Fei looks like he is about to speak further, but just nods and rises from the forest floor, Keme still carefully cradled in his arms. As he does so, the young monk quietly speaks into his ear:

If anyone is focused on Vai during the entirety of this conversation, they may notice that she keeps looking as if she's about to speak her mind, and then withdrawing slightly. It is most likely due to the fact that she's generally a shy person, unless her temper is brought out. Either way, the youngest Sunwake isn't adding too much to the conversation.
As Fei waits for Genosuke, Fei looks over at Vai...and stops, his gaze locked on hers. She was not acting as she should.
"Lumos...is here," he says to the other Champions, his voice...faltering a bit, but his gaze never shifting from Vai. "I think it is...controlling Vai, preventing her from speaking. She should not be acting this withdrawn anymore. Not with all that has happened..."
"I don't know, I've just been walking around since the attack."

Genosuke takes his grandson from Fei. He's trying to remain stoic, but fails. Tears begin to stream down his cheeks as he reaches around behind Kemes head, and grasps his neck.
"I'm sorry, Keme. I tried to watch out for you, and guide you as best as I could. I have failed you as your elder. Please think of me favorabley in your next life...I love you, pup." he leans close in and whispers in Keme's ear.
He looks up at Fei...and all can hear an audible pop, as Genosuke seperates Keme's skull from his spine, ending his life. He wails, shifting into his natural form, and Keme, in death, has taken his.

Despite his bravado at being willing to take Keme's life if he had to, Ace turns away when his grandfather kills his grandson. Several silent tears fall as he looks towards Vai. "I believe you might be onto something Fei. I know your girlfriend is shy, but not this much."
