Djalos Tyon |
Djalos is an excellent student, excelling at all of his courses-though not, of course, to the point where he should probably be instructing rather than being a student. Of particular note is the Light Blades class, where, in absence of a true "instructor," he takes up the role of mentor with Sadie.
The young elf spends his lunches with Belyu and her social group. He is mostly quiet, although they can occasionally draw a deadpan quip or a small smile from him. He spends the rest of his free time either in his room, being a complete mystery to his roommate, or making use of the SIM room's time dilation to train and do homework.
Jacob Forgehand |
This is assuming Ephebe returns to her teaching duties.
After a brief scare when Ephebe walks into the classroom and sees the aura of an immensely powerful, supposedly extinct demon on Jacob, everything returns to normal for him. Jacob quickly adapts to his new surroundings, making fast friends with Grim (if that's okay). He is also an excellent student, although he occasionally disappears into the library for some inscrutable reason. However, his classmates and the teacher can occasionally see beneath the cheerful veneer, and see the melancholy beneath as he stares off out the window to the rebuilding Kuros.
narrator |
The refugees from the starship are sorted out, with most of them being sent to Kuros where the locals are more than capable of filling them in on what kind of world they've landed on. Though there are a few misunderstandings in trying to explain that the dragon is only in charge because he signs the pay checks and that anyone is free to leave and go wherever they like.
The second group, those with extensive injuries or whose mutations might put them in danger in the wider world are sent to Avalon, to a newly formed wing in the infirmary. Whether or not they understand that they are not prisoners here is debatable, but the infirmary staff repeat the point over and over, and there is a door to the outside in this wing that is left open to reassure those who have trouble believing it.
Newly introduced mutants can feel free to summarize their own experiences here. Assume that medical care is given as necessary and basic education about where they are is provided. Whether or not they listen is up to you.
narrator |
Ginni remains in the infirmary during the week, enduring the achingly slow process of having her psyche reassembled.
Tami has basically moved into the infirmary, although they occasionally force her to leave in order to sleep. She has been excused from classes for the week, especially since she is so very helpful as the infirmary is adjusting to the staffing changes necessitated by the attacks.
Morrivan is brought to the deal Sol house along with Raelle to have time to recover. Both girls are excused from classes for the week, and Morrivan spends most of her days just sitting by the lake, usually with her feet dangling into the water. It's the only thing that comforts her.
Raelle keeps insisting she's fine, but her first day out of the infirmary she goes into a fugue state again until she collapses, the walls of her room, the hallway and half of the living room covered with strange circular symbols. In desperation, she's given a psionic suppression item, which she hates wearing because she says it makes her mind feel fuzzy. But it's decided that it's the best thing for her until she can start taking lessons in how to control her abilities. Her class schedule is also rearranged, over her protests in some cases as she didn't want to give up mathemagics. But apparently if you understand equations in circular gallifreyan then there really isn't anything the curriculum has to teach you.
Ori Reading |
As lovely as it is spending a week in the library, Ori's research is not particularly helpful. There's plenty to learn about kami, but none of it mentions how to calm down an angry one, especially if you happen to be it.
She has also taken to spending a lot of time in the gardens. It certainly seems to help her sense of calm.
Nala Zamarosok |
Nala's research is both more fruitful and more disturbing. She is left contemplating how to send a message to the Winter Queen that will actually be believed. But she also fears (and hopes) that the Queen's powers are waning. The way that hers keep growing certainly seem to point that direction. Or maybe that was just another portent of what was coming. All she knows for sure is that the barriers are crumbling and it is only a matter of time before the War begins again.

When Lang and the others return to school, they find that things got pretty fiery in their absence. Nobody is picking on Ignace anymore, but it takes a couple of days to convince her to leave the infirmary. And she seems to have acquired an attachment, as Phaedra, the ever snotty, follows her around everywhere insisting that they're friends while being rude to literally everyone else. Except Mrs. Blackscales because the teacher is much scarier than she had been led to believe. There was nothing wrong with Phaedra's survival instincts.
Asha Soleil |
Asha leaves the SIM room for a bit to make sure Pyry knows where she is before going back to wait again while Tryko'Sam is put back together. She waits until he's making rude remarks again before she leaves, certain that he's back to 'normal' if not exactly always likable. He could be a very complicated friend to have.
Bradley Urquardht |
It takes until the end of the day before Bradley is able to be released from the infirmary for his own good. But he eventually ends up back in the pigeon loft, collapsing exhausted onto his cot.
Janie |
Much to Janie's annoyance, her audition kept getting put off and put off. Hard to join a band when they're all too busy dealing with their own personal crises. So she just went about her business as usual. Practicing drums. Calling down a rainstorm in the cafeteria (so worth the detention). Hanging out with Gavin.
Ryuzo Kato |
Having kept himself out of the recent Champion kerfuffle, Ryuzo spends his time prepping for classes and spending time with or helping out Nala however he can...
Rylehtin'akksavith |
It wasn't an easy process, learning control. Especially from two ancient and oddly impatient dragons. But slowly and surely, Aleqyq begins to develop control. It comes with great difficulty at first. He exhausts himself the first day just trying to shrink his aura down a mere five feet. The second day he manages that, but passes out and has to be rescued from the water when he tries to shrink it down further. By the third day he was able to shrink it almost as far as his skin, but it was nigh impossible to hold it there. By the fifth day, today, he is told that his control is good enough that he can attend school and has been assigned a room there. He may still have accidents, but Ryleh assures him that it is nothing that the school is not prepared to handle.
Al'rqyq mn Al'kwabys |
After his moderate success with his mentor, Al goes through the somber and somewhat frightening task of packing up what little belongings he has and move on to campus. He visits the admissions area and gets a room assigned, and works out his first class assignments. He visits Ryleh frequently, hoping he is not too much of an irritation. He is still not used to people being accepting of him or wanting him to remain. Upon her recommendation, he makes sure he signs up for meditation twice a day. He has hope that he can achieve what Ryleh expects of him, and will work hard to show he appreciates her attention.
His confusion is compounded when he sees his room, but is pleasantly surprised as the room changes to work more for him, having an elevated sleeping area, with a more wooded feel to the room. He sighs and begins to arrange his things, and worries about his future here.
Gavin Trell |
Gavin spends his time like usual, attending class, studying, and hanging out with Janie. Her pranks are almost always questioned with a "are you sure?", but he enjoys them none-the-less, and will happily spend some time in detention for their shenanigans, accepting the punishment as the price of disobeying the rules.
Lang Fei |
before the time skip...
the remainder of the party is pretty boring. Lang always introduces Sara as his sister and many of the younger air temple students try to make her feel welcome. they even give her an air temple robe and some keep bringing all sorts of animals for her to talk too. Lang tries to actually dance with Midori but her being uncomfortable with it it never does happen.
after a bit the group gathers together and are teleported back to the school. in just enough time to get some sleep before classes the next day.
Chao Yin |
The one bit of excitement happened when chao and a couple of other boys use a rather impressive combination of magic and bending to pants the young avatar in front of his crush and probably would have gotten away with it too if they hadn't been heard laughing their asses off.
When they make their way to the designated teleport area one of the masters approach with a sullen looking Chao Yin in tow. The old master explains that chao still has much to learn, but that they believe themselves not to be the ones best equipped to teach him
Fei, of the Sun Soul |
Fei sequesters himself in the shop for the rest of the afternoon and into the evening. Sending the information he receives from Aananda to his lace, he then goes about creating dozens of energy batteries.
As they are completed, the young monk takes them and begins to literally plant the bettery pylons in the ground, 'seeding' a power corridor between Avalon and the Kuros factory just out of sight of the road connecting the two locations. Using nanites generated from his suit to facilitate the process, he makes sure each one is buried at an equivalent level to the batteries in the school's basement level to ensure no casual digging will be able to reach them.
Once they are all in place, Fei sends a command to each pylon to run a connection to each of its adjacent 'neighbors', allowing for smoother power transmission (and the ability to cut said connections at each pylon in case of...surges).
Once that is done, he enters the factory (presuming he now has security clearance), and adds a charging receptacle to the building's own power system that will allow him to add power to it as he does at Avalon, and to connect the facility to the power corridor.
He finishes this task as the sun begins to crest the horizon. He heads back to the school to meet Vai on the green for their obeisances, then begin his (revised) routine of classes in the mornings, and training at the factory (and briefly reconnecting with his friend Jeran as they cross paths slightly more often now than before). ;)
Lang Fei |
Time skip stuff here...
Over the next week, Lang seemed really happy at the beginning of the week. but he seemed more and more sullenas the days would pass. He moved his seat away from Ignace, remembering the situation form before.
A couple of times he went to the sewing room to meet Ignace but never went in. it seemed out of habit. a habit that he needed to break. He seemed to miss being with her.
he concentrated more on his bending and his studies. and he decided to take his lunch outside with Sara and Sun. it was almost the only time he would smile, but even they could tell something was missing.
He avoided Ignace as much as he could but there were times he would sit and stare. just watching her, then he would break out of it as Grim or Sun or even Sara would grab his attention. even Midori seemed to be absent, she had other things that were probably important.
Raelle del Sol |
Friday afternoon
Raelle sat on the grass outside, soaking in the sunshine. Because waiting around in the infirmary was just too depressing. Ginni was still unconscious. There was still nothing she could do to help. Melody was still missing. There was nothing she could do to help with that either. And she couldn't believe she was even saying this, but she actually missed going to classes. She knew she'd get in trouble if she was caught sitting out here alone. After all, there was still a murderer on the loose. But it was this or take off the stupid inhibitor and cover her room in math graffiti again.
Alright, folks, here we are, post time skip. Please feel free to post as you like. :)
Adon Derro |
Adon walks outside, walking away from school grounds. A wicked grin across his face, a book in one hand, and a rapier in the other. His sword hand figdets with his blade, twirling and twitching. He seems to be unphased by all the recent events, indeed, he even seems happier then normal.
Korren Blake |
Just gonna slip my time skip summaries in here.
Korren, having withdrawn nearly entirely, is brought into the infirmary and has remained there. He has made no attempt to use the open door in the ward. towards the end of the week, the infirmary staff has started to get some amount of responses from Korren, but they have learned that any reference to psychological techniques causes him extreme mental stress.
Kezzin |
Kezzin is back in classes the following day, and most of the people in Avalon who knew of it have no memory of his impact with the wall and subsequent disappearance. In point of fact, they have memories of him attending classes for the rest of that day and the rest of the week. Andromeda senses some residual time-altered effect around him for a couple of days, but cannot pinpoint what it was. One notable exception to the memory alteration is Lily Svarog, who remembers all too well what it felt like to have her skull crushed at high speed.
Phaezeriel |
Phaezeriel finds himself very busy between teaching introductory psionics and a couple of special cases in the infirmary. Most of his healing efforts are dedicated to helping Ginni put her mind back together and reassuring Raelle and a few of Ginni's other friends that she was healing well. What little free time he had was spent with Vai or Ephebe or playing music for Ephebe's maturing eggs.
Cindra Svarog |
Cindra spent the week in a very good mood. She found that she had a real talent for going unseen, even in the most well lit area and under direct observation. Professor Strider had even lost track of her for a moment or two in class. She was also enjoying the relative anonymity of life in the academy, but would like to make a few new friends; a difficult task for someone most people do not notice.
Alys Himuro |
Alys' week was very frustrating. Her inability to speak, and her prohibition on speaking from Nala made her sullen and moody. Her one true escape was found in the Light Blades class. Though she never drew the katana that was always at her waist, she did prove a reasonable level of proficiency in the class and enjoyed spending time with Ehos.
Djalos Tyon |
Djalos, though normally very reserved and melancholy, loves sparring and dancing with blades. His favorite partners for sparring are Alys, Adon, and Sadie, whose graceful style neatly complements his own. He can occasionaly be spotted with a small grin while doing so.
Jessa Mar'Niell |
Jessa also had a difficult week as her sociopathic and murderous self kept asserting control; she spent a large amount of time in detention. Though she understood she was in trouble or being punished, it was still difficult to accept the white room. She found that she excelled at physical education and sneaking, and though most of the others in the stealth classes could not keep track of the firebird girl, Jessa had no trouble knowing where she was, other than when the girl was trying to hide. Her meetings with Nala went well, usually, and Jessa was starting to like the teacher. She had also been introduced to a disturbing little demon with very disturbing eyes. He was some kind of junior professor or healer or something, but supposedly once one of his patients recovered enough, he would be able to help Jessa. All in all it was a good, if aggravating, week.
Djalos Tyon |
Adon walks outside, walking away from school grounds. A wicked grin across his face, a book in one hand, and a rapier in the other. His sword hand figdets with his blade, twirling and twitching. He seems to be unphased by all the recent events, indeed, he even seems happier then normal.
Djalos pads silently to the outside of the school, unable to shake the habit of always being in "stealth-mode." When he spots Adon, he walks up to the young man, interested to see where he's going.
Stealth: 1d20 + 30 ⇒ (10) + 30 = 40
Once there, he says awkwardly, "It is a very nice day, is it not? The weather is very pleasant." This is, undoubtedly, the most pitiful attempt at small talk Adon has ever heard.
Professor Nix |
Professor Nix spent his entire week in classes and helping the newly awakened psychically active students. Lily Svarog in particular was having some amount of difficulty accepting her power as well as learning to control it; the two problems were linked, after all. Raelle was another problem. After creating the psi inhibitor (never his first choice) he spent many hours trying to figure out how to craft a device to help her learn to focus and control her gift. The damned thing was impossibly complex, however, as was the ability with which it was meant to assist.
Wyrd the Elemental |
2 people marked this as a favorite. |
Wyrd had a most satisfying week. He spent the entire week in Kuros helping the town to rebuild its damaged structures. He found a previously unknown love of fine sculpture, and the new city hall is a remarkable edifice. The guardians he sculpted along the front steps were done with such attention to detail that he inadvertently awakened them. When the stone lions stood up, shook their manes, and roared, the new mayor of Kuros nearly shat himself. (though the mayor now likes the guardian statues very much)

Adon tenses.
"H-hi."he shivers a bit, before taking a breath.
"Aren't... Aren't we supposed to be inside? Or something?"
his eyes narrow, and his sword shakes a bit in his trembling hand, while the other crudely covers his book.
Djalos Tyon |
It is very unnverving, seeing Djalos outside of Light Blades. The complete lack of facial expression, the inability to see the eyes, the monotone... it feels like a flesh statue has come to life.
"Are we?" Djalos asks. "Where are you going? I have completed all of my studies" - class only ended 10 mintues ago - "and Belyu tells me that I should go 'have some fun.'" He says that part in a perfect imitation of Belyu. "I believe that Kuros is nearly rebuilt. Is that not the optimal place to have fun?"
Djalos Tyon |
Djalos isn't a jerk. He just comes across as really creepy at times. :P
Djalos has seemed to have glommed on to Belyu as one would cling to a life raft. He's rather nice, at heart-if one can get past the whole flesh robot thing. It's also quite difficult to tell whether Djalos is being sarcastic or naive, due to the complete lack of facial expression and monotone.
Adon Derro |
Aron shakes his head.
"Fun is about who you're with. Not where you are."
the dead expression seems oddly familiar to him.
"Find people you like. That you sympathize with. Anyone in this school will probably do. Maybe chat it up with a filthy Mage, or talk with one of the lucky sorcerer."
he pauses, just a moment.
"Either way, I can guarantee you, following me will not result in fun."
Djalos Tyon |
"I see." Djalos appears to process for a moment. "I had... fun, while dueling with you. I understand that does not translate to true life. But I also noticed that no magic worked while near you. You the only person I can have fun safely with."
Adon Derro |
"I see." Djalos appears to process for a moment. "I had... fun, while dueling with you. I understand that does not translate to true life. But I also noticed that no magic worked while near you. You the only person I can have fun safely with."
Adon pauses, quite a while.
"... Hmm."his grip on his book shifts.
"I mean... I've got something... I need to do... And I Probobly should do it alone..."
Djalos Tyon |
"I can be unseen. I am, in fact, mostly unseen. Mostly out of habit." Djalos offers helpfully. He then considers something for a moment, then says, "I can help. I am well-versed in a variety of situations."
Djalos Tyon |
"...Interesting." Djalos pauses for a long moment. "I have developed a technique of implanting memories as physical objects in my mindscape. I can destroy these objects easily, thus destroying the memories. As such, you secret is completely safe with me."
For those curious, this technique was taught to Djalos as a means of conveying sensitive information from handler to handler, so they could retrieve psionically.
Djalos Tyon |
Djalos, now curious, begins following Adon. He melts into the forest, again unconsciously going into stealth mode.
1d20 + 30 ⇒ (14) + 30 = 44
He stands stock still for a moment, organizing a "recording" of the events that he can easily destroy if Adon wishes afterward.
Adon Derro |
Adon, once he is out of the wards, cuts a line across his clothes with the tip of the rapier, right across his stomach. he sets the book down, flips a page, and holds a vial of some sort of magic potion he took from somewhere in the school. He places the blade agaisnt his gut, the tip facing him.
"Alright, alonne. This better work."
a black aura surrounds the vial, and he crushes it in his hand. He takes a deep, sharp breath.
Djalos Tyon |
Djalos looks at Adon for a moment, then begins looking for any healing herbs around the forest.
1d20 + 29 ⇒ (4) + 29 = 33
Finding exactly what he needs, Djalos waits patiently for Adon to finish.
Adon Derro |
Adon thrusts his sword into his gut, until it comes out the other side, and makes a long, tearing cut across- compromising most of his vital organs in his lower body. He grits his teeth, and waits a few moment, before a man in odd, Eastern armor appears befor him.
"There you are." rasps Adon. "I wish to be able to overcome opposition without having to resort to filthy... Worthless magic."
the figure shifts a bit on it's feet.
"there's a lot more then that to what I am. To what I do. You have to-"
Adon interrupts.
"Fight with honor, and disregard said honor only when others have done so first. Be willing to commit everything to my goals. And never, ever use magic for anything other then nullifying other's."
the figure stsrts to speak, but Adon interrupts again.
"And I'm willing to offer a permanent contract."
Adon Derro |
Adon, sfter a few more moments of the two staring at each other, takes a shuddering breath, about to collapse, before the spirit vanishes, and Adon pauses, a moment. He stands up straight, again, and pulls the sword out of his gut- now an entierly diffrent weapon then what went in. It seems to be a katana, but longer- not any wider, or thicker, however- Probobly very fragile.
"... I'll take that as a yes."
there's a horrid, massive scar where his bleeding wound was, barely vsible under his gore-drenched clothes.
Djalos Tyon |
Djalos steps out of the shadows. "Do you require first aid?" he asks. Somehow, he's scrounged a variety of healing herbs up out of the forest, and is currently holding the bundle in his hands.
Djalos Tyon |
"Very well, Adon. That was... interesting. Who was that you just made a covenant with?"
