The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

Mel spent all morning working with Arthur, pouring over ideas and looking at this rift from every possible angle.

Despite being fairly engrossed in her work she does takes a moment here and there to just admire Arthur's abilities as well as how well everyone seems to be working together. (but mostly watching Arthur work)

ya know, I still have this feeling that this rift is being controlled by someone or something. I just can't prove it, but I fear that the best place to activate the device would be inside the rift. all my calculations give that the best chance of success.

"I'm not sure if a rift like this can be controlled. Someone or something could be trying for all we know, but the most important thing is that we close this thing. We can worry about assigning blame later when our universe isn't in danger of destruction."

"Are you going to be able to get out of the rift after activating the device?" she asked, concerned.

Elektra used the wall arrow trick and the group was soon headed to the cafeteria along with most of the rest of the crowd.

"So am I allowed to join you, or are you enjoying alone time? I promise not to be offended if you tell me that you're kinda over the whole family time thing," Solas said as he approached his sister.

Cindra looks up at Solas and the smile grows across her face, "Of course you can join me, I am not intentionally trying to sit alone. It just worked out that way." She pauses for a bite, then continues, "Are you enjoying your classes?"

Keme carefully and thoroughly went through the video footage. That was the fifth time he'd seen that strange skip. He sighed.

"Professor, I apologize for interrupting the universe saving operations, but may I ask a quick question? Is it possible that someone could effect the nanite security system via telepathy? Like, changing its memory?"

He shrugged and sat down. "Meditation was kinda boring, but I enjoyed light blades okay. It was better than meditation anyways," he said, rolling his eyes. "How about you?"

When both firebird girls walk into the cafeteria, they see a very strange sight indeed: a tall elven boy with black hair and an Avalon-school uniform-with the strange accompaniment of a green blindfold with the Avalon symbol-walks in, guided by a winged cat you may recognize as Ruji. He gives a respectful bow, and then goes to fetch some food from the elven cuisine. He also makes a stop by the catfolk section to grab some fish-and then proceeds, after some consideration, to sit down where you, Sadie, Ginni, and Tami usually sit.

He eats efficiently-with exactly 27 bites per mouthful, if she notices such things-but not quickly. Every once in a while, he cocks his head, as if listening to something, and throws one of the sardines in the air. They go up, but they don't come down...

She was kinda shocked to see someone sitting in Rodhas's spot....well, it wasn't like he was using it anymore. She blinked away tears and tried to think about something else, anything else. The new guy made her almost motion sick looking at him he had such a difficult pattern. She shook her head and looked away, trying to be patient as she waited in line to get food.

"That's what I'm working on, my simulations show that most power sources would be depleted too quickly in such a storm, and most of what remained would either not have enough output, or explode, trying to find something that works without doing that one by one would take forever, needle, haystack, you know? But then I figured, the rift itself is a huge source of energy, I just need to build a collector, that was relatively easy the problem I'm facing now is trying to find something that conducts that energy without degrading, gold conducts best but degrades really quick, on the opposite end adamanite doesn't degrade hardly at all but seems to actually repel the energy in low concentrations, still trying to figure the why's on that, I've run simulations on cold iron, platinum, iron, copper, various grades of steel, silver, blood crystals, Siccatite, deep crystal, heck even dragon bones, no idea where we'd find some of this stuff if it did work but I'm running the simulations anyway, so far mithril world the best of what I've tested, it stands up to degradation fairly well while being an excellent conductor right now I'm running a simulation on Horacalcum, it's a sky metal said to bend time, so worth a shot, though I don't have a lot of data on it, it's rather rare, if that doesn't work I'll start looking into alloys" he sighs rather frustrated "I've got schematics on every safety feature I can think of, mechanical armor release fail safe, a light padded under armor, multiple heat sinks, a force field generators, redundant circuitry, battery backups, mithril composition for light weight...but it doesn't feel like enough..." He pounds the table with his fist "Damn it! What am I missing!"

Pyrrhos leaves his class to go to the cafeteria and looks around briefly. So many... refugees from the firebird camp wouldn't be kept secret by the families for long. What would happen then?

What would happen if it didn't?

Female Elf Gestalt Sorcerer (Starsoul) 16/Oracle (Heavens) 16

Tyrrin stretches all her limbs out, sitting at the desk in her classroom. It had been a long time since she'd taxed her body and magic as she had over the weekend and it was a pleasant feeling to stretch away the stiffness.

Once the last of her students filed out, Tyrrin stood and placed a hand on the wall, calling forth the arrows to find Jaiye. She was still seriously lacking on information of what had occurred over the weekend.

Spotting Ace entering the cafeteria, Repp breaks away from the conversation he was having and walks slowly over to him, dodging the bigger folks crowding the place. He's obviously fairly subdued himself.

"Any improvement?" he asks quietly as he slides in next to Ace.

"Erm... Professor, can I talk to you?" Ardiente asks, feeling a rush of nerves. Despite that, he's standing prim and proper with his hands clasped behind his back.

Midori is suddenly extremely glad that Ignace didn't come with them, with the way Grim and Lang were reacting. A similar reaction from Ignace - or even the lack of such a reaction - would probably make Midori all flustered and unable to focus.

Instead she just grins at Grim happily. "Thank you, Grim-kun."
