"I, however.....cannot testify in court, of my association with Marek.
The shame it would bring upon the family..."

![]() |

We have the letter currently, right? Anything else?

GM Chyro |

Due to the family's honor, he is hesitant to testify. Present him a good reason, a way for him of phrasing the subject, that might lessen the public impact, and you'd have his testimony. Diplomacy check with that, naturally.

We took some rings and things off of the bandits - any insignia?
We know what Marek's mark looks like.

Truth is a marvelous thing. So we have to use it sparringly, and choose who deserves it. Maybe you could say that you had your suspicions about the blacksmith's link with a band of bandits, but you had no tangible proof, and you didn't want to accuse him publicly without evidence? So, without telling anyone, not even your own dearest mother, you took upon yourself to seek the truth, even if that would challenge your safety, pulling the wool on the blacksmith eyes in your quest to find evidence. And truth to be told, the man was indeed in league with a group of bandits, who were waiting to ambush you on his own orders.

Suussmaar nods after Lukaas speaks. "I completely agree! You have to testify for your community!"

Can the others please aid as well. We might need every bonus.

No insignia on the found trinkets. (silent hint)

Tbh, when i spoilered the loot from Wicent (whom come to think of it is probably still tied to a tree somewhere ^^) with the addition of checks for finer details, i was surprised nobody inspected them.
You indeed find Marek's mark of making on the pommel of a fine dagger taken from one of the brigands.
Lander agrees with your reasoning, "I suppose that could work, yes. Well then, i suppose it is time for my return."
Lander knocks the door to the house, and a manservant opens. His eye grow wide in surprise. "Young master. Oh the lady will be so relieved you have returned."
Everyone enters, and lady Lebeda invites you all to sit on the sofas with some tea and orange flavored scones.
"I am so very relieved for my son's safe return, thank you ever so much."
Lander: "Yes, well. These people freed me out of a tight situation, literally speaking. I owe them my freedom, as i was taken by brigands. They will be able to fill in the gaps of their journey."
Lander leaves the ball of reporting back in your corner....

"We tracked down the brigands, who were locally led by a werewolf named Aldona, but we," she gestures here to make certain Lander is included, "have uncovered evidence that Marek the blacksmith may be the true leader of these bandits."

![]() |

Suussmaar nods.
“If you look at this letter, inspect the armor and weapons that we have retrieved from the brigands as well as listen to the testimony of your own son then you will surely see that the blacksmith is definitely involved in criminal activities!“ he says.

GM Chyro |

@ Suussmaar, Marek only crafts weapons. And are you saying you stripped every brigand from their leather jerkin? :P
Lady Lebeda is handed the letter and the dagger with the craft mark, which Lander points out as Marek's. Accompanied with some other words, Lady Lebeda places them on the table and calls out for the manservant.
He: "My lady?"
Lady Lebeda: "Send a courier to assemble a patrol at once. I wish them to be present within the hour."
He: "My lady?... Of course, it shall be done."
Two hours later, a group of six men and women, whom Ella could recognize as guardsmen loyal to house Lebeda, enter the room.
Lady Lebeda: "I have a task of utmost importance for you. Head for the village nearby and arrest the blacksmith Marek. He is to be considered formidable and dangerous."
The guards nod and head out.
Lady Lebeda turns back to you.
"For the safe return of my son, i would like to present you the Horn of Aroden. I have some time to come up with a legitimate pardon for not having it anymore." She hands it over to Ella.
Lander, rubbing the back of his neck, walks off to a sealed trunk in another room, and comes back with two items.
"I will have more training to do in swordsplay, but i will probably benefit from closer to hoe education a lot more."
He hands you a ring, a set of fine looking leather boots, and an amulet which has the color of auburn bark.
Ring of swimming, boots of the winterland, and AoNa +2.
Some 6 hours later, there is a faint sound of metal chains outside.
As you look through the nearby window, you see Marek being dragged in chains by two of the guards towards a door with the emblem of a cage.
He shows no remorse whatsoever.
Lander: "And he's off to the family dungeons."
Primary objective: Return Lander safely to his mother. [V]
Secondary success condition: Present 3 pieces of evidence to Lady Lebeda, to get Marek arrested.
A job well done.

Suussmaar nods in approval and rubs his hands when he sees the horn and the presents!
“A safer community! A relic to aid against demons!“ he says and additionally thinks and more treasures for me!
Thanks a lot GM!! :-) Great RP!!!

GM Chyro |

You are welcome.
The + of being in the seat. The RP of NPCs :D
You should have seen my goblins prisoner NPCs in Season 3: Frostfur Captives. That mission's RP with he PCs was awesome.

Your smile returning on your lips because of your son coming back is worth all the treasures, for me, and it truly warmth my heart to see a family together. But alas, the Society asked us specifically for the Horn of Aroden, and we completed our task. Milady, if you are in trouble and you feel the Society could help, please asks for the services of Lukaas Penn. I will do my utmost to be useful

GM Chyro |

With the horn in your possession, you make your way back to your employer, who is very happy to have the artifact for the cause of the crusade against the world wound.
"Scholars will soon start their studies of the artifact. This will surely rally more crusaders and Rostvanians to our banner. You have my, and the society's, gratitude. Allow me to buy you a drink at the pub down the road."
In said pub, there are rumors of a she-werewolf prowling the region,(remember ominous roll? Aldona was at -1 HP). However you notice a group of very seasoned looking people who get up and head out.
You hear them speak among each other.
"Well, another monster to put down. Should be a worthy piece for the mantle back home."

Suussmaar bites his tounge.
"Oh well, we did our job. Somebody else can have fun with the werewolf! Or ... or do we want to end what we started?!?" he says and waits a second to let the question hand in the air before bursting into laughter.
"Ha .. ha ha ... just kidding! Guys, it has been fun! Hopefully, we see each other again at some point in time!"

![]() |

Ella only grins when she hears that Aldona's still wandering the woods. "Well, as long as I get to rest up before the rematch, I'm game if she tracks me down!"
