GM Zoomba is looking for another normal mode (non-core) player for Season 1: City of Strangers. (Tier 1-7)
It looks like the game will be run at the High sub-tier (6-7).
If anyone is interested, the Recruitment page is >>HERE<<

It depends on if you're a GM looking to recruit or a player looking to sign up.
GM looking to recruit: The lodge typically uses the gameplay thread to recruit, but the recruitment ought to be done in character there. For example I use my retired seekers to "recruit" with a link to a sign up sheet. Most of the GMs in the lodge use a google spreadsheet for sign ups. The typical technique is either FCFS or lottery after a sign up window.
Player looking to join: Dot the gameplay thread (in character is best.) Keep an eye out for GMs looking to recruit tables. If you sift through some of the thread you'll quickly get a feel for the technique.
Good luck and welcome!

I was looking to run an evergreen trilogy starting with Master of the Fallen Fortress, followed by First Steps, ending with Consortium Compact. Anyone interested in doing all three with new PCs? I am planning on a fairly quick pace so I need players to post 1+ a day.
Yup, I'm down.

Can do... have a few 'one adventure' characters available, but I see you are full... maybe next time!

If there is still a spot, I am interested in this

My Season 4 campaign needs a level 5-7 character for 4-05: The Sanos Abduction. If you're interested, please check out this post.

A tall, weathered man enters the lodge and surveys the gathered Pathfinders.
"Well, they keep dragging me back. What a bloody mess that last job was... Nevermind that! The Ten need a few good agents to handle a delicate assignment. A wedding! Some lucky Pathfinder is marrying a wealthy Quadiran. Bunch of relics involved too, that's where you'll come in..."
Recruiting is open for Our Lady of Silver on GM Derek W's signup!
Hoping to start by the upcoming weekend if possible (June 3).

A taldan man answers the newcomer's call with a wide grin spreading on his face:"I'm not too sure about the luck of the fellow involved, but sure as dwarfen greed I'm up for some relic grab... ahem, recovering!" he says moving towards the man.

A lanky sylph rushes into the the lodge, a stiff breeze following in his wake. He slips a sealed envelope under the door to the Venture-Captain's office.
"I might as well, as I'm headed back there when I'm done. That's assuming that I manage to get all the invitations to said wedding delivered in time. My name is Altair al-Behzad."
Rogar Valertis Alastoris |
I´ve never been in a quadiran wedding, and people say it´s something you had to experience at least once in your life. Count me in. says Garret excited to travel to a new country.
"People say that? Really? Strange I've never heard good things about Quadira... and to be honest I heard even less about marriage!" chuckles the Taldan.

doting this
You'll want to dot the gameplay and recruitment threads as well. That's where most of the recruiting typically takes place. The gameplay thread is like an open role play thread for the Flaxseed lodge, so players typically make a Role play post in character in the gameplay thread.

It's true that people often post OOC stuff in the gameplay thread. :-/
But FWIW, I thought the GMs posting like that wasn't too big a deal since they were only breaking the third wall a little bit and were speaking as if they were there in the lodge.

The scruffy looking ranger looks over his list and snorts.
"Well, I'm ready to round up my crew for Quadira. It'll probably take 6 of you to say out of trouble..."
I forgot to mention that I usually do a first come first served type of signup. I'll give the first six players until Saturday night at midnight U.S. Mtn time to check in (about 48 hrs.), then move on to those in the wait list. I'm looking for PC's from Great Green God, Aerondor, Michael Hallet, RainyDayNinja, Roger Valertis, and GM Aarvid.
Please post in the thread below when you're ready.

it is more of a second discussion thread now.
I apologize for my breach of Lodge etiquette. I shan't post in Gameplay again. :(
Hmm
first off I am sorry, I kind of regretted the post but it was too late to delete. I think If you came in as a character it would have been much better. the interactions are great its just I have problems relating to the post coming from a GM. without it being an actual game and you are the GM.
Looking for my first mission!
I hope you get the one you like. If I did not have so many games already I would start one up.

This (my GM persona) was the character that I wanted to introduce to the lodge. I am again sorry for the etiquette breach. My intent was to be friendly and say hi to everyone in a fun and whimsical manner.
:(
I didn't understand that the culture of the lodge meant that only PCs interacted in Gameplay.
Hmm

Like I said it is no big deal, just threw me off a bit, I was really not sure how to respond.
GM's do post when that are announcing a game or calling the players that are in their game to report to the correct thread.
As for Etiquette I really am not 100% sure what it fully is.

Don't feel bad about learning to navigate the lodge AT ALL. There's no instruction manual, so it's learning by process. Maybe we should write a manual :-) I post in Gameplay as my GM persona all the time to advertise games.
I shot you a PM with some extra stuff just to help. :-) Most importantly, welcome aboard!

I'll just clarify since I'm the one who created the campaign:
- There are no rules that only PCs can post in-character in the gameplay, but most people prefer it to be kept that way.
- Recruitment can still be done through the gameplay thread. Again, most people seem to prefer when the announcements are done in character like this or my own posts like this. Again, it's not a requirement and there are plenty of GMs who just make an OOC announcement in the gameplay thread, but I think most people appreciate when the fourth wall is left in tact as much as possible.
- The gameplay thread is intended (and should be used for) announcing new games, so ultimately just announce them however is most convenient for you. It's just meant to be an easy way to get players and an easy way for players to find your game, as adding the Flaxseed Lodge to your Campaigns tab is easier than monitoring the recruitment page constantly.

Don't fret. ^_~ You aren't the only one to post or reply as your GM or root account persona. I replied "in character" as myself when responding to other's PCs who gave a little Mother's Day toast. Primarily because I am a mother, but none of my characters are! I also tend to post to the thread where the discussion I want to reply to is, but I just use [ooc] tags when speaking as myself.
