The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

"I apologize in advance for the trouble my youngest is likely to cause you then," she said lightly. "James has a unique sense of humor."

This may strike him as a bit odd since to a casual observer Aananda appears to be in her early twenties. I figure the kids just see teacher and don't look past it, but another teacher might actually notice. :)

"Well I will certainly keep an eye out for him then." He says though his eye brow does raise slightly when she says her children are in the class, but he just shrugs it away. After all he is 25 but looks about 20 and will never change till the day he dies oh and he's a demon can't forget that.

"Oh, hi Spin! ACK! Why are you carrying Ephebe? Is she... Is she...?"

Dennis sighed and shook his head. No matter how he did the math it looked like placating Professor Relkav was going to be no end of headaches.

He looked up in surprise as Jiminy knocked on his door carrying a large duffel bag. And the headaches just kept on coming.

"Please tell me this doesn't mean that you're planning to crash here..."

"Sorry, man. Mom's orders. Nah, don't worry. I'm fine with the floor."

He grinned charmingly.

Spin smiles reassuringly, "She's fine. Just asleep. She had a rough snipe hunt, though she didn't actually get hurt. I'm sure she'll be happy to explain it to you when she wakes up."

He goes and lays her on one of the beds, not even thinking to ask which one, "Her mom asked that she be able to stay with you tonight. There's more concern about... ya know.. the threat against Ephebe and her brothers. We ran across one or two of them in teh hunt, and it just uncovered more issues. I have to admit I had a hard time paying attention in the meeting." He shrugs a 'sorry i don't have more information' at her then looks back down at Ephebe.

Without looking up he asks, "Are you alright? I thought I'd see you helping in the infirmary, but you weren't there."

He grumbled something unintelligible and tossed a sleeping bag at Jiminy.

"Well, since you two are getting on so well, I'll just go drop off this stuff for Ephebe. Don't let him wander off on his own, Dennis, 'kay? He'll spin it as paranoia, but these guys are no joke."

"Come on, Taron, let's go back to our room. You've got stuff to enchant and I've got to practice." Kam says as he drags Taron out of the office.

"I'll remember that thank you. If you'll excuse me, I need to go prepare my room for tomorrow." He says as he shrugs his shoulders adjusting Rinth into a more comfortable position. It occurs to you that a man of his size should have more difficulty with a blade of that size than he does.

'Sima blushes. "I'm fine, I was in detention. In the end I..." she sighs "...in the end I just couldn't go through with it. I like to help people, but I still just can't get over the thing of putting a bunch of kids into a "you must fight" situation. I know, I know, everyone wants to do it, and if I had powers like yours, or was a warrior like Taron or Asch then I'd probably have a different opinion. But it all still just feels...I dunno...kinda warmongery? Is that even a word? Anyway, I just couldn't get past my squickiness about the whole thing, and I bailed, and I got caught." She smiles ruefully. "Sure got a whole lot of reading done, though..."

"So, uh, who won? Did you win?"

The hallways of the school got quieter as more students trickled to their beds now that the snipe hunt was over. It was agreed that it had been an odd snipe hunt. The halfhearted attempt at an after party had been quickly closed down by teachers too. Soon only a few stragglers remained...

"So, uh, who won? Did you win?"

Spin shakes his head with a laugh, "No, I didn't win, though I wasn't really in a position to. And I don't actually know who won."

He looks around, then continues, hoping there are no super-secret eaves droppers present, "We were supposed to draw out the Hunters who were attacking Ephebe, and I got to be the bait. I think it would have blown the disguise if I had started shapeshifting instead of looking like Ephebe." He shrugs, trying to convince himself it wasn't a big deal, but Nasima can tell he wished he could have been more active.

"Anyway. I get you not wanting to play. It's not for everyone, but I don't think it's warmongery." The word brings a smile to his lips, "Other than the hunters no one was in any danger. It's just a game… like any other sport. Competitive and exciting."

"Hey, hope I'm not interrupting anything. Just dropping off some stuff for Phebe, 'kay. I'm gonna go get some sleep now. I'll need my rest. I'm gonna have my work cut out for me tomorrow keeping Jiminy from wandering off on his own." ^.^

She dropped the duffel bag off inside the door and then headed off with a wave.

She was wandering through the maze, but the turns kept changing when she wasn't looking. This was not normal. She rapidly dodged out of the way when a giant snail with parcels tied to its back, some dangling off the sides, lumbered past not caring who or what was in its way. What the...? This made no sense. A fanged rabbit grabbed her arm. "Do you know where the teapot is? I have to find the teapot," it asked her earnestly. She shook her head, but then a huge teapot wheeled past being pushed by a pack of chickens and the rabbit took off in pursuit. She stepped back so she wouldn't be run over by the returning snail and stepped right off the ground into a pit. She screamed as she fell...and fell....and fell....

She woke up gasping. She was in a bed and it was dark. What...where was she? How did she get here? What was going on?

That's the first time I've seen someone fall out of the rabbit hole...

Well, she's never had a proper dream before...you can't expect her to get it right the first time. ;P

Imagefemale weredragon (amethyst) gestalt Soulknife17/oracle10/divine gunslinger7

She figured out where she was when she saw Nasima sleeping in the other bed, but she couldn't get back to sleep. What was that? Usually when she dreamed it was some sort of communication from Kronos...some glimpse of the future or past that she needed to see...and by usually she meant always. She didn't know what to make of that strange scene. Giant delivery snails...vampire rabbits...chickens stealing giant teapots...so weird...

She sat and waited for the sun to come up. It seemed to take forever, but eventually the sky started to get lighter. She went and took a shower once it was close to dawn. Once she was clean and dressed and had her school bag packed she hesitated. The sun was only just up and 'Sima was sleeping soundly. She didn't want to disturb her. She went quietly out of the room and dashed across the corridor to Fieri's room. She knew Fieri was an early riser and she didn't want to wait for breakfast.

Having rested a fair bit in detention, Nasima is sleeping lightly and awakes when Ephebe does.

"Phebe! It's okay, hey, how are you?" she turns on a soft desk lamp. "Since Marra transferred -- or whatever -- I've got a spare bed and the room to myself, so Spin set you here. Sounds like things went...kind of according to plan...?"

Heh. Feel free to ignore, if you'd rather. I got ninja'd.

Aleister awakes in his and Aislin's bed her sleeping form still beside him. He gently gets off the bed as to not wake her and begins to prepare for class. He moves into the adjoining room which is also his classroom/training room and begins to set up practice dummies along with blunt metal swords for sparring. He draws Rinth from the sheath across his back and settles into a simple practice routine. Starting slow and progressively speeding up the routine.

He suddenly stops Rinth held over his left shoulder as waves of energy seem to form around the blade he then swings the sword down sending out a reddish wave of energy knocking smashing one of the practice dummies into the wall.

And un-ninja'd. I was just trying to give you an out since you said daytime posting was tough for you. :)

Just as she got to the door, 'Sima's words stopped her from heading out.

"Oh, you're awake! Sorry, if I woke you. I just had the weirdest dream and then I couldn't get back to sleep..."

"Yeah, things went......mostly according to plan. Sort of. First Jimmy's plan to let Spin borrow my abilities went a little...er, far I guess. He fried a poor innocent filing cabinet when the breath weapon went off. That part he thought was cool. The not being able to fight, well, not so much. I can't say I was a huge fan of standing helplessly by either. But luckily Jimmy's little trick made Spin's form look all blurry so not even the Hunters noticed the switch. There was a ghost, and Krays was able to control him, but then another showed up and tried to put 'me' into a soul-trap gem, and it would have worked which would have been bad except I switched places which was what made me so tired. They had what they came for and thankfully didn't even know it, so that plan didn't work. And Krays cast a feeblemind on the Hunter...so we know now that there are a bunch of them. Twelve of them still running around at large, but at least we know their names, so hopefully that will help with the tracking down. And I guess I said something awful to Lysander because Spin had to borrow my time turning ability to set it right. I've never been on the receiving end of one of those before. It was...strange. Anyways, after that I couldn't hear him in my head anymore and then I kinda passed out."

Aananda finished her breakfast and went to put a few last minute touches on the repairs to the gym before class started again today. It was hard to concentrate on classes when she knew there were still twelve psychopaths wandering around trying to kill her children, but they had to pretend like everything was normal. So she planned some extra special lessons to try and keep her mind off of things.

Fieri yawned and sipped a cup of coffee as Jiminy downed a very large breakfast. Dennis had shown up just after dawn with Jiminy in tow saying something about his being her problem for a while. And then there was this whole elaborate thing with depillatory cream in a werewolf's locker. Which was going to be hilarious once she was awake. She was used to getting up early but this was ridiculous.

"Whoa! That...sounds like a lot. Er, hang on..." The sylph jumps out of bed and gets into yoga pants and a spaghetti-strap tank; good clothes for Deep Meditation. "I'll come with for breakfast. I was worried enough I didn't eat well last night, so I'm actually kinda hungry." She smiles at the dragon. "I mean, relatively speaking." She steps into flip-flops and follows Phebe out, locking her door behind her. "So, Spin borrowed your time-travel abilities? How the heck does that even work? That's...that's amazing, I guess? I mean, is it? Or is it worrisome. I can't really tell."

The out is much appreciated, as it turns out I got a bit of time today so I'm aight. :-)

Kam wakes up to find Taron has formed a window in their room and it leaning out it looking at Agartha's ceiling as the sun crystal slowly brightens the day.

"How long have you been up?"

"I never went to sleep." Taron replies, still staring out the window. "I've been waiting for you to wake up so we can go to breakfast. Charging those crystals made me hungry."

Kam laughs as he gets dressed and walks with Taron to get the usual exceedingly large amount of food.

The school began to buzz with activity once more as the students woke up and got ready for classes. The winners of the snipe hunt were congratulated, students eagerly signed up for the extracurricular clubs posted on the bulletin board, and Jeran howled with rage when he received an unexpected 'shave' as he was covered in hair removal cream when he opened his locker.

If you want to join any extracurricular activities please feel free. :)

"It's not a bad thing anyways. Jimmy was just supposed to copy one ability, but since I've imprinted on Spin there's a sort of...resonance there, so he ended up copying all of them instead. But it was totally temporary. Although...it kind of helped long term. Spin's mind is really chaotic, and somehow that chaos made it easier to sort through all the potential realities. Like a filter. Which probably makes no sense whatsoever." ^.^

"Mmm...pancakes." Ephebe stopped to check her food for poisoning before digging in and eating a huge breakfast, even for a dragon.

Taron whacks Ephebe lightly on the back of the head.

The kobold stares. His eye twitches, but the reptilian features make it difficult to detect any emotion. Until the kobold laughs, sounding both pleased and confused. "You are a good person." The gamekeeper turns and leaves, still laughing in that disoriented way.

"The wards prevent anyone participating in the snipe hunt from actually getting killed. Defeating a snipe is how you win, but it's also important to defeat as many other participants as possible. That's what people bet on. And to answer your question, Taron, no not really. Not this time. But he sure got a lot of attention.
