Aananda gives the nurse a glare, like see? this is why I need to be here. "Andromeda gave you a box. There are a series of little tripods inside. Set them around the area where you're placing the device. They'll shield the rest of the infirmary from any excess radiation. Not sure why my daughter had them in her pocket, but that's not currently pertinent to what's going on."
Vickory's confusion vanishes as she exclaims "You mean barriers. Of course, I should have realized that is what is what you meant. Sorry, but this place is rather weird compared to home, and I still haven't caught all the linguistic oddities yet." Vickory examines the area and rather specifically sets up all the pieces. "I am not overly familiar with all this. It is based on universal structures at least, but still a rather different approach and ignores only about half the field of, well physics as you call it. The detonator actually runs on a binary calculator. Very silly, but it still works."

"Yeah yeah. Less excuses more results" he says with a joking grin as he sets up his own set of barriers,
He then looks over at the silent melody image before turning to the teacher, his voice lacking any of it's previous mirth "can... Can she see us.. Or uh hear us?"

Phaezeriel |

Ace sends his thoughts to Phaez. While he doesn't have telepathy normally, he knows the reformed demon is one of the more powerful psions at the school. So he takes the gamble that his thoughts will be picked up, if directed at the telepath ::"Phaez, I'm outside Ginni's room, but I don't think I can get in. Is there anyway I can help her from out here? Or should I seek admittance to her room?"::
::Hey Ace, good job with Repp. That helped Ginni quite a bit, actually; the demon inside her is weaker now. Unless you are immune to the influence of a greater succubus, you should not enter Ginni's mind. I can form a link between you and my other mind and funnel your strength to her that way if you would like.::
Sorry for the long delay. Got lost in my mind for a while...

Phaezeriel |

The other pillars that he has seen here are all solid, as if they were made of stone. But when he looks behind himself to see what was there, the pillar behind him looks like it was woven together from many knotted strands. Almost like a spiderweb. It looked delicate compared to the others, but might actually be more difficult to cut.
Before Ginni can respond to any of his encouragement, another demon version of herself has coalesced outside of the wall. Time for round two. "Thank you," Ginni said to Phaezeriel before walking out to meet her evil half again.
The demon-Ginni smirked at her as she approached. "Oh, here she is, little miss pure and innocent," she taunted. "Except you're not really, are you? Blame it on the virus all you want, but I'm you. I know the truth. You enjoyed kissing all those boys and sucking the souls right out of them."
Ginni sighed. She'd been expecting this one. Apparently the warm-ups were over. "Okay, no, I did not enjoy sucking out their souls, nor did I enjoy being made to vomit them back up, and that vampire virus seriously sucked. Pun intended. But, yes, I enjoyed kissing all those people. Quite certain not all of them were boys. You're a succubus, don't be so narrow-minded. I liked the attention. I'd certainly had little enough of it up to that point. But the thing is none of those kisses actually meant anything. And I've discovered since then how much nicer kisses that mean something can be."
"Oh, is that what you're telling yourself? That it's better because you care? I think you just found someone who knew what they were doing and got carried away. And you tell yourself this story about love to make yourself feel better, to convince yourself you're still a good girl."
"Oh, for crying out...seriously? I am not this stupid. If you're going to talk like a moron, don't use my face to do it. I have feelings. Like a normal person. Some of those feelings include lust. Again, like a normal person. That doesn't make the other feelings invalid. I can have more than one emotion. At the same time even. I am an incredibly complex person. That doesn't make me bad."
This was apparently the right thing to say, since the demon-Ginni vanished into silver smoke. But the real Ginni was looking pretty uncomfortable now.
As soon as the demon is gone and he will not distract Ginni, Phaezeriel reaches behind himself without looking, laying his palm on the pillar; touching the actual connection between his mind and Ginni's mind. He shudders slightly at the sensation and the disorientation, then he pushes a little of his mental strength into the pillar, making it available to Ginni whenever she might need it.
His thoughts are quiet and gentle, a background that seems almost like she herself is remembering his words from earlier, ::You must take the energy that is the demon inside you and incorporate it into yourself, for it is already a part of you. It is yours already; she is simply trying to use it against you.::

"There's no indication of it so far, but really I have no idea. I'm just hoping that this works."

She sighed and rolled her eyes. "You're thinking of my sister. Ephebe. I know we look identical, but we're not the same person. I'm Andromeda. And I'm not doing this to get you in trouble. Well, you'll probably get detention. Miss Jones is pretty strict. But that's nothing compared to what she'll do to you if you let something fester and she has to clean up a bigger problem later. There's something not right in Tryko'Sam's head and you need to have Miss Jones look at you in case it messed you up too."
"Oh come on, give me a break! You're practically abusing me physically-- I mean you didn't even ask me to come with you, you just imposed your strength and will! How is what I did any worse? it was a joke, he's always getting the girls! This happens all the time. Don't be such a snitch. Gods!"
As they got closer to Miss Jones' doorway, forgot if she was there or elsewhere the physical contact with him and the resulting /focus/ on one emotion (probably the primary one in effect now), really -- really grows stronger. This reminder seems to steady Ginni. She looks around as if she were searching for something, and then shrugs and crouches down, setting her hands on the ground in front of her. She gasps in surprise as she is suddenly surrounded by silver mist. Thinking about what Phaezeriel said, she concentrates on drawing this mist inside of herself. More and more of it flows into her.
Unfortunately, she was so distracted by this process, that she didn't notice right away that the barrier separating her from the remaining red mist was breaking. She backed up as soon as she felt the rumble of it as the red mist rolled through. She tried to retreat, but couldn't find a safe place to run. She was surrounded by three different versions of Demon-Ginni.
"Why are you fighting this so hard?" The first one asked. "All of those emotions, but is it actually worth it? I mean, sure, you feel attached to these people, but really, when it's all said and done, why bother? They all leave in the end. Because they should, because they die, because they just don't care as much as you do. You always end up alone. They break your heart. Over and over and over. Why not just let go? Stop fighting so hard. Embrace nothingness. All that you'll find here is pain."

The other person has something in his head. I thought it was just trauma at first, but I know trauma, and it doesn't look back at you, if you know what I'm saying. There was another presence there. The Holo-Mel seems to have no sense that anyone is there. its like she is in in her own little world. (or maybe in this case another dimension all together.)
The barriers get set up as required, and almost as if on cue, Holo-Mel stops playing her guitar and wanders over to where the barriers are in place.
she sits on the floor nearby and starts to doodle on small chalkboard. she then sets it down on the ground so it can be seen. and she backs away a few paces and sits on the floor again, she is playing with her sonic device hoping that they get the idea.
the chalkboard has pictures of stick figures that seem to represent everyone there. it shows the one that looks like Arthur pointing something at the set-up and the numbers 6784 are written over his head.
it appears that she knows that the barriers are in place but is unable to communicate anything else.

[Dice=Perception Check] 1d20 + 24
[Dice=Intelligence Check] 1d20 + 5
Yep, that'll do it.
Using a more narrow range to search, Mithros is able to pinpoint that the fifth of the seven possible locations has what looks like seven firebird heat signatures inside.

Mithros Phoebus |

He watches the display over each structure not seeing a difference...then notices the signatures flare up in the fifth structure as he passes by. Excitedly he calls it in.
"HQ! Sunbird! I've got seven firebirds at target area five! Repeat, firebirds in target area five!"

igni just walks up quetly, making no effort to announce his presence or draw attention.

Ms. Jones' Office
"Oh for crying out loud," she muttered before reaching over and grabbing Thad's shoulder. "Better? So if you just absorb other people's emotions, then what were you doing to Tryko'Sam? Cause it looked like you were pushing emotions or thoughts or whatever at him."
Once again, at the moment of contact, whatever primary emotion Andromeda is feeling would become empowered, perhaps over whelming her.
Will save versus 25, or consider yourself akin to 'Rage' on a primary emotion. It's akin to the Barbarian ability, but just adapt to a specific emotion instead.
A shudder goes through Thad at the touch and he seems to grow pinker, and less gaunt, now having the strength to speak up to Ms. Jones, or even look at her.
"Emotions.. I focused on his, to empower them, made him focus on the one. I can do that to anything that feels. I don't know why, I don't care why, it works. It's ... similar to breathing for me. I don't ... never though of taking a class for what's natural."
He looks between the two, and certainly doesn't pull away from Andromeda's contact.

Andromeda Sunwake |

Will save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (4) + 14 = 18
Andromeda's heart beat faster and her hand shook slightly as she tried to simply focus on breathing. Fear. Always there, simmering just under the surface. Fear of failure. Fear of pain. Fear of dying. And so many memories of all three trying to crowd their way to the front of her mind.

Miss Jones frowned. "And yet you lack control or any awareness of how what you do affects others. Do let go of him now, Miss Sunwake. It appears to be having an ill effect on you. A fine way of paying back someone for trying to help you, Thad. To begin with, I am enrolling you in Basic Enchantment. This is not optional. At the very least you and Miss Halliwell can practice not reading each other's emotions," she said, dryly, apparently speaking of another difficult student to manage. "And to catch up, you will spend this weekend reading the first chapter in the textbook and writing an essay on it. Appropriately enough it's about ethics and mental influence. Now, to make sure you haven't bitten off more than you can chew, I would like to scan your mind. Surface thoughts only. I won't even look at your memories. Not without permission. May I proceed?"

Thad looks around, a bit confused by what's going on, but he's certainly looking healthy and aware. "I know I can empower other's emotions-- but, I know I have to concentrate to make that happen. That's good, right? I have to willfully make that happen." He doesn't seem to realize or sense Andromeda's surge of emotions, but they are still touching for now.
Then realizing something was asked of him, he shrugs and says, "I guess-- sure, go ahead. It's not like you're asking me for my choice on anything really. If I said no? I mean, I don't have anything to hide, so go ahead." Then more quietly, "go ahead ... "
If you'd like to mail me the nature of the 'scan'-- whatever details, that'll help in my response to it. :) Or mail me such.

"Arthur, please tell me that that makes sense to you. Because I'm not sure we can handle another long-term mystery to solve to make this work," she said wearily.

"If you said no, I would have referred you to the Headmaster so that he could use his divination skills to make sure that you are not under the influence of any outside presence without invading the privacy of your mind. You are not under any compulsion here, young man," she said sternly, as she reached out and forcibly removed Andromeda's hand from his shoulder as Andromeda had frozen in place. Andromeda whimpered a little bit before staggering back. "Look at what you are doing to the people around you," Miss Jones scolded Thad. "Even the ones trying to help you. You must learn to control your powers before you do yourself or someone else irreparable harm. Now that you know that it is not compulsory, do you wish to change your mind? Do I have permission to scan your surface thoughts or not?"

Sorchan del Sol |

"I have confirmed that raelle was captured alive and by a group of firebirds. they numbered four guards and one who appeared to be a child."
A series of expressions passed across Sorchan's face. Rage, sorrow, fear. But only for a moment. "Thank you once again for your help," he said.
