Orlando Nedraid
Round 1_____
Looking at the statues with fascination, Orlando is startled when his Dancing Lights dim and the creatures drop to attack.
Knowledge:Arcana DC11: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
"Darkmantles! Use magic light if you can!"
Orlando takes a step to the left and unloads his crossbow in the direction of enemy 1.
Crossbow attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 miss chance? 1d100 ⇒ 20 Auto miss.
Orlando swears as his shot is lost in the dark; he drops his crossbow and draws his sword.
Selka Thunivhen
Damn we are packed tight! ^_^
Selka 5-Foot-Steps to the north-west, then takes a shot at the wounded Darkmantle number 3. She is also threatening Darkmantle 2.
Raven Leafwalker
So by my reading the initiative order so far (as known) is :
17 Selka
14 Raven
11 Tessai
10 Creatures
That still leaves Aeron, Orlando, and Varn to roll and take an action.
DireMerc
Hmm yes so far it's
Round 1:
17-Selka readies to attack wounded one. Kills number 3 after Raven attacks
14-Raven attack number 3 for 10 damage
11-Tessai breaks free of grapple.
??-Orlando fire his crossbow and misses then drops his crossbow and draws his sword.
??-Varn no action yet.
??-Aeron no action yet.
10-Creatures
So Orlando needs to roll init and Aeron and Varn need to roll init and post actions.
On their turn the creatures will fly back up towards the roof provoking attacks.
You can start posting round 2 actions.
Varn Sophas
init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
know: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
round 1
Seeing the beasts drop down from above and attack Varn fails to recognize the creatures. Hearing a shout about the nature of the creature he quickly moves north to gain a clear shot at one of the beasts.
two north if the e. Attacking 1 or 2 if one is dead.
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
+1 point bleed
round 2
Seeing the effectiveness of his last shot Varn once again summons his bamboo weapon with his mind.
attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
damage: 1d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
+1 point bleed

14-Raven attack number 3 for 10 damage
11-Tessai breaks free of grapple.
??-Orlando fire his crossbow and misses then drops his crossbow and draws his sword.
??-Aeron no action yet.

17-Selka:
14-Raven:
11-Tessai:
??-Orlando:
??-Aerom:
10-Creatures:
Aeron Stillwater
Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Round 1 - Aeron takes a five foot step forward and engages #1 with an attack. Not sure if a 14 is a hit...
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Darkness: 1d100 ⇒ 34
Damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 1) + 9 = 15
Aeron begins to look around as the darkness suddenly surrounds them; however, his human eyes do not allow him to see much. Thankfully the group has some magical light brightens the darkened cave slightly. He hears the attack followed by Raven's screams. This moves him to action, the steps forward towards the nearest creature and swings his hammer!
Round 2 - If Aeron's first attack misses, then I will attack #1 once more! Really???? What's the likelihood of two 7's in a row...
Attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
Darkness: 1d100 ⇒ 50
Damage: 2d6 + 9 ⇒ (5, 2) + 9 = 16
Aeron swings at the nasty creature once again!
DireMerc
Round 1:
22-Varn fire a magically conjured arrow at number 1 badly injuring it.
17-Selka readies to attack wounded one. Kills number 3 after Raven attacks
15-Aeron attacks and misses number 1
14-Raven attack number 3 for 10 damage
11-Tessai breaks free of grapple.
??-Orlando fire his crossbow and misses then drops his crossbow and draws his sword.
10-Creatures fly up if capable, provoking attacks. Tessai, Selka and Raven get attacks.
Aeron I will take your second attack as our AOO for when they fly up but it also misses. Unfortunately on your second turn they are up in the air 20 feet above clinging to the ceiling. The up in the air part goes for everyone actually.
Round 2:
22-Varn fire a magically conjured arrow at a darkmantle missing it.
17-Selka:
14-Raven:
11-Tessai:
??-Orlando:
??-Aeron:
10-Creatures:
Selka Thunivhen
10-Creatures fly up if capable, provoking attacks. Tessai, Selka and Raven get attacks.
Just for a case like this, I left an AoO roll two posts ago. I'll post it again so you don't have to dig it up from the thread DireMerc. ^_^
Miss Chance (High=Hit): 1d100 ⇒ 76
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 1 = 23
Longspear Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
With the darkmantles now out of her reach and nestled against the roof of the cave, Selka readies herself to strike at them as soon as they drop down to attack again.
Selka readies an action to attack the first enemy that comes back inside her reach.
Miss Chance (High=Hit): 1d100 ⇒ 80
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 1 = 22
Longspear Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
As before, I'll leave a roll for a possible AoO in the event one enemy triggers it.
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 5 + 1 = 26
Longspear Attack Critical Confirmation: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 5 + 1 = 22
Longspear Critical Damage: 3d8 + 18 ⇒ (6, 8, 1) + 18 = 33
Ah! I'd love to see a darkmantle skewered for 33 damage! xD
Orlando Nedraid
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
Round 2_____
Acrobatically rolls into a flank with #1
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19
Then flank attacks #1
Rapier flank attack: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 18 for a possible 1d6 + 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 2 + (1) = 5 points piercing damage.
DireMerc
Round 1:
23-Orlando fire his crossbow and misses then drops his crossbow and draws his sword.

17-Selka readies to attack wounded one. Kills number 3 after Raven attacks
15-Aeron attacks and misses number 1
14-Raven attack number 3 for 10 damage
11-Tessai breaks free of grapple.
10-Creatures fly up number 3 and 1 die and number 2 makes it up. You also notice a fourth creature number 4 that didn't drop yet.
Round 2:
23-Orlando:
22-Varn fire a magically conjured arrow at a darkmantle missing it.
17-Selka:
15-Aeron:
14-Raven:
11-Tessai: Uses her sling to fling a rock at number 2 dealing it 8 damage.
10-Creatures:
Orlando Nedraid
Round 2 Revised_____
Orlando swears again at the escape of the creatures before he could attack them.
He sheathes his sword, picks up his crossbow and reloads it.
Raven Leafwalker
Raven's Round 1 AoO
Raven Morningstar, Blessed: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 5 + 1 = 12
Seeing the darkmantles fly back up to their perches, surprises Raven. She swings at them as they fly by, but her moment's hesitation costs her any success.
Raven's Round 2 Action - Initiative 14
Seeing the others go for their ranged weapons, Raven smiles knowing this is her bailiwick. She tucks away her morningstar and brings out her longbow firing a shot at any remaining unwounded (or least wounded) darkmantle. The close shot against a non-moving target is almost too easy and see takes a moment to find the exact right spot to hit.
Raven Longbow, blessed, point blank, deadly aim: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 1 + 1 - 1 = 23
Arrow Damage, point blank, deadly aim: 1d8 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 1 + 2 = 10
Aeron Stillwater
Aeron growls in frustration as both his attacks miss the darkmantles as Orlando calls them. He glances up and spots another creature that has yet to join the fray. He releases the handle of his hammer with his right hand and slowly lets the head down to the cavern floor as he reaches for one of his chakram hanging from his belt. The large man takes a moment to gauge his throw and then tosses the sharpened metal disc at the closest darkmantle.
Move action to draw chakram from my belt, Standard to attack. I'm guessing #3 is the closest darkmantle to Aeron? If not then assume he attacks #4. I also realized I forgot to add the +1 from Bless to my last two attacks, dang it. I won't forget this time! *EDIT* Hot dog! Crit threat! Hot darn! Total damage of 15 for that attack.
Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25
Crit confirm...: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
Crit Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
DireMerc
Round 1:
23-Orlando fire his crossbow and misses then drops his crossbow and draws his sword.
22-Varn fire a magically conjured arrow at number 1 badly injuring it.
17-Selka readies to attack wounded one. Kills number 3 after Raven attacks
15-Aeron attacks and misses number 1
14-Raven attack number 3 for 10 damage
11-Tessai breaks free of grapple.
10-Creatures fly up number 3 and 1 die and number 2 makes it up. You also notice a fourth creature number 4 that didn't drop yet.
Round 2:
23-Orlando: Picks up crossbow reloads it.
22-Varn fire a magically conjured arrow at a darkmantle missing it.
17-Selka: readies to attack dropping darkmantle.
15-Aeron: Trows chakram badly injuring number 2.
14-Raven: Shoots an arrow finishing off number 2.
11-Tessai: Uses her sling to fling a rock at number 4 dealing it 8 damage.
10-Creatures: Number 4 drops down and Selka skewers it. You hear a scream from somewhere deeper in the cavern "My pets! You gonna pay for that you darn crusaders!" Aeron feels a stinging sensation as two bolts of magical energy slam into him dealing 10 damage!
2d4 + 2 ⇒ (4, 4) + 2 = 10
Because of the darkness you cannot see him but you can know the direction the shout came from. Tessai who has darkvision sees a dwarf appear out of nowhere at the end of the cavern as he launches his bolts of energy. Even with her perfect vision the dwarf is blurry and she cant get a good read on him.
All the darkmantles are dead but a new opponent appears! Resume same init and post round 3 actions.
Roll a 20% miss chance if you attack the dwarf.
Aeron Stillwater
Ok, thanks for the clarification. Just wanted to double check.
Aeron lets out a pained cry when the magical assault slams into him, knocking the air from his lungs; he stares at the two smoking burns on his chest in surprise. He takes a moment to regain his breath before removing the potion from his bandolier. He pulls the stopper out with his teeth and gulps down the glowing liquid. He lets out a sigh of relief as the magics heal his smoldering wounds.
Potion of Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Orlando Nedraid
Round 3_____
Orlando waives his hand, and his Dancing Lights move to bracket the dwarf, which dim as they enter the darkness. He then fires at the new target.
Crossbow attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6 for a possible 1d8 ⇒ 4 points piercing damage. Miss chance?: 1d100 ⇒ 87
Varn Sophas
Varn move straight forward and one square down to be directly over the dwarf and raises his hands slowly a pale but somehow thick glow rising from his hands before throwing itself at the dwarf's feet.
Grease dc 15 reflex save or fall prone. Centered on the bottom right corner of the dwarf's square.
Varn Sophas
he was added to the map here
Tessai
Thanks Varn, my bad I did not notice it.
Seeing the new foe, Tessai immediately charges what she perceives to be a caster, and therefore the greatest threat - "Stay your hand! We are merely defending ourselves" - she urges - "And if you press your attack, we shall continue our defense!"
Tessai charges the dwarf -> I am sure that blurring effect will mean something, but since Spellcraft is really not Tessai's specialty...
Warhammer Charge Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 2 = 15Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Tessai Status-> HP:11/22 AC:18
Raven Leafwalker
Since she already has her bow out, and the dwarf wizard is being quite aggressive, Raven turns her aim on him. Inhaling deeply, she does as drilled into her head so many times before, even though this time the target can shoot back...
Before Tessai can reach him for melee, the arrow streaks from the ranger's hand as with a will of its own, seeking the mid-line of the dwarf. Raven then moves 20 ft to the west, trying to keep a good line of sight on the target if her allies close with him.
Raven Longbow, blessed, point blank: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 1 + 1 = 18
Miss Chance, high is good: 1d100 ⇒ 76
Damage, point blank: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Selka Thunivhen
"Who are you? Show yourself!" - Selka shouts, all the while trying to pinpoint where the voice came from - "We have no quarrel with you, surrender and we will grant you mercy!"
She quickly tries to move toward it, ready to strike down this new threat.
Miss Chance for Darkness (High=Good): 1d100 ⇒ 40
Miss Chance for Blur (High=Good): 1d100 ⇒ 32
Longspear Attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 5 + 1 = 21
Longspear Damage: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
I'm not 100% sure Selka could do that. My reasoning was: Selka hears the voice, she doesn't see the enemy but knows where it came from, so she uses a move action to get close enough to strike (10 ft.). When she is in position, she can finally see the enemy and can attack him.
If I made a mistake, sorry about that and just assume Selka simply moves closer to the voice (10 ft. from it if she can), to be able to attack next round.
DireMerc
Round 3:
23-Orlando: moves up to see dwarf and fires arrow and misses.
22-Varn: Moves next to dwarf and cast grease but the dwarf doesn't fall.
17-Selka: Moves up to the dwarf. (Unable to reach him and attack on the same turn)
15-Aeron: drinks potion to heal.
14-Raven: Raven moves up a bit and fires and arrow into the dwarf shoulder dealing him 3.
11-Tessai: Tessai moves up and swings at the dwarf but misses.
10-Dwarf: The wounded dwarf will take a 5 step back and cast color spray hitting Selka, Tessai and Varn.
Dwarf acrobatics to move 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19
Will save dc 14 for those affected.
Pink area is grease.
Varn Sophas
Dwarf shouldn't be able to 5 foot on the difficult terrain from grease.
will: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
The lights, the colors so b...
Varn falls backwards to the ground drooling while his eyes glow in the patterns released by the dwarf's hands.
Aeron Stillwater
Aeron sees the general direction the others are moving towards to attack, so he follows suit. He moves through the darkness until he sees Tessai's tail darting in the dim light. He draws another chakram as he comes to stand next to the tiefling, finally exiting the magical darkness. He spots their enemy, the dwarven spellcaster and prepares to throw his bladed weapon.
Double move to end south of Tessai (assuming the top of the map is north. He has a chakram in hand, ready to throw during his next turn.
DireMerc
I was under the impression he could move normally if he made the acrobatics check in this case I will modify his action to compensate.
He will cast color spray defensively (just barely making the check)
cast defensive: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
and then move back 20 feet going deeper into the tunnel provoking attacks from Tessai and Selka if they make the will save.
As a note the dwarf currently has a light crossbow loaded and drawn as a weapon tough he hasn't fire it yet and seems to be relying on his magic instead for the moment.
Selka Thunivhen
Will vs Color Spray (DC 14): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9
When the dwarf unleashes his magic Selka tries to cover her eyes, but she's not fast enough. With a strangled whimper she flops down to the ground, unconscious.
And Selka is out for the rest of the fight too... We have faith in you guys, avenge us! Aveeeeeenge uuuuus! xD
Tessai
Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Tessai is able to shake off the magical effect conjured by the dwarf, and seizes the opportunity to strike as he tries to retreat.
AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Miss Chance, high is good?: 1d100 ⇒ 57
After the caster has attempted to gain an advantageous positioning, Tessai presses forward - "You will regret your actions" - she threatens, as she charges and swings at the blurry image again.
Warhammer attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 6 + 2 = 14Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Miss Chance, high is good?: 1d100 ⇒ 7
Tessai Status-> HP:11/22 AC:18
This is not going well...
DireMerc
Oh also anyone crossing the grease is going to have to make a reflex to not fall prone. Also the square directly south-west of the dwarf is a tigh spot that you need to squeeze to cross. Assuming Tessai doesn't slip on the grease you can make it to the dwarf and swing but you take penalties if you stay in that tight spot. Tessai has enough movement to make it past the tight passage and still attack so you don't need to take the penalties and he cant take and attack of opt with a crossbow.
Check the map
Assuming you make it up and attack: The dwarf is protected from your attacks thanks to his protective spells. Both attacks miss.
Round 3:
23-Orlando:
22-Varn: incapacitated by color spray
17-Selka: incapacitated by color spray
15-Aeron:
14-Raven:
11-Tessai: Tessai moves up and swings at the dwarf but misses.
10-Dwarf:
Orlando Nedraid
Round 3_____
"Faugh!"
Orlando drops the empty crossbow with disgust, thinking the Dwarf's spells made it useless for this fight. He assumes a Defensive stance and draws his rapier instead.
Then he pursues the dwarf across the cavern and through the narrow passage, leaping over the Greased area. He hopes to make melee contact this round.
Reflex save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
Raven Leafwalker
Carefully maneuvering, Raven tries to skirt the grease stain to the north, ending her movement just on the west side of the narrow opening. Still with bow in hand, she fires at the dwarf, even though he is in a melee with her allies.
Just in case skirting it doesn't work, I rolled a Reflex below
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24
Raven Longbow, Blessed, Point Blank, Into Melee: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 22
Bow damage, Point Blank: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Looks like I winged him again...maybe enough to break concentration and keep him from casting?
DireMerc
In order for your damage to prevent him from casting you need to ready the action to fire when he starts to cast a spell, simply shooting him on your turn has no effect on any casting done during his turn
Updated map
Round 3:
23-Orlando: Moves up the dwarf
22-Varn: incapacitated by color spray
17-Selka: incapacitated by color spray
15-Aeron:
14-Raven: Moves and fires the arrow hitting the dwarf for 3 damage.
11-Tessai: Tessai moves up and swings at the dwarf but misses.
10-Dwarf:
Raven Leafwalker
Don't mean to post out of ordr, but just in case I am unavailable when Round 3 ends, here is my Round 4 action. Feel free to retcon if circumstances dictate.
Round 4
Raven fires again from the far side of the narrow stricture, choosing to stay here until he is retired. She moves aside if Aeron tries to go through, but sends another arrow speeding at the dwarf, who is engaged with her allies.
Raven Longbow, Blessed, Point Blank: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (16) + 6 + 1 + 1 - 4 = 20
Arrow Damage, Point Blank: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Aeron Stillwater
Going to follow in Raven's footsteps. Double move action to skirt around the Greased area... and if my total calculations match up, I should have enough movement to end my actions to the left of Orlando. Reference that... is that square still considered to be "squeezed"? If my assumptions/actions are incorrect, Merc, just let me know and we can change it up as necessary. Also throwing a Ref save just in case...
Reflex: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (17) + 2 = 19
Aeron's frustration at his inability to reach his enemy grows, especially when his new companions follow the demented dwarf further into the caves. He moves deftly around the slippery area and looks dubiously at the small area in which two of his companions have already slipped through. He cannot leave them to fight alone!
The large warrior calms his anxieties and takes one last deep breath before blasting out all the air in his lungs as he begins to inch his way through the small area. He got stuck for a just a moment and his mind reeled in fear; however, with one last nudge he bursts through to the other side. He casts a dark glare at the dwarf. "Run little man, Aeron is going to crush you!"
DireMerc
The square left of Orlando is squeezed yes and so is the square left of the dwarf..
"If yeh want me come and get me but your not taking me alive crusader!"
The takes a step back and fires his crossbow at Erik who cant dodge very well in his tight spot. The bolts hits him in the shoulder dealing 5 damage. He then drops his crossbow and take out a dagger.
fire arrow: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
damage: 1d8 ⇒ 5
Round 3:
23-Orlando: Moves up the dwarf
22-Varn: incapacitated by color spray
17-Selka: incapacitated by color spray
15-Aeron: Moves up to the dwarf
14-Raven: Moves and fires the arrow hitting the dwarf for 3 damage.
11-Tessai: Tessai moves up and swings at the dwarf but misses.
10-Dwarf: 5 step back and shoots Aeron
Round 4 now officially begins so starts making your round 4 posts.
Round 4:
23-Orlando:
22-Varn: incapacitated by color spray
17-Selka: incapacitated by color spray
15-Aeron:
14-Raven: Fires the arrow hitting the dwarf for 8 damage.
11-Tessai:
10-Dwarf:
Tessai
DireMerc, two questions: the map hasn't been updated with the dwarf's new position, correct? And is he still blurred?
Tessai shifts her position, and swings again at the dwarf - "You are foolish to forfeit the chance at surrendering" - she threatens.
Will move 5' north I believe.
Warhammer Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25Damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Miss Chance, high is good: 1d100 ⇒ 85
Orlando Nedraid
Sorry, I see no map link in the game description. Just the one in your third to last post.
"Come come young dwarf!" He said merrily. "We should all be friends against the incursion of demons! Here I give you my name; it is Orlando diNedraid, at your service. What is yours?"
Orlando will acrobatically tumble to flank the dwarf with Tessai.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Rapier flank attack: 1d20 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 3 + 2 = 17 for a possible 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 piercing damage.
