Val casts a spell on her staff and cautiously advances Shillelagh .
Rocco sends a pebble flying towards the cultist in strange orange robes and Kurglunn helps Oren punch the green-clad bad guy...
Both attacks hit, but Kurglunn puts his target out of his misery while Rocco's only suffers a minor bruise.
Screaming like possessed madmen the remaining cultists charge at the heroic Silver Ravens slashing with their talon like claws! At the same time the head cultist drinks a potion and disappears. Rocco is not fooled by the trick though...

Oren, Lirotha, don't forget the flag (+1 to hit and damage)!
Elurius gives a put-upon sigh, and flips her hair about as the cultist gets close and tries to lay it's filthy nails upon her. With an eye roll, she pulls out her x-shaped cross section heavy mace and steps forward. ♫"Ughh, They're trying to touch me."♫
She hefts he mace and tries bringing it down on the head of the cultist who had the wherewithal to try harming her pristine skin.
At Lirotha's comments, though, her face turns serious and her eyes shoot up to where the cult leader had been casting his spell. She silently curses for a second before glancing at Rocco, asking ♫"Do you still have eyes on him? Can you point him out?"♫
Lirotha's spell causes even more wounds to appear on the cultists' bodies before hitting another one with a magically charged tarot card. Taking advantage of this Elurius finishes one off while Oren does not need any help in breaking the ribs of unfortunate man she punches, making him immediately collapse.

Elurius, watching Rocco carefully, and tries to use her well trained ears to narrow down where the cry came from. She drops her mace and quickly casts a spell in the general area of the cry of pain. After a second or two a small blanket of purple and silver colored puff os light settle down over everything in the area.
She then turns and picks up her mace getting ready to advance in and mess up a ritual if needed!

Not sure which of the two enemies at the right that Oren can see. If she can see either one, she moves there and attacks. If not, she will moves toward the lone cultist to the south and try to take him out. DM, will you move me on the map to the appropriate target? Thanks.
You guys really need to read the GM's and each other's posts more carefully. The cult leaser used a wand to attack Rocco. She's visible now! Oren, I went ahead and moved you up to Orange so I can use my spell on the cult leader for now.

"Dammit someone get to the altar!" The Hound says as he delivers a right hook at the cultist that's dogging him.
Your combined attacks are way too much fort the cult leader and his last remaining minion to handle. They fall, and as they do they curse you and invoke Mahathallah one last time.
This leaves you with the entranced Luculla and a room full of dead cultists...
Loot:
Provided you can identify them, the leader had with her a wand of hold person (9 charges), 2 potions of bear’s endurance, 1 potion of cure light wounds, 1 potion of cure moderate wounds, 1 scroll of glyph of warding; a +1 chain shirt, a mwk net, a mwk sickle, a cloak of resistance +1, a ring of protection +1, and a strange key. She also had an amber-and-jade facemask of Mahathallah worth 500 gp, and gold unholy symbol worth 100 gp
Each of the cultists had a wand of hold person (10 charges); 1 leather armor, 1 mwk net, 1 wooden unholy symbol, 119 gp
Lirotha immediately starts barking orders with out thinking about it, and dismisses her still ongoing spell.
"Well done Silver Ravens! Elurius my pretty, check on the civilian to make sure she's OK. Rocco, secure any valuables for the cause. Oren, Val? Please keep an eye out and watch for any further enemies. Spread out and keep an eye out for the children...or any remains of them. I can only hope that they are somehow still alive somewhere in the evil lair."

Oren admires the shiny magical chain shirt, ”This could help me from getting hit so easily,” she says, checking it’s size. If there is no objection, she takes it, puts it on and hands her normal chain shirt to be added to the kitty.
She also takes a potion of bear’s Endurance to hopefully stay in the next fight longer.
Moving swiftly from one cultist to the next, Rocco's eyes continue to bug out more and more. "One, two, three...SIX WANDS?! Whoa! These guys had some funds to throw around. We better be careful. Looks like we figured out how these guys were coming by their victim though. Look at all these nets. They're pretty good quality. Hold on, let me see what these wands are for..."

"Uh...Lirotha? You wanna take a look at these?"
With the loot properly compiled, Rocco's attention is drawn to the still spellbound Luculla. "Anybody wanna help her out? Nevermind, I got it!" He climbs up toward the altar and slaps the woman gently on the face. "Hey, wake up! It's not safe here. Wakey wakey!"
Some of you search the hall for the twins but it's apaprent they are not here.
Meanwhile Luculla Gens seems to slowly regain her senses, although she appears to be confused still:"Ohhh... my head... where am I and who... no wait I know you, you are the nice people from Setrona's place, although I don't see that handsome singer... where are we exactly? Did you... did you kidnap me???" she asks sounding more agitated by the minute.
There's another small room in the back of the hall. Also you never completed the search of the room the devil came from. I trust you remember who Loculla Gens is, right?
She was the woman Morricone was talking up in the bar earlier: Morricone looks around the common and suddenly finds himself staring at a young, frail-looking, dark-haired woman in a simple dress, a patch over one eye, soft leather gloves on her hands, and a fancy rectangular talisman hung about her neck. The woman smiles back at him and approaches:"You are new here. Nice to meet you. My name is Luculla. Luculla Gens."///As for myself I must confess I have a pretty boring life. I own a small confectioner’s shop called “Sweet Tooth” that shares a roof with the Tooth and Nail. I often stop by Setrona's to hand out treats. Apparently candied blackberry tarts are among the most popular of my offerings. You could try them out, I think you'd find them pleasing..."
Lirotha makes sure her mask is in place again, and replies to the woman.
"Relax milady Gens. You are rescued! These cultists had you in their clutches and we came upon you as they were...Well, luckily we stopped their nefarious deeds before they were performed upon you...I think. Although we never identified their ritual."
Suddenly suspicious, Lirotha casts her Detect Magic cantrip again...to make sure the woman isn't possessed or controlled by magic in some strange manner.

At Lirotha's suggestion, Elurius moves up closer to the knocked-out form of the civilian with an ♫"Aye, Aye... Uhhhhh, captain?"♫
After a second to think she turns back, ♫"Do we have codenames for each other? It wouldn't do to be using our names in front of others."♫
She then moves closer to the downed form, but t the last second remembers that her flag bearing the mark of the Silver Ravens is still on full display. She quickly takes it down and rolls up the fabric, before taking a look at the downed woman.
Heal:1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
After a moment Elurius starts panicking over not being able to find a pulse on the back of the woman's neck and starts trying to apply compressions to her chest, until Rocco starts waking her the hard way and then Lirotha comes over and heals her. Slightly embarrassed, she stands back and watches the woman for a second.
When it's clear the woman recognizes the party, she readjusts the portion of her dress that covers her lower face and glances at Lirotha to make sure everything is okay, and gesturing slightly.

Elurius glances at Rocco, a small smile on her face, batting her eyes at him. With just a hint of reproach and mischievousness, she comments ♫"Are you suggesting that pretty little me is being a problem? Why I never!"♫
She doesn't back away however, just in case something goes wrong or some sweet-talking is in need.
"I... I think so. I just need to breathe. I was in my shop cooking pastries... and then someone came inside spoke to me... and now I'm here... wherever that is..." Loculla voice trails off for a momentg
"On second thought the halfling is right... I may need a moment on my own" but as Lirotha prepares to cast her cantrip she eyes her suspiciously and says:"I've had enough of magics! I won't allow you to play with my mind as those thugs did!"
Suddenly suspicious...Me thinks she doth protests too much! Dangit! I wish we had identified that ritual!
"Relax milady. We only want to be sure you are OK. The spell is a simple divination cantrip to help determine your health and safety. Yon ritual may have done something loathsome to you that you may not be aware of! Also, we have slain a full devil to rescue you! Why would we willingly harm you now? Oren stands close by to the rescued woman. She wasn’t sure exactly what was happening, but she was ready for anything.
Lirotha and Oren both are sure Lucculla is being entirely truthful with her statements.
Luculla doesn't seem willing to acquiesce to Lirotha's request:"I really don't think so. I'm kidnapped and suddenly wake up in a strange place amidst carnage..." she points at the line of corpses you left in your wake "...and then someone I barely know tries to cast magic on me? I think not!"
From a few feet away, Rocco mutters, "Told ya so."
Rocco calls over to the group of women, "Ahm, Miss Gens, we're sorry you got kidnapped by these weirdos. We really aren't here to do you any harm, just trying to find some kidnapped kids, and happened to find you first. Lucky you! Anyway, my friend here isn't trying to do anything creepy, just making sure your head is clear of these guys' magic. You can trust her, but if you're not comfortable, that's okay too. Elurius's face twitches slightly at how badly Lirotha's efforts to calm and earnt the woman's trust rings in her ears, and then shudders as Rocco's comments sound even worse. She steps over to the witch and in a slow singing voice comments, ♫"Now, now, she really is just worried about you. Here, she can cast the spell on me first and once you see that it's harmless, might we be able to cast it on you? I promise on my pride as an opera singer, which is something I value dearly, we mean you no harm."♫
Luculla's eyes dart from Lirotha to Rocco and back as she grows more allarmed. Fortunately enough, Elurius' sweet voice appears to calm her down a little:"Yes... I'm sure you mean well. I'm not used to this kind of stuff... Would you please give me a moment to collect my thoughts?"

Anyone else for hitting the room the demon came out of?
Preparing to cast her cantrip once the woman is relaxed enough, Lirotha turns to the others.
"Let's keep looking for the children. Quickly now! I want to know if they or at least their remains are still here or not. Let's check that devil summoner's room first. I fear we might be too late..."

Elurius smiles as the woman obviously calms down, letting Lirotha cast the spell on her, showing Luculla that the spell is truly harmless. ♫"See, completely safe. Now your turn!"♫
After that all gets sorted out, she turns to Lirotha a little shocked and confused. ♫"Wait we came down here for children? I thought we were here for her! I agree, let's scout everything out!"♫
With a last glance at Luculla, she asks, ♫"You want to stay here or come with us?"♫
"Right, we came here because we heard these freaks had abducted some kids that went missing a little while ago. Now I guess we know why they got abducted. We just gotta hope we got here before they did to the kids what they...uh...you know." He collects a portion of the cultists' gear to help share the load and nods to the others.
"Anyway, yeah, let's go see the room the scary devil thing came out of. Should be fine, I'm sure."
Despite Elurius' gracious offer, Luculla doesn't seem eager to follow you through the dungeon:"Thanks, but I think I'll wait here. I hope you can find these other abductees... but I have no wish to meet with those who captured me! I pray you can get me back to my shop soon!"
After due consideration you decide to leave Luculla catch her breath and get back to the room from which the devil manifested itself.
An antique wooden desk sits in the southwestern corner of the room, attended by a high-backed chair with tufts of stuffing protruding here and there from its rotting cushions. Partially broken shelves sit against the north and east walls, and strange symbols of a one-eyed insectile face have been painted on the walls along with curving lines of strange, sinister script.
The room seems empty but there's another door leading east. After checking it out you notice it's not clesed but, being partially swollen, it isn't easy to open either...

If no one stopped her, Oren proceeded to the stuck door and tried to move it with her mutagenic increased strength.
"Kurglunn help too!" The phantom approaches the door, but instead of grabbing on to the handle or the edge of the door, he simply pokes his head through to see what's on the other side.
What does Kurglunn see when he phases through the swollen shut door?
With a collective effort the Silver Ravens are able to get the door to break free and open just as Kurglunn spies the contents of the room it guarded.
Two young men, both thin and disheveled, cower in the southeast corner of the otherwise bare chamber. Faces dirty and streaked with tears, both teens are bound hand and foot by manacles chained to a single ring set in the stone floor. Scratches on the stone walls from desperate fingers attest to the fact that these twins are not the first of this room’s recent prisoners.
As they see you they look allarmed:"Who... who are you?" they mewl... "Did... did the masked witch send you? Our birthday is in 2 days she said! You cannot sacrifice us now! It's not right!"
Rocco mutters under his breath as he moves in to free the kids' hands, "Geez, no need to get personal about people's rear ends just cause hers is the size of a house!"

As soon as the kids are knocked out and freed from the shackles, Elurius moves in. She glances back at everyone and ask quickly, ♫"Anyone have a bucket, or something to hold water?"♫
With a few short wave like gestures and a single high note that causes most of the blood in everyone near by to vibrate for a second, she creates a flood of water, into whatever container she could find, or onto the poor boys directly if no one has one. She then tugs on her sleeves and the gown she's wearing soon grows extra long sleeves in the shape and texture of a towel. Using the extra cloth she slowly wipes up any grim or dirt on the boys, checking them over for injuries.

She recoils back quickly after a few seconds, calling out in horror, ♫"Oh, the horror! They've been transmutated to look like each other!"♫
If the humorous heal check failures are ever getting annoying, let me know I can readily stop!
"Relax. They are twins milady. Born that way I assure you."
She immediately casts a detect magic and starts checking the room for magical emanations of any sort. Worried another enemy may hide here in disguise or invisible.
Rocco fails to open the shakles... fortunately he then remembers about the key they found on the cult leader's corpse, which opens bot locks!
The boys are esitant at first, but when Elurius heals them a glimmer of hope starts shining in their eyes:"My name's Angus and this is my brother Phenio" one of the twins says. "Would you bring us out of here? Pa' and Ma' are probably mad with grief right now!"
Angus' brother on the other hand seems more interessed with the fate of their jailer:"Did you kill the masked witch? The one masquerading with the eyepatch? She's a changeling! They all are! They serve a devil goddess and wanted to give her our souls! She told us as much! Are you sure she's dead???"
Alarmed, Lirotha turns slowly to look toward Luculla with the corner of her eyes.
"Changelings. Hagspawn."

Hi everyone, I'd like to invite all freedom loving would be heroes (and the occasional anarchist agitator/revolutionary...) to join the effort to liberate the once proud city of Kintargo from the tyranny of its newly appointed mayor, the notorious Barzillai Thrune!
Here's what to need to know for character creation and gameplay:
Number of players: I will choose 5 players based on backgrounds and ballanced team mix.
Allowed Material: All Paizo material, no third party. Note that I reserve the right to veto stuff I consider disruptive for the campaign.
Races:Stick with core races please. I know tieflings and Strix are appropriate for this campaign but I prefer to keep things simple in this department. These races are a bit more powerful (Strix are much more powerful considering how they get fly since lvl 1) than core races so I prefer not to have to worry about them.
Classes: No summoners of any type. Aside form them, if you want to play another class you can, but I suggest to stick with the unchained versions of Barbarians, Monks and Rogues. Also Fighters (and only them) get Combat Stamina as a bonus feat at creation.
Character building: 20 point buy. No stats higher than 18 before applying racial modifiers. 2 Traits (one from the Player's Guide, one at your discretion). No drawbacks. Average wealth for your class.
Requirements: At least 1 post/day. Exceptions can and will be made for real life emergencies (just warn but I'm not shy about actively bottimg characters, I'll always try to bot them to the best of my understanding of the character motivations/Allignment/Previous behaviour. Usual posting conventions for PbP games (BOLD for talking for example and OOC text for out of contect musings and so on. Roleplay is expected and it's an important part of this AP. Also... READ THE PLAYER'S GUIDE.
House rules: I reserve the right to decrease the power of some spells. For example enervation will allow a save and teleport will be longer to cast and much more unreliable. I'll explain each house rule as soon as it comes up in gameplay. Another house Rule I use is decreasing or increasing check DC's based on roleplay (present a clear argument and you may get a decrease in a diplomacy check for example).
Meliandri Chastain-Aulamaxa is ready for revolution! Well, mostly. I'll need to adjust her traits (since she's built with a drawback, I'll have to eliminate something else, but that'll be easy enough). She's a half-elf bard, foster daughter of the Aulamaxas from her mother, the baroness's sister. Thematically, she's a party-girl and armchair revolutionary (she's read the books, but not past that) whose fun lifestyle is getting seriously disrupted by Thrune's proclamations.
Presenting Edgar Vashnarstill, a young nobleman who gets tangled up in rebellion because of a little mistake called love.
He is pretty much finished, just needs equipment and to remove two trained skills because he was created with the hope of background skills being used.
Actually made a Chelish character once that was a bastard son of one of the Thrunes. Went Mysterious Avenger Swashbuckler, might make him again for this.
I'd be very interested in this and actually have had a character for it for quite a while in the form of Yulia Mulberry
I need to tweak her a bit and add a background but the main mechanics are there. She's a Halfling Warpriest of Milani who focuses on her sling for attacks.
Hey DM Elan, I played a Malkavian in your Dark Ages Vampire game which unfortunately went belly up (was really enjoying it too).
Here is Genevieve a Sorceress for consideration. Based on her Background I was considering Multi-Classing a few levels of Rogue but I may opt to go Sorcerer all the way depending on the group mix. I need to pick Traits still which I will do now.
Edit: Done let me know if you need me to add or change anything.
Dotting for interest here. I know you said all Paizo material, but I'm interested in making a Mesmerist, one of the new classes from Occult Adventures. Would you allow that? The class information can be located here.
Would you allow reflavoring of the Child of Kintargo trait for a noble son from Cheliax? I plan on taking the Noble Scion feat so I can be from one of the major noble families (the House of Thrune, actually >:3), and this trait fits him perfectly.
Hello everyone. My name is Simon, and I have played Pathfinder at my local PFS for 2 years. I love Pathfinder, and I was hoping to get in more games since we only meet once a month.
I have never played Play-By-Post before but I am very eager to learn. I know the tabletop rules and I love roleplaying just as much as combat.
In regards to Hell's Rebels, I created a Human Ranger of Iomedae. He is in my profile. I would like to thank Edgar Vashnarstill for his clean formatting. That template is what I used to make mine organized.
My character, Landius Kresnik, is a Mendevian Ranger who technically "failed" his test to be a Paladin. He is Good and Righteous, and parted with the Order amicably. The only issue is that he's just not currently fit to be Lawful. In the future in terms of character development, I want him to use what he learns from the adventure to make a choice: Will he remain a Ranger? Or will he truly become a Paladin?
Please let me know what you think. I can definitely make changes, as I am still learning. Thank you!
Edit: My apologies! I didn't know others had posted as their characters already. In that case. I would like to thank everyone for their clean character formatting!
Here's my submission: Pylos Thrune, bastard son of a member of the ruling House of Thrune. Sent to Kintargo several years ago to keep him and his distinctly un-Chelish attitude away from court, when the new Lord Mayor began to come down harshly upon the citizens, he took up his training and had a custom mask made and became: The Dashing Blade, hero of the common folk!
Will have a better background up within a day or so, but that's the bare bones about him.
I just found the Hell's Rebels Player's Guide. I didn't know there were unique ones for each campaign. I will fix his traits. Let me know if he has to be from Kintargo instead of Mendev! Sorry again.
Marros Shipsail, human cleric, follower of Pharasma. From the northern lands of Irrisen, focused on making sure that his fellow adventurers survive their encounters.
Hey, I'd love to play this AP! I've been watching it for a while, and it looks really awesome.
Eallos is a cleric, but he's not so much a healer as an all-around solid character. Between divine casting and his bardic performance he is a very good buffer and will be primarily focused on summoning, but the downside of this is that he doesn't even have channel energy until 3rd level, so he definitely won't really be much of a healer at low levels.
Here is Beorn THE DIVINE, aspiring Baritone performer whose hopes of standing on the stage have been dashed by the tone-deaf and uncultured Thruneites.

Description: Beorn is a strapping young man with a thick head of black hair and,(to his dismay) a still sparse mustache and beard. His
orc heritage is displayed by somewhat pointed ears and teeth and ruddy complexion. He attempts to dress well but quite often has to
be satisfied with common clothing.
Background:Beorn(he insists on adding THE DIVINE as his stage name.) was an abandoned child who was fathered by an orcish mercenary on a prostitute while on leave. Cared for until he was old enough for the orphanage, he was selected as part of a 'New futures for disadvantaged
children' project by a noblewoman's group and given an education. Taking a liking to the arts, Beorn took every chance he could to learn singing and became a talented amateur who longed for the chance to stand on a grand stage. However, with the occupation by Thrune forces and
the closing of the opera, Beorn found his hopes dashed and his resentment at the ridiculous laws by the new order grew until he found himselfactually thinking of commiting treasonous acts.
Dotting for interest here. I know you said all Paizo material, but I'm interested in making a Mesmerist, one of the new classes from Occult Adventures. Would you allow that? The class information can be located here.
Yes, Occult Adventures is Paizo material and as such it's open for play.

Would you allow reflavoring of the Child of Kintargo trait for a noble son from Cheliax? I plan on taking the Noble Scion feat so I can be from one of the major noble families (the House of Thrune, actually >:3), and this trait fits him perfectly.
Yes, if you are a noble who was sent to Kintargo long enough for him to know the city well I do not see a problem with the trait. If you also want the noble scion feat you can choose between using the standard feat from Inner Sea World Guide (provided you meet the prerequisite) OR you can choose one House between those loyal to Thrune (Delronge, Sarini, Tanessen). Even Thrune would send you to "a friendly House", at least to keep an eye on you.

He doesn't need to be Kintargian, he just needs a reason to have been in the city for some time (at least a week, so he witnessed The Night of Ashes, as the adventures starts a week after that event).
El Ronza, the Daring Champion Archetype from Advanced Class Guide trades out the horse.
Brilliant, thank you!
Any time!

Ah, I have just now been able to read more of the Player's Guide story. I would like his way in to the adventure to be that he heard the call of the Glorious Reclamation, but he was not experienced or powerful enough to get in deep as a crusader. Instead, he works his way into the city (and the protest!) as somewhat of a personal intelligence mission. He is basically independent of the crusade proper, but he is very sympathetic to it.
His motivation for joining the protest will be "Staying up on current events." His campaign trait will be "Urban Sleuth: Devil's Bells."
I hope that will work out well. I'm sorry that I misunderstood what "Player's Guide" meant. I have never really played an Adventure Path and didn't realize they all had one. I thought you were referring to Advanced Player's Guide at first. :)
I have two character ideas. But need some advice which would fit better
1. Idea is to go for a red mantis assassin. Human
2. Ranger. "Sky Sentinal" archetype. Or Sable Company Marine in the books. Also human
While I didn't set any requirements for alignment going the evil route in this adventure isn't really recommended. You have to fight back against an evil tyrant and his cronies, so it stands to reason most of the group will be good aligned, and evil and good rarely mesh well.
Go for what you like most but realistically speaking the evil character is less likely to be picked.
Well. I did read a RMA is an option and could be useful. Maybe the SR needed a help or they contracted one with the little money they could spare? Hence a low level rogue. Not a full RMA. This could be her trial and if successful she becomes a full member of the RMA.
But if you think a Sable Marine would fit better. Id make one of them =^^= either one can be a lot of fun
So, to summarize these are the characters with a more or less defined character idea/stat block.

DM, here is Gerald's Saboteur Alchemist for your consideration.
DM:
Spoiler:
I think he probably fits best in the Skilled character section, although Support might be appropriate for him as well. I plan on him being a ranged contributor in combat. He has plenty of skills including Disable Device, so he can help on that front as well. I think he'd fit wonderfully beside a bard, if one is chosen in this campaign. Please if you have any questions or suggestions, just let me know. I'd be happy to make any desired changes. Thanks for your consideration.
Here's my Psychic. He left his devoted Asmodean household to focus on developing his psychic powers. he has since been disowned by his family and has officially turned his back on the church of Asmodeaus.
Character building: 20 point buy. No stats higher than 18 before applying racial modifiers. 2 Traits (one from the Player's Guide, one at your discretion). No drawbacks. Average wealth for your class.
A quick question: Is there a date you had in mind for closing recruitment, or is it more when you feel happy with the characters?
Oooops. I was sure I wrote that down but I must have forgotten to keep it when I edited the first post. Sorry for that.
Recruitment will stay open until Sunday, September 13. In order to be chosen, characters need to be submitted before the deadline expires, completed with background, description and statistics in order.
