"Good-O Gyldyr, but getting the others to notice yon discrepancy seems to be taking longer than I'd like."

"By th' by, c'n any one be castin' some more light in't th' place?" she looks to Desidera and winks, Sunset's grin looking strangely feral in the flickering lights the party is currently in. "Y'know, t' be helpin' Gloisil checkin' fer bumps an' stuff?"

"Do you know Kosan; Mithral Fist of the Silent Dwarf?"

Mox:
"I know him; I know him, Dread Kojan with Red Jejua his brother and Archmagus Fystor and Balfic High Priest of the Dark and his Champion the Mother of Darkness and Magus Monk Lorm the Shifty, and even Baelinor Stormwall, Hearthstarter <a very rare dwarven title> and so on; but all dim in the light our our Mother, Cera Angel, all bless her mighty arm; her dread sword, and her loving arms."

Mox in nearly in the throws of divine passion. There is not doubt he is a true believer in Cera, who some of you probably have heard of as she is one of the most famous Ranger Lords currently active. Any elf or dwarf <from this world> will know about Kojan and Red Jejua on a knowledge roll of a 6; yes, he is that famous or infamous.

"Sunset, I think that is a good idea, but since they are able to speak for themselves, I think they could just tell us if they would like Desidera to heal them."

Turning back towards Koridur, Gloisil says, "Koridur, would you happen to know were the forges are? My uncle says that the most likely place to look is in a vault near the forges."

"And as Sunset suggested, do you or your companions have any injuries that need to be healed?"

Then to all who are here, Gloisil says, "May we discuss this further as we travel, as I feel that it is urgent that we find the seal as soon as possible."

If our new friends do not know the way in which we should go, then I suggest that we continue down the hallway in the direction that we were headed when we stopped to rest."

Gloisil pauses for a moment waiting for other suggestions, and if there are none, he heads down the hallway in the direction that they were heading before encountering Yuri's lab.

A look of concern waves over the dwarfs face as he motions to Sunset and says "You know Kurg, maybe we ought to let them look us over. We were in a pretty bad fight and had a hard fall... twice. I want to make sure we're fit for combat if it comes to that again. You've been good to have in a fight thus far and I'd really rather not lose you to a goblin." Elvish:
"The dwarf is cooperating. Likely he is not aware of the nature of his companions. The uncouth goblin and orc radiate magic, far greater than common warriors should. The dwarf only has a little, and that is easily explained."

He wonders why the rest of the group isn't catching on yet.

As if having the Dark elf travel at her back was not disconcerting enough, this meeting was something that she was not expecting in the slightest, thus her eyes were a slight bit wider than usual, glancing back and forth amongst the speakers and their fluid words, understanding none of it. "I am the healer. Are you hurt?" The question was directed without malice to the three that were standing before the group.

Dwarved try to use volcanic heat sources whenever possible; as as this mountain range is volcanic; there will be such things and such dangers here; as as usual; dwarves use a lot of steam power; and all that augmented by the magic of gnomes. so; volcanic beds are usually very low; but also whereever a vent through the magma layer comes up; and this is usually somewhere near the heart of the lowest living level and in a central chamber to where most of the entrances to all the mines would occur; the chamber is usually huge; wide and hundred of feet high; much like a classic beehive but reveresed; were the bee hive is empty and the dwarves (bees) live all round the central hub like spokes of a wheel; to mix metaphors. The central chamber is nearly always filled with the sounds of hammers and breaking of ore and the smelting process as well as the sound of sung dwarven chants. It should be very weird and sad to you to not be able to hear the reverberation and echoes of the singing and pounding constant in a dwarven hold. Usually; you go to the stronger source of that sound; as the kings chamber and grand hall is always on the first level up from the central floor where all the smiths and smelting and such happen.
on the second level; up; classically; is the spokes that hold the entrances to each of the tunnels to the veneration/clergy of the various dwarven dieties.

Spoiler:

ok; some legendary things:
an Ork named Balfic Graa is a priest and a companion of the greatest living dwarven hero named Kojan, often called the Fist of Dumathion; the Silent God. Kojan weild the hammer relic left from the dwarf/elf wars; a Greater Runic weapon called Red Jujua "Tears of Mothers" and armor custom made for him by Vulcan; the Greek diety; as Dumathions request as Kosan stood up alone against the Four Horsemen and their boss who tried to sacrifice Kosan to a demon lord; but kosan escaped into a random layer of the Abyss and more or less fought his way out of a few hundred layers of that dread place.

The stories about Balfic Graa are even more disturbing. He is reputedly an assassin and High Priest of the Dark God and cousin to the Elven Emperor Sebastion. Balfic is betrothed to the Finish diety Loviatar, Mistress of Pain and has The Drow Princess Akiko; the highest of the high drow nobility as his concubine; who is also a wizard and priestess of the Dark God. Now apparently; Balfic is nigh unkillable; has been infected with countless types of lycanthropy and died and was buried a few times and is the most beautiful looking ork ever; think like 22 charisma. He is a mover and shaker, literally can move armies; is very highly placed and has the direct ear of the Grandmaster of Assasssins and thieves in The Guild. Elves kneel to him; drow kneel to him; ork cheer him; humans love him.

now the greatest of ork heroes is Ugmarr; basically, if it can be killed; he can kill it; well maybe not a tarrasque; but hey; nobodies perfect. the battle between Ugmarr and Kosan is Legendary and everybody knows it. Ugmarr and Kosan fought for three days without stopping and couldnt kill each other; so when the sun went down of the third day; Kosan said " yea aint dont nothing but make me thirsty" and the Ork laughted and replied "Same here, yea stumpy little shi#; lets get a drink" so they both put up their weapons and drank a whole lot and left with a lot of mutual respect.

Current events; Ugmarr leads about a couple million Ork against the Ghoul invasion in the southern continent; The dwarves have about a millon there fighting the ghoul invasion; nearly every elf in the world is there fighing the ghouls. 100k viking are there fighting hte ghouls; about 500k greeks are there fighting the ghouls, about 500k Chinese refugees are helping everywhere. And there are 5 Elven dieties; three dwarf dieties; 2 viking dieties; 5 Greek demigods; 10 Ork dieties and so on; all fighting down in the Southern continent either against the ghouls or the Snakemen; and the ghouls and snakes are winning.

So; this guy; if it is true; saying that he is Ugmarr grandson; is saying something; he is about as close to "up there" (if orks had royalty) among his people as one can get by birth. And looks like he has the Blessing of the Dark God; Balfic's diety, and is a citizen of the empire; which means he has the ability to speak directly to Balfic; or the Emperor or anyone else in the empire.

so; that is what you know about this young orks bloodline from the knowledge roll without knowing to much about him; the dward with him proabably knows a lot more and you figure Gloisil can figure out or ask his uncle a lot more and thinking of that; you can confirm or ask gloisils uncle to check into it; as he too is a citezen of the empire; granted; the ork could be lying about all this, but orks dont usually lie as they consider it a show of weakness.

Gyldyr goes over the orc's explanation, seeing no obvious flaw. There was still something mysterious about these two... but the orc had said something that had made him reconsider for a moment. Gyldyr guessed that his allies didn't know all that much about him, either, so he'd content himself with keeping a wary eye on the two. It would be better to have one god-blessed on their side instead of as an enemy. Also, the orc knew about their suspicions, so he decides to risk another question. "Why are you in possession of such strong magic? Your aura is far stronger than I would have guessed for two ordinary mortals; even a god-blessed one."

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Ok; at the mention of Tarantis, I think all but Gyldyr would have a clue about that place unless your character was a rural hick.

Tarantis was the known worlds (that means here in the West) third largest city; the greatest seaport and citadel of humans. It was the first major city to fall the to the incursion of chaos hordes from the wastes. Many demons were reported as leading and joining that horde; the city itself was betrayed by a human mage who was one of the worlds greatest magus and once friend of Kosan, Bob, Peter, an elven druidess and the Nez-Bert a barbarian warlord.

This was the premier adventure team that tried to stop the chaos incursion, but they were in their citadel (which actually is not very far from this dungeon and might be worth a look at) here on this continent and didnt get to Tarantis in time due to the betrayal of the human Magus in their team who led another horde through the Underdark to appear here and sack their citadel; killing many of the defenders; Peter and Bob went missing; good luck finding a halfling and gnome; but Bob the Halfling is known to have survived; Kosan (who wears Thunderfoot from The Prophesy) ended up in the Abyss, Nez-bert; the Barbarian tried to save the Pick of Ages (a powerful item of The Prophesy) and used it and shifted to the Happy Hunting Grounds. No one knows if the druidess died; last Kosan heard; she shapechanged and left to find Ca-el and his team as reinforments; but nobody has heard from her or them.

So; the Human Mage, I forget his name right off; been a while; there were other heroes too, but these are the main ones. Maybe Kosan remembers if he reads this thread.

Anyway; the fall of Tarantis is the start of "The Age of No Hope" Where civilization has been overrun for the last 25 years; city after city sacked; race and peoples destroyed and plundard; millions dead or enslaved. Trade stopped; Dwarves pulled back to their Holds; Elves pulled back to their mystical forest in the Elphantine Lands; the Holy Cities washed there hands of all who had betrayed them; some say lost in pride that they failed to help the world; Persia fell to civil war; the Darkwell opened in Greco/Rome polluted by a Shard from the Illearth Stone; the Dead Opened their Crypts and with the Darkwell spreading darkness all over Greece and Rome; the creatures of the night never had the take shelter from the Sun Bane that kills many of them.

so; this is what the mention of Tarantis should bring up in most of you; so a successful Raid on Tarantis, is a big deal. For the last 20 years the High Magus of Tarantis has issued a proclaimation that all magic items no matter how big or small will be brought to Tarantis; so the Hordes have done just that; all magic has been stripped from just about everywhere. Thieves from the Horde raid civilized cities thought safe; so all the local theives guilds and such were driven to become one force under a Half Orc called Ronin; the Grandmaster and his Rune Sword "Deathkiss" who follows behind him; now some say that Ronis is also the Forth of the Four Horsemen who lead the Choas Hordes; but nobody knows for sure; that is just a rumor.

My best guess is that it's in the clergy chambers on the second level. We need to find the bottom floor where we'll find an abundance of smithing equipment then go two floors up from there. Seeing as this is a volcanic mountain range there should be some vents to let the magma layers come up on the bottom floor as well." Koridur glances around for a minute. How far underground are we? Which direction are we facing? Is there any unusual stonework in the area? Here's a knowledge roll if you need one: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Koridur

Spoiler:

you are actually above ground; which agrees with the stonework hereabouts. You figure you are in an area very close to a tower that looks out; which makes sense as the majority of gnomes dont like going underground and you see a lot of evidence of this being a workshop for gnomes and some dwarves who do things like rain collection and air venting and monitor outer grillworks and such. This is typically where gnome magic types and engineers would be located.

your altitude is about 75 ft over the outer groundworks; so you have come up 200ft in the elevator; which would have still been very high; in a typical Hold of one the age of this one; there is probably 30 or so levels. There will be many types of ways down; some that go down one level at a time; and some that go many levels at once which are typically paths for warrior and paths for workmen/engineers. Somewhere are probably slides that go a long way; these would be used for fast movement of warriors from the surface to get to the lower levels quickly; as kobold, goblinoidss; drow; orks; and other subteranean threats tend to attack from below; Dwarf Holds are rarely attacked from the surface from much besides a Dragon.

"Koridur any idea's there? I was going to try to repair the elevator controls until it started going crazy and spit you and companions out of it. Is it still worth trying to repair?"

Gloisil then asks Desidera and Sunset, "Do You remember us encountering any other places that we could possibly use to descend to the lower levels?"

Sunset scratches her head and looks puzzled,

"Uhm...nope, cain't say that I do. Sorry Gloisil." She looks to Koridor, "But you've got an idea as t' how this place be put t'gether, right? There's got's t'be stairs somewhere, right?" She asks.

Desidera looked thoughtful as she reached up to touch the end of her staff with a word of warning, her voice only as loud as it needed to be. "Eyes", she warned, before she set the tip of her staff alight, the brass band on its end giving off a golden glow like sunshine, though the rays lacked the warmth and something of the intensity of the shine.

After Koridur's explanation, the healer could offer no better, nodding towards the dwarf. "I would say stairs, trusting to unattended machinery as little as possible."

you note that in the history of drow and dwarf battles; dwarves tend to collapse tunnels on their enemies and drop ceilings and floors and the like; leaving people standed; is a common tactic where you come from which probably holds true in this world

"Gah!" She exclaims as the Clerics spell goes off. >_<

"Well if we're not taken the elevator, I suggest that we continue down this hallway past Yuri's workroom and look for another way down to the lower levels."

Gloisil starts walking back that way and then stands in front of the door warning the newer members of the group to not touch the door.

"This door be trapped, and I'll not be comin' in after ya if ye touch it", Gloisil says slipping a bit into the normal clipped fast speaking of the gnomes, rather then the more formal speaking style that he normally uses.

Ok; thought we might need a cohesive discussion thread up so we are all looking in the same place for information. Post all out of RP information and other game things here; thanks.

Muchly appreciated. It was rather difficult to find the other one.

Good luck in Val's game. Its always an adventure. I'm sure you will have a great time.

I have to say I am fans of Glosil and Sunset. Your characters crack me up.

Val,

I just had a thought, a fledgling of an idea, and it leads to a question.

Could Gloisil use his kettle and spoon to cook or brew the correct antidote for the mushroom spores even though we haven't been able to collect all the right ingredients?

Just wondering, let me know, thanks.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

you certainly can try; the more ingrediants you have the better.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

*facepalm* Y'know, some things seem perfectly fine upon writing and re-reading.. It takes them being quoted before one sees the awkwardness that somehow managed to get engineered into it.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

yes, very true; but it can bring wide smiles hehe and people wondering

By all means, feel free to roll any and all rolls for me if it will make things more expedient. I haven't tried the new dice code for the forums, but for any momentary situation that would just slow down the game in waiting for a response, by all means don't wait for me.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

I just keep some dice here by my computer; it doesnt matter to me if you use a online dice roller or just roll real dice; the honor system is good enough for me; and I mix up the rolls and topsty turvey stuff now and again where a failure is a success and like that; so just put out a number; who knows what will happen; I have lots of charts for various things. who knows; maybe a Fey is messing around or a demigod or wierd plantetary mystical alignments hehe; I try to keep things moving and lively.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

As for speed of responses; I think we will get into a rythmn that everyone decides is the pace; I try to keep things going but I am not in a hurry or pushy; I really want people to play their characters; but if someone is missing for a week or so; will make a play for them. I am very thankful that everyone has been so polite by saying that they wont be able to post for x number days; always nice to know and very thoughful; thanks for that.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Ah, well then.. In that case, 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19

Will that do?

Do feel free to roll initiative or any single necessary roll for me. In a PbP, I perceive the emphasis on the Post, and not filling a line just to have a single roll. Otherwise, I'll roll initiative the next time I post.

So as not to break the continuity with a single post (more than has to be done), Here's Desidera's atk roll for healing Galen. (just minus 1 if I can't get dex on the to-hit)

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

Just for more concrete information on Gloisil's condition other than my description, he is down to one hp.

Val, I think for my next turn I'll just spend my actions painting a big red and white target on Gloisil. :-)

Just kidding, I'll be trying to fry another of those nasty goblins. Been DMing so long in my RL group I've forgotten what it is like to play a first level character. It's kind of exciting to be on the edge of death ..., I think.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Oh, another person for Desi to lecture once this encounter is done with? That is so going to be a fun post to write! =3

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

well, you could dive for cover and take some other action; as your a caster you dont have the shooting into melee penalty that most ranged guys have; so you could back away to side whereas you cant get shot and spell snipe some in melee if you choose to; would decrease the mob bonus these guys are getting;

on another note; these guys are worth lot more exps than the ones you fought upstairs at the entrance; should be the first real test of the pc's abilities and a real sloggernocker; you guys are giving it; a few more gobbies and I will have to begin testing to see if they break.

1d20+1

Is that for Elsdyn or did you switch targets via last minute info?

Galen, I am only keeping track of my own HPs, not really sure where everyone else is at. My character is new to the group and doesnt know, what he would call procedure, so since Desidera called for status last round I replied that I would need aid 'soon' which for my case met I was down 9, had 6 left and was taking an average of 3 a round. So I had a decent chance to survive the next round but would likely need aid before their attack the following round or I would go down. In simpler terms I thought it would give her enough time to consider her options rather than an emergency call (character has been fighting a war for several years...or at least watching given he is only 1st level, so he sort of thinks like that. ;) Had my character realized you were worse off he would have called the aid to you immediately, he just didnt know.

I would think your crossbow would start cocked; so just a quick action to load a bolt in it; provided you put it away loaded you can always start that way; xbows can be left cocked nearly all the time unlike bows as bowstrings are usually catgut and the like and stretch over time and xbow strings are usually some type of cable and do not.

Gloisil Murigel wrote:

Gloisil seeing the goblin archers turn and run, looks to see where he can turn his attention. But seeing that the only goblins left are the ones Galen and Elsdyn are fighting. Not wanting to shoot into the melee that his companions are engaged in, he stops and just takes some time to assess the situation.

As he does so he reaches around and get his crossbow where it is attached to his back and begins to load it.

Gloisil puts away his wand and prepares his crossbow in case it is needed.

Even if the crossbow is already set, I think I have three move actions in there. One to put away the wand, then to retrieve the crossbow, and last to load a bolt in it.

But, If you'll let me do all that in one round, I won't complain. Either way I be ready to shoot at something next round, but I think there will not be a need once Galen and Elsdyn have their chance to hit those poor goblins that didn't get the message to retreat.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

I was assuming the wand was in a quick draw style wand holster which is common in my game; so that is a quick action, a move action if you carry then in a bag somewhere that needs to be opened and closed; I am guessing that the xbow is slug; so a quick action; if you have it strapped down; well that would be a move action to get it ready; then a quick action to draw and put in a bolt if you have them in a quarrel quiver that has them easily accessable; move action if they are not; longer if there down in the bottom of your backpack.

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

I didn't know about all those options that you have in your campaign, so I was just playing by standard rules. In the past games I have played in, a first level character would almost never had access to such things. They usually are cost prohibitive to a first level character.

Also, I like playing the lower levels best because I like the challenge of being a character that has few skills and abilities, and has to find a way to survive with what he has. I don't even mind "dying" as long as the odds aren't impossible and I gave it my best shot.

Playing in a game where we start with some pretty "advanced" equipment has taken some getting used to, but I'm getting there.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Think of it this way if it helps; the world has been at war on this continent for nearly 12 years; every inovation to be successful is fairly common place; the old quick and the dead idea; your either one or the other.

One the Eastern continent; they have been dominated and at war with some scattered pockets of freedom fighters for about 16 years; the southern continent; about three years; the Western Continent just finished a very long civil war about 2 years ago.

Consider that the population is about 1/3 what it was just 15 years ago; the bad guys have made a very concertend effort to steal; abscond; buy; or by any means neccessary aquire as many magic items as they could and remove them to the Vaults in the City State of Tarantis and had been doing this for about 20 years; so after so many magic items were gone; the war started; after nearly all of them gone; the invasion by demons. So while not many magic items are available, there is a lot of other convential gear that nobody is around to use anymore so is more readily available.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Gnomes, being very good allies with the Dwarves; have some pretty good information sources; and being a race, like halflings, that have the travel bug, they have a general idea of the big picture.

anything that comes up; you might have heard a story or two from Hava Gooday or Petrovich Cronefist (Peter the Small), or any of several other gnome heroes from your area. Members of your clan have been involved in this Central continent since "The Mob" came up out of the Underdark about 60 miles away from here and together with a Demonic Astral Battlecruiser; attacked the castle of some powerful adventurers. This was a pivital moment that every gnome in your clan knows; as related by a gnome theif who was one of those adventurers; I forget his name atm; He told the story of the Capture of Kosan, Priest of Dumathion, the betrayal of the parties Mage who sold out to the Demon Rheabau and how that Mage was given the position of the High Mage of City State of Tarantis; the story continues with the cowardice of the powerful barbarian who carried the Pick of Ages; and how the Pick punished him <the pick dissappeard so could not be taken by the bad guys which was probably the point of the attack on the PC's castle; to get the two items of legend; the Pick of Ages and Thunderfoot. Anyway; Kosan escapes the Abyss with the help of a half human demon princess and starts his quest of mucho payback.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

So; the gnomes are a lot more prepared to the reality of war than most. The elves have generally retreated last 6 years or so and nobody has seen one; been in denial most people think; and from there prospective; this was a human problem started and propogated by humans and was not there problems to solve; they actually killed a whole lot of humans in retribution; something about humans screwing up the state of dreams and bad things moving through Faerie. It was only with the Appearance of the Snakemen that the Elven Host joined the war.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Once more, my math is suspect.

Taking 10 + Heal Skill + Kit Bonus + Sunset assist:
10 + 9 + 2 + 2 = 23

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

As I recall, this being 3.5 and not Pathfinder, a successful heal roll does not return any HP to the person being treated. It does, however allow for increased recovery rates during rest, and the bandaging was the proper thing to do post-battle, being the examining/cleaning, binding and bandaging, even if it serves even a cosmetic purpose.

IIRC, Heal can stabilize on a successful check, but-- eh, let me just look it up.

3.5 Skill: Heal
Use this skill to keep a badly wounded friend from dying, to help
others recover faster from wounds, to keep your friend from succumbing
to a wyvern’s sting, or to treat disease.

Pf Skill: Heal
You are skilled at tending to wounds and ailments.

No immediate change. Possibly some alteration in the table and following description, but no immediate gain of HP. (see Healing Surge)

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

Well I was going to post the info from the heal skill as well, but Me'mori beat me to it.

As she said, there is the long-term care option as part of a heal check that allows for a PC to recover twice the number of hit point as he/she would normally in an 8 hour or 24 hour period, but that requires the injured PC to stop for that long and be cared for by the PC or NPC doing the heal check.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Alright, since Desidera just took ten on a Heal check, what is everyone's current HP at out of how much?

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

I'm at full hit points, which is 5 hp.

Male Human (Britonian/Azurin) Earthblood Knight/2

I am full up, your last heal topped me off and the goblins missed from that point on.

If the top of the last map that was sent is north, I thought that Bob was leading us down the side passage to the south. If I remember correctly, neither Bob or Gloisil liked the looks of the area of the main hall that had the chains dangling from the ceiling.

Male Human (Britonian/Azurin) Earthblood Knight/2

All, just thought I would let you know that Val will likely not be posting this week. His grandmother passed away and so he will be spending time with family. He probably would have posted this himself but got caught up in other things.

sorry about the delay; had a death in the family, had to go out of town for a while.

thanks for letting peeps know for me; my family is not on the net.

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

In the interest of trying to end the lull in the middle of our battle, I thought I'd throw a post out on the discussion thread. Besides, it had disappeared from the list, so this will get us back up near the top for a bit.

Are we waiting for someone in particular? Should we go ahead and start round 4? Just getting a little antsy, I hate cliffhangers.

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

Val,

I also forgot to add some bonuses to my last attack for Gloisil. Not that the bonuses to my attack roll will make any difference since I hit anyway, but I may have done more damage.

I don't ever recall seeing a post from Sunset on what the bonuses from her Inspire Courage are. From the rules it looks to be +1 to attack, damage, and fear saves, but I don't know if she has any bonuses that would increase that. So, I at least should have done one more point of damage.

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

Val,

I keep forgetting about my familiar. Do you have a problem if I just assume that he has been with me the whole time perched on my shoulder or tucked away safely somewhere, or would you rather assume that he was left back at home?

Not much I can do with him at this point, but he has more hit points then I do and can at least help me to do spot and listen checks. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

you familiar is no problem; still with you, smart enough to stay out of the way or perch somewhere safe; feed itself generally; and like that.

ok; thanks, will update the damage; in the old game of d&d damage made a lot more difference as you got exps for how much damage you did and took, same as treasure in which gp translated into exps; 3.5 does exps differently; so other than taking out an enemy; it doesnt make a whole lot more difference.

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

Is the XP that you posted on the main thread the XP for just that battle, or our total so far. I may have missed any other posts about XP earned and I'm just wondering what Gloisil's total is at this point.

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

I searched through the whole campaign up to this point and could see no other mention of experience.

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Now, I realize that the game has certain limits in regards to what can do what, but I would be amenable to a certain relative amount of leeway in regards to things. "Track" seems to be a bit broad, especially -- Ah. Nevermind. My concern would hold more weight had Desidera taken Skill Focus: Heal.

In this case, she is working off of general experience, and no special training. *makes a note for next feat*

Werehare Inquisitive 3/ Seeker 3/ Bard 3

Here's a relevant question: How much does Prestidigitation clean? I do believe that Sunset prestidigitamated everyone, but the degree of cleanliness that can be achieved from that has always been up for debate. Are we squeaky clean? sparkling? just generally clean?

Male Red headed something or other. Electronics Technician 7/Computer Programmer 8/Database Admin 5

It just says 'clean' in the spell description, so I guess it's up to the DM as to how clean it gets us. Obviously though Val thinks wez ain't that clean. ;-)

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

well; it is amount of cleaning involved; you guys were caked and covered in guts; blood; grease; whatnot; I have that spell scale as you get more powerful as a caster. Directed at your own robe; it would be clean; spotless, no stains at starting level; but doing such a large area; it cleans; but not as well. At 5th; 5 people and their robes would be fairly clean, few stains remaining; items bit dull; so at at 10th everyone in this room and thier items would be clean as if ultrawashed; at 20th; everything in the entire room and bit beyond would be pristine clean.

As it did; you spell helped quite a bit; very good to have done considering the amount of harmful materials and substances about.
