Ace is about six feet five inches tall, with curly black hair and a pair of several inch long horns sticking above his forehead. If Krays knows or has seen Ginni, his horns look just like hers, but longer

He has stormy grey eyes, and a scruffy bead. When he talks, fangs are visible. He's dressed in a causal button down shirt, serviceable pants and a belt with eight pockets. In his hand is a long quarter staff inscribed with runes and black ravens.

The young man holds out his hand to the black scaled kobold. "Well met, I am Casil or Ace, as you prefer."

"Yeah, it's pretty awesome actually. It can take a little bit for your room to acclimate to you and what you want from it...I take it you haven't spent much time in yours yet? Well, anyways, the room becomes whatever you want. If you want your bedroom to look like a palace, it does, if you want it to look like a tent on the plains, it does. At one point or another though, Vare does interject, feeling perhaps a bit left out of the conversation, or perhaps feeling the need to voice his opinion over a certain issue: "Jaiye, I understand what you are saying - but I did not come here for authority or any measure of power over others. I came because this is a place of acceptance, and to share my knowledge with other as I am able. You are right though - deception is not my strong suit, and I would not wish to be forcefully separated from Anahita. If the Headmaster requires it of me, I will take whatever demotion he deems necessary. It is not - after all - wages that I had sought here." he intones to the conversation, his hand disengaged from Anahita and placed firmly upon his chin - unless she wishes to maintain the gesture.

With his opinion on that particular issue voiced, Vare falls back into silence, allowing the girls to continue their conversation. He felt as though there might be some bond between them - perhaps something unspoken they had shared - Anahita seemed to trust Jaiye more implictly than any other student he had observed with her... though. His experience in that field was undoubtedly limited.

Ehos seems torn between wanting to get answers from the corpse and... something of an apparent self-imposed duty to go to see Jaiye. He looks to his demon friend, seeking council. ::Phaeze... I don't know what to do anymore. I... have to go to Jaiye. At least to... tell her that I am sorry. She deserves someone better than me. I can't magic myself clean though - I can't cast even the most basic spell to cleanse myself though, as you know.::

To the group though, he displays with his datapad, looking remiss: 'Phaezeriel said he will take me back... but I bid you to please not stop. Yesterday this man was happy and healthy... I don't know what the hell is going on here, but I'm worried that this man's memory may have been tampered with before he died, if he cannot even remember his own daughter.' That he had said darkness... it must have happened last night - his death. Before any of this demon summoning madness.

In his worries, Ehos' free hand (the one not holding the datapad), dips momentarily into one of his pouches with a pain look. He appears to briefly toy with something in the pouch before removing his hand again from it.

It was proving to be a difficult task, and in the end her compassion for the younger girl won out over her hard-drilled need to respect social boundries and her elders. Midori ends up turning her back on all four of the people to whom she was supppsoed to show respect - Ephebe, Ryuzo and both her parents, to place her hands on the Sara's shoulders in a comforting manner. Professor Mara wrote:

"I always sensed that you would be someone who would appreciate this." Professor Mara swiftly uncovered the parcel that he had rested on the table, revealing a brain suspended in a magical glass container. "This is the brain of the human form of my former rival, archmage Bakasura. At least, that's what he called himself in his community. This is a really beautiful specimen and my greatest accomplishment, back from the days of my youth"

"You see, Baka was always a skilled shapeshifter and illusionist. He would replace a respected member of the community by essentially subsuming the body and keeping the mind dominated in the brain. That way, magic would be fooled and the knowledge of the old mind remained. Through my magical trickery, I fooled him into thinking that I would provide the townspeople with spells that could detect the presence of two closely-intertwined minds inside a single body. He responded by binding himself more firmly to the soul of the scholar inhabiting the body, whose name I can't quite remember, to fool the divination magic...Anyways, the paranoia, that I inspired, drove him to bind himself too tightly and as a result, he now required a physical body to sustain him and perform his magic."

Professor Mara takes out a model of a brain from his briefcase. "You see, the brain is divided up into zones that most humanoid races use to harness magic. Here in the fore-brain are the cognition skills required to harness arcane power. Back here, around a centimeter deep, is the limbic cortex, which is responsible for delusions and ironically, most divine magic." He picks up the glass brain-jar and turns it around to give her a better look. The brain appears to have a few sections precisely removed in clean blocks, in the areas that he had mentioned earlier were used for arcane magic. "After I defeated him in battle, I carefully excised the parts of the brain most responsible for battle magics. Unfortunately it's diminished his usefulness, but at least he can still use divination and limited telepathy. Plus, I can carry him around safely and he can enjoy the rest of life in quiet contemplation. Cool, right?"

When the brain is first revealed Karish's expression is a mix of bizarre surprise and sudden disgust. However, as the Rakshasa's tale unfolds, she finds herself more and more interested in the details and the obvious care and effort expended in the creation of this object and the persistence of the core sentience inside. The enemy might be defeated and ... well, utterly at the Rakshasa's mercy, but that he was preserved like this was a wonder. Besides, if he told true, the man hadn't been the pinnacle of morality himself. An illusionist and shapeshifter... almost too similar to the tale of Haures the Dreaming Duke himself.

"That's... bizarre. Amazing, though. How thorough is his telepathy?" She doesn't wait for the rakshasa's answer, instead opening her own telepathic channel to the captive brain and attempting to communicate with it, knowing that the shield of the Vestiges around her mind would protect her from any retributive telepathic attacks but allow through simple dialogue. <Greetings, stranger.>

The return of Melody alongside Renkai was disconcerting for Repp - though he chose not to broadcast that emotion to the group. So many big people here - all of whom might be dangerous. All of whom could overpower him. He couldnt' take that risk - couldn't trust that the school's wards would do as everyone said that would. He had to take action.

He sets his mind to detecting the thoughts of the folks in the room - wishing to know before hand if they were going to be agressive towards him.

Repp is attempting to detect the surface thoughts of every person in the room. This is a mind-affecting ability. Will save is DC33. It has no special ability to overcome immunities or break through enchantments protecting the mind.

If anyone has Detect Magic active, they can see a cone of magical energy radiating out from Repp's forehead to envelop everyone in the room. Minds trained for such things may notice a very subtle probing, though from whom is not immediately apparent (unless Detect Magic or a similar spell is active).

Rena also spoke to me this morning of wanting to enroll in the school as a student." he seemed to momentarily wander off into a tangent, distracted by the mention of conditions.

"You... Oh. I think I understand." he glances at Jaiye. Anahita learned from her... about... being intimate. That only made sense then, why Jaiye felt it appropriate to council him on such things. "Jaiye, if you could council me as well - whom should I speak with, that I am not falling too far behind in this... race." that last word is say with a grin, and then a warm smile to Anahita as they walk along.

::No, but I can.:: With a slight smile for his friend, Phaeqeriel bends what is real and Ehos is clean, his clothes seemingly fresh from his clothes press, with any damage to them undone. Phaezeriel's voice is a little teasing but in a good natured tone, ::You really must let me teach you how to do this psionics one of these days.::

Did Ace ask the question about better identification of the killer?

While they are all standing there, discussing what exactly to do next, Ace suddenly swoons a bit on his feet as he gets a sudden telepathic flash of insight into what's been bothering Ehos.

"Something really bad happened between you and Jaiye, didn't it Ehos? And you feel terrible about it."

the hands tear the ground below you asunder, while you float safely above.

He glides through the air as he heads for the other side of the river.

you make it to the other side. Going very far away from the river results in leaving a stable Aria, and likely death by ever-changing environment. The Styx seems to be the only "safe" place for as far as you can see.

the river never seems to end. After you follow it for a while, a legion of dreches begin fishing souls out of the river. They pay you no heed.

He lands and looks over the group, trying to be logical about this.

they silently fish for a while, then a few of the craven creatures start arguing about who saw what first. A fight breaks out, killing 5 of them. The rest just keep fishing, not even turning their heads to the event.
