"Uh, nope. I was a new student here and didn't know anyone, so no one noticed that I was missing." mew mew mew, sad cat
"Well, I'm very sorry that has happened. It shouldn't happen again. Now, I'll see to getting that spell removed from you, alright?" He waits for her to agree before bustling off towards the central station of the infirmary, speaks to a woman at the desk - who seems to be in charge - and then goes to a closet marked 'Scroll Storage'.
After several moments, he returns with a scroll, who he then hands to the woman who appears to be in charge.
The woman comes over, does a quick check on the datapad she is carrying, and then looks over the cat curled up on the bed. She unfurls the scroll and casts the spell, and the enchantment upon Jen is broken.
"There you are. We've got the security system keeping tabs on you, so you shouldn't have to worry about spending another few months trapped in stone. Let us know if you have any more problems, alright?" the head healer says sweetly, before turning away to go back over to the station, and then to check on several other patients in the infirmary. The triage nurse from before is standing there, but doesn't say anything beyond: "You are free to go, Jen." he has to double check his datapad to make sure he got the name right.

knowing how perceptive melody is, you may very well note that the length of the interaction has influenced how much emotion he feels. The longer you talk to him, the more he feels.
"I was simply copying you. I can mimic sound, as my speech is, well, simply me vibrating. If i do it a different way, i get a different sound."
"I am all human. I was a human, for a time. I eventually became this. I have no recollection of the time before this. I had been worried that if i was to remember, i would no longer be myself... But the mo i think about it, i realize that... I am still the old me, even if my mind has decayed. Locking my emotions up because of what i perceived myself as... Well, i don't need to. You remind me what humans are good for. I still feel reluctance to remember, but honestly, i feel i must."

Jen the Cat |

Jen thanks the nurse and returns to the waiting gnome. "You may have heard from the nurse that my name is Jen. My one and only name. What's yours?"
Having observed the cafeteria for months, Jen has overheard lots of conversation and is eager to master the craft.
"I don't know an awakened cat is. I'm just a cat, at least that's what people tell me. I like the chase mice, how about you?"

Tybalt Baneko |

"I can do you one better." He slips off a medallion. "This is the cold half of an endure elements charm. Found a pair of them together. Use it once in the morning and it lasts until that time tomorrow." He hands it to Pyry. "I know a lot about how you feel."

Ghalen Kiln |

Well obviously it could be due to something magical, that's why I made the skill check :)
Should I assume, then, that this is deific or higher if a 34 isn't enough to even get a hint?

Repp seems much less imtimidating than the other bigger folk - probably because of his short stature, but also he has a generally charming and likeable demeanor. Nothing in his stance is threatening is any way, and his smile is good-natured and true. To Jen's cat senses, he smells vaguely of worked steel, though it is distant and subtle.
"I have many names, and it shifts constantly. However, one which does not change is Repparyn, or Repp if you prefer. Pleasure to make your acquantance Jen." He says in a friendly way, though isn't overly formal with his gestures or speech. "I have never chased mice. Do you enjoy being the hunter then... stalking prey and then striking all at once? Do you prefer stealth, or a chase?"

Grim, Ignace and Lang are all there. Sorchan and Pyra are not.
"As Tybalt and David have said - there are many ways we can protect you against the heat and make you comfortable. And as Oneiro said, it is probably best if we go about our task, to give you time to mull over your thoughts. We will respect your wishes - whatever they may be. Just remember that you are not alone in your struggles."

Jen the Cat |

Even though Repp is of short stature, Jen still needs to crane her head up to talk to him. She sets down her bookbag and sits on it to find a better vantage point.
"Alright, Repp! I think that I prefer chasing mice, since it's just too easy to sneak up to them and POUNCE! But when I fight, I can't do that. I have honor to defend. I'm not supposed to run from fights, but I'm still working on that."
"If you're not a hunter, then are you prey?"

after the Headmaster replies, Sun turns to the bloody guy.
He is my best friend and companion. He went up to the Sun to find a temple and now he vanished. I know he was walking among the spirits but they were spirits that were strange to me.

most interesting, Do you want to why i was seeing Miss Jones? I have a problem with memories. you see locked up in here (pointing to her head) are lots of memories, and some of them are not mine. I discovered i have an unusual gift. I can enter another person's mind and experience their memories as if they were my own. and I can lock them away in my own mind, and apparently I can also remove memories from people as well. the good thing is I can only do this if the person agrees to it I cannot force my way in. So now you have an interesting situation, I wonder if I can enter a mind and find lost or missing memories?

"If you're not a hunter, then are you prey?"
"I pity the hunter that believes I am prey." Repp responds with an easy confidence, a smile upon his face. Noticing she was having some difficulty looking at him, Repp sits down in a cross-legged manner.
"Why are you so honour-bound?" Repp asks curiously, looking over the cat with a trained eye.
Refresh my memory... what is Jen wearing/carrying, and what breed/colouration is she?

whoa please slow down. I only learned this literally 10 minutes before I met you, well actually I learned it a long time ago but only now I learned a bit on how to control it better. I really don't want you to be a guinea pig so to speak, you see, I like you as you are now, I don't want to mess that up.
besides we really should have some one else here to watch over and find a way to keep your acid from hurting my head since we do have to have contact for the entire time

Jen draws a ruby-crystalline hilt with no blade, around the size of a pinky finger, from a belt beneath her school uniform. The hilt is almost "engraved" with char marks from the hottest flames and blends in with Jen's orange-tan fur. She holds it out for Repp to look at.
"I have been given these powers: my sentience, my agility, my skill at arms, to defend the race of cats, wherever they are threatened. I also choose, on my own free will, to defend all that is good."
"But, I am still not courageous. Everyone around here seems to be so helpful. Aren't they honor-bound to help those in need as well?"

If the magnificent group of students turned town saviors do in fact re-visit the once ignited and flame wrought location that was previously the tailor shop, they will find the following...
A smoldering shop. The sea water (I think?) having put out most of the fire via Dom, and the magical bottle's deluge, as well as assistance by others, various look-e-lou's, and within the shop, apparently smack dab in the middle of the blaze, a corpse, burnt to a crisp, yet, very moist.
It wouldn't take long to realize the flames seemed to have started from the corpse, who's burnt shape suggests a male, though there are little to no details of looks and such, with a massive chest cavity-- literally, as if something just reached in and tore out the heart area with nice sharp claws (like a dragons!?) or similar.
Thankfully, none of the locals will get close enough, yet.
Please let me know if you guys wanna do anything specific here, otherwise, I'm assuming that your ungodly perception rolls give you what you see above. Kind of pointless to put DC 25s when that's a default roll, neh?

Jen 'grasps' things with telekenisis, correct?
"By no means am I, at least, honour-bound to help. I do so because I recognize that I may need help someday, and would want a similar reaction from those around me - an eagerness to help." Repp says simply, and with a shrug as he examines the hilt which Jen had drawn. "I'm sure you're a fearsome warrior, but your weapon lacks a blade, Jen." he says in a friendly way, almost jokingly.
"As for courage... just remember: danger may be real... but fear is a choice. Succumbing to fear is choosing to do so." Repp says seriously, his piercingly red eyes still watching the hilt carefully.

Jen the Cat |

Yes
Jen nods at Repp's wise words. She looks around to make sure that she has enough space. "Even though many of my skills are innate, I think they still need practice. I've been looking for skilled weapon masters to spar with." As she says this, a snaking whip of fire begins to extend from her hilt. Sparks, flames, and gusts of frost dance along the fifteen foot length of the whip until they dissipate at the very end.
She flicks the whip rapidly, yet imperceptibly, to keep the whip bunched up and hidden so that she doesn't get in trouble.
"A whole year. A whole year since I've last drawn this weapon. And a whole year since I've helped anyone," she says with a sigh of regret.

"Sadly, I am not a master of weapons, and so I cannot fulfill your sparing wish. However, let me say that you /are/ helping someone, right now. My afternoon has been considerably more interesting with your presence." he responds evenly, watching Jen flick the whip this way and that. "There was a young man by the name of Ace... arrogant to say the least, but I believe he has some skill with weaponry. Perhaps you could ask him to spar with you." the gnome says thoughtfully, though the tone of his voice would suggest that the topic was nothing less mundane than the weather. After the fact, he adds: "I never fight, except in self-defense. It is... difficult for me to pull my punches, at it were."

Vai Sunwake |

Standing, Ace snatches up his staff "Ya know, you were very brave back there, jumping instantly through a portal that lead to gods nowhere in the Abyss." He says as they walk towards the shop that Vai and the others were helping with.
Vai shakes her head, part of her hair still blocking her face, though the blush and a sheepish smile are still there. "Not at all... Phaeze didn't hesitate to... to save me from... to save me. I could hardly sit by and do the same while my friend was taken from me. I wasn't even thinking about what could happen to me."

Vai's Perception is only +11 at the moment... but with Ace here it shouldn't be a problem.
When she and Ace arrive and begin to assess the damage in the shop, Ace points out the body at the center of the shop. At first she's curious... but then the burnt and moistness of the body... the freshness of it... her stomach heaves slightly and she is forced to take a few steps outside the shop to rid herself of the nauseating image of the body. She had seen battle before... but it had always been against some horrible monster... she wasn't truly prepared for a corpse like that, despite all that she had been through.

Roel |

"I see. Sorry, i just assumed you wanted to try. You didn't elaborate too much, so i assumed it was safe. My apologies. Also, it seems i have less control over the acid after it leaves me... At least, that would explain why you needed to shake it off earlier."

Jen's face lights up with happiness. "I think I shall take that advice. It'll give me a good chance to roam around the school grounds and meet new people. Before I go, you should take this." She hands Repp an ioun stone, dull and gray. "I'm not sure what tools the school has to find people, since I heard about those nanites earlier, but this will let you find me."
Jen retracts her flaming whip and scampers off into the hallway in search of new friends and adventures.

Jen the Cat |

Despite Repp's assertions that not everyone in the school was following a strict code, Jen can't help but feel that he was wrong. She just can't shake the feeling, as she scampered along the hallways to the school gardens. No...there was something there; she could feel it.
Jen clambers onto the rooftop and sees some sort of warrior in deep prayer, a soothing sort of prayer. She waits silently, not hiding, but not eager to disturb the sacred act.

Reed Plainsong |

Reed headed toward the building with his tiger in tow. He was worried about something he'd seen in a dream; a large group of humans chanting to open a portal, a creature coming out of it, then darkness. "This is troubling," he muttered.

Jen the Cat |

Jen overhears the muttering of a minotaur walking with his pet tiger. She uses her flame whip to lower herself down from her ledge and approaches the minotaur from behind.
Stealth: 1d20 + 40 ⇒ (8) + 40 = 48
Not aware of human customs of not sneaking up behind people, Jen suddenly appears on the minotaur's shoulders. "What's troubling?

Melody Waverider |

"Alright."
he performs exactly as he did before.
Melody claps at the performance.
you did great. You see this is the first step to learning music. you have the ability to mimic the sounds now the next step is to take the sound you are able to produce but rearrange them in a new pattern that reflects how you feel. Once you do this then you will have the basics needed to progress. right now we are establishing your feel for rhythm.
Melody looks at Roel excitedly waiting to see what he does on his own without mimicking.
So go ahead and give it a try then.

Melody Waverider |

"Umm..."
what happens can not be described as "music". More like an assault on your ears.
Melody winces but tries to hide it.
That was....different, maybe you were not cut out to play music. but rather listen. you know, sometimes musicians mess up and forget their place. you just might be perfect for a prompt.
melody is obviously attempting to find the best place for Roel to use the talents he has shown so far.
you keen hearing and ability to mimic just might be useful for that job.
Melody thinks a moment Roel how would you like to be a part of my recording team?
