"That is what I need you to find out. What you can do. The matter is most urgent as this Khoda is eating Nasima's soul. We do not have much time to formulate a plan. Consult with your patron and determine what you can do to neutralize Khoda and help separate him from Nasima."
Ryleh is hard to write for sometimes. She's like a scary Korean grandmother. :)

Phaezeriel |

Jim and Ryleh can easily see Phaezeriel holding a ruby worth several thousands of gold pieces, eyes closed, bringing a jeweler's hammer down on it with no visible effect.

What the heck? I have been having a lot of ghost posts today. And I didn't catch this one for more than three hours because I was in lab.:(

Ryleh |

Yes, very flattering. And haven't I told you before that flattery will get you nowhere? You are the most persistent creature...

GM Fireclaw |

The slowness may be partially on my part, taken sort of a personal day from posting, as I was trying to get organized for the start of my Jade Regent IRL campaign. I had to split my gaming group into two seperate groups (because there was 9 of us and combat was a drag). I'm gonna be running it kinda like a parrallel universe thing, where they might catch glimpses of one another at times. It just means I have alot of planning to do.

Ehos Denulia |

If we follow the tables, that's also adulthood. ;)
Physically maybe, but not emotionally. :P
Ehos turns to face the children, a sad kind of smile would be visible but for the scarf. He gives them a pat on the head and brushes away his tears.
::Are these your children Headmaster?::

Tyrrin Denulia |

Tyrrin returned the bow, even though she didn't understand why Fei was being so formal. With permission granted, Tyrrin falls into stride next to Fei, trying (unsuccessfully) to match his stride. "Thank you Fei. My first question is: What are those cuffs? The design is nothing like I have ever seen. They are very beautiful. Are they some sort of symbol of rank?"

Vai Sunwake |

"Yeah, Zren and Rikken are the half-ogres. People think they're dumb and violent just by looking at them. Okay, they're not the smartest by human standards, but by ogre standards they're practically brilliant. And they wouldn't hurt a fly unless it was threatening someone they care about," she said loyally.
"Well, you haven't been here very long. Mostly you just have a reputation for being a little shy. And some of the people you hang out with are considered pretty scary." She shrugged. "Doesn't mean they are, but the thing is most of the ones who are scared are the first ones running to them for help when stuff goes wrong. I guess they're just intimidated."
Vai shrugs, "You're right, I think. I don't try to be shy it's just... it's hard to know who I can trust in the school. Maybe the day will come when I don't have to worry about those things." Vai changes the subject quickly, hoping to avoid an explaination, "I... at some point I would like to meet Zren and Rikken. My... blood mother told me that ogres were dumb, violent creatures. Anything that would prove her wrong would be welcome."

Sadie Jhiwoon |

Sadie grinned. "They'll be so happy when I tell them you want to meet them. Most people want to avoid them. You really are sweet."

Sadie Jhiwoon |

"I'll remind them to be extra gentle and not to be too loud and rowdy so they don't startle you then. And I think you are that sweet. You're gonna have some work to do to convince me otherwise," she said with a giggle.
"I'm really glad I got this chance to talk to you. It was totally worth the broken ankle."

Vai Sunwake |

It was Vai's turn to be speechless. The things Sadie were saying were unlike anything anyone had ever said to her. She had known this girl for 10 minutes, but she already felt special to her. Her family... that was different. When she was with her family, she feltas though she had to try to... do something. It seemed like everything she did only made Sadie like her more. After a couple moments, she managed to say with a shy smile: "I'm glad I met you too, Sadie."

Khassar Blackadder |

After he finishes his dinner Khassar goes to the supply room and and requisitions what supplies he feels are needed for the expedition.
And before anyone makes the joke, yes I am an Eagle Scout in real life.

Headmaster Ryo |

::Are these your children Headmaster?::
::Yes. They wouldn't be here at the moment if they hadn't filled the gym with frozen bubbles. That is Matthias, and the twins are Gwenne(on the left) and Tal(on the right). They can't stand seeing someone sad.::
::In fact, you might see them around watching you to see if you are still sad later. They're good at finding people.::

Aanandareavekki |

Aananda stops in mid stride, sending her senses down through the stone to find what was making the vibrations.

Fei, of the Sun Soul |

Tyrrin returned the bow, even though she didn't understand why Fei was being so formal. With permission granted, Tyrrin falls into stride next to Fei, trying (unsuccessfully) to match his stride. "Thank you Fei. My first question is: What are those cuffs? The design is nothing like I have ever seen. They are very beautiful. Are they some sort of symbol of rank?"
The young monk slows his pace in deference to the elf's slower stride. He looks briefly at his wrist cuffs, puzzled by the odd statement.
"They...are not. I wear these...so I may safely go about my studies at Avalon."
Perception DC25: ** spoiler omitted **
Perception Check: 1d20 + 32 ⇒ (5) + 32 = 37
Fei stops suddenly, going from walking to crouching down and splaying his hand out on the floor in one simple fluid motion. Another puzzled look crosses his face as he feels the out-of-place vibration pulsing through the tiled surface.
"What....is that?"

MisterLurch |

Aananda stops in mid stride, sending her senses down through the stone to find what was making the vibrations.
The vibrations are indeed impact tremors; footfalls. Something very large and very very heavy is striding towards the academy. It will arrive soon.
How much information can Ananda get through those senses?

Aanandareavekki |

It's sort of the equivalent of looking at infrared imaging. She could see a shape and its rough size and distance, but details are tricky through stone. Kind of the way that Toph 'sees' in AtLA.
::Ryo, something is heading towards the school. Don't know yet if it's friend or foe. I'm going to go check it out.::

Aanandareavekki |

Aananda heads off to meet the quite large creature, wanting to head it off if it was trouble.
She's a monk, so she moves pretty darn fast.:)

Wyrd the Elemental |

A 16 foot humanoid shape looms out of the trees on the main approach to the Academy. Between 15 and 20 feet tall, it is proportioned like a massively muscled human, but made out of unpolished iron. It looks to be forged in the likeness of one of the northern barbarians.
His ponderous stride slows as he passes the last of the intervening trees, and slows still more as the small woman that moves entirely too fast for a human comes out of the front of the compound. Seeing that she is heading directly for him, he stops and sinks to a knee to wait. There is an audible thump as his knee settles to the ground.
EDIT: Apologies for the badly-fitting portrait .. again .. I could not find ANY earth elementals or iron golems.

Headmaster Ryo |

::Get ready just in case.:: Ryo sends to Aananda.
"Children, go to your room. Lysander will meet you on the way."
"But Papa-"
"No, something is heading our way and you need to be safe." He points to the door and watches them leave.
::Ehos, you may stay if you wish.:: His tells the young elf, turning to his repaired 'window'. The picture wavers for a moment before centering in on Aananda and the advancing visitor.

Yu steps out of the bathroom, looking spotlessly clean and immaculate once again, and watches as Aananda bounds away. One of his quicksilver pupils rotates and clicks behind his sunglasses as she runs.

He then strides calmly back to the lab and raps on the door again, fully expecting Jim to answer. If the pounding vibrations in the ground bother him at all, he gives no indication of this.

Aanandareavekki |

The creature's eyes glitter as they shift in the light. It bends down a bit lower and speaks softly.
** spoiler omitted **
Aananda responds in the same language.

Ryleh |

Perception:1d20+21
I'm not entirely sure how to get in contact with him, but I'll.... do you feel that?
"Yes. I believe that Aanandareavekki has gone to deal with it."
She tilted her head and looked at him quizzically. "I have not met a Champion before who did not know how to contact his or her patron. Including your predecessor, who was a student of mine before he took a dive straight off the deep end. Sanity and perspective were not his strong suit. Try. This is a place for making things. Your patron should be easy to speak to here."

Nasima Shearskye |

"M...my...my what?"
"Yes! Isn't it wonderful? An agreement, before we were born, that the two of us should join their respective kingdoms with that of my mother and father, to bring greater peace and power to the elemental planes."
"My...what?"
"I know it must seem shocking -- believe me, I'm still getting used to it myself -- but truly, I know this to be right, in my heart. Don't you?"
"MY! WHAT!"
At this point a huge, booming voice, thunderous in its calm and immense in its tranquility, speaks from the courtyard. "Nasima, Dear, this is our decision. I am sorry you did not learn of this before your departure to that...place...but, it is true. And Ran is of age now, just barely younger than you! You have so much to learn and explore together..." Nasima's mother, Cimmara, a queen of the cloud giants, strides gracefully out from one of the many palace doors leading into the courtyard. 'Sima loves her mother dearly, but this time the sight of her is blurred by hot tears of fury.
"MOM! Mother, how could you do this?! This is the oldest, stupidest, most backwards...what about everything we talked about? Progress? Forwardness? Bringing our people out of the-"
Cimmara cuts her off. "Nasima, enough. This is my decision. If you are really that upset, simply let Ran into your mind. I have read his thoughts, and know his heart to be true. If you can but accept him...."
The sylph shakes her head. "Mom, this is...no! I...this is so wrong!"
The queen levels her most royal, piercing gaze at her errant daughter. "Nasima. You are princess of this land, as I am queen. You will do as I say. Now." For his part, Ran is watching calmly, if with a bit of nervousness, and…a strange smile…
Nasima shakes her head again. "Mom, I--"
"NASIMA!"
The teen starts to relax her mind. "I shouldn't, this is..."

Sadie Jhiwoon |

Sadie moved her ankle carefully.
"It doesn't hurt anymore. Let's see if I can stand on it."
She got off of the bed carefully, slowly putting weight back on her injured limb.
"Looks like it's all better," she said, smiling. Then sighed.
"I guess I should get back to the gym," she said reluctantly. "The rest of the club will wonder what happened to me. I'm always there first because I'm the captain."
"Maybe I'll see you tomorrow? Are you going to the talent show?"

The creature moves like it has heaved a deep sigh though it clearly has no use for breathing. In a human the motion might indicate relief. The air around the creature also seems suddenly to be warmer.

narrator |
One second.
Jim opens the door, saying:The lab is temporarily closed. Go find out about your other classes. promptly closing the other door afterwards.
"Very well. Creation, I need to speak with you."
The lab is suddenly very quiet. Jim is alone in the room except for a blue-haired gnome with the biggest tool belt he's ever seen.
"Wazzup?" the gnome asked with a grin. "Like the new look? I thought it might help the whole adjustment thing if I tried out a new image. You like? It's good not to take yourself too seriously. A lot of my Champions have ego issues. Maybe it's me. Never too late to change, right?"

Tyrrin Denulia |

Fei stops suddenly, going from walking to crouching down and splaying his hand out on the floor in one simple fluid motion. Another puzzled look crosses his face as he feels the out-of-place vibration pulsing through the tiled surface.
"What....is that?"
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 30
Tyrrin stops just as suddenly as Fei, looking around. It wasn't musical enough to be vibrations from her brother's speech, as she felt earlier. Reaching out a delicate hand to Fei to steady herself, Tyrrin says, with only a slight quiver of fear: "I..'m not sure. I assume this is not normal?"

Vai Sunwake |

"I guess I should get back to the gym," she said reluctantly. "The rest of the club will wonder what happened to me. I'm always there first because I'm the captain."
"Maybe I'll see you tomorrow? Are you going to the talent show?"
Vai nods. "I'll be going. I thought about registering, but I don't have any talents...' At least, ones that she could show off in front of the student body. "I can teleport us back to the gym if you want? Though if I start teleporting everywhere..." Vai plucks at her waistline, thinking eviously of Nasima's form, though not envying the response it got from men.

"Jim" Rivets |

Jim chuckles slightly, finding the new form slightly ridiculous.
Apparently, we've got a problem with Destruction. Destruction has imparted a part of itself into the being that has afflicted a student here at the academy. I think I've got that right. In any case, I've been asked to help, and I'm not entirely sure what I can do about it.

Ehos Denulia |

Ehos nods silently and faces the repaired - when did that happen? - scrying mirror.
::Your children are very sweet Headmaster.:: Through the telepathic link, Ryo can sense not only respect, but a bit of fear. As though to say "They're sweet, so you should keep them away from me."

Fei, of the Sun Soul |

Tyrrin stops just as suddenly as Fei, looking around. It wasn't musical enough to be vibrations from her brother's speech, as she felt earlier. Reaching out a delicate hand to Fei to steady herself, Tyrrin says, with only a slight quiver of fear: "I..'m not sure. I assume this is not normal?"
"No, but it may be something completely benign," the young monk replies as the vibrations stop after one last, deep reverberation. He stands.
"If there is something occurring, Avalon has ways of protecting itself from...non-students. I believe it would be the wisest course of action for you to return to the Headmaster's office until this is sorted out."

Tyrrin Denulia |

Tyrrin saw the logic in Fei's words. Even if she didn't yet trust this... Ryo. He was a High Seer. Powerful. "Thank you once again for your assistance Fei. I hope we can continue to be friends here at Avalon." Tyrrin hurries back to the Headmaster's office at a fair clip, suddenly feeling exposed.

"Don't tell me you're worried about your weight? You're beautiful. Even if you did gain weight, you'd still be beautiful. Though if you're worried about staying physically fit I bet your mom has a few suggestions. She is the PE teacher after all."
Sadie stopped talking and looked contrite. "That was too direct, wasn't it? I have this tendency to speak my mind without thinking things through."

Headmaster Ryo |

Ehos nods silently and faces the repaired - when did that happen? - scrying mirror.
::Your children are very sweet Headmaster.:: Through the telepathic link, Ryo can sense not only respect, but a bit of fear. As though to say "They're sweet, so you should keep them away from me."
::Separating yourself from others will not help you learn to control your ability, though your desire to keep from harming my children is appreciated.:: He turns back to Ehos. ::You will gain control you know.::

Wyrd the Elemental |

Any amount of planar knowledge and arcane knowledge will tell you that he is not a golem, but is some kind of elemental.
He gestures vaguely at himself with his hand. The air continues to heat and you can feel that the heat is coming off the creature.
As he speaks he starts to glow with the heat of coming off of him like a piece of iron heated in a forge. As his body language and speech betray his mounting frustration, his surface begins to crack open showing liquid metal through the cracks. They spread from the center of his chest. He looks down and seems to take a very deep breath, shuddering slightly as he seems to exhale and his head hangs. His mannerisms are very human. As he tries to rein his emotional display in, he starts to cool.
His head lifts again and he fixes Ananda with his stony gaze.
