Spenser Quixote |
Approximately translated from Spenser's Super-Taldane, it's "don't go into that good night!"
dart, melee penalty: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
damage: 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
dart retrievable if I missed? 20-70 says yes: 1d100 ⇒ 34
"Loathful scrimegeour! Descend and face us like menschen!"
Keera Airbornt |
What had happened? Where's my Auroch? asks Keera not sure of why she's lying in the ground. Then, seeing thre's still some fight stands up, uses her springloaded wristsheet to retrieve her wand of cure light wounds and taps herself.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
By the way, thanks for the translation. Spenser use of old english taldane gives him deep, but sometimes is hard to understand him
GM Chyro |
The slave house, round 11
Keera gets up and heals herself.
Spenser moves and throws a dart, which misses, and flies into the grass outside.
---------
Dark angel (-40) steps 5ft backwards, and blinks away, staying out of sight.

Sele & Vassago, Kel
Wizard of the Coast |
Kel puts his back to a wall and waits for the dark angel's reappearance.
Spenser Quixote |
By the way, thanks for the translation. Spenser use of old
englishtaldane gives him deep, but sometimes is hard to understand him
Spenser speaks a silly improvised salmagundi; if he spoke "Old English," you wouldn't have a prayer of understanding him - that's what Beowulf was originally written in!
Sele the Thorn |
Sele will fly to the roof but stay on this side of it, going where he can't be seen from the other side
GM Chyro |
With Kel wary of the dark angel's whereabouts, Sele heads for the roof.

Vassago posted he'd be absent from today until the 5th of November.
He uses kinetic heal on himself.

GM Chyro |
I take that as a readied attack, as the dark angel is out of sight.
When the dark angel pops into sight from besides a window, Spenser throws a dart at him. It hits, sure enough, but it deals reduced damage.
But more dmg nonetheless.
----------
The dark angel unleashes a rapid volley of fiery arrows.
I forgot about it getting +1 from PBS >_>
"You mortals are too persistant, getting back up again and again?"
Vs Keera, PBS: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (6) + 16 - 2 = 201d8 + 6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (1) + 6 + 1 + (6) = 14
Vs Keera, PBS: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 11 - 2 = 221d8 + 6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 1 + (1) = 11
Vs Vassago, PBS: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (14) + 16 - 2 = 281d8 + 6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 1 + (6) = 17
Keera is again knocked KO, and the last Arrow hits Vassago.
Keera, a con roll please.

Sele & Kel
Vassago
Wizard of the Coast |
Kel uses his own magic missile instead of the wand.

Sele the Thorn |
Sele hearing his announcement flies down beside him.
Greatsword+ps+se: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (19) + 12 = 312d6 + 18 ⇒ (6, 2) + 18 = 26
Greatsword+ps+se confirmation : 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 152d6 + 18 ⇒ (2, 4) + 18 = 24
GM Chyro |
Sele puts a smack on the dark angel, who reels back from the impact.
Did you plan that number..for some reason? To have his hurt end up 69?
Vassago gathers some power and aims his blast at the dark angel.
PBS: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 143d6 + 8 ⇒ (1, 4, 4) + 8 = 17
But his blast hits the wall instead.

I planned for it to be 93.. but my confirmation roll was bad.. ;o)
Spenser Quixote |
Spenser takes cover on the other side of the wall as he withdraws a flask of holy water....
Keera Airbornt |
Keera feels a sense of deja vu when she falls, again, to the ground unconscious.
stabilization: 1d20 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (9) + 1 - 2 = 8
Let me bleed a few rounds if it's necesary to kill the dark angel. It's much better than being healed to receive one last arrow that can kill me
GM Chyro |
The dark angel steps back from Sele.
"I will laugh and dance on your grave, when the time comes."
He teleports away.
======================
Combat over!!
Sele the Thorn |
Sele Flies to Keera and uses lay on hands
"Milani's grace upon thee.."
loh: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 5, 1) = 7
GM Chyro |
Keera stabilizes after Sele's healing, but she doesn't wake up yet, due to Vassago's earlier kinetic healing.
Nl from burn doesn't heal by anything other than an 8 hour sleep.
Sele the Thorn |
Bah Sele has his own wand to use
Sele takes out his wand of clw and uses it on Keera
clw: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Wizard of the Coast |
Kel stands over Keera and pulls out a wand, touching her and applying healing of the infernal sort... fast healing 1 for 10 rounds
Spenser Quixote |
I'm not sure we know what should happen now. We went to see somebody about the wedding-crashers, but he turned out to be a devil and flew away before we could properly defeat him. What am I forgetting?
GM Chyro |
Well, did i say he was THE master? :)
You could have been led to a master.
You've got papers in your possession now, right?
Edit:
And an elderly couple who are very meek and mentally broken.
GM Chyro |
(Tosses flare into the dark pit, before peering down)
GM Chyro |
Ok.
(Presses auto-pilot)
Talking to the elderly couple yields little result. From what you make out from silence at questions, and eyes averting yours, this was not the Ibn-Chadli.
They would probably like to say more, but with the dark angel still alive, they are too scared to reveal anything, even refusing to go with you.
Thus, it leaves you with the letters and to seek the aid of the authorities.
---------After arriving at a small crossroad square-------
A company of three dozen heavily-armored horsemen and a handful of robed and veiled sorcerers approach, their splendid equipment gleaming
mirror-bright.
From their midst, a massively built man rides forward, his face obscured
by a golden helm. "Pathfnders!" he shouts. "You are hereby arrested and ordered to appear before the Court of His Exalted Eminence,
Xerbystes II, Defender of the Zho and Satrap of Glorious Katheer, praise
be upon him. Lay down your arms and come with us to hear your accusers, lest you arouse the terrible displeasure of His Eminence!"
Sele the Thorn |
Sele draws his sword and lays it on the ground
"I surrender"
Spenser Quixote |
"Ego wouldst beseech that the maledicta laid athwart us be laid plainly ere I acquiesce, lest yon company and I be marched to an iniquitous fate. Ken that ye stand afore ein Marquis of Taldor. Though our fine realms be long-locked in bitter strife, there art be no veril need for such - but unjust and inhospitable conduct on part of ye gendarmerie 'gainst a flower of Taldan knighthood and his faithful companions may raise unworthy specters. Contrariwise, if thou comport thyselves as gentlefolk and accord us what is rightful, then by my honor - nay, by THE STORIES! - thou hast mein veritative and full-waxing cooperation. Truth shall therewise deliver us, for we art righteous folk."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 24
Wizard of the Coast |
Kel shrugs at the sight of three DOZEN armed men with their attendant casters and gives up, obediently laying down on the ground gently his bow and dagger.
Sele the Thorn |
"My friends words doth wax true, we are righteous folk and have done no wrong."
Aid Diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (12) + 11 = 23
GM Chyro |
At Spenser's display of strange dialect, his voice is quick and heavy, almost like an immaterial weight coming upon him.
"Save it...for the court."
Giving his horse direction to turn around, his words are brief.
"Good, now come with us."
You are relieved of your weapons and any obviously magical items that you are carrying.
You are led to the most opulent prison you've ever seen the interior of.
The chambers are elegantly appointed, yet they have solid iron doors, that are locked from the outside.
The men are split into two groups, and Keera has a 'room' to herself.
A warning is given, too.
"Should any of you try your hand at spells, a lethal trap will make certain you won't try again."
If you have any actions before encountering the captain and his forces, feel free.
"Tomorrow you will stand trial. Think carefully on your words.
Rest well.".....you are left in your rooms afterwards.
I'll hold until everyone is ready to go.
Spenser Quixote |
I'm ready.
Sele the Thorn |
I was born ready.. *spits out gum*
Sele the Thorn |
Spits out gum... I'm here to kick ass and chew gum and i'm all outta gum... or the more funny version..... I'm here to Kiss ass and... Doh!
Keera Airbornt |
I just want to have healed myself before going anyplace
clw taps: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (3, 2, 5) + 3 = 13 So I'll end with 32/38 hp (5 non lethal.
As they wait the trial, Keera searchs for that lethal trap. If it's real, but not so lethal, will have an opportunity
Perception: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (9) + 13 = 22
GM Chyro |
Keera doesn't find anything, despite her thorough observation.
Vassago Ilsidore |
Back!
After seeing Sele and Spenser's eloquent words fail to move them, he decides to hold his tongue. Tomorrow they will get their turn to speak and work out these details proper.
GM Chyro |
I reckon the next part won't be vital for Kel, so we'll proceed.
==The day of trial===
The following morning, you are brought before the Satrap’s court.
The Satrap’s court stands within a grand hall, one of the most opulent structures in the Inner Sea. Dozens of courtiers and soldiers line the magnificent hall, the Peerless advisors of the Satrap.
In a small alcove off to one side, an executioner sharpens a massive axe, his face covered by a frowning golden mask.
A herald’s voice booms forth, "Pathfinders! You stand accused of murder, theft, and the looting of graves! Come forward and answer for these crimes!"
A woman sits on a folding chair beside the herald, her features veiled.
-----------
[Insert formal talk]
-----------
Herald: "You stand accused of plotting the theft of ancient relics, and of the planned murder of Master Bashir al-Mudaris so that your masters among the Pathfinder Society might claim the resources of the House of Silver. What do you say to these accusations?"
Everyone can have their say.
Bluff & Diplomacy can be used, but they better be hot rolls.
I doubt yóu'll easily fail this, frankly, as social rolls have been well for you in the past.
Spenser Quixote |
OOC, please remind us in summary what we actually did so far, so I have some idea of what to say.
GM Chyro |
Your activities thus far:
- Attend the wedding reception, and faught against the lions.
! Artifacts were stolen.
- You went into the dervishes building.
- You 'visited' (broke into) Ibn-Chali's private house.
Sele the Thorn |
"Do you have lie detection magic available? If so use it?["
Sele details the love letters, the pathfinders journal, the papers indicating the dervishes encountered at the wedding where in his pay, the abducting chelish slaves to sell etc.
"These are all the evidence I have against ibn-chadli and as for the charges I deny them all, we were trying to stop the robbers from taking the artifacts. Master Bashir Al-Mudaris, planned to donate several valuable relics to the Pathfinder Society during the wedding to promote his sons status in the society"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
Spenser Quixote |
"Alself me to introduce mylow: Ich soy Sir Spenser Quixote, Marquis de Exupery, and 'tis my ageless quest to save the Stories, nyet to burgle them! Mein boon steed and I sacrificed our very vitae in bulwark of the artifacts thou alluds't to, and were it but for great magick, Ine woulds't yet be consigned to what dreams may come!"
Making my own Diplomacy roll rather than assisting...
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
Hmm! Anyone think they can aid that?
Vassago Ilsidore |
Vassago smiles as he follows up on Spenser's words. "What my companion is trying to say is that he and two of our trusted animal allies were slain trying to stave off an animal assault caused by the brigands who made off with the goods. And as Sele has truthfully noted, we found evidence of the real perpetrator while trying to recover the artifacts proper."
Diplomacy aid to Spenser: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (8) + 11 = 19
Wizard of the Coast |
"My friends speak but the truth. We were attempting to recover the stolen artifacts, and simply followed the trail to its logical conclusion."
diplo aid: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
GM Chyro |
The woman is carefully listening to your words, carefully reading past Spenser's unusual words.
I see Spanish..i see German...i see old spelling of English? :P
If anybody would have tried bluffing, she'd have a 9 out of 10 chance, to see through it.
From the audience, there's unsatisfied voices.
"Of course that's what you'd say, thieves!!"
(murmur)
"You unleashed and slew your own lions, so your friends could make off!"
While the voices protest your true but easy answers, the woman takes out a bundle of letters.
The herald calls for silence...and the woman speaks.
"We would know your names, who are you?"
Wizard of the Coast |
"I am Celidrian, son of Carizel Duskwalker, known to my friends as 'Kel,' and I state again, these charges are false and the so-called 'evidence' brought against us is being misinterpreted."
