Grolugh takes a look at Risk, Tama, and Diggou. "Friends, gather round. Let the warmth of Mazludeh's Hearth heal your bites."

Once they are huddled near the cleric...

Grolugh mutters in Orcish and waves his hand, tracing sigils in the air.

The mushrooms are about 20 feet away, just at the edge of the bright light radius of the light spell on Tama's shield, so it's a bit hard to make out details. Risk has a flair for the dramatic and repels down with unexpected grace, landing safely at the bottom of the cavern.

Even with Tama's assistance (the rope lowers the Aid DC), Diggou, however, is not so lucky. He does indeed fall all the way down, making quite a thud as he lands on the cavern floor, sending some dust into the air. While he's laying prone on the moist floor, he does see the telltale signs of a trail in the muck, but it's impossible to make out any details.

Observations aside, Diggou takes 5 damage from the fall. Grolugh is halfway down and Tama is still at the top.

Otari Fishery Map

We haven't talked much about hero points so now's as good a time as any. In one game I'm in we're awarded points every Monday. By this point you'd be up to 3, including your starting one. If anyone wants to spend one on the climb, that's your choice. Keep in mind the slow pace of PbP generally means you won't be caught out without one unless things go very wrong, very consistently. I'll withhold rulings if folks want to spend them, and open up retcons for this, as I should've mentioned it earlier.

Grolugh sees Risk bounding down the rock face and takes a quick lesson, finding the same hand- and foot-holds and making his way down without incident.

Rolling your HP? I'll assume that's an athletics check. :)

His mind thoroughly focused on helping others, and thus distracted, Tama still makes progress down the ledge. He doesn't fall, and is about halfway down to the lower level, but he's not having as easy a time as Risk or Grolugh did.

The rope lowered the DC to 10, so you need to roll a 1 to critically fail. Everything else is safe, if without progress.

Okay, if you've used a hero point then you have two more, per the "one each Monday" rule. There is rope, it's tied to a stalagmite. They're not on the map but they definitely exist. I definitely appreciate you trying to be fair, but you do have rope and a place to tie it :)

Later, my dam said we don't eat those much in my clan, and I protested quite loudly about that...and then she explained they don't grow easily in Garund..." He shakes his head. The mushrooms are technically edible in the same sense that small amounts of soap are. They won't kill you, or even make you sick, but they're quite bitter. Nothing in the way of nutritional value, either.

As you recover from falls and gathers yourselves, you peer into an erstwhile dark cavern. The light from Tama's shield illuminates the way, giving you a visage of an ever-descending passage. Pairing with the light spell in this part of the cavern are mushrooms growing on the ceiling which provide a dim, blue illumination. It's a rather pretty effect, and were it not for the vast amounts of webbing the you see before you, it would be quite a relaxing scene. The webbing stretches from floor to ceiling, creating a series of silky, sinewy, shimmering, pale curtains. You can just about make out a very large spider at the far end of the passage.

How does the party proceed? You can try to avoid touching the webs with an Acrobatics check, balancing on rocks and narrow ledges, or you could come up with something else entirely. The spider webs are difficult terrain: moving into such a square costs an extra 5 feet of movement and you can't Step into such a square.
