"Stop!" Nala shrieked. "You'll call them! You can't use that kind of speech so close to the border...the open border....it was closed and sealed thousands of years ago and now you're walking around with a piece of it and it is not sealed at all. If the Others hear you, if they find out the Way is open.....We're not ready for that. Winter is not ready. They'll wipe us out. And then you'll have nothing standing between you and the things that go sqglchk in the void and make the things that go bump in the night look warm and friendly and familiar," she whispered her voice having become quieter and quieter as she spoke. She was trembling in fear and there was a layer of frost covering the hallway.
"Oh gods," she groaned, burying her face in her hands. "I have to get a message to my mother. Even if that means she finds out I'm alive and here....even Mab is preferable to the Others. She has to know that the seals are broken."
No emotion passes Ryuzo's face...
"Ehos, I am Ryuzo, a professor here. This is Nala, also a member of the staff. The ice shards aside, we mean no harm. We just..."
He stops as Nala speaks, and his calm demeanor blanches slightly as he ponders what could be worse then her mother. Not being able to understand, but seeing the truth in her mannerisms...
::Nala, I don't think she knows what you're talking about...::The clones stay where they are, and make no moves, but to relax, slightly. One of them smirks.
Seeing that Nala's distress is the source of the ice shards, and with Ryuzo's clones relaxing, Alys also straightens and only her left hand remains on the hilt. She puts a hand on Ehos' shoulder and gently presses, indicating she would like him to step out from in front of her but not forcing him to do so. She speaks again, to Ehos directly this time. At a quieter and more calm level, her words are merely unsettling despite having a nearly perfectly melodic voice.
Alys turns fully to Ryuzo and Nala as Ehos steps, at least partly, out from in front of her. Her unintelligible words have a calming tone, but they seem to fall into the world with a weight that causes it to tremble just a little. Only she seems not to notice. She bows in a decidedly formal manner as she begins speaking, as student to teacher to any who would know such etiquette.
Oddly it is at this point that she notices that her words and Ehos' headache might be linked as he winces when speaks. With sudden sadness in her eyes, she stops speaking.
Tural the "leonial" |
Treisdan reaches out the claw and dismisses the flames, "Touch the claw. Anything that could dispel the Eligor would prevent his power here and now." No matter how close Tural gets, the claw will not disappear.
"Your aura would have no effect on Eligor. To put it very simply, your power simply is not strong enough to do anything to him." Treisdan says this with a little bit of pride... though his gargantuan ego is still absent.
"Genosuke said my aura would get in the Way of summoning him. I'm well aware it can't dispel him. My aura can't do that. It gives all those in the aria protection from possession from evil creatures. So... Since he said it would get in the way... Elgor is probably evil."

"That is incorrect, Eligor is not evil. Protection from evil would not prevent it. As far as I know there are only three or four things that can do anything to /any/ vestige..."
Treisdan keeps glancing down to the click each time it happens, almost reflexively
"Eligor is not evil, but he is not good either. Eligor is an outcast soul...And he is beyond the gods, the gods once warred for his soul, and when he perished no god claimed him for fear of another war. He was left and forgotten. "I agree, but that does not mean that a person can not fall into the category of 'good' or the category of 'evil'. The person falls into neither of the categories, he has committed atrocious evil, but also he has done great deeds of valor. I never said he is above good or evil. I said he is not good, and he is not evil. He is beyond the gods, is what I said. Treisdan looks to Revarti's expression, and then back to Tural, wondering what he had said or done to provoke this apparently uncommon reaction.

Binding is not dangerous in and of itself. I offer the vestige the feeling of the world again, and in return he offers me a fraction of his or her power. It is an equivalent exchange, unlike those who deal with devils. As long as they have feeling in this world, they grant me power, but they never ask for more. Because I am welcoming them into my soul, There is sometimes what is called a 'bad binding' where the vestige has enough influence that it effects my behavior, but it is not as though I am possessed, it is more like they have talked me into seeing their way of thinking, and I am more likely to act how they would, than I normally would." Treisdan explains this calmly, though he is slightly disturbed by Tural's shifting emotion

"Seems like a risky path to power, but... Well, it could be worse."
Tural notices his still twitching hand, and takes his other and moves the hand some with a slight "clack" and the hand stops twitching."Sorry about that."
Tural, at a glance, doesn't look like the mechanical being you know he is. He really resembles a Leonal, thanks to what seems to be fake fur.
"Anyway, while I may not really agree with what you do, I guess I can understand why you might do it."
Reviarti |
Treisdan looks at the female Zif, and he simply waits, hoping to understand what exactly she is thinking, and what the hell is up with Tural.
a short time after tural goes quiet, reviarti looks back to treisadan.
"Well, you certainly got tural talking, I'll give you that."she waits a bit, realizing he probably wants more.
"Tural's never talked much, from what I can tell. At least, not near me."

Nala Zamarosok |

Nala tries to slow her breathing, focusing hard on just breathing in and out to keep the panic at bay. The hallway was still covered in frost and the air was cold. See your breath cold. But not Nala's breath.
"Yes, I am a member of the infirmary staff," she said in as calm a voice as she could manage. "I apologize if my actions seemed threatening. My abilities with ice and cold tend to get out of my control when I am particularly distressed. Are either of you familiar with the fey at all?"
The ice gets considerably thicker when Alys speaks.

Al sits up in his tree, happily eating a rabbit he'd caught for lunch, taking a break from his patrols through the woods. He is blissfully unaware of the dragons stalking him while he's eating, the small bones on his necklace clacking as he tears at his lunch.
"I said, come down from that tree now," Ryleh repeated in a calm but firm voice.
Sheessuroussen |
Hearing the warning from Ryleh, not just once, but twice Sheess prepares to act. Muscles bunching silently beneath his robes, and he gets a spell ready as a backup if the creature, whom appears to be devouring something bloody, once again refuses to acknowledge the warning
I severely doubt I actually need to cast or do anything
Lucas Svarog |
"Maybe we'll then learn to get along better with each other as a result"
Sorchan del Sol |
He opens the door and smiles a tired smile up at Sorchan, ::Professor Del Sol, thank you for joining us. Lily is calmer now, at least outwardly, but I do not think the crisis is resolved based on her last request. I greatly fear that she will come to harm if her mind remains set as it is.::
Sorchan came into the room and closed the door behind him.
"First of all, I want you to know that everything said in this room is confidential. I will not violate your privacy, Miss Svarog. I was called in for a...cultural consultation since your cultural beliefs and what is medically best for you are currently at odds. Miss Surya is welcome to stay if that helps you feel comfortable.""So perhaps we can talk this through and come up with a solution that doesn't involve turning yourself into a phoenix?"
Reminder: phoenix are notoriously stupid pets.

"That's....monstrous. I don't think much of your clan's training methods. You're people not robots...actually I've known a few robots with more emotions than that so that's not a fair comparison," she said heatedly.

Lucas chuckles at her repeating his words.
Vare, the Summoner |
Kevin flattens into a pool as Dave flies through where he would've been.
He springs back up into a goo dragon after he's through.
"So, where-"
Vare takes a thousand league step and is gone before Kevin can make himself known.
The azure mass of draconic jelly gives something akin to a sigh; a gurgling sound more of, as breath isn't strictly required.
He picks the large metal keg back up and extends a hand to the wall, tracing Vare again.
The arrows flare back up but annoyingly they keep swapping directions, as Vare presumably is teleporting around the school. Eventually, Kevin will be lead to the Conjuration classroom, where Vare is there, seemingly sorting through a pack of supplies with one hand, with his mis-matched spellbook open in the other, muttering arcane words.
Rena, the Companion |
"She's gonna be fine. Mistakes happen. I don't think Asha would hold something like this against you. She's not that kind of person."
He finishes saying this right before Dave arrives.
"Can't stay away, huh, Shiny? I missed you too."
He sticks his tongue out at Dave and smiles, obviously knowing Dave wasn't here just for him.
He then looks back to Rena.
"We'll take care of Asha. Sounds like you've gotta help save the world."
He smiles to her caring and encouragingly
Rena glances up at at the collected people (David, Pyry, and Tybs) and snuffles loudly. She nods shakily.
"Okay, okay. As long as Asha will forgive me."
Snot begins to drip out of Rena's nose before she snorts it back up, perhaps ruining any thought that she was a pure angelic being of beauty and poise. She stands up slowly.
"How can you humanoids stand to have a leaky nose like this? It's so annoying!" she asks rhetorically, lifting the hem of her shirt to wipe her nose, revealing a bit of midriff and cleavage as she does.
"Did Vare say why he needed me?"
Tybalt Baneko |
"Use this, hon."
He pulls a light blue handkerchief from Pyry's ear.
Before handing it to her he flicks his amulet and the circle in the middle lights up. He traces an R for Rena on the handkerchief in glowy magic. It quickly fades into embroidery, showing her possession of it.
He hands it to her by placing it on the end of the white crook which springs out so she doesn't need to come retrieve it from him.
Tyrrin Denulia |
I think that drama bomb is already big enough. :P
Jaiye keeps pace with Tyrrin easily. "I'll tell you everything when we get a chance, but it isn't a pleasant story."
"Sounds like whatever Ace wants your help with isn't a very pleasant story either."
Fair enough, heh.
"I understand, Jaiye. We'll make some time to talk about it tonight, alright? I promise." she replies as they descend the tower back downstairs. Tyrrin lets out a puff of air, her breathing a little heavy. She just walked UP that tower.
Tyrrin's hand brushes the wall as they exit out into the school proper, conjuring the arrows to go to Ace. "Well, he said it involves murder, which could either means he's over dramatizing or it is indeed very serious."
Kevin Ramos |
Kevin finally arrives in the conjuration room, setting the keg down with a thud.
"Finally...," He sighs.
"I brought holy water. A lot. And I can make it the strong kind. I figured it'd be a safe way to purge the whatever it is and not hurt Sam."
He collapses to the floor, tired of walking and standing. Despite the new form he had and its immense strength, his mind still told him that this was far too much exercise for one day.
"Ace" |
When Ace opens the door after Ty knocks on it, a small puppy runs up and wags her tail happily at Ace's best friend. "Well, Squeaky seems to like you" He says in an uncharacteristically quite voice. Gone is the happy go lucky guy Ty has come to know Ace as, instead replace by a somber, almost sad demeanor.
Let me know if that link works, k?
David.De'Foul |
He finishes saying this right before Dave arrives.
"Can't stay away, huh, Shiny? I missed you too."
He sticks his tongue out at Dave and smiles, obviously knowing Dave wasn't here just for him.
He then looks back to Rena.
"We'll take care of Asha. Sounds like you've gotta help save the world."
He smiles to her caring and encouragingly
sorry I missed this,"must be your magnetic personality, I'd love to stay and chat, but time is somewhat of the essence."
Djalos Tyon |
Djalos continues to stab at his food. "It may have been monstrous, but it was necessary," he says quietly. It actually sounds like he's quoting something.
Archena Surya |
"If that's what happened, no one at my parents parties would have any kids... There was always at least one or two guys that got real handsy with the staff girls..."
She remembers some of the drunken stumbling that went on between many of the firebird nobles after a little too much fermented oil.
Tybalt Baneko |
"Wish I could help you guys... but I still can't do much like this. Only magic I have right now is my amulet, the new stuff and any of the magic do-dads I have stored. None of that would be much help, though. Not to mention that I feel like a kitten again..."
He says, possibly bringing to the imagination an image of what Kitten Tybs might look like.
He tries to flop backwards, and unceremoniously knocks a bowl of ice cubes they had brought him for lunch over onto his face.
"Ow..."
He says in a deadpan way into the now empty bowl on his face; more of an afterthought than an actual reaction, meaning it really didn't hurt.
There are now a few ice cubes scattered on his chest, the bed, and the floor, none of which are in danger of melting in the cube of cold kept in by intangible walls.
He laughs into the bowl over his face, not yet bothering to take it off of him.
Rakki Okane |
"Kind of unfortunate for a gap in your defense to be so common. I'm guessing that if it ever comes up, you could outrun them anyways..."
He pulls heavy metal ball on a 10 foot chain out from underneath the leather arm band on his right hand. Where it came from is a mystery and the end of the chain stays inside the band.
He swings it heftily, taking out a line of them in front of him.
"Looks like they're thinning out. Want to try out being a tiger? Maybe see what it's like as a one of my shuriken? That's another thing I could loan you. Hell, you could try being me if you want."
