"I'm so popular theses days..." He says as he sets down a cup. "Hello, Professor. Sandwich?"
Vakkler eyes the lettuce in the sandwich* with distaste. "No thanks. I thought I should report that I'll be leaving for a day or two." The kobold shifts. "I have to make a few stops in the city. We're running out of food for the slurks--we got some leftovers out of the Sunwake girl's absence, but now that she's back, those have run out quickly--and I need to make some personal stops. Is this acceptable?"
*That's me deciding the sandwich contents for you. Shameless godmodding!

Ryo thinks it over for a moment.
"I see no reason why not. I'll just have to find a substitute for your History of Warfare class. Will your slurks be alright on your own? You have my permission to look for volunteers to look after them while you are gone."
Why do I have a bad feeling about this...

Vakkler frowns. "After the latest incident, I'm not sure I can appoint any more students to watch them. And the children that can protect themselves may not do so...peacefully. The slurks are dearly bought from the Kobold Empire. Have you...any suggestions?"
Jiminy would do well, with competent supervision. But who could I trust to keep an eye on it?Vakkler's eyes light up. "Ah!"

"I thank you for your...generous offer. But I'm not interested in such precautions. I think I have someones in mind."
"While we are on the subject, have you learned anything about why the slurks attacked?"
"Erm, no." Vakkler rubs his scaly arm. "No, not...not yet. It's an enigma. I'll find out."

Ephebe wrote:She stepped into the Clock.A cold hand grabs her shoulder and keeps her from completing her movement.
"Good afternoon, Ephebe. I believe the note said something about you and the dead one going into the clock?"
"Huh? Uncle Keaton? What are you doing down here? Oh, and that's not the clock the note was talking about. I was going to get some rest and practice time, but if you're ready to go see Soli now, it can wait. Since I actually do have all the time in the world," she said with an obviously forced attempt at humor.
Obvious confusion already abounding. Ephebe's spot where she goes to see Kronos is referred to as the Clock. Which is of course now bound to be confused with the clock tower inside the school.
Fear the Mouse
The mouse scurries out of the garden into the hallways. He runs through the school, dodging a few druids and hungry familiars but for the most part going unnoticed. A faint sense of unease arises where he's been, though only those quite in tune with themselves notice it.
When I call it faint, that's exactly what I mean. It's very minor. Kind of the feel an arachnophobe gets when he sees a small house spider in the corner.
Ephebe
I can delete my post if you want. I forgot about Kronos' Clock and thought you were talking about Soli's, just like you said.
No, it's fine. Obvious confusion and it was bound to happen eventually. No reason to think he might not have misinterpreted the note. :)

"Excuse me headmaster but can you get a dozen new swords and a like number of heavy maces and tower shields. I was teaching the students how to protect their weapons against sundering attempts…they didn't do so well." Aleister asks as he walks in with out knocking. "Professor." He says acknowledging Vakkler.

"It's not? My apologies, I thought perhaps there was something strange happening with your Clock. Anyway, if you need to rest I can wait. I happen to have plenty of time too." Keaton replies with the same amount of forced humor. "It's not like I'm dying or anything."
Headmaster Ryo
"Hello, Professor Aleister, I'll be with you in just a moment." Ryo says with a nod before he turns back to Vakkler. "If you have someone in mind, then you have my leave to go. Do get a report on what you do know about the incident when you have the time."
"Now, Aleister, new swords, heavy maces, and tower shields you say? That can be arranged. Have the old ones sent to the Smithy Club's meeting room. That should get their forges aflame, and it's been a while since they've had anything to repair."

She smiled. "I'm sorry I was a bit out of it when you came looking for me. I've had some unpleasant truths I had to come to terms with. I..it was really hard to give up on the idea of being just a normal kid, but there's too many important people I need to protect. So I've got to change. It's okay though. I can stop being silly and melodramatic about it now. And now that I'm done being pathetic we can go talk to Soli."
Vakkler Relkav
Vakkler nods. "Very well." He turns and brushes by Aleister. He closes the door behind him.
The kobold heads outside with a minor feeling of foreboding. He makes his way to his home.
Next to the shack is a large hole in the ground. A shovel lies nearby, along with a few tools and a large slab of stone. The kobold walks over to the hole and jumps down.

"You realize that if you do need rest and aren't going to go take a nap, I will go get an enchanted pillow, right?"
"And as for normal, there's a boy here who can change his clothes into fine powder, there's a girl that has her own gravitational pull, fraternal twins that so far can switch bodies at the most inappropriate time, another boy that can objects into ice cream(and it's usually his desk), yet another..." She laughed. "Enough, enough, already! There's no such thing as normal here, I get it."
"And don't worry, I already had a nap. What I need now is more long-term rest and recuperation to rebuild my energy. I used too much last night. I had a special training to learn how not to do that again, but I need a lot more practice. None of which is so terribly urgent that it can't want for an hour or two."
"Ah, here we are." She knocked loudly on the door of the tower. "Alright, Soli, I did what you asked even though you were really not clear about it, and since you weren't clear we had to use Grandma as an interpreter so you know what that means. Now let us in!"
Solivala
There is silence for a moment. Right when your about to react the doors burst open, a massive claw made of gears grabs your uncle and pulls him in. The doors slam shut with a gong like bang before anything can be done, a slight shimmer over them. A small bottle rolls against your foot with a note tied to it.
Take two drops a day, one upon waking another before rest. Will aid with life energy restoration. Refrain from further damaging your life energy in the future.
Solivala
A moment or two passes before sounds can be heard thru the thick doors. You make out the sound of screeching metal and countless gears moving. Then suddenly a light seeps thru the bottom of the door so bright it seems to swallow the floor below your feet. An unnatural soul tearing scream seems to surround the entire area. Only silence remains as the light fades beneath the door. Shortly after they open and Solivala hovers out on his dark cloud holding a rather disheveled and dazed but much more "alive" Keaton by his collar. Something still seems off about him but he looks unharmed.
"I think my alterations are much more acceptable. He will agree once he recovers I believe. Should not be long. Did you read the note on the bottle?"
Did not see that coming did ya. If I railroaded too much let me know and I will change it.

"Well, I guess I'll start with the good news. James has a mate now. You remember Fieri? The pretty redhead he's been hanging around since last year? She's a sweet girl. And, much to his own dismay, he's been showing increasing amounts of responsibility too."
"For the rest, I think it might be faster if I used telepathy. It's more than a bit of a memory dump, but some of this gets pretty confusing."
