Hi Everyone,
Wanted to post on Val's behalf since he will be offline for awhile. His wife gave birth to a little girl last night. 6 pounds 8 ounces. So once the craziness settles down he will be back. Until then I will try to keep you all updated as best as I can.
Congratulations Val!

I thought I would put a little gaming blurb here for players new to my game.
not all challenges are melee fights. Some are traps and some are goal oriented.
Take this current plot thread of Hareld. Here is what the party has so far from the scenario:
This guy is a someone timid creature that works for a tuff, ruthless boss. He is afraid or loathe to wake up the boss without a good reason, likewise; he won't just open the door as either way could get him in trouble so, the party has a few options.
You could bust the door down which would awaken everyone; least amount of exps gained.
You could befriend or bribe or otherwise gain the trust of Hareld if you can figure out his motivation. Most amount of exps gained; keep in mind; if you can overcome this challenge you will still get the exps for this challege regardless if you fight the boss here or not.
You could go another direction or use some magic to get around this block.
in a story line this is a catch or minor setback in which the pc are pushed to play a role and figure out the key to the scenario. All the clues to him are in what he has said, thus this is a verbal puzzle.
a bit about experience.
each creature you defeat is worth experience.
each scenario challenge you overcome is worth experience.
so, when I set up an encounter it reads something like this.
boss - 500 exps
elites- 3 at 250 exps
scrubs 5 at 20exps each
plot complication; 700 exps.
so; if you can find a way to overcome the plot complication; in this case Hareld; and by pass the encounter with the monsters; say by sneaking through the room. you have still overcome the encounter and get the total exps for the encounter and plot complication.
so, if you just fight the bad guys; you only get that experience. This was developed for characters that are build and not all combat based; so that they could have a large part in the game and adventure and make a real exp contribution to the team.

*Bows*
I apologize for seeming out of sorts and hope my ooc comments weren't out of line.
I understand the 'Role playing' aspect of the PbP and am happy and hearty to indulge in doing so. The thing is, almost every character has tried to either bluff or intimidate, or both to have the door opened/released. So far with no effect for our roles or role play.
This door has slowed the game to a halt....I for one am now willing to say 'Stuff it' and just move along.
The problem with this is it may harm any plans the Dm has in regards to the new players who are awaiting in the wings to join.
My two cents worth *Bows*

I was going to say the same about Koridur, but Me'mori beat me too it. Other then that, the list looks accurate.
I can certainly play one of the NPC's without too much trouble. I'm currently playing three in the table top campaign that I am part of. My character, and two NPC's that we talked into joining our party.
Just send me the stats and everything I need to know, and I'll take a swing at it. Hopefully, I will not strike out.
(Sorry about the baseball metaphor, it's just that time of the year. Go Dodger's!)

Here is a link the the post detailing what was found in the pool: Link to items in pool

Read through the thread after the pool. Koridur was given the sword, Gloisil tried to identify all the items. As far as I can tell, none of the other items were handed out, although Gloisil also put the necklace on and saw or received some information on the item the party is seeking.
I'm assuming that Gloisil is still possession of all the other items.

That seems about right. Desidera currently wears the necklace of pearls, the rest (sword, arrows, acorns) still are held between Gyldyr and Gloisil.

I'm still here as well.
Val, I'd be willing to post for Gyldyr if you can get me some stats for him, since you mentioned that his online stats changed. Or, if you'd like I could create a new version of him myself. If you have some guidelines for background and such I could do that for you.

Yes; there is a spear from the pool; it will need to be cleaned up as it is full of gunk, do you want to do it yourself or will you ask one of hte dwarven spirits to do it? Gloisil did sense magic on this spear earlier so it is probably better than what the dwarves would give you.
Desidera will most certainly want to clean the spear up and get it sorted out, since she may be the only one that will want to use it. She will of course defer to the knight if it would better serve him.

Now...here's a passing thought.
Since we're in a 'safe place'.
Might this be a good time/place to add some more people to our group to replace the losses imposed by Real Life creeping in and trying to steal our fun?
Just thought I'd toss the idea out there.
Very much cheers to every one in the new year! (^_^)
