GM Zer0darkfire wrote:Yeah, thanks Hmm. I really want to run a PbP special at some point, but I've got no idea how much work grad school is going to throw at me since it'll be my first semester. Some of this is going to depend on what grad school and what major you are going for. Some professors see grad students as low rent employees to do their research and menial tasks. Others make them do the 100 level teaching dirty work for them. Other grad schools are pretty simple, but it depends on your major.
I wouldn't get too much stuff started with grad school looming just in case. Also, part of this depends on the load and your goals. It is vastly more difficult in grad school as the expectations change dramatically. In the field of history, most grad school work is far more heavier in the academic writing and historical research than the undergraduate focus was.
Plus, if you plan on going for a doctorate, your grad school work through the MA will determine if you get accepted as a doctoral candidate.
Don't want to flood the Recruitment chat here too much, but I'm getting my Masters degree in Library Science with a concentration in public school libraries.

With the various school deadlines, I haven't gotten round to GMing a game recently. This post is meant to correct that!
I have been sitting on the module Gallows of Madness for sometime and have decided that I would like to take it on. Played through it once and found it quite enjoyable, and hope that as a GM, I can make it so as well. So this is recruiting for a full run of this module, consisting of 3 semi-independent adventures.
I'll be recruiting 6 players for this, bringing the same characters through all three adventures. As such, all characters would need to start at level 1 to keep in level throughout. They do not need to be freshies though. Having one or two XP is fine. (In fact, it would be helpful as you would have additional resources, although that is not strictly necessary.)
Although each adventure is technically evergreen for level 1s, you would level up after each adventure, so you would not be able to join if you have done any of the adventures at level 2 or level 3.
If you're interested, please sign up at my sign-up sheet. Recruitment is not on a first-come-first-serve basis. I select by party balance, past experiences, posting history, etc. Also, I usually give preference to new players.
You should also know that while I aim for at least a post a day for myself and my players, my schedule is quite unsettled for the next 2-3 months so there may be times when posting might become erratic.
Alright, for this game of Gallows of Madness, I've decided to reserve a slot for GM Worg to return a favor for being my GM in the Solstice Scar. Will have a lottery for the remaining 5 places.

Is recruitment still open? Can I sign up under table two? and what does that mean? I just finished my first pfs pbp and am looking for my next, though I am in the middle of a non pfs now as well.

Unfortunately the table is currently full and I am at capacity to run a second table.
With that being said it looks like there are roughly four players interested in this scenario if another GM doesn't mind picking it up.
GM Aerondor |
Can the following please head over to Shades of ice
Jack (Luke Parry)
Kaya Leafwing (Pete H)
Farlen Mizzul (Wydroe)
This is a CORE table, but we have room for three more, I'll accept those on a FCFS basis.

If Dru and Dale are both going for a second table then I should definitley bring out Faliana as well!

Hello again everyone! I just wanted to remind you that Signups for Cards Against Gnomanity are going on, and we still have a bunch of seats available. We are now no longer restricting the number of tables you can sign up for. You can sign up for as many tables as you want, with the sole restriction that we would prefer you NOT sign up for multiple tables of the SAME adventure. At the end of this week, we'll be examining the current signups to consider merging some tables if they do not fill up.
Cards Against Gnomanity II runs from June 21st through July 21st. If you're interested in trying out Pathfinder Adventure Card Society through play-by-post, OR if you want to play in the We Be Heroes module for the Pathfinder RPG Playtest, come sign up now!

Decided to scratch my GM'ing itch -
This is one I've wanted to run for a while now.
Recruiting for 9-01 The Cost of Enlightenment, to start as soon as we have a party ready to go.
Please post here with basic character details and your availability.
This scenario is probably better at low tier (1-2), but I am happy to run it high tier (4-5).
The scenario is quirky - it contains philosophy (sort of) and is heavy on social encounters. If your favourite thing about Pathfinder is grid-based tactical combat then this is not likely to make your top 10 scenarios. But I think the quirks make it ideal for the play-by-post medium.
I'll select by lottery if necessary, but will prioritise characters who are available, who have up-to-date character sheets / profiles, and who will make a party in the same tier.
(This will be run in Standard mode, ie Not Core.)
GM supervillan |
Hey Supervillan,
I'd be happy to play! I have characters in both tiers.
Hop on over to this thread and post a couple of character details, TriShadow :)

Recruitment open for 9-14 Down the Verdant Path, looking to start Monday!
This is my first time running a play by post, so as long as you're ready to be a little patient, I'm excited to GM for any of you guys!

Due to the high interest level I have decided to run two tables, one low tier and one high. Unfortunately I still couldn't squeeze everyone in.
Please check here for your tables, and my apologies to those who missed out.

GM Worg is looking for some lively recruits who like adventure in Isger and into the past of the Pathfinder Society itself!
•Fallen Family Broken Name
•What the Helm Hides
Consider joining today! (Both Scenarios are 1-5, 1 sign up permitted per person. Lottery will be rolled to determine players.)
GM Worg |
Sign ups happened fast for Fallen Family Broken Name, so I will roll off who gets into that scenario now.
If the roll off did not favor you, I can place you in What the Helm Hides if you are interested in that instead, and then we can get these underway quicker.
As Supervillian is currently GMing for me, I will return the favor and let him have a guaranteed seat in this adventure.
Highest numbers win.

Recruitment for The Confirmation is having a soft opening! This is my first attempt at GMing in PFS, I'd love it if at least one experienced GM could play to offer constructive criticism or advice and guidance if necessary. I'm new to the format but eager to learn, and hope to continue GMing in the future if all goes well!
If I'm missing anything, please let me know!
GM Choptop |
Thank you for the welcoming support everyone, if I need assistance (bound to happen) it's nice to know there's a helpful community. One slot remains for a Level 1 run of The Confirmation!

Recruitment open for PFS#09-04 The Unseen Inclusion. I’ll take the first 6 to sign up. I’m running 1 table for low-tier, but I’ll think about running a second for higher tier if there’s interest. Link for signup sheet is below.
"Haunted you say? Then you've hired the right pathfinder!"
Signed up with a medium 3 once I read the blurb about "haunted".

Actually, can you drop me? More of my games are ending and I think I'm going to do some GMing instead of playing. I'd delete myself, but I dont want to mess up your waitlist.

Posting here as well as not everyone reads the recruitment forum.
I am looking to guage interest in playing the recently released Passing the Torch, Part 1. This is the start of the Season 10 seeker arc which may resolve the Grandmaster Torch storyline. I will be running this as part of the next gameday but as I have it all prepped I thought I would see if there was interest now. Some things to bear in mind:
1. This is a tier 12-18 game. Level 12/13 characters cannot play with level 16+ characters. I will not be taking first come, first served. Instead I will look to put together a reasonably balanced party solidly in one tier.
2. High level games can take quite some time to resolve. There is quite a lot of combat in this one and high level combats can run for multiple rounds. This effect is magnified in PbP. As such I will be looking for at least one post per day if not more to keep things running.
3. I will be using Roll20 for maps for this game for various reasons. A Roll20 account is free to set up but if you dont have one you will not be able to play.
4. I will be asking for full character details before I accept anyone into the game. You should have a complete profile linked to an alias here on the boards with a completed tagline.
Having said all of that the goal is to enjoy ourselves and this scenario does look like a doozy. It's a great starting event for dealing with Torch and I am also happy to guarantee a place in Part 2 for anyone who plays in Part 1.
If you are interested in playing please fill in your details using the link below. I dont need everything at this point but class, level and a link to your profile would be helpful. Depending on response and my ability to check over character details I hope to start by Friday July 5th.

I'm looking for some folks to help a couple of Pathfinders continue in their quest to experience everything Hao Jin Tapestry. They just finished The Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment and are moving on to #4-07 Severing Ties.
I'm pushing to finish this before Game Day so I'll be taking the first 4 folks to check in and we'll start right after we get enough players.
If you're interested recruitment is HERE.
