To Val:

Spoiler:
End of Round 4 Stats:
Group 1 - 7 Dead, 1 w/3pts
Group 2 - 3 Dead, 1 w/3pts
Group 3 - 3 Dead
May Change dependent on Merrik

Round 5:
Fort: 20(d20)+5=25
After beheading a goblin, attacks another with the backswing. Attack: 7(d20)+6=13
Damage: 4(d6)+7=11

m half elf Paladin 2

im a bit confused at the moment, are there still goblins infront of me? are there goblins within 20ft?

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

There in one in front of you Galen; and one off to the side with a sling; that one isnt in the room properly but in the hall through the next room. the one with a sling is new; re-enforcement; there is a doorway between you and him as well as the goblin in front of you.

m half elf Paladin 2

thanks val,
Galen attacks a goblin in front of him
attack hits ac 14 damage if hit 24
Fort save 17

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

At the whispered warning from Bob, Gloisil looks behind him to see if there is a goblin in sight to shoot at.

Is there a target behind Gloisil that he can shoot at? If not he will move past Galen (if possible) into the room ahead and step to the side of the door, so I am not blocking Galen. Gloisil will then reload his crossbow.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

you it; gobby is eviserated.

Galen Stormwalker wrote:

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

yes; you can see a couple gobbies; the ones pressing by doing their 5 ft steps to close with Sunset are them most threat.

Gloisil Murigel wrote:

Round 5

Fort. Save: 1d20+1 = 19

Gloisil seeing the goblins closing in on Sunset, turns, loads his crossbow and fires at one of the goblins.

Light Crossbow Attack: 1d20+2 = 17, Damage: 1d6 = 5 hp

"Take that goblin! Sunset, hope that helps ya out some."

Male Halfling Rogue / 1

Round 5: I'm not doing well with these spores. I better sit down.

Rolls a save of 5+3 = 8. If my memory is correct, I lost 4 points of con, the first time, I rolled a 3 con drop the second and another 3 this round, lowering my hit points by 5. Took 1 pt of damage from the sling stone, bringing me to 2 hp. Where is that cleric?.

Instead of sitting I will try a sneak attack on a nearby goblin (near Sunset).

Rolls a 13+2 = 15 with my dagger doing 1d3+1(+1d6 sneak attack damage?) = 1+1(+4)=2(6) pts of damage to it.

Then he attempts another hide.

Rolls another 20+12 for 32. YES!

Fem Elf Bard 3

Round 5

Sunset continues to gag and choke,

Fort save:1d20->[11]=(11)
Con loss:1d4->[4]=(4)

(O.o)Oh cr@p! We's takin' hp loss from the spores as well? Gag! V_V Okays ever' thin' adjusted.

Sunset staggers, falling to one knee as her lungs become even more congested.

m half elf Paladin 2

val do we die if our con hits zero? also do we lose one hp for every 2 con we lose if so people we must consider retreat, i dont think the cleric can do anything about con loss. This is evil Val!!! fort save or con loss, then the DC goes up and if we have lost con our save goes down, very nasty!!! (i am impressed though!)

Fem Elf Bard 3

I'm hopin', an' seem t' remember Val sayin', thet th' Con loss were 'Sub dual' damage. So's when th' Con stat hits Zero th' character falls unconscious. An' I'd be assumin' thet th' Con loss would be causin' more sub dual damage type things t' be happenin' wi' th' Hit Points loss as well. Any way ye slice th' serve I'm gonna be dead weight. V_V. Rilly, rilly sorry guys V_V.

hehe the thing your characters are learning here is that most goblins are lazy and weak combatants; but use all kinds of traps and cheap but effective solutions like these mushrooms and other biological or chemical weapons.

as for con hitting zero; well, all kind of interesting things can happen depending upon how it occurs. Luckily; these are not undead spores...its a magical world; chaos outwieghs law; anything can happen

as for loosing hps; you only loose the hps you gained for having a high ability score bonus to hp and suffer the hps from having a low ability score if you get that low.

increased dc of the save accounts for how much the intensity of the spores increase as fighing over the mushrooms churns them up into the air; hehe good fireball would stop it though; hehe, there is a ceiling to how thick the mushrooms can get.

Well, no posts from Brother Kedan and no response to emails; hope he is ok; will npc him a bit till he comes back.

_________

with a warcry, brother kedan begins to lay into the nearby goblins with famed pictish ferocity aiding the archers and the rear of the party.

round 3; hit; 7 damage; one dead on Sunsets side
round 4; miss
round 5; hit, 8; kills another on Sunset's side.

spores saves:
round 2; success
round 3 success
round 4; failed
round 5; failed.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

ok; has everyone acted; top of the next round?

Male Human (Celtic) Ranger 1

To Val:

Spoiler:
End of Round 5 Stats
Group 1 8 Dead (1 slinger left?)
Group 2 7 Dead (All Dead?)
Group 3 4 Dead (3 Left?)

Get her out of there. I will hold these.
Round 6
Fort: 13+5=18
5ft step in between the goblins and Sunset. Swings at the goblins to keep them back.
Attack 5(d20)+6=11 Miss

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

That would actually hit the wounded one that got shot, as he is stunned,k if you want to hit such a gobby.

Galen goes for the slinger unless there are goblins nearer
he moves up
hits ac 25 damage 22!
fort save 18
having smashed through 6 goblins, Galen is covered in gore and blood (some of it his own) he yells "FLEE GOBLIN SCUM OR DIE"
(intimidate if necessary 18)

Fem Elf Bard 3

As Sunset is overcome by the cloud of spores and the Goblin wounds part of her rails at being so useless to her friends. As it is, trying to breath and not completely collapse takes all of Sunset's attention.

Fort Save:1d20 - 2 ⇒ (11) - 2 = 9

(O.o) Awe maaan! I in't gettin' no sort o' break V_V.

Con Damage:1d4 ⇒ 3

With her vision fading and breathing becoming even more labored, interspersed as it is with great hacking coughs, Sunset's sword slips from her fingers.

I'm bein' useless. V_V. Sweet oblivion take me worthless hide!

Male Halfling Rogue / 1

Finally, I make a save 1d20+3 Fort,+3 Hankie = 26.

Realizing that this could be his last round, and seeing Sunset start to drop Bob attempts to lead/haul her out of here.

What kind of roll would you like for that?

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Round 6 Actions: Fort Save:1d20+1=20, Yes, Gloisil saves again!

Seeing Sunset going down and dropping her weapon, Gloisil shouts, "No!"

Gloisil lets go of his crossbow with his right hand and begins to motion with his hand in a complex pattern while chanting in his quick spoken gnomish language. At the exact moment that he ends the chant with "navitas absentis", his hand points to one of the goblins surrounding Sunset and Mogue, and a missile of energy flies from his hand towards the goblin.

Gloisil casts Magic Missile at the nearest goblin to Sunset and Mogue.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

ok; roll a reflex to move; the stone floor is drenched in blood and guys with the gory remains of the goblins you have decimated.

this room is 40x40 so will take more than a move; the slinger begins to run as soon as he sees you coming forward, guess he is following orders.

Healing roll if you want to help her that way; or strength check and reflex roll if your trying to pick her up and move her either back the way you came or forward into the room that has just been cleared.

The goblins; seeing the decimation of their numbers take heart from the falling Elf; yet having lost their numerical advantage; must check morale.....yikes; their running.

The gobbies fast action pull a teather to a sack on their shoulders and a mixture of stuff; pepper; flour; sand; powdered bone and god only knows what else goes flying about making sight bad and breathing even worse; heck they have their cheeks all puffed out like their holding there breath; well, except on guy; who did it the opposite blew all his air out and got a good lung of garbage <his eyes roll up and he looks faint> well, the other all flee; the dust makes attempts to hit them harder; -3 to rolls for visibility; also take a reflex roll to get out of the area; like around the corner; or a fort save to just endure it and tuff it out. Reflex save will forgo your free attacks at their back; failed fort save will add another -2 to your rolls for effects of the minor poisons of the so called dirt bombs.

reflex save; 15; +3 to your roll if you make a spot roll dc 12 and a wisdom check dc 12.

fort save is 15.

Sorry, I spaced it. Magic Missile Damage: 1d4+1=5

Male Halfling Rogue / 1

Bob grabs Summer and lifts her onto his back in a fireman's hold. (Strength roll = 11+1=12)

But as he attempts to head outside he slips on a particularly gruesome goblin body and falls smack in the middle of the body. (d20+4 = 3+4 = 7)

May be time to make another stomach check. (Ok, 19+Fort 3 = 22).

At least I don't make much more of a mess. Well, so much for that idea. I am glad to see that they are fleeing.

If I didn't have an elf on top of me, I might try fleeing myself.

Fort save:1d20 - 4 ⇒ (8) - 4 = 4

Sunset fails as her wracking coughs make holding her breath impossible.
As her Con slips to 4,

Her breathing from the combination of original shroom spores and now even more dust and air laden with things, Sunset can do little, though she tries valiantly to resist the urge to expirat over any one.

Not sure o' th' spellin' fer th' big fancy word. Means t' upchuck. :P

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

Gloisil spots the goblins tugging at something on their backs ...

Spot Check: 1d20+6=18

and realizes that they are about to set off a trap of sorts that is going to make breathing even more difficult. He shouts a warning to everyone as he tries to jump out of the way, ...

Wisdom Check: 1d20+1=12, wow, just made it.

and makes it to the relative safety of some cleaner air as the goblins retreat behind their cloud of dust and debris.

Reflex Check: 1d20+1+3=18

m half elf Paladin 2

spot 9 wis check 6 Galen is too involved in the fight to notice anything!
fort save 24 (natural 20!!)

attack on a fleeing goblin ac 20 17 damage

"ok i think we should retreat while we have the chance"

Galen will go over to Bob and sunset (to bob) "if you dont mind perhaps i can help with sunset",

galen should be easily able to lift her and then he will start(carefully) going back the way they came.

Male Human (Celtic) Ranger 1

You can not escape.

Stays in the cloud and swings.
Fort 13(d20)+5=18
Attack 10(d20)+6=16
Damage 6(d6)+7=13
Pulls out his bow as he moves out of the cloud towards the goblin that is running

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

well, expirat is not a word hehe; maybe expectorate: to expel from the lungs or throat by coughing, hawking, or spitting; hehe.
done maybe expeditiously; hehe that is characterized by promptness; hehe due to this expedition: an excursion journey or voyage as for war or exploration; hehe but do the the shrooms as the expellant the party experiences, or as to say; expertize explicitly the possible explosion of expellant from Sunset who was exposed and thought to express or expostulate the situation; hehe, ah; gm's explication complete exploitation of the expellee.
<evil chuckle>

ok; final tally; goblins do some damage; but the party lays waste to a large number of them; need to count up those able to run; they will close any doors wildly as they flee. goblin morale suffers this day; but a bit of hidden glee from the fall of the elf.

The party has a round or two to egress before it is probably any gobby reinforcements arrive; remember the horns after all; hopefully no gobbies have circled around to where you entered....yet.

Mogue; you spotted a place that is at least a bit defensable outside the cave a bit; higher ground; some rocks and bushes for a bit of cover; no place to stay very long; but best quick place to decide course of action.

After the quick and very bloody battle; there are lots of goblins in various states of carnage and blood is everywhere; any gobbies who come this way will either be very scared or with suffcient numbers; very vewy angwie; ahem; angry.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Mogue takes a bead on a fleeing Gobbie; gobbie screams and runs faster...seemingly aware of his comming doom.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

<posting for Brother Kedan again>
At lass, I cannot do much for this infernal choking fungus in here; we must leave for it to clear from our lungs; we require a good shot of grain alchohol like corn squeezins to kill this stuff; does any have any; or know where to quickly get some; are not goblins drunks; might they not have some?

Male Human (Celtic) Ranger 1

Fires at the fleeing goblin.
Attack 12(d20)+6=18
Damage 5(d8)+6=11

Hope thats all of them, but if not, start heading out of the cave. I am going to do what I can to arrange the bodies so it looks like they were fighting themselves instead of us, so if any escaped and bring others back they might not believe those who fled from the battle. Glosil could use your help to make this faster. Also please pull out crossbow bolts and collect Sunset's crossbow.

To Val:

Spoiler:
Any weapon that has blood on it I will stab into a nearby goblin to cover the blood. Remember I have a returning arrow, so I dont leave arrows in bodies.

Fem Elf Bard 3

Sunset continues to make 'cat=hair-ball' noises in th' corner :(

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Ok; to make the scene look like that, it is kind of like a forgery with is int based rather than any perfom, disquise, bluff or like that which is charismas based; the scene has to stand on its own as a forgery of the actual scene.

will give you a +2 bonus for your hunting skill; +2 bonus for your class <ranger> which gives you knowlege of tracking and of these goblins and the fact that they have lots of animosity, even against each other.

How much time are you going to spend on this in rounds; figure you can move two bodies a round; with gloisil helping; that will be four a round that you can put in various poses; those Astinos killed are so mangled and so powerfully cut through; that is going to be the biggest problem in your illusion as goblins dont hit that hard to completely bisect another goblin.

Luckily; goblins arent that bright; though some races that use them as fodder can be...

Gloisel; if your going to help; roll Forgery or Int check as well and will give a modifier to Mogue's roll for your help.

hehe as this is a opposed skill check for the goblins; hehe more than likely it will cause a fight between those to make it and those who dont and them arguing about who is right; hehe.

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

"Okay Mogue, lets get this done as fast as we can."

Gloisil will help Mogue move the goblin bodies as he directs, and will collect any of our arrows and bolts that he can find.

Int. Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

Another check against spores if still needed. Fort Check: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Nice roll; aught to be positive help to Mogue's idea; if you have any ideas to help; I will modify as we go.

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

Brother Kedan follows Sunset out, back the way you guys came in; who is leading those out and where are you going once you leave the entrance? you may wish to scroll back; I drew an outside the cave entrance picture; father out is lots of junk and scrub pine bushes and dirt; knee high grass starts about a mile out as the junk thins out and the high plains take over.

Male Human (Celtic) Ranger 1

Will spend no more than a minute(10 Rounds). As for the bodies that Galen killed, I will pile them together and put a few others on top of them so it looks like they jumped on them and hacked them to pieces, then were stabbed in the back.

Forgery roll: 11(d20)+2(Int)+4(Mods)=17(+any others mods you want to add.)

Will also keep listening for any sign of them coming back. Listen 8(d20)+9=17

Cover tracks on the way out: Survival 19+9=28

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

nothing yet on the listen; no current pursuit from inside the lair.

clearing tracks; looks like its going well; you also pluck off some things from party members brushing to close to the spikes; ripped clothing and the like.

just waiting on who and where the party is going from whomever is leading while mogue and gloisel clean up.

Fem Elf Bard 3

Still 'hoarking', snuffling and generally being miserable. Sunset stumbles along dejectedly not caring where she is being led. Her mind too fatigued by the ordeal her body is going through.

Am I still makin' th' sick cat noises? How does a bod go abouts recoverin' from 'Gobber flu'? V_V

m half elf Paladin 2

Galen will lead the others back outside and wait at the entrance (he is not going to go to far and leave Gloisil and Mogue)
Glois and Mogue please hurry!, more goblins may turn up at any moment

Male Efreeti, advanced manthing 45HD

[same as usual: time, rest, pleanty of fluids...sweetwater or gain alchohol would help]

Sunset wrote:

The party doesnt have to wait long; after about a tense minute; that seems like an hour under the pressure of possible discovery; Mogue and Gloisel can be seen coming to the cave entrance...

Male Gnome Sorcerer 3

As he approaches the rest of the party near the cave entrance Gloisil says, "Let get out of here and find somewhere to take cover, before these goblins get brave again."

m half elf Paladin 2

"Mogue, i suspect you are most capable of finding us a secure resting place, i will follow your lead on this, Good idea aboout the goblins by the way!!"
