Yep that is exactly what happened, I was just being lazy on my phone reading up on the archetype lol

There should be a thread for superhero-based character builds/exploits/play patterns on the site. I'm just sayin'. I've got about four of them myself.

To all the games I am presently in:

I apologize for not posting more; I have two computers, a laptop and a desktop. This site works on the laptop, but it's an incredible chore to use due to a nearly-nonfunctional keyboard - OTOH, my desktop works far better, but for some reason this site has not worked on it at all for over a week!

I don't know what's happened on the website end, but I hope they fix it soon!

What happened.

I would suggest you try logging in using ‘private browsing’ or ‘incognito’ mode — the name depends on the browser. If that works, clear cookies and cache data. That will most likely allow you to log in again in normal mode.

I don’t think they have anything more that they can fix with the log in.

In case you need it, here is the recommended procedure for clearing Paizo data.

So how's everyone getting on with the grey spoilers?

I have to admit, for me it's a major fail. They're ugly, they disrupt PbP character sheets, text is more difficult to read and dice expressions even more so. On mobile browsers the new indentation is not compensated, so where we had nice centre-justification now all the spoiler text is just shunted to the right and it jars.

Website admin say it's a deliberate change but they're looking at the green-on-grey contrast issue.

If you haven't noticed the change, here's an example:

Spoiler:
explosive runes!: 6d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 1, 2, 1, 2) = 11
I'm really not a fan.

VC - Sydney, Australia

It isn't really adding any value for me.

not a fan...i didn't realize it was a thing until my last post for my swashbuckler..doing his parry/riposte rolls...i spoiler them...i was like...umm...what is this?

Grand Lodge

Also not a fan, but TBH I thought it was just my browser acting weird.

The only benefit I could possibly see is that it differentiates the spoilered text from what's not behind the spoiler. I know that I've sometimes had to click the spoiler button a couple times to open and close it so that I could tell what was and wasn't behind it when amidst a long post of many small paragraphs.

But I'd rather they use a bar along the side like many manuals do to indicate a change.

The contrast needs to be addressed, but I prefer a clear delineation between what is spoiler and what isn’t. It makes a huge difference when you include spoilers mid-post. No more guessing where spoilered text ends.

A few messages have been sent forth to Paizo concerning the contrast ratio and colors as it is incredibly difficult for some folks with color blindness to differentiate the content. The messages are being forwarded to the Director of Technology within Paizo.

I like them for that reason as well. No more adding lines at the bottom of my spoilers to indicate the end of them.

I’m glad the color issues are being looked into.

I kinda hate excessive spoiler tags on character sheet pages anyhow. As a GM they force me to hunt around for stats guessing what a player thinks "Defense" might include rather than just seeing the thing all at once and realizing at at last that no they never did post their CMD.

I don't think I've ever had a problem with determining what is and what isn't a spoiler. And if I did, two clicks and I would know... unlike spoilers on a character page... Why are her saving throws under "Base Stats"!?!? Carn sarn it! It was the last spoiler too!

Regardless I find it curious that they did this instead of other things like reattach the old search bar function for the character avatar page or fix the {bigger} tool from the old bigger (which was a little bit bigger than normal) to the "extra huge" (which is the current bigger), or maybe even add more avatars, and fix some the mistakes (i.e. humans showing up as elves or vise versa, combining the 'Repitilian' and 'Reptilian' categories, etc...). Maybe they could have even created a "night mode" screen display.

Oh, and keep of the damn grass! ~Old Codger Who Thinks Things Were Better in the Old Days.

The spoiler shading doesn't seem to be a problem for me but I also use a dark mode browser extension.

Not too bothered by the gray box, however, it does need to be lightened a bit.

I don’t care for the gray change for spoilers.

I agree with a lot of Cohen’s points. Why fix something that isn’t broken, when we could have more avatars and an avatar search function that works more efficiently, for example.

Having said that, I am conscious as I get older that I disagree with almost every change being made, because I can make the (jaded) argument it is being made to reduce costs while also reducing quality.

[Dilbert® style cynicism]”Fixing the Post Monster is too hard. Let’s give them gray spoilers instead! That should shut them up about the server architecture for a while …”[/Dilbert® style cynicism]

I also wonder with all the crap going on in the world, is this really such a big deal. But you know what? This is my hobby too. I care about it. I remember a time when play-by-post was nearly excluded from PFS altogether.

If we the customers, don’t point out things we don’t like, who will?

I remember kicking off that first PBP Community Multitable Special event back in the day (Year of the Shadowlodge) - heads exploded. It was a scandal, people complaining that we couldn't do it, was against the 'rules

etc. That was in 2016 when PbP was still fighting for 'legitimacy' against a bunch of grognards.

I like that the spoilers are easier to pick out from the background now.

I really dislike the colours they chose. The grey could be a lighter one (similar to how they do quotes, or even lighter), and the text remain black.

I vote for Cyrillic, man! Doesn't get used enough. Or maybe that kinda cloud font that girls in middle-school used to have all over their notebooks. Oh! With an eye-watering color-shifting neon psychedelic background.

We have to give (constructive) feedback, otherwise the changes won’t be perceived as problematic.

As of a little over twenty minutes ago (just after 7PM GMT), the spoiler text color has been reverted while the programming team reviews the issue.

"Master Dool, my good man, I do understand your plight. Not even yesterday I had to deal with several complaints from the nobles in Egorian who have apparently been unfairly targeted by various harbormasters throughout the Inner Sea by a recent, largely unfair hike in their mooring fees. Some of them are even considering reducing some of these vessels' crew sizes to compensate. Would you believe this? trying to make do without some of their ladies-in-waiting, in some foreign port, while their dresses are being fitted for a formal gala... the horror!!"

I, for one, appreciate a space where the real world doesn't intrude. I have a position on certain real-world events, but still don't care to see a post here about real-world events even if the position aligns with mine.

Thanks, Paizo, for keeping this space firmly in the realm of fantasy.

PaizoCon 2022 Announcement
Great news everyone! PbP games will continue to be incorporated into PaizoCon Online 2022!!!

We will have a total of 45 PbP tables at PaizoCon. (PbP will have access to the new scenarios also releasing at PaizoCon as well as Author-ran tables)

PF1E (4 Scenarios)
PF2E (20 Scenarios and 6 Bounties)
SFS (15 Scenarios and 6 Bounties)

  • There will be a cap of 3 PbP games per GM (This is enough to earn a free badge)
  • Your games must take priority as we need a hard cutoff of 6 weeks for all games. (July 12th Completion). If a GM cannot meet that, their game simply ends and gets reported as-is (i.e. if the party hasn't beaten the BBEG, the game gets reported as the PCs failed to achieve conditions XYZ).
  • Your PbP game must be ran on one of the PbP Lodges so that we can help track games.

If you are interested in being a GM for PbP you will need to go and complete the PaizoCon 2022 Volunteer Registration at the link below.

Organized Play Foundation website (Volunteer Registration)

Important ((This is important or you might be assigned a VTT table.)) There is not a radial to distinguish PbP within the form so at the end of the questionnaire, underneath additional comments, you need to type in that you are a Play-by-Post GM underneath the question Any other items you would like the organizing committee to consider in reviewing your application?

If you have already applied to GM and wish to GM PbP Tables then please send an email to the email below with a note that you wish to GM PbP tables:
    paizoorgplayhq@gmail.com

Also do not forget to join the PaizoCon Online 2021 Discord server. The link can be found in the blog post above.
