[PFS] GM Roxxie's 9-14 Down the Verdant Path

Recruitment

Open recruitment for a table for Down the Verdant Path, so characters level 1-5 are welcome. Let me know your intended character and anything snazzy about them you’d like me to know, as well as what faction they are in.

I’m willing to run this core or standard, based on interest. This is my first time GMing a Play by Post game, so I ask for patience as I work out pacing and the like. Beyond that, if I have more than a full table, I’ll take preference to staying within a subtier and hold an off-screen lottery.

I won’t be starting until at earliest Monday June 17, so I will leave recruitment open at least through end of day Friday. Bear with me while I get the off-screen stuff taken care of. ;)

The Concordance

I'd like to submit Vari Varjo for this game! Thanks!

Grand Lodge

I would like to submit Grimaldi, planes Druid horse archer. Grand Lodge

Liberty's Edge

This is caps. I posted that I would play when you first posted in Flaxseed. Here is the character I would play.

Dark Archive

Here's Zhatara, mesmerist of the Dark Archive.

The Concordance

In if you’ll have me :)

The Concordance

I'd love to join. Here's Umbaraki Kulgursson - Kinetic Knight. (I have other options if we go high tier)

Sovereign Court

Level 3 dwarf cave druid will show some interest as well!

Silver Crusade

Level Medium. The avatar is not up to date since he just leveled. He is/will be Concordance faction.

Or I have a level 4 barbarian if you decide on a Core table.

Grand Lodge

here's my high tier submission...i have low tier characters available as well...

Hoo boy this got more attention than I figured it would. I'm looking at my real life nonsense and trying to figure out if i could handle two tables. It looks like I'll for sure be running a low tier standard table, as half of the applicants are 1-2. I'm glad you guys have faith in me. ;)

Very interested. I will have a submission within 24 hours.

Dark Archive

How many is that? Am I too late?

Dark Archive

Dang, nine already. How are you deciding this, first-come? (definitely don't run two tables to start with :) )

Fully aware that this could cost Umbaraki a spot :-p - I'll second PaleDim's recommendation. Two tables, even of the same scenario, really are almost twice as much work, and it's always better to slowly test your happy maximums as a GM rather than risk burning out :-)

The Concordance

In case you aren't going in order of appearance in the recruitment thread, here is PaleDim's newly minted, CORE submission (disclosure, I'll be away this weekend without access to internet, back Sunday mid-day)

Dark Archive

Oh, and you might want to clarify for people that you're running a CORE table, if I recall correctly from your lodge post, because I'm seeing non-CORE submissions here.

So, several good questions.

How will I be deciding which characters are in? I will be holding an off-screen lottery. I'll prioritize keeping the group within subtier.

Core or non-core? PaleDim brings up a good point, as in Flaxseed someone mentioned running Core to give me less things to have to learn. In the opening of the recruitment, I offered to run standard or core based on interest, and so far there are two core to about 10 standard, so I'll probably be going standard. I understand the recommendation, but several of my own characters I've built are outside of core, and I enjoy researching the things I don't know, be it in the materials I own or through the AoNPRD.

One or two tables? I was all but set in my mind to run two tables until I checked this forum this morning. I feel I would be remiss to not take veteran experience into account. I'll spend a good bit of time reflecting on my capabilities and stress load. I have a few good things going for me and past experiences to draw from to properly decide if I have it in me to run two tables at once.

Is recruitment closed? By all means no! Since the selection will be ran via lottery, the last submission has just as much chance to make it as everyone else. If I were to draw today, it would be a standard subtier 1-2 with a lottery to determine the final seat. I've also had interest expressed elsewhere that would add to the total number within the subtier 1-2, so to everyone, may the odds be ever in your favor.

When does recruitment close? Given the immediate interest, I'll revise and say I'll close recruitment Friday, June 12 at 11 AM CT

I would like to submit a lvl 1 human cleric of Erastil. His domains are feather and plant and he will be focusing on the bow. I'll be making a profile for him today.

Liberty's Edge

Submitting Tazra for consideration. She's a Level 1 Half-orc Investigator.

Alright veteran GMs, I'll concede and only run one table to start with.

That said, I have 7 applicants in the 1-2 range, 2 out of subtier, and 2 4-5, all standard. Therefore, I will be running a standard subtier 1-2 table.

Dumpy, Kelsier Palance, Mykel Therinor, Zhatara Smirsset, and PaleDim feel free to submit an appropriate character if you'd like, and if not, thank you for your interest!

Mahuffma, as soon as you have an alias made, that character will go in the drawing.

The other six names are Boom Stick, Grimaldi, Tazra, Nevedno de'Morcaine, Umbaraki Kulgursson, and Vair Varjo. These are in my "hat" of sorts to be drawn from.

Any other applicants will be added to the hat as they are received.

Thank you all for your patience, I will reveal the results of the lottery noon CT on Friday, and look forward to starting on Monday.

Sovereign Court

I'll respectfully bow out!

I agree, you should stick to a single table if just starting out.

Dark Archive

Very good! You've made your decisions. Now for my own part, did you want to start before this weekend (and so would my being absent be disruptive to your start?) I see you have no shortage of interest and I'd prefer your first GM experience be smooth, so if you wanted to start sooner than monday and not worry about botting a character so early I can bow out. If you'd prefer I stay I do have a standard character ready to go. Your call!

The Concordance

This is Mahuffma's alias. He has gone through some changes. He will be starting out at level one as a ranger, and then progressing as a cleric thereafter. I also need to make purchases beyond weapons and armor, but for now...sleep. Good luck everyone!

@PaleDim I plan to start Monday, give everyone over the weekend to finalize character sheets. So feel free to enter your standard character into the lottery!

Grand Lodge

I'll throw my hat into the ring.

Seldiir is a level 2 (just; 3xp) ranger who has just got hold of his hippogriff animal companion!

Dark Archive

I'll follow Dumpy's example. Have a nice game everyone! :)

I hope your game is excellent! Sticking to one table at first is a great idea!

Hmm

Dark Archive

PaleDim standard character #1, a fussy academic elf. He takes missions with the society to help pay his tuition at the Arcanamirium. He finds that they also make great stories in the taverns near campus.

The Exchange

I'm not trying to sneak two spots in your lottery. Enter me once and if I come out of it your choice of which character :)

PaleDim standard character #2, a young elf prodigy trying to make it in a world above her age and maturity range. Despite being "merely" a child, others are often confused and surprised to find her speaking as well as most adult humanoids. Though a sufficient amount of probing reveals that she lacks the earned wisdom of an adult elf.

The following characters were the ones drawn out of the hat

Boom Stick
Eranahu
Grimaldi
Tazra
Umbaraki Kulgursson
Vair Varjo

Thank you everyone else for your interest, and I look forward to seeing any of you in future games I run! Thank you all for your interest and support!

Players, go ahead and dot-delete in the Gameplay thread and I’ll link a Discussion soon, along with a small survey. ;)

Here is the discussion thread, I'll post a brief introduction to the boat ride so that the characters can introduce themselves, interact, and discuss the letter bringing them together.

Liberty's Edge

Ah bummer, I missed your post where you said Kelsier was ineligible. He is the character I wanted to bring (he has played one of the "Tide of" scenarios) so I guess it worked out.
