Gloisil Murigel |

I'm going to post my first round action now as I'm going to be busy this weekend and I don't know how often I can check the message board.
Gloisil pulls out the wand given to him by his uncle, points it at tendrils of water rising out of the pool of water, and says, "Temper Fieray! Friends, my guess would be that a thing made of water does not like fire."
If the creature is still around on his turn, Gloisil will use two charges from the wand to cast Scorching Ray.

Valegrim |

Kurg charges but the water creature is to fast for him; tendrils of water wrap and entangle him, Kurg struggles but is pulled into the frothing water struggling to escape.
Koridur's weapon slices threw the water without any discernable effect to the creature but...
Awaiting Sunsets action; Sunset:
Desidera, being much faster in this particular case; we breathlessly await her action as well.
Gloisil; pretty sure Scorching ray is like other ray's and needs a to hit roll; might be a ranged touch attack; let me know.
Gyldr's dark purple magic missle streaks across the air and zaps the creature; roll damage please.
Mox twitters and dances, having no clue how to fight water; swings his staff at it to no effect.

Valegrim |

Koridur, unlike Mox who is also at the pool swinging at the creaure; your tall enough to see inside; make a perception roll; as a warrior; you can add your level to this roll to notice things during combat (a little advantage I give to straight warrior classes, Rangers get them in thier environment; rogues in crowded cities; and so on.
roll of 1; 1d20 ⇒ 20 was it fate; critical fumble, or the vile creature; Koridurs weapon fails to free Kurg; but cuts into the Ork leaving a trail of blood.

Sunset |

Sunset's Turn:
Knowledge (Lore):1d20 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 3 + 4 = 26(To work out more information about the Water thingy)
Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7(To just 'see' what is going on)
How is Kurg goin'? He's not in too much trouble at th' moment, right?
"It be a creature o' magic, I'm thinkin' magic be th' best way o' hurtin' it...or drivin' it off..." Sunset calls out to her friends.
Diplomacy:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8(Untrained)

Desidera Tahn |
Desidera had little in the way of offensive abilities, let alone knowledge of what the creature was. After pulling Sunset out of the way, she grips her spear, looking for an opportunity to do something useful with it. Attacking water was not something she though of as very effective. Instead, she looked around the cavern that they were in, for something useful.
Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12

Valegrim |

what distance do you consider safe?
also, am assuming this is still in the hallway giving the creature partial cover from the side of the pool...scorching ray is range touch right?
Gyldyr remains standing safely far away from the creature, and begins casting scorching ray. On his turn, of course.

Valegrim |

you have the feeling that this creature is EVIL and if nobody helps the Ork somewhat soon; he could drown.

Valegrim |

ok; round one summary.
Koridur and Mox smack the creature with unknown results; hard to tell if smacking water has any effect.
A purple missle of pure arcane energy shoots from the Drow and sizzles the creature who begins frothing in the water with ...pain?
the Ork charge is ineffective as he gets flipped into the water and held down.
a ray of fire leaps from Gloisels hand and sizzles off the far wall.
--------
round two.
The Ork gurgles under the water making a stam check but turning bluish
the creature howls in Aquan
"Die elf; let your blood be free of the evil of your flesh you warped, twisted creature of filth"
a blast of water hits Sunset for 4 pts of damage.
PC turn; Glyrdr readies a scorching ray; what about the rest of you.

Sunset |

Round Two.
The Ork gurgles under the water (Making a stam check.) but turning bluish
the creature howls in Aquan
As a blast of water hits Sunset (For 4 pts of damage.)
Sunset 'Yeeks!' as the high pressure, and cold, spray of water hits her. Shaking the water from her eyes with a fierce shake of her drenched blond hair she looks to Kurg,
Ref Roll:1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Before taking a very deep breath and running and jumping into the animated amount of water. Pulling her short sword, she does her best to inconvenience the water elemental and get Kurg out of said predicament.
Att Roll:1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
Dam Roll:1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

'Safe' would probably be outside the entire complex, but since that's not an ideal option Gyldyr will be standing/near in the doorway, with a clear line of sight to the creature.

Sunset |

Sunset; apparently you are attacking with your sword; but you probably should realise that Kurg and the creature(s) are wrestling in the water and it might be best to wrestle around and aid in that endeavour next round as you slash the water without much effect.
No, the aim was t' get into the dang Elemental and hopefully knock Kurg out'a th' darn thing. I'm confident in Sunset's ability to survive the rounds needed before this over sized, ambulatory rain drop meets its end. Swinging th' short sword around inside th' Elemental wus jus' a lil' somat t' do while I waited.... :P

Koridur grabs at the tendril hoping to free Kurg. "KURG! LET HIM GO FOUL BEAST!
Melee touch attack to start grapple: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
If successful, grapple check: 1d20 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 4 = 7
Man, I think I can get him but Not sure if I can keep him...
Also, perception check. We'll see what we can see here.
SPOT: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 1 + 2 = 20

Valegrim |

I see Gyldyrs action; but dont see his roll to hit or damage yet and need our healers action.
Gloisil seeing the effect that Gyldyr's Scorching Ray had on the creature, triggers the wand again while saying, almost screaming the words, "Tempter Fieray!
Attack - ranged touch: 1d20+3, Damage: 4d6 Once again the die roller fails me!

Valegrim |

ok; that is the round I believe; if not; just it and we will adjust;
Steam vapor fills the room and the beast writhes in agony; but fights on.
using multiattack and grapple; the beast tries to grapple Sunset, Koridur and Kurg. Now provided Sunset and Koridur are continuing to help and choose to wrestle to help save Kurg from drownding; team bonus and strenths and assist will probably overcome the strenth of the creature; this will be a roll vs roll; so decide who is primary and who is assisting if you want to do this; your fairly confident that as long as the mage power holds out, they can beat this thing - evidence of all the vapor fire and energy slung around so far.

Gloisil Murigel |

Gloisil tries to stedy his shaking hand as that is obviously what is throwing off his aim, or so he says to himself, and takes aim at the watery beast one more time. Gloisil says, Tempter Fieray, once more holding as still as possible and trying not to hit his companions.
Ranged touch attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23, Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 4, 4, 1) = 11
Critical check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19, Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 6) = 16, well I think the die roller just made up for the last couple of missed attacks.

Valegrim |

I dont consider an elemental to be alive except for on its home plane; at home it is alive; summoned they arent really alive, but a construct. So, if you think this is an elemental; then go by that. I suppose if you brought one here in such a way that it lived here or was native to this plane; then it would be considered alive in some respects though not mortal so not alive in other respects.
well; their all entangled in each other and the wormy type beast of water.
Are elementals, per the rules, 'living'?
In what shape do all the people physically fighting the thing seem to be from my vantage point?

Valegrim |

good shot.

Valegrim |

With assistance; Kurg breaks the creatures hold and stands up in the pol; which is to just below his shoulders; he takes a large gasp of air.
Mox chitters and swings missing everything.
Desidera? you action.
think that just about fills the round; post if you havent acted; just to keep things in sync; post actions as round #; so next is round #3
thanks.

Sunset |

Round #3;
So's, has we kilt it? I is unsure, by th' readin' of yer last post DM.
Sunset drops her short sword, as she remembers the gift given to her, seeming so long ago, by her N'uncle.
With a graceful twist she draws the long sword, who's handle protrudes from her pack.
Now's we mean business!

Gloisil Murigel |

Round #3
Gloisil now a little more steady and sure of himself stretches out his arm pointing a finger at the elemental creature and says, "hud taflegryn!".
A bolt of energy springs forth from Gloisil and streaks towards the creature hitting it's mark.
Gloisil casts Magic Missile dealing the creature 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 points of damage. Yes! Max damage, gotta love that.

Glad the arcane is favoring somebody today.

Desidera Tahn |
A bit of indecision held her as Desidera stopped looking around and moved to swing her staff at the thing that Kurg and Sunset were stuck in. There was no small amount of uncertainty in her expression, but there were several things going through her head at the time, but that was academic. She had been trained in her weapon's use, and there was little wrong with her technique as she attacked.
Attack: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
Whether or not she hit the correct location of a water creature in a pool of water however, that was something that she had to discover for herself.

Valegrim |

no; you has not yet kilt nor banished it yet; close; butts no cigar

Ok; this round of combat sends the creature back to its home plane howling as it is water and protoplasm body dissapates.
the frothing water and murkyness subsided after a few moments; Kurg spits out some water and is gasping for air for a bit; nods to the dwarf and grins stupidly at Sunsets wet body; turns nearly to a lear.
at the bottom of the pool is a collection of things from victims past.
roll search to find anything not obvious; otherwise
in coinage:
you find 23 Platinum pieces
you find 126 gold pieces
you find 82 electrum pieces
you find 522 silver pieces
you find 1254 copper pieces.
you find a total of 14 gems; worth yet to be determined by the party
you find a short fighting spear that is not tarnished or damaged by the water.
you find a short sword that is not tarnished or damaged by the water.
you find 4 arrows that are not tarnished or damaged by the water.
you find a lot of garbage that was once weapons, bags; pouches; many bones of dwarves, goblinoids, rats and such and other refuse at the bottom.

Sunset |

Sunset helps the heavy, thick Orc out of the pool. His weird facial expressions seeming to mean nothing to her.
(Sorry, just how wide/deep is this thing again?)
Before moving over to sit on the edge and take off her heavier gear.
(That being the back-pack, swords etc. :P)
Then, the plucky young Elf hops into the water and swims down to search about for anything of interest.
Swim Check:1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32(Can take 10, even if distracted. Which searching the bottom of a strange pool in a dwarfish place would certainly count! :P)
Perception:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Sunset does her very best not to stir up the remains and silt as she diligently searches about.
Also, any hidden hatches, doors, panels, places, thing-ys?
(^_^)

Valegrim |

it is about 4 ft deep in some places; 3 ft in others as there is a heap of stuff at the bottom; cleaned out; might be six or so feet deep by your estimation.
also, you need to roll search.

"I too have few spells left, but I still have quite a few charges left on the wand my uncle gave to me. I think I could at least manage to check to see if any of the item that were retrieved from the pool are enchanted."
"Just let me know if you want me to check for enchanted items."
