"Mr. Achdarach has chosen a very dangerous hobby, Reviarti. It involves binding powerful souls of other beings to himself." he says whilst looking through shelves for a certain tome, which he finds, and a scroll, written on dragonhide. He sets the tome down on a pulpit, and unrolls the scroll for Reviarti to see. It depicts the circles and symbols very close to what Tresidan asked him to draw. "Is this what he asked you to draw, or similar?"

"Really? Interesting. Yeah, that's it."

Genosuke |

He hands the scroll to the unseen servant, who holds it out, so that Genosuke can recreate it on the open part of the floor. "Yes, interesting, but at a price. A price his very soul is paying at the moment. I believe he intends to use this other being to strengthen himself for a time, to stave off the damage being done. It may not be a wise choice, but I'm afraid he may have left himself with little other option. Now, if you wish to help, try to keep him conscious, and aware, if you can. He must invoke the creature to bind it, after he is called. If he can be called." He sets about the task of scribing out the summoning and binding circles.

"Will my aura of protection be a problem?"
tural has a constant protection from evil effect on everything in 20 feet.

reviarti thinks for a while, and turns to treisadan.
"You gonna have problems staying awake?"
Genosuke |

He boggles for a moment "Yes, please stand 25' feet back or so, if you please. Magnificent..." he mutters before going back to work.

Treisdan Achdarach |

Treisdan coughs slightly and murmurs no to Reviarti
As the last lines are drawn, Treisdan manages to exhale the invoking name.
From an extremely far distance, yet still inside of the three foot circle, a huge warrior mounted on a half dragon half horse gallops towards them, The warrior and mount are both covered in a platemail engraved with dragonscales. The rider and horse are as red as blood, and the lance he holds in one hand is colored the same as his other equipment, and in the other he holds a crimson banner with a black dragon crossed with a lance...

all rivisrti's eyes focus on the... Thing. She clearly disapproves to some degree, but says nothing more.

Genosuke |

Genosuke, watches but says nothing.

Florence Levitt |

"What exactly do you like about them?"
He asks as they wander in.
He looks around slowly, mostly looking up at the trees.
"These places teem with tons of life you won't find anywhere else. They generally repel other people, so I can go to them to be alone. I can Generally relax in swamps without being tempted to chase anything. The smells don't bother me, and I like seeing the plant life."

Treisdan Achdarach |

Lifting the visor, the elvish face of Eligor looks out, directly at Treisdan.
"Hello, Treisdan, How are you today." Despite his appearance, and riding a terrifying chimeric creature, he seems to be very cordial and his voice is surprisingly deep and cultured.
Treisdan forces himself to sit up, and lean toward the summoning circle; in a voice less than a whisper he greets the vestige. "I am not well Eligor, That is why I have called you here." He reaches forward, sticking his hand into the circle.

Florence Levitt |

"I suppose so."
He looks around.
"I've always preferred being with people. Especially when people liked being with me."
"I can only handle that for so long... You don't suppose this sim isn't /just/ a swamp, do you?"
she pulls a branch off a nearby tree, and snaps some parts off to make a makeshift quarterstaff.
The Vestiges |
Eligor sheathes his lance in the holster of his mount's saddle, reaching forward and gripping Treisdan's hand tightly.
The flesh on Treisdans arm begins to chitenize, coating his hand in thick red scales. His right hand becomes more like a dragon's talon than anything else.
closing his helm after the deal has been made Eligo clasps his mailed hand to his chest, and grabs the lance out of its cup, and the thundering mount charges into the distance, even though it never actually exits the circle until it disappears...

Alys Himuro |

Ehos eyes the katana at Alys' side, absently rubbing at his temple. The pain was a dull throb but it seemed to be getting worse moment-to-moment.
'Maybe we can get you setup with one of these?' Ehos displays as he taps the datapad he wields. 'It's certainly made my life so much better.'
'Is there anything magical about your katana? It must be linked to your speech in someway. There's no way that's a coincidence.'
Alys shrugs and speaks again.
She draws the blade about six inches from its scabbard. At first, Ehos thinks he is seeing a strangely colored and star speckled blade, but after a moment his mind deciphers what he is actually seeing; it is a window in the air, shaped like the blade of a katana, with the unknowable vastness of space visible through it. As she turns slightly so he can see better, the view through the window changes exactly as if it really were a window into space. It is about then that he notices the cold that seems to be pouring off the exposed blade. After a moment she slides it back into is scabbard with a sheepish smile for the three people standing nearby in the hallway. She shrugs again.

Phaezeriel |

This is what I get for posting at work. Doh.
With the door back to the infirmary blocked, Lily's hyperventilating only increases as stabs of claustrophobia shoot through her brain. The firebird rushes to the small window and desperately fumbles at the latch.
Unless Serrin or Phaeze intervene, she'll fling the window open in a panic and take to the air in her bird form.
There, that should be more consistent.
Phaezeriel, knowing how destructive to Lily her panic attack could prove to be if she were allowed to simply run free, exerts the full strength of his mind, pressing calmness over her rioting emotions like a wet blanket over a fire.
His mental voice, still calm, slips easily through the mad panic in her mind, ::Please, Miss Svarog, come away from the window.::

Genosuke |

"Fascinating."
"I trust you feel better, Mr. Achdarach?"

Treisdan Achdarach |

"Fascinating."
"I trust you feel better, Mr. Achdarach?"
"Yes..." his voice is much stronger as he says this, and your eyes can easily see that his muscles, which he struggled to control fully, were now much more defined and now operate with ease as he stands straighter.
"Thank you...Sir."

Genosuke |

"Good. I would normally take a moment and lecture you about your habits, but I know it would fall on deaf ears. Instead, I will encourage you to use the strength Eligor has given you to...correct...yourself, while you are still able. Reviarti, I thank you and your companion for your assistance. We may have lost Mr. Achdarach sooner than expected otherwise."

"Correcting myself, professor, is a bit beyond my ability... I would not even know how to begin." Treisdan admits... "And though binding is quite frowned upon, it is not inherently dangerous, with only a very low chance that I would be subject to any of the potential side effects."
Speaking of this... 1d20 ⇒ 13 I'm fine
Treisdan's talon slowly flexes opened and closed... "And binding seems to be the only way to really keep me...Whole and healthy...

Florence Levitt |

He tosses the guitar up, catching it by the neck with two hands like a club.
"This place is really freakin creepy."
He keeps watching from side to side, now more focussed than just looking around.
Florence looks to rekki.
"Eh. Not really. I've been weirder places. Anwyay, whatever it is, it's getting closer."

"Eligor grants my body strength, and his contract has helped with the condition that leeched it away in the first place, So he was the perfect choice... I could have called Buer, but Eligor is much better suited than Grandmother" Treisdan explains calmly, and bows his head to Reviarti, "And once again, I would like to thank you for your assistance...

Genosuke |

Raises an eyebrow.
"Not inherently dangerous. I see. That's why anyone who is wise for centuries has warned against doing so, I suppose. And, also why you almost perished on my desk. You can continue down this path, but I would beseech you to get help, or work with the entities you bind, in order to lessen the strain on yourself, or even better, eliminate it all together."

Treisdan waits for a few moments, gathering his thoughts, before responding. "I see your point, but binding is not the reason that was...injured. That was an unfortunate event but the cause was..."
Long pause before continuing
"Unrelated" he finishes sheepishly, "and just because people preach against it doesn't mean that it is necessarily bad or wrong, people have been objecting to anything new or different since the dawn of time. If I were unable to bind, then I Would be dead on your desk"
you can tell that he is telling the truth and believes in what he says.

Genosuke |

He chuckles
"There's a vast difference between a naysayer and someone who has lived it and counsels against it based on experience with the desire for someone else to not have to go through the negative side effects.
My planar knowledge came at a price."
"However, if your soul is torn to the point of needing another to make up the difference, then perhaps you are truly without another option. I would advise you try to find a fix, though."

Treisdan looks at the crisp and clean lines of the summoning circle that Genosuke drew, and the fact that he had Eligor's symbol on hand. "I expect it did."
Treisdan flexes the clawed talon once more, as the scales begin to fade, and the hard chiten once more being replaced with soft supple skin, the ivory hooks return to keratin... "If you know where I could go to fix myself, I would love to get that knowledge... but it is not as though I can just purchase another half of a soul at the school supply store."
Can I?

Raelle del Sol |

"What's an assassin?"
She asks Raelle, concerned at the sudden shift of character.
"Someone who kills people for money," she answered tersely.
Djalos nods. "Correct. Or, at least I was..." The young elf's facade cracks a little bit. "Before the job at Ribos. That..." he touches his blindfold. "Is what led to my new power. When my contingencies kicked in, I was teleported back to base. Destroyed my entire cell. Just... gone. That's not supposed to happen."
Raelle sat quiet for a long moment as she tried to sort through her warring emotions.
"No, it's not supposed to happen," she said quietly. "I am very sorry for your loss."
"I can't approve of your work though. I hope that you can find some other outlet for your talents," she said, her voice carefully controlled, her fists clenched tightly in her lap.

Ryleh |

His fingers delicately grasp the tiny crystal, holding it up and scrutinizing the precious gemstone. "It does make me feel better. The lack of knowledge, and the seemingly growing danger to this school and thus, him, does weigh on my mind at times..." he says softly, "and you are quite observant to notice, and kind to help." he reaches up and pulls a long strand of hair from his tight topknot, leaving the strand to hang down in front of his face. With a few sharp tugs and careful placement the jewel is knotted in place, hanging just below his angular cheekbone, where he can keep an eye on the color of the magical device without impairing his hands or obscuring his vision. He looks at Ryleh and smiles as he folds his hands and bows at the waist, his head nearly level with her knees. "Thank you."
"You are welcome. It is a small favor to bring peace of mind to a friend," she said formally, but there was the slightest trace of a blush on her cheeks.
"Speaking of your ward, how is he adjusting to school life? It cannot be easy for him being away from home for the first time. I trust he isn't too terribly homesick?" she said, introducing a new topic of conversation as they resumed their walk.

::On my way.::
He should have known better than to think he was going to be able to finish his lunch. That never happened. He hurried to the infirmary and tried to get instructions from the confused staff as to which room he was supposed to be going to.

Her lips curved up slightly in the barest hint of a smile. "Well, I am glad to hear that your plans are to stay for a long time to come. I would miss our talks were you to depart sooner. This place is important to me because it is where my family is, but it has been a long time since I had a friend. My kind is often overly solitary, and I am surprised to find how much I value companionship after all."
