"Hmm. How does that sound, Nate?"
she pauses for a moment.
"Nate's ok with it. Tell me more."
"Walk with me."
He smiles and takes the tray in both paws.
He starts on a moderately slow walking pace to his office, obviously not in a hurry to get anywhere.
"First, may I ask who Nate is?"
He hopes this isn't another one like Lim-Môr. That just means both of their lives get harder, not that he wouldn't be willing to help if she was.
"Avalon was established by the High Seer Ryo Antarius as as school to help children with powers they are not capable of controlling or coping with. We have many students from many different races. After the planet was turned out wrong ways, we've had more than a few students arrive from other planets. Some seek refuge from less understanding personages and some simply choose to be here for fun or a lack of a better option, but all students are offered an education, room and board, food, and most amenities free of charge. Students and staff have access to many facilities, such as the pool, lake, simulation rooms, gym and so on. Following me so far?"
"Wow. I don't know much about other planets, but i haven't has much formal education either. As for Nate, she's my shoes."
she obviously has to put in a lot of effort to keep pace with you,as she is not used to moving this slow.
"I didn't either until recently, but no worries they are all nice enough."
On her comment about her shoes, "magically intelligent?"
"OK, now, one of the most important things, as you may or may not know, our planet Agartha has the Wards in place to keep us undetected. The school has a similar type of system to a very different end. While you are in the school and on the grounds, you are not allowed to attack another student or member of the staff. If you do so, you will be sent to detention, which is run by our head of security. Should you find yourself injured, the medical ward will have you teleported to the infirmary to be treated. If you must be one of those that gets a kick out of fighting people, formal duels are issued and take place in the simulation rooms. All duels must have a staff supervisor. You may not threaten other students into accepting a challenge and everyone has the right to deny it. Duels are not a toy and are very serious buisness. If you simply want to fight someone or something the sim rooms are capable of rendering opponents and there is a student run arena with a roster that you may participate in at your own risk. Any more questions?"
After the two blocks of lengthly explanation, you arrive at a door labeled 'Councilor Shirokouruma-Sensei.'
He produces a jade key from one of his pockets and unlocks the door.
Pushing the door open, he reveals a low lighted office with a desk low to the ground and some cushions around it. There are a few filing cabinets and several beanbags dotted around the room.
It is decorated in a red, black, and gold oriental style, with several bonsai trees and a planter with bamboo in it set on various cabinets and furniture.
There are no normal chairs in the room, just the couch, beanbags, and cushions.
"Please, do have a seat."
He gestures to a beanbag near his desk. He pulls a paper and a book from the cabinet along with a silly pen decorated to look like a bamboo sprig.
"Yes, Nate is. We're good friends."
she looks at the beanbag strangely, before plopping into it.
"Geez, this is a school... Is fighting really that common?"
"More than I would like, yes."
He offers her the page and pen on a clipboard.
"This is a registration form. As you are from this planet, you don't need to take history of agartha, but as you stated you haven't had much formal education, I would suggest it. Everyone is required to take either basic or advanced physical education. When I say advanced, I mean, very advanced. Dance or other related classes are offered as a substitute. Please select five classes, one is the p.e. and one may be a free period for personal projects, study etc, but you don't have to have it if you want full classes."
He leaves the book on his desk and plops himself down heavily on one of the cushions.
"Wow... There are a good few fighting classes... I could defiantly use some formal training in magic, advanced PE is probably best, as I'm already very strong and very fast."
she pauses, then chuckles.
"I think that had better wait until after basic magic, Nate."
"I would suggest some kind of self defense class. I won't elaborate, but it seems that many of the students find it necessary at some point or other."
He straightens some odds and ends on the desk.
"Please do try to be as thorough as possible in the information section. It will help us to know you well for classes and medical emergencies. If you are interested in clubs or or music, other extracurriculars, there is a bulletin board a few feet down the hall that you may want to look at. All the campus news is on there."
"I can handle myself well... But if you think it's a good idea, I'll look over the self defense classes."
she squirms a little at the mention of filling out a medical emergencies form.
He notices her discomfort at the mention of it.
"It's OK. There's a good chance that we'll never need to treat you for anything. But, if we ever do, it is good to have it."
He's very reassuring, but then again, it's his job to be so.
"That.... Isn't my concern."
"What is your concern, then?"
"There are certain things about me I'd... rather not mention. "
"I can tell you in good confidence that only the medical professionals will see your form and only then when neccesary. It is in your and our best interests that we have everything that could be relevant in an emergency. There is nothing worth hiding that is worth risking your health and safety over."
"I..."
she sighs, and silently fills out the form.
"So, do you have any other classes you recommend? I'm torn between unarmed combat and two handed weapons. One lets me feel my prey's blood on my hands, the other is much more efficient."
"It's for your best interests." He attempts a comforting smile.
He is caught slightly off guard by her suddenly violent change of voice.
"I am fairly sure that unarmed combat isn't intended as a hunting technique, unless you mean people, in which case, I believe we should leave a free period in your schedule with alternating normal study hall and occasional sessions here. Many students like to have an art class or some such, something they can take less seriously. I know that we have theatre classes that could be fun, if you're inclined to such."
"Normally i hunt with this."
she draws a staff from her back. It's shoddy, and little more then a over-glorified stick.
"It works fine... Also, if i wanted to kill people, i wouldn't call it hunting. Far, far too easy to be hunting."
the arrows don't seem to make up thier mind for a while, until they finally settle to pointing on one direction. They eventually lead you to tarka's room. Inside her room it is totally dark, quite moist, and smells of light amounts of mildew.
Grim knocks on the door "hello? Takra? Are you awake and stuff?"
"Come in, I'm not here. I'm pretending to be asleep."
tarka says out the door.
Grim opens the door "hello? I'm here to invite you and Lewis on a trip with me and my friends"
"Tarka, you know you don't sleep."
He reaches out and turns the doorknob at his height. There is one above it for a normal human height and one below it for Tarka-size use.
"Where did you get a room from? We don't have a room."
Sara was never the most observant one, so she has not yet become aware of Lang's presence.
If Lang is viewing the spiritual realm at all times, he may notice that a group of very thin strings are run from the area around Sara's heart and into various directions, disappearing into walls when they run into them. One especially thick string is connected to Cariban and another, bigger than the rest, but not as big as Cariban's is connected to her shirt pocket that the young otter sleeps in.
None of the strings are connected to any people, but if people walk through the halls, they pass through them harmlessly.
Lang moves a bit closer. then tries to get Sara's attention.
lang makes a warm breeze blow through Sara's hair
there's no-one in the room. Grim feels someone tap his shoulder, Only to see a grinning tarka behind him.
After Carl leaves,
Mel looks over to Igni, you don't have to stay here, but I'm glad you are here. It's nice to have friends
"Yes, it is. especially when you don't deserve them."
igni says with a gentle sigh as he works on his blade.
Mel hurries and finishes a mouthful of chocolate and jumps out of the bed, knocking a bunch of papers on the floor.Carl, wait she yells rushing over to him.
when he turns around mel gives him a big warm hug.
Thank's, for the flowers, and the candy.
Odd though, one would think Mel would have a boyfriend, or someone here.
As Mel hugs him he freezes go's bright red then nods, he moves his arm and pats her back.
"It's all right lass, we're all just worried about you an all, you looked in a bad way there for a bit."He brakes the hug,
"Now I has to go, but next trip down Tinman will come see ya, you let me know if you need and thing and he will bring it alright. Your a bit n shock right now, best get some rest, do what the doc says and try an keep out of trouble, and remember where all going out on the two soon, be a grand night. So ya got at get batter for that a Mel, you promise me now"
He says with a big grin. Then looks over at Igni
"Keep her safe lad, ya going a grand job, it's all nice an peaceful here. If you need any thing Igni let me know I'll get Tinman at bring it for ya. O nice bit of forging work that"
He smiles once more then activates his arm band, teleporting back to the Hammershaft to help with the unloading.
"Yes, it is. especially when you don't deserve them."
Igni says with a gentle sigh as he works on his blade.
Mel seems a bit insulted at Igni's comment, What? are you saying I don't deserve to have friends? if you feel that way about me then why stay here.
Igni may have meant something else, but Mel probably totally misunderstood what he meant.
"I didn't mean you, melody."

Mel gives that embarrassed look. Oh, then who do you mean then?
"Gah! Hey uh like I was saying we were going to invite you guys to come with us, Lewis said he wouldn't go without you"
he looks up for just a moment.
"Me."
Mel give Igni her full attention now.
you are sounding like Kai now. What makes you so sure you don't deserve friends. I mean from what I can tell, you have done nothing to warrant such a statement.

she gathers her courage and hops off the bed and goes to sit beside Igni, I am so sorry, Mel is a bit at a loss for words at the moment but Igni can tell this troubles her, He hand on his shoulder.
"Probobly because I'm a bit of a jerk when I'm upset.... And yea, he tired to inject my eye with that."
he points to the broken syringe on the floor with ice surrounding it.
Keme is returning some cleaning equipment to a broom closet."Keme, do you have a moment? There is a familial matter I wish to discuss with you." he waits, then quickly adds
"If you have time, that is."
"Yeah, I've got time. The investigation of who killed Kitty is pretty well stalled. I already finished cleaning up the animal hospital..."
"Though I can't think what familial matter would need discussing with me," he added with a raised eyebrow.

I want his recommendation as well before assigning you a faculty advisor. And I'd advise staying away from me. You remind me of someone I used to know. It's not a compliment," she said as she released him from his restraints and gestured towards the now open door. "And please refrain from using your magic on other students until you have a better handle on the side effects."
"Yes, but have you ever tried apologizing for being a pain in the butt? I bet the answer is no. Having that come out of the blue would confuse even Tyrrin," she teased.Ehos' grin widened slightly, real laughter in his eyes if not in sound. 'Well, I suppose there is a first time for everything. Even Tyrrin being confused! I mean, you actually did homework last night! Maybe the other Eight hells are freezing over.'
"Well, anything is possible," she said with a shrug and the first real smile he'd seen from her in a while. "Tyrrin was even irresponsible yesterday. That happens about as often as I do homework."
Lang finds Sara in the hallway talking with Zilla and Ignace.

Lang takes a deep breath, but stays back nervous about approaching.

Ignace catches sight of Lang and turns away uncomfortable.
"I think I should maybe head back to the sewing room now."
Once they get the cake, Ace walks it over to one of the tables in the caf, sets it down and fishes in one of his belt pockets briefly. He pulls a candle out, lights it with a minor spell, and places it in the cake.
"Happy Birthday, Ace," she said giving him a kiss on the cheek.
"Make a wish!" she added, smiling warmly.
Ace grins and closes his eyes "I wish I had an awesome girlfriend" He then turns and looks at Ginni, feigning surprise. "Oh look, it came true"

glancing at the broken syringe all she can do is sigh. you haven't been a jerk to me, if it matters at all. Mel adds trying to help Igni feel more deserving of friends.
