

    Mainhand 1: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (19) + 28 = 47 threat
    Mainhand 1a (haste): 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (17) + 28 = 45 threat
    Mainhand 2: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (4) + 23 = 27
    Mainhand 3: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (9) + 18 = 27
    Offhand 1: 1d20 + 28 ⇒ (12) + 28 = 40 hit
    Offhand 2: 1d20 + 23 ⇒ (15) + 23 = 38 hit
    Offhand 3: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (17) + 18 = 35

    Mainhand confirm rolls (Needs 8): 2d20 ⇒ (20, 19) = 39 2 confirms

    2 crits, 2 hits.

    Total damage (before any DR): 6d4 + 90 + 8d6 + 8d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 1, 2, 4, 3) + 90 + (1, 2, 6, 5, 5, 2, 2, 5) + (5, 1, 4, 6, 4, 2, 3, 2) = 159 plus 18 bleed

The dagger wielding N'gathau is able to drive several piercing blows through the holy warrior's defenses, causing more of the holy blood to spray painfully onto him, which only further enrages the creature.

Meanwhile, Sadie is set on all sides, with the archers picking her as their primary target, and the other two N'gathau - hammerhanded and blood-soaked axe wielder, also charge in on the teenaged girl. Luckily for Sadie, her mastery of her force field abilities are able to deflect all the blows from the two melee offender - they are simply not strong enough to break Sadie's defenses. The archers, however, are able to find the chinks in Sadie's 'armour'...

Didn't bother rolling the axe and hammer attacks, since they cannot pierce Sadie's DR.

2 Full Archer attacks vs. Sadie (AC25):

    Manyshot x2: 2d20 + 29 ⇒ (20, 20) + 29 = 69 2 threats + 2 hit (many shot)
    Attack x2: 2d20 + 29 ⇒ (17, 11) + 29 = 57 2 hit
    Attack x2: 2d20 + 24 ⇒ (18, 10) + 24 = 52 2 hit
    Attack x2: 2d20 + 19 ⇒ (2, 10) + 19 = 31 1 hit

    Threat confirms (anything but 1): 2d20 ⇒ (4, 11) = 15

2 confirms, 7 hits, effective 13 hits (ow.)

    Total Damage: 13d8 + 143 + 9d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2, 4, 3, 2, 1, 7, 7, 7, 2, 8, 6) + 143 + (2, 1, 6, 5, 5, 1, 2, 1, 2) = 220

Sadie is perforated just as Vai had been - arrows sinking deep into her vitals...

Tyrrin doesn't have a weapon in-hand (nor any natural attacks or Improved Unarmed Strike), and so cannot take AoOs (she doesn't threaten squares for that purpose).

Tyrrin does her best to use her larger size to physically block as many of the infected as possible from reaching the waterbender.

Outside of Moirie's home, there is a dull thud of a heavy object hitting soft earth followed by a knock at the door that sounds more like someone hitting a rock on it.

The front door's hinges are ancient and rusty, as if the door is not often used... and a woman's voice from around the small home calls, Come round back

A man sized stone creature walks around the house.
It has a sculpted buzz cut topped by two horns, one of which is broken off. It has a semi-humanoid face with a large nose which is pointed directly at a clipboard.
It has a round body and satyrs' legs ending in split hooves. Large stone wings are folded on its back.
"Good" it pauses to look at the sky before back at the clipboard "evening Sir or Ma'am. You have received a letter of acceptance for your child, insert na-uh" he flips it to a different page and then back. "Moirie, to the Avalon School for Gifted Children," he recites off the clipboard in a monotone, not looking away from it.
"It is now are understandin that you's haz completed yer prepehrations for sendin off your child. I am here to escort your child to the campus. You may take all the time you need to say goodbye and then I will escort him or her safely to the school."
He looks up at you from it.

The tall thin woman looks down her nose at the statue... her silver hair framing an alabaster face...

"You are the escort sent by the headmaster?" her soft voice is like a bar of steel wrapped in velvet...as if you are a cricket that knows a mildly amusing trick; that she has seen twice, and is losing patience

Eric. she says, her voice softening for the first time.

and a thin, slightly worried man opens the back door... Yes dear?

    Get Morire please...

of course.... and disappears back inside...

"Uh. Yes." It says when asked.
It clears its throat and flips some paper on the clipboard, akwardly waiting for them to get him ready and out.

The witch doesn't blink, her black cloak blowing in the wind....

A small boy inside a volumous blue robe and yellow wizards hat...

do I have to go mommy?"

Morire. We had this talk already. Yes, Morire, you must go.

He shuffles foreward... I am Morire... I have my backpack and book... I am ready for school.

Reminder to Ryo: Vare, Nala, and Ryo are standing right outside the door and Nanami just left. Nala is probably the only qualified person currently available to examine the quarantined girl.

"Nala, what exquisite timing you have! Please, come in. There's trouble in Kuros."
"Er, I'm not sure I'm the best person to help in Kuros," she said hesitantly as she walked into Ryo's office. "I'm pretty burnt out from keeping the infirmary running. I nearly froze the whole place because I panicked during a patient consult," she admitted sheepishly. "I was coming to let you know that you need to put someone else in charge for a little while. I need to be away from people."

"I understand that, really, but we have a person in stasis that is the source of a sentient, rage inducing, hive mind virus that has reached Kuros, and you are our best bet right now. Please at least consider helping."

She swung through the branches like a monkey, which closed the gap between them again, but she was still following him if only barely.

"What, no training to remember places you've been?" He teases, slowing down. He couldn't keep up that pace for long anyway.
