The Avalon Chronicles

Game Master lynora

This is a high level rules light game set in a school for magical kids, kinda a mash-up of Soul Eater, Harry Potter, and X-Men. :)

"Well, welcome to Avalon. Now, what about Sakura-Neko concerns you? She's a wonderful student, now that her teacher's can remember here."

"How long has Sakura-Neko been a student here? You see, it seems that for the last two years we have no idea where she's been or what she has been doing. Until two weeks ago we had forgotten that she even existed, it shames me to admit. We are understandably curious about what happened to her during those two years."

The man, who was obviously Kitty's father, was the one doing the talking, but Ryo could feel the sharp eyes of the old woman watching his every movement.

Jeran nodded back. He seemed more on edge than usual.

"She's been a student here for about two years, so she must have come here after realizing no one could remember her. Going back and looking at all the papers she turned in but never got graded, it seems she's improved greatly since she's been here. One of our teachers, Professor Sunwake, has given her excellent grades in her Advanced Physical Education class, something quite difficult. Recently she'd taken to Care for Magical Beast with much excitement. She hasn't caused any trouble except for one extremely minor incident in the cafeteria, and seems happy as far as I can tell."

"If you would like, I can send for her and ask her to come here as soon as she can."

We never did finish with Wyrd's enrollment. Unless I missed something. Which is possible. ;)

"Yes, thank you. We would greatly appreciate that. If it would not be too much trouble we would also like to tour your facility. Sakura-Neko has expressed a desire to stay here when we sent Nanami to fetch her home. We would like to be sure that this is a good place for her to be."

"That will not be a problem." Ryo tells Kitty's father, sending Kitty a message asking her if she is eating or about to and that her family would like to talk with her. "If she is at breakfast, I'll give you the tour so she has time to eat."

"Er, uh, Headmaster? Okay, this is weird. Um, I was just heading to the cafeteria. Saffire is really hungry, I can be there in just a few..."

::No need, they've asked to tour the school. You have time to eat.::

"It's seems she's just about to eat. Which part of the school would you like to see first? We have a map with all the locations students have access to if you would like to use that to decide." Ryo tells the Tanaka clan.

"Perhaps we could walk through what would be a typical day for Sakura-Neko?" her mother asked tentatively, glancing over at the old woman as if looking for approval. The old woman gave the slightest nod and Kitty's mother seemed to relax a little.

"Just allow me a moment to get her schedule then." After finding Kitt'y class list, Ryo proceeds to lead them through her typical day, even go so far as to use an illusion to show just what Advanced P.E. can be like.

Only when you talk for a long while. ;)

Vai wakes up after an uncomfortable night's sleep. She is delighted to find that the aschen hasn't done anything to her other than mess her hair up. That was a easy fix though. She quickly goes over to Nasima to check the colour of her gemstone.

This morning, Vai spends a good deal more time on deciding what to wear. She wanted to look good. She couldn't decide if she should try wearing pants. The thought of the blue dress made her blue just thinking about it, so that was out. Fieri was supposed to be coming though, so Vai eventually chose to try the jeans and t-shirt look which Nasima was always sporting. It was strange, the t-shirt fabric was very clingy, but didn't feel tight. The jeans did feel tight though, probably because they were Ephebe's old jeans. Still, Vai had to admit they were comfortable and looked good in the mirror. And she wouldn't have to worry about the wind picking her skirt up.

There was a knock on Vai's door.

"Vai? You up yet?"

The old woman nodded. "I approve. This is good training. It is good to see that Sakura-Neko will not get overly soft while studying here."

Truth be told, Vai DOES kinda have a crush on Fei, but he still makes her nervous. That might even add to it.

Vai opens the door, fully dressed. The aschen is sitting in the corner with a bag of coffee beans, crunching at them. There's a pile of discarded clothing on the bed. Vai puts her finger to her lips though, pointing to the still-sleeping form of Nasima. She beckons Nimceleb from his perch on top of the dresser and then closes the door behind her. "Look what Mom gave me!" she said excitedly, holding out the bag of gemstones.

Image

"Oh, good! I was afraid she'd forget again. Now you can buy your own clothes, and trust me, Mom has zero concept of currency exchange, this will buy as many clothes as you could possibly want," she said with a wink. "By the way, I like the outfit. But tell me honestly...do you feel like your pants are going to split if you breathe too hard? Because that's how I always feel when I borrow Ephebe's clothes. I think she's almost awake now. I've been knocking on her door every fifteen minutes for the last hour. Be prepared, she's going to be really cranky before breakfast. She is very not a morning person." ^.^

"Yeah, it definitely feels like they're gonna split open, but I thought I'd try them... Pants feel weird though. Ephebe keeps telling me how flexible they are... but I don't know..." The pair starts walking towards Ephebe's room. "I was up late last night worrying about that... thing she sent to my room, so she has no excuse. I'm sure Uncle Ryo wouldn't mind it too much if we broke down the door to wake her."

"And don't worry too much about the pants. We'll get you some proper jeans in town that actually fit."

She banged on the door of Ephebe's room again.

Ephebe groaned and hid her head under the pillow.

Krays groans and rolls over...

The door slammed open and a sleepy and slightly rumpled looking Ephebe came out. She was wearing a T-shirt and jeans instead of her armor, but these were just as skin-tight.

"...."

"Talk after breakfast," she said tersely as she walked past them and headed for the cafeteria.

Fieri giggled.

"Bye, Krays! See ya later.," she said, waving as she closed the door to the room before following after Ephebe.

"Hey, Pheebs, didn't you forget something? Like maybe a hairbrush?" she called after the half-asleep Ephebe.

After knocking, there is no immediate answer. After a second one, a sound that can only be a disgruntled young man having to wake earlier than expected rousing. You can hear a few expletives, then the door opens, revealing a very tired and disheveled Ghalen in just his greys (a gray cotton tank top and boxers).
"For the love of, do you have any idea how early..." he looks up and sees, an adult female, probably faculty member. His look goes from annoyed to confused.
"Sorry ma'am. I, uhhh..." he reached behind the door to fetch a robe, and puts it on hastily "...wasn't expecting any visitors. It is Saturday, right?" he says as he rubs an eye and tries to wake up faster.

It doesn't take long to see that Kitty's Obaa-sama subscribes to similar theories of discipline to Professor Relkav as he expresses concern over the lightness of the workload and the shortness of the school day as well as complaining that the discipline policies were much too lenient.

Especially since he decided to show up in drag it's really hard to keep pronouns straight for Kitty's cross-dressing great-uncle. >.<

Aananda led him to a small office near the Headmaster's and closed the door behind them. She indicated that he should sit in the chair in front of the desk and she took a seat behind the desk. She laid her arm on the desk so that her wrist cuff was easily visible.

"I'm not sure if you're aware of this, Mr. Kiln, but this school is filled with a nanite cloud. It's our security network. We've had certain problems in the past that simply could not be adequately monitored with conventional methods. I check the feed every morning just to make sure nothing slips through the cracks. Imagine my surprise this morning when I saw this," she said pressing a button on her wrist cuff. A holographic projection sprung up from the device showing Ghalen transforming into a red dragon.

Ryo responds that while the course load does seem light, he also has to think about the teachers, some of which can be overwhelmed by what their students are capable of. He also explains that many students prefer it this way, and that they only graduate when they reach a certain level of academic achievement, not when a certain amount of time has passed, so they have plenty of motivation to work hard.

"It's 'bout time." The dwarf in charge of the circle grumbles.

"The Namori Jungle, please. Just outside it on the western most side. There's an abandoned village there we can use as a starting point."

"Yeah, yeah, don't get your papers all crumpled." The dwarf grumbles as he activates the circle. After a few moments of varied feelings going through them, the group finds themselves withing walking distance of the village Oneiro mentions. Oneiro casts a glance west at the mountain that are just barely visible before turning back tot eh group.

"With the maps we have, we can use the village as a reference point and retrace the expedition of the ast man know to have the book we're looking for. Anything anyone wants to say before we go into the jungle?"

Ephebe jumped, startled. She'd been expecting fire not lightning. She turned around.

She smiled reluctantly. "Alright, you got me. I was expecting Fieri to fire back. Agh. I used to be better at mornings, but I'm sooo tired and hungry all the time."
