Houserules:

Houserules:

Casting: When casting a spell defensivly if you fail you do not automaticly lose the spell, rather you provoke an attack as you normally would for not casting defensive. If you are hit you must make a concentration check dc 10+damage taken if you fail this check you lose the spell.

Rolls:
Many rolls will be handled by the GM in secret.(don't worry, I don't fudge.)
Any result that can influence the character behavior will not be rolled open.
Rolls that will be handled by the GM:
Perception
Sense Motive.

if you make the check I will send you a pm or make a post and put it in a spoiler depending on the situation.

Sometimes I will roll Initiative others I will ask you to roll depending on the situation. In some situation (rarely) I will bypass init entirely and have you all go first and enemies second or have enemies go first and you all go after.

Combat rules:
I'm a fair GM, I dont roll combat in secret, I don't change results, I don't ignore bad calls from the characters.
Sometimes, character dies, but I'm not a player killer, if I think that an encounter will be easy handled, when it should be more challenging, I will make it a more challenging, if the party it's not prepared to face something, I will drop hints, if they insist... well killing one or two players never made me lack sleep...

Actions:
I'm a GM that do not punish the character for trying something new or cool, or even strange. Visual appealing actions are encouraged, the dc will of course depend on what are you trying, but you can try! If what you want to do is wicked cool, I can even bend the game mechanics to allow it! The most importat part is: You are villains. Villains are smart, resourceful and have style! Have you ever seen a memorable villain that could just swing his sword and do nothing more?

Posting Rate
If it could be done, I expect 1/day posting, if you can post more, it will really good.
During weekend, this rule does not apply. If you are able to post, great! But dont stress over this, everyone need some time to rest (In my case, I need time to play and DM :D on my tabletop games).

Level up
Aside from character creation, when you level up, if you want something not from core rulebook, you'll need to search it inside the game. basicly what you need to do is just show in game your character is searching for that knowledge. This rule is not meant to prohibit anything, I just don't like something like this: "Character always as a full caster, never picked up a sword in his entire life, and then he gain a new level and says: Master, I'll level up as a fighter now..."

We found that in the place with the huge pile of mongrelmen bones (even if we didn't know those were mongrelmen bones at the time).

The way I see it, it's probable it was some mongrelman's, either a member of the traitor tribe, or an explorer of this town we're in. It's very peculiar, and probably means something, and showing it to a mongrelman (Lann?) could give us valuable information...

Problem is, this is all from metagaming and I don't honestly know if Selka would remember the brooch, since it was pretty insignificant in her eyes at the time.

Now that everyone is trying to decide what to keep and what to sell, Selka would probably notice the brooch again, remember the pile of bones and make the connection... Are we able to sell the items we don't want/need to mongrelmen for gold at a reasonable price? Or do we need to hold until we get to the service?

I agree that Raven has as indicated. Unless you want to draw lots on the potions etc, she won't claim any. If you want to assign her some, or have her carry for encumberance purposes, that's fine.


there is a trader in town but he is has limited wares and gold, he's also restricted on what will buy. He has little need for jewelry or scrolls for example. you'll need to talk to him to know more.

as for the brooch since you remembered out of game its fine that you remember in game as well varn already posted to this effect and im fine with it

It is almost shameful to speak about this when Tessai already has the Masterwork Hammer.

What are we going to do with the blue shining morningstar? Any of the "frontliners" plan to revert to weapon+shield? If so, it makes sense that other take the morningstar, since I already got the warhammer. If not, I would take the morningstar, and pass the hammer as a secondary weapon for one of the 2h-weapon wielders.

What say you?

I'd be fine with Tessai getting the Morning star. Aeron is all about two handed weapons, since that is the archetype I chose for him.

Raven was Leather before getting the chain shirt.

Raven's primary weapon is a morningstar now, by coincidence, but I think Tess will have better claim to the enchanted one. If no one else wants the cast off MW warhammer, Raven can use it just in case things get close later, it'll be a bit of an upgrade. Only if no one else will/can use.

Anyone have concerns about Raven claiming the composite bow and the magic arrows? Hate to take all if anyone else needs or can use.


Tessai is fine with you taking the bow and arrows.

Re-posting this in every game I'm in, since server rollback destroyed my last post:

Due to family issues, health concerns (just a touch of the flu, but still), and a terrible crisis at work all of my time is taken, and I won't be able to consistently be present here on the boards and play.

I'll try my best to write something whenever possible, but at the very least till the 28, when a work deadline I can't possible afford to miss is set, my presence here will be sporadic at best.

I'm deeply sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and I give every GM permission to bot my characters any way the see fit, if the need arises.

Okay, the new (and improved) Varn is ready to go! Merc, if you want to look over him to make sure everything is acceptable.

Hopefully I have better luck with him than I did with Aeron. Also, I think you guys will appreciate my Void abilities.... 8 times per day I can impose a hefty penalty on an enemy for one round (no save... BOOM!). Penalty equal to 1/2 my level to both AC and saving throws... Oh yeah.

Also, at 8th level I get a nice ability that mimics bard's Inspire Courage, but it's insight so it stacks with IC. I like Void...

Just wanted to point out that Aeron 2.0 has the step up feat, so if the glaive wielder takes a 5 foot step, Aeron gets to follow.

Hey Merc, I just stumbled upon the Spellbinder archetype for elven wizards... I was curious if you'd allow Varn to pick up that archetype sometime?

I was thinking perhaps he comes upon the knowledge of the spellbinding sometime along his travels rather than simply picking up the archetype during a level up. If you'd rather not, that is not a problem.


Aravashnial can teach you this technique. You can gain it at 4th level and bond 2 spells.

He is also going to try and guide you towards a prestige class for wizards designed for this campaign.
