The wardstone of Kenabres has been broken and the demons of the worlwound are loose! How will this crisis be contained?

Casting: When casting a spell defensivly if you fail you do not automaticly lose the spell, rather you provoke an attack as you normally would for not casting defensive. If you are hit you must make a concentration check dc 10+damage taken if you fail this check you lose the spell.
Rolls:
Many rolls will be handled by the GM in secret.(don't worry, I don't fudge.)
Any result that can influence the character behavior will not be rolled open.
Rolls that will be handled by the GM:
Perception
Sense Motive.
if you make the check I will send you a pm or make a post and put it in a spoiler depending on the situation.
Sometimes I will roll Initiative others I will ask you to roll depending on the situation. In some situation (rarely) I will bypass init entirely and have you all go first and enemies second or have enemies go first and you all go after.
Combat rules:
I'm a fair GM, I dont roll combat in secret, I don't change results, I don't ignore bad calls from the characters.
Sometimes, character dies, but I'm not a player killer, if I think that an encounter will be easy handled, when it should be more challenging, I will make it a more challenging, if the party it's not prepared to face something, I will drop hints, if they insist... well killing one or two players never made me lack sleep...
Actions:
I'm a GM that do not punish the character for trying something new or cool, or even strange. Visual appealing actions are encouraged, the dc will of course depend on what are you trying, but you can try! If what you want to do is wicked cool, I can even bend the game mechanics to allow it! The most importat part is: You are villains. Villains are smart, resourceful and have style! Have you ever seen a memorable villain that could just swing his sword and do nothing more?
Posting Rate
If it could be done, I expect 1/day posting, if you can post more, it will really good.
During weekend, this rule does not apply. If you are able to post, great! But dont stress over this, everyone need some time to rest (In my case, I need time to play and DM :D on my tabletop games).
Level up
Aside from character creation, when you level up, if you want something not from core rulebook, you'll need to search it inside the game. basicly what you need to do is just show in game your character is searching for that knowledge. This rule is not meant to prohibit anything, I just don't like something like this: "Character always as a full caster, never picked up a sword in his entire life, and then he gain a new level and says: Master, I'll level up as a fighter now..."

Its an interesting situation. Delay Poison works on Stinking Cloud as it is a poison effect. I'd think that knowing you are immune to poison would help you be unaffected from illusion poison. No? Ah, ninjaed. The spell worked earlier against a stinking cloud btw.
Ok spent like four hours working on this. It's a bit smaller than I wanted I would have liked a bigger map. Obviously this changes things a bit so feel free to change your actions accordingly and if it stays the same let me know were you move.
Nice map. With this size much of the room and all of the enemies should be inside the 60' radius Daylight effect.

Tessai raised Radiance high, gripping the sword in both hands as she prepared to charge through the illusory stinking cloud. "Back to the abyss with you, demon!"
Smite already declared on BBEG. She'll charge the square she last saw the guy in. If he's really tricky there's a pit in the floor and the illusory cloud is to distract from the illusion covering the hole.

I'm going to stick with attacking the host, as long as he pings as evil. If Ghostbane Dirge could drive a possessing entity out of a body I'd cast that, but all it does is force an incorporeal foe into a semi-corporeal form.

Othello is going to use the Destruction and Justice Judgments. He is also going to cast see invisibility. If I understand correctly, its invisible in darkness right? Thats sound super dumb now that I typed that out.
The shadow demon takes a 5 foot back and uses shadow evocation to cast Lightning bolt hitting Tessai, Tzad and Varn.

Varn immediately recognizes that the incoming spell is simply a shadowy version of the real lightning bolt. He is able to dodge the bolt, feeling only a small amount of static upon his back. "Hah, you cannot fool me with your tricks, demon! Perhaps I should show you what real power looks like!"
He then quickly casts a spell of his own, sending several bolts of magical force into the shadow near Tzad!

Tessai grimaces as the shadow's icy touch passes straight through her armor but soldiers on and steps up to attack the shadow demon host again. "Your shadows mean nothing to the gaze of a true warrior, demon! Take your shades with you back to the Abyss!"
You still need to make the reflex save for the pit if you disbelieves you just take less damage from the spikes if you fall in. The reason it took me so long to post is because I was researching good spells to use shadow conjuration and shadow evocation on :p

First Tzad had a readied action from before you set up the room. The placement of the enemies triggered his readied channel to harm undead. So, need to get that out of the way. It would get the vampire and the two closest shadows. It cost him a mythic point to do.
Contingent Channel to harm undead Will DC 22 for half:8d6 + 1 ⇒ (5, 6, 5, 2, 1, 6, 3, 2) + 1 = 31

Tzad fails to disbelieve the lighting bolt but easily dodges much of the damage. No life link damage this round as Varn and Tessai each took less than 5 from the bolt. Tzad did take 16. I'll need to know what shadows are still up and if the vampire is up before I post the rest of my turn.

So it does... in that case direct it at the remaining shadow. It will do more good against that than the vampire. Force effects will do full damage to it, whereas the others only do half damage.
These are Nahyndrian crystals. Nahyndrian crystals are dark purple crystals formed from the blood of demon lords. They are incredibly rare and priceless as they are nearly impossible to get (You need a demon lord to give you his blood or you need to capture one and bleed it) Their full use an potencial is unknown and is still being explored.
These Nahyndrian crystals have hardness 30 and 120 hit points, and can be used in the creation of various powerful items.
You don't know exactly what they do (That is still being explored actually nobody knows for sure their full potencial)
They radiate a magic aura of overwhelming conjuration and necromancy and [evil] at Caster Level 30.
A chisel made from a small piece of Nahyndrian crystals was once used to damage a wardstone and if the user hasn't been caught at the time could have destroyed it.

Also reminder if you didn't will save against the Stinking cloud illusion you cannot see trough it. I think Aeron failed and I think a few of you Orlando and Othello have not interacted with it yet so you didn't roll the save
The vampire is destroyed by Aeron turning into a gasous cloud.
Only the Shadow demon remains now.
Badly injured the shadow demon laughs "You've damaged my flesh suit quite a bit. Another good blow and General Aldronard will get the death he has craved for so long." it says in a mocking tone.
At the same time a powerful invisible force coming from the side tries to push Tessai into the pit.

Which succeeds I think I have tried looking into if you get a save to grab the ledge and the official answer given by a paizo official in the forums is no you can make a climb check while falling to grab the ledges on your turn if you still falling but in this case you hit the bottom on this turn.
falling damage:5d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 1, 1, 6) = 20
spike damage (you take 20% damage from these):2d6 ⇒ (6, 3) = 9
knowledge history dc 25:
General Aldronard was the paladin in charge of defending Drezen when it fell because of Staunton Vhane's betrayal. It was assumed he was killed along with everyone else defending the citadel at the time. Assuming he was possessed back then he would have been the puppet of the shadow demon for nearly 40 years.

Yeah, she can't beat that 40, so it connects. But what about the pit? She already disbelieved it, so does she think she's at the bottom of a 50' deep pit and needs to climb out or does she just see the outline of the illusory pit and can attack or something else?

Can you update us on the status of the battlefield for us. I am unsure exactly where the pit is and some of the enemy need to be removed I think. Also, did the vampire go gasseous and begin to float off. If so Tazkiel's familiar will try to follow to know where the coffin is.
IF:
If Varn's attempt is not successful the Tzad will blast the enemy with Admonishing Rays to try to drop him without killing him.

With that level of SR its nearly impossible that Tzadkiel can penetrate it to get his spell through, but since he is trying to save the Paladin's (host) life he will have to try. One thought, do get your SR when you are soul jarred into a host? In some ways, like mental, it makes sense. But in others, like physical damage attacks, it does not.

Hey Merc, I switched out Cleave for Intimidating Prowess. I think it fits Aeron a little better than Cleave. Given that he's 6'9" and 280 pounds.... lol! I'll work on finishing up the Background and Description.
That is actually an interesting point Faelyn - I pictured Tessai carrying all her stuff around just for the descriptive sake of it, but I'm not sure how much of the gear we would have with us. If you are newly arrived in Kenabres, it would make sense that your character has all its gear though.

One thing though, is there perhaps a combat map of something like that, where we can see squares and distances and so on?
It's harder to formulate a good battle plan otherwise (and Selka is all about tactics, it's even one of her domains! xD).
On an unrelated note, guys if you want healing or some spell cast upon you (if I have it prepared, otherwise you may have to wait 1 in-game day), feel free to ask!
For most battles I will create and post battle maps were you can see your position but I'm not gonna bother for this one as it should be over in one round.

@Varn It's in my profile somewhere. It may be a bit hidden, but it's there I assure you! ^^
Anyway, right now Selka's prepared spells are: Shield of Faith(D), command, protection from evil, detect magic, light, mending. Plus of course cure spells spontaneous casting and positive energy channeling.
So if you need to be shielded, protected, mended, illuminated or healed I got you covered! ;)
Furthermore, Tactics domain granted ability allows to reroll initiative x times per day, and can be granted to allies as well. So if there is a tough fight ahead, and someone just rolled unluckily for initiative, but they are positive if they could just reroll, get a better result and go before the enemy they'd win us the day, you need only to ask and a reroll you shall receive. ^^
@DireMerc Sure thing, no problem, and thank you. :)

Hey guys, sorry no post yet. We had some really nasty storms come through today and my ISP is still down. I'm posting this with my phone and I don't have the patience to type out a full post on this thing. Hopefully I'll be back up tomorrow.
I do love me some massive hammer damage! Fighters might not have the AoE capabilities of casters, but they sure can deal some massive damage to single targets.
I had a sweet plan all laid out for Tessai to ease up into the Paladin class, but now I've just changed it all around.
My idea is that Tessai will level up as a Paladin, as Iomedae's presence becomes stronger in her heart and soul, but she may not even realize it right away, and perhaps only when she smites evil for the first time, or something like that - I am mulling over a way to introduce it.

Love it!
If it may help you, please feel free to include Selka in your plans, since she is a cleric of Iomedae and all. Maybe when they make camp they can have a long talk about the gods, Iomedae, the crusade, and so on, and that helps inspire Tessai? (Just throwing it out there, of course she is your character and you can do whatever you want! ^_^).
Actually Selka, I was already planning to draw your character in before we leveled up, so that looks like a good idea to me :D
She has had contact with the Iomedae faith by the way of her adopted father, though he never actually indoctrinated her, leaving that option to her alone.
I guess Tessai actually questions even the possibility that, having been born out of who knows what Devil, and living as one in the wilds of the Worldwound for a good chunk of her childhood, she could even be looked upon by one such as the Goddess with anything but contempt.
