Hi everyone, I'd like to invite all freedom loving would be heroes (and the occasional anarchist agitator/revolutionary...) to join the effort to liberate the once proud city of Kintargo from the tyranny of its newly appointed mayor, the notorious Barzillai Thrune!

Here's what to need to know for character creation and gameplay:

Number of players: I will choose 5 players based on backgrounds and ballanced team mix.

Allowed Material: All Paizo material, no third party. Note that I reserve the right to veto stuff I consider disruptive for the campaign.

Races:Stick with core races please. I know tieflings and Strix are appropriate for this campaign but I prefer to keep things simple in this department. These races are a bit more powerful (Strix are much more powerful considering how they get fly since lvl 1) than core races so I prefer not to have to worry about them.

Classes: No summoners of any type. Aside form them, if you want to play another class you can, but I suggest to stick with the unchained versions of Barbarians, Monks and Rogues. Also Fighters (and only them) get Combat Stamina as a bonus feat at creation.

Character building: 20 point buy. No stats higher than 18 before applying racial modifiers. 2 Traits (one from the Player's Guide, one at your discretion). No drawbacks. Average wealth for your class.

Requirements: At least 1 post/day. Exceptions can and will be made for real life emergencies (just warn but I'm not shy about actively bottimg characters, I'll always try to bot them to the best of my understanding of the character motivations/Allignment/Previous behaviour. Usual posting conventions for PbP games (BOLD for talking for example and OOC text for out of contect musings and so on. Roleplay is expected and it's an important part of this AP. Also... READ THE PLAYER'S GUIDE.

House rules: I reserve the right to decrease the power of some spells. For example enervation will allow a save and teleport will be longer to cast and much more unreliable. I'll explain each house rule as soon as it comes up in gameplay. Another house Rule I use is decreasing or increasing check DC's based on roleplay (present a clear argument and you may get a decrease in a diplomacy check for example).

That seems to be all. Good luck everyone!

Booyah! Half-Orc Chelish bard who channels BRIAN BLESSED! and fights for freedom of opera.

Meliandri Chastain-Aulamaxa is ready for revolution! Well, mostly. I'll need to adjust her traits (since she's built with a drawback, I'll have to eliminate something else, but that'll be easy enough). She's a half-elf bard, foster daughter of the Aulamaxas from her mother, the baroness's sister. Thematically, she's a party-girl and armchair revolutionary (she's read the books, but not past that) whose fun lifestyle is getting seriously disrupted by Thrune's proclamations.

Shadow Lodge

Welcome MannyGoblin and Meliandri!

Please let me know when your profile are completed so I can start checking them out. Also... HURRAY FOR THE OPERA! :P

. for now. A priest of Cayden.or a fighter. Need time.

We could runa party of all bard! Based on the various roles of singers.

Soprano
Alto
Baritone
Tenor
etc..

Presenting Edgar Vashnarstill, a young nobleman who gets tangled up in rebellion because of a little mistake called love.

He is pretty much finished, just needs equipment and to remove two trained skills because he was created with the hope of background skills being used.

Actually made a Chelish character once that was a bastard son of one of the Thrunes. Went Mysterious Avenger Swashbuckler, might make him again for this.

I'd be very interested in this and actually have had a character for it for quite a while in the form of Yulia Mulberry

I need to tweak her a bit and add a background but the main mechanics are there. She's a Halfling Warpriest of Milani who focuses on her sling for attacks.

Hey DM Elan, I played a Malkavian in your Dark Ages Vampire game which unfortunately went belly up (was really enjoying it too).

Here is Genevieve a Sorceress for consideration. Based on her Background I was considering Multi-Classing a few levels of Rogue but I may opt to go Sorcerer all the way depending on the group mix. I need to pick Traits still which I will do now.

Edit: Done let me know if you need me to add or change anything.

Dotting for interest here. I know you said all Paizo material, but I'm interested in making a Mesmerist, one of the new classes from Occult Adventures. Would you allow that? The class information can be located here.

Would you allow reflavoring of the Child of Kintargo trait for a noble son from Cheliax? I plan on taking the Noble Scion feat so I can be from one of the major noble families (the House of Thrune, actually >:3), and this trait fits him perfectly.

Liberty's Edge

Hello everyone. My name is Simon, and I have played Pathfinder at my local PFS for 2 years. I love Pathfinder, and I was hoping to get in more games since we only meet once a month.

I have never played Play-By-Post before but I am very eager to learn. I know the tabletop rules and I love roleplaying just as much as combat.

In regards to Hell's Rebels, I created a Human Ranger of Iomedae. He is in my profile. I would like to thank Edgar Vashnarstill for his clean formatting. That template is what I used to make mine organized.

My character, Landius Kresnik, is a Mendevian Ranger who technically "failed" his test to be a Paladin. He is Good and Righteous, and parted with the Order amicably. The only issue is that he's just not currently fit to be Lawful. In the future in terms of character development, I want him to use what he learns from the adventure to make a choice: Will he remain a Ranger? Or will he truly become a Paladin?

Please let me know what you think. I can definitely make changes, as I am still learning. Thank you!

Edit: My apologies! I didn't know others had posted as their characters already. In that case. I would like to thank everyone for their clean character formatting!

doot doot. I'll work on a concept here soon.

Here's my submission: Pylos Thrune, bastard son of a member of the ruling House of Thrune. Sent to Kintargo several years ago to keep him and his distinctly un-Chelish attitude away from court, when the new Lord Mayor began to come down harshly upon the citizens, he took up his training and had a custom mask made and became: The Dashing Blade, hero of the common folk!

Will have a better background up within a day or so, but that's the bare bones about him.

Liberty's Edge

I just found the Hell's Rebels Player's Guide. I didn't know there were unique ones for each campaign. I will fix his traits. Let me know if he has to be from Kintargo instead of Mendev! Sorry again.

Dotting for interest :) thinking an unchained rogue, basic trapfinding. More to follow :)

Dotting.

Submitting a gnome Saboteur Alchemist with Pattern Seeking Campaign trait tomorrow!

Dot for interest. Hmm, maybe if I can find a cavalier archetype that trades out the horse...

Liberty's Edge

El Ronza, the Daring Champion Archetype from Advanced Class Guide trades out the horse.

Silver Crusade

Marros Shipsail, human cleric, follower of Pharasma. From the northern lands of Irrisen, focused on making sure that his fellow adventurers survive their encounters.

Hey, I'd love to play this AP! I've been watching it for a while, and it looks really awesome.
Eallos is a cleric, but he's not so much a healer as an all-around solid character. Between divine casting and his bardic performance he is a very good buffer and will be primarily focused on summoning, but the downside of this is that he doesn't even have channel energy until 3rd level, so he definitely won't really be much of a healer at low levels.

Brilliant, thank you!

Description: Beorn is a strapping young man with a thick head of black hair and,(to his dismay) a still sparse mustache and beard. His
orc heritage is displayed by somewhat pointed ears and teeth and ruddy complexion. He attempts to dress well but quite often has to
be satisfied with common clothing.

Background:Beorn(he insists on adding THE DIVINE as his stage name.) was an abandoned child who was fathered by an orcish mercenary on a prostitute while on leave. Cared for until he was old enough for the orphanage, he was selected as part of a 'New futures for disadvantaged
children' project by a noblewoman's group and given an education. Taking a liking to the arts, Beorn took every chance he could to learn singing and became a talented amateur who longed for the chance to stand on a grand stage. However, with the occupation by Thrune forces and
the closing of the opera, Beorn found his hopes dashed and his resentment at the ridiculous laws by the new order grew until he found himselfactually thinking of commiting treasonous acts.

Yes, Occult Adventures is Paizo material and as such it's open for play.

Yes, if you are a noble who was sent to Kintargo long enough for him to know the city well I do not see a problem with the trait. If you also want the noble scion feat you can choose between using the standard feat from Inner Sea World Guide (provided you meet the prerequisite) OR you can choose one House between those loyal to Thrune (Delronge, Sarini, Tanessen). Even Thrune would send you to "a friendly House", at least to keep an eye on you.

He doesn't need to be Kintargian, he just needs a reason to have been in the city for some time (at least a week, so he witnessed The Night of Ashes, as the adventures starts a week after that event).

I have two character ideas. But need some advice which would fit better

1. Idea is to go for a red mantis assassin. Human

2. Ranger. "Sky Sentinal" archetype. Or Sable Company Marine in the books. Also human

Ah, I have just now been able to read more of the Player's Guide story. I would like his way in to the adventure to be that he heard the call of the Glorious Reclamation, but he was not experienced or powerful enough to get in deep as a crusader. Instead, he works his way into the city (and the protest!) as somewhat of a personal intelligence mission. He is basically independent of the crusade proper, but he is very sympathetic to it.

His motivation for joining the protest will be "Staying up on current events." His campaign trait will be "Urban Sleuth: Devil's Bells."

I hope that will work out well. I'm sorry that I misunderstood what "Player's Guide" meant. I have never really played an Adventure Path and didn't realize they all had one. I thought you were referring to Advanced Player's Guide at first. :)

While I didn't set any requirements for alignment going the evil route in this adventure isn't really recommended. You have to fight back against an evil tyrant and his cronies, so it stands to reason most of the group will be good aligned, and evil and good rarely mesh well.

Go for what you like most but realistically speaking the evil character is less likely to be picked.

Well. I did read a RMA is an option and could be useful. Maybe the SR needed a help or they contracted one with the little money they could spare? Hence a low level rogue. Not a full RMA. This could be her trial and if successful she becomes a full member of the RMA.

But if you think a Sable Marine would fit better. Id make one of them =^^= either one can be a lot of fun

Dotting been wanting to run a psychic for a while will make one up some time soon.

So what did you think of my character's crunch and brief background posted earlier? Think he'd fit?

Meet Adney, destined halfling bloodrager

DekoTheBarbarian wrote:

It looks like he could certainly fit. Seems like you spent 19 points instead of 20 for abilities.

Shadow Lodge

So, to summarize these are the characters with a more or less defined character idea/stat block.

Martial characters
-Pylos Thrune - Male human Swashbuckler(Mysterious Avenger) - Spent only 19 points in abilities
-Adney de Montchele - Male halfling bloodrager (destined) - Spent 27 ability points at creation needs to lower them to a 20 point buy.

Support characters
-Meliandri Chastain-Aulamaxa - Female half-elf Bard
-Beorn the divine - Male half-orc Bard

Skilled characters
-Edgar Vashnarstill - Male human Rogue (unchained)

Divine casters
-Marros Shipsail - Male human Cleric of Pharasma - Spent only 11 ponts in abilities
-Eallos Farn - Male human cleric of Milani
-Yulia Mullberry - Female halfling Warpriest

Arcane casters
-Genevieva Ree - Female Human Sorcerer

DM, here is Gerald's Saboteur Alchemist for your consideration.

DM:

Spoiler:
I think he probably fits best in the Skilled character section, although Support might be appropriate for him as well. I plan on him being a ranged contributor in combat. He has plenty of skills including Disable Device, so he can help on that front as well. I think he'd fit wonderfully beside a bard, if one is chosen in this campaign. Please if you have any questions or suggestions, just let me know. I'd be happy to make any desired changes. Thanks for your consideration.

Mmkay, got the unspent point put up! Pylos Thrune is ready to do his part against his family!

Here's my Psychic. He left his devoted Asmodean household to focus on developing his psychic powers. he has since been disowned by his family and has officially turned his back on the church of Asmodeaus.

Here is my application: a shadow (umbral) sorcerer. Let me know if you have questions or comments.

A quick question: Is there a date you had in mind for closing recruitment, or is it more when you feel happy with the characters?

Can't decide if I want to make a Fractured Mind Spiritualist Halfling escaped slave or a Dwarven Brawler...

Oooops. I was sure I wrote that down but I must have forgotten to keep it when I edited the first post. Sorry for that.

Recruitment will stay open until Sunday, September 13. In order to be chosen, characters need to be submitted before the deadline expires, completed with background, description and statistics in order.

Dotting for interest. Checking out players guide now.

Thanks. I may tweak Meliandri a bit between now and then, if I get a sudden surge of inspiration.

Here's my submission! Background and sheet on the profile. Any feedback is welcome :)

Will try to get the other history together tonight =^^=

Dotting, very interested.

I'll dot as well. I think I'll work on something for the arcane section.
