If Kravg can be healed with the wand, Toorin would like to preserve his potion supply. He will be to do his share to reimburse Joseph for healing from the wand.
Then Toorin will fetch a shovel from Laurel's shop and start to dig a hole into which to put the contagious flowers.

"I said they should make themselves scarce and take those awful flowers with them. No wait... I actually suggested we should burn those flowers. They didn't take kindly to my suggestions."

Aww, I've seen people geting red flowers from these two. You should ask them politely for the dangerous flowers, Sarenaen. They won't listen to me.
| GM Chyro |
Ala'Ihys, are you wearing gloves?
Ala'Ihys manages to stabilize the two, albeit only just for one.
By doing so, you've captured a total of 4 plague infected people.
Huzzah.... :)

he was in fact not wearing gloves but he was careful not to come in contact directly with skin or blood. What does 'albeit only just for one' mean?
Brallenera, really? or are you just messing with me?After helping the flower peddlers as best he can, then making a pile of the rags he used that needed to be burned he responds to Brallenera, "I didn't notice they had any customers but neither did I witness there original assault on Kravg. let me see what I can do." speaking in a loud clear voice Ala'Ihys begins
"Ladies and Gentlemen I am Ala’Ihys Amatullah al-Rashid, Servant of the Dawnflower, Venerator of Sunlord Thalachos, Rider of the Histaqen, knight of Relios. My fellow pathfinders and I are on a search for the terrible disease that has plagued your community. We believe the flowers that these individuals were distributing are part of the cause of the plague. Please return them to this burn pile so we may properly dispose of any possible threat to your community, thank you."
After the big announcement Ala'Ihys gathers the arrows he shot and asks "Should we take these unfortunates to the infirmary and then burn their wagon and anything else remaining?"
diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 looks like there all going to die of the plague.

"Before we burn the wagon let's see if anyone recognizes where it might have come from, who might have owned it. We need to find out where the supply is, if not from the field we just came from. We should then see if we can follow the tracks of the wagon and track it to its source. Likewise, let's see if anyone in town recognizes these ... [lip curls into a sneer] men."
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
To notice anything telling on the wagon or men.
Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
To coax information from the locals.

he was in fact not wearing gloves but he was careful not to come in contact directly with skin or blood. What does 'albeit only just for one' mean?
Well, since normally you'd check the pulse with two fingers at the artery in the neck. Just curious how you're checking ^^.
The 'albeit just for one', the accent was to be 'just in time for one', the other being an easy stabilize. The townsfolk present murmer at Ala'Ihys' bold public announcement of being pathfinders. Laurel however, reassures the cautious folk that you can be trusted. The people who were carrying the flowers, throw them on the wagon. Luckily they were not yet infected.
If you want to follow tracks, roll for survival please.
Toorin's asking around about the wagon yields, sadly, no result.
It is a general wagon used by rural communities to transport their wares from town to town.
Coaxing info from the townsfolk would be more of a diplomacy.

I am really going to take a different class for Toorin next level up, one where he can get a broader range of skills he can use with some confidence!
"We've probably learned as much as we can about the illness as we can here. We need to see if we can talk to the fey and get their side of the story. Maybe if we share what Laurel has learned about treating the disease, they will be mollified into calling a truce and help us figure out who is behind the flower peddlers."

DOH! Damn time to roll REALLY high for an AID roll :p
"People, listen to this noble paladin. He wants nothing more than to help and save you all from this plague that is ravashing the area and yourselves." he makes sure to help highly this problem for everyone to understand.
I think even Joseph's patron dislikes diseases. Depending on your interpretation, you could say she hates diseases as they kill off potential powerful mutations. Infact, I've toyed with the idea of a wizard who follows her due to a belief that mutation is the best way forward in evolution and attempts to use magic to create a perfect race.

seeing the towns people completely ignore him, Ala'Ihys unintentionally shudders as Joseph supports his announcement. Well at least he is trying to help... not sure how to respond, Ala'Ihys follows Kravg pretending to look for tracks as well.

Pfft, I try to help him and he still whines about it! jk :D pooh-pooh on you sir.
| GM Chyro |
Special plans for the wagon and plague captives? Burn and leave to die of hunger?
You could try to enter the forest for anything, or spend the rest of the day around town at your leisure.
Toorin, maybe a dip in investigator? Those are skill/knowledge monkeys.
As per mentioned, Laurel reassures the people you are trustworthy.
Unfortunately, they don't venture much outside town, let alone into the forest.

Diplo aid: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (8) - 1 = 7
Brallenera tried to help Ala"Ylis collecting informations, but she was more an hindrance than an help, as she was way too direct.
Awww, people here don't like me. They think I want to steal their jobs cause I got that big axe, you know, Sarenaen..
Grumpy (again!), she keeps her mouth shut and start looking for the trail of the wagon
Survival: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Maybe it will inspire them to put together some kind of organization or union that will stand up for workers rights!
Brallenera will be able to follow some tracks, but they lead to far outside Falcon's Hollow. It will be late in the evening if searched now.

Toorin suggests Laurel organize the patients with symptoms, including the recent arrivals. Perhaps there is an empty house or two that could quarantine the ill. If there is some kind of government with anyone to enforce laws or serve as guards, he suggests they keep a close eye on the flower peddlers and gardeners. He shares the intelligence of the discovery of the gardeners cultivating the infectious flowers and suggests they send a group of able bodied people to destroy the flowers, if possible with fire from a distance rather than trying to pull them from the ground.
He asks for information from Laurel or the townspeople about any conflicts they have had, if any, with the fey of the area. He wants to find out which way might be the way to seek out the leadership of the fey if there is such.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Tough town.
If no one else can suggest anything we can do here, Toorin suggests we stay the night, keeping watch for ne'er-do-wells, and then set out in the morning to find the fey, going deeper into the forest, away from where the logging is being done.
Ala’Ihys the Archer
|
that's a good idea, Toorin means well but sometimes people think he's uppity because he is and elf. Catching up to Toorin Aala'Ihys asks "Hey Toorin let me ask around, I may be able to find out what direction to go to find the fey. do you think we should do that before or after we find out where this wagon is from?" After Ala'Ihys is done speaking with Toorin he canvas' the town asking about which way might be the way to seek out the leadership of the fey if there is such, realizing he has a little day light left he continues asking around. Having no better luck that Toorin, Ala'Ihys head to bed.

Ala'Ihys is getting odd looks of confusion.
Random townsfolk: "Why'd you want to seek out the fey? They killed my husband."
Random townsfolk: "How would i know? I'm just a basket weaver."
Random townsfolk: "I don't take kindly to snoops."
Random townsfolk: "Ask Laurel, she goes into the woods from time to time. Maybe she's seen them, i dunno. Now if you don't mind, i've got my stew to get to."
I'm really enjoying your investigation guys, awesome :)
| GM Chyro |
The next morning:
Fort roll from Kravg & Toorin please.
Toorin
|
Fortitude: 1d20 ⇒ 4
Toorin was down 1 Con and 1 Cha, so his attributes would be up to normal, but will drop whatever the penalty is for failing this new save.
Toorin, weary of trying to help people who seem uninterested in help, talks to Laurel to see if she knows anything about the conflict the community has had with the fey.
"We are trying to place ourselves in a position where we might serve as negotiators between the humans and the fey, to bring peace back to the region. From what we've seen of the way the logging operations are run, I am convinced some of the blame lies with the way the humans are conducting their business. I've no doubt the fey are not happy with any cutting down of the forest, but perhaps there is a way for the humans to be more selective in their logging practices. I don't know what might appease them. This plague appears to be affecting both human and fey. From something the gardeners we captured said, I suspect they are responsible for spreading the disease to both communities, which means if we can find a cure and put a stop to the spread of the plague, both parties may be grateful enough to listen to our attempts at a diplomatic solution. If you know anything that might help us in this, please share it with us. The townspeople are perhaps justifiably suspicious of us outsiders and have told us little that is helpful."
| GM Chyro |
You were down 1 con and 2 cha, before the night.
Initial fail from the flowers caused the 1st cha dmg.
1d2 ⇒ 1 Con & 1d2 ⇒ 2 Cha dmg.
Laurel hesitates but sighs as she seemingly sees no better option.
"I, sometimes go visit the fey, to trade baubles for remedial herbs.
It lies deep within the forest.
Last time i spoke with them, they had no solution either."
Have you tried interrogating the peddlers yet?
| GM Chyro |
You heal 1 dmg of each every night you rest and don't take dmg when passing the save. Nothing suggested a night's rest doesn't heal any.
Where'd your score of 2 cha come from? I've been reading back and have you currently at -2 cha. Toorin at currently -1 con & -3 cha
Plus yes, Laurel keeps spending time for you guys in the evening.
She now takes 10 on heal for 19, giving you two the +4 to every morning's save.
Toorin
|
So if you fail the save you don't recover any lost points? In that case, Toorin's Con is now down 2 (to 8) and his Charisma down 3 (to 10). Looks like Toorin has at most 8 days before his Con drops to zero and as least 4. Time to get cracking.
| GM Chyro |
The prisoners, all 4 of them, snicker at Ala'Ihys' attempts.
"Bahaha....this town will die for its misdeeds. The fey are just collatoral, as far as we've heard. It doesn't matter, they hindered mistress Vondrella in her revenge, so they must suffer too!
Tonight will be the feast, at the basin, in celebration of this town's demise! Muahahaha!!"
Basin?? A clue...
Brallenera Thalkham
|
Aww, I don't know who this "Vondrella" is. You said it was her plan to get the whole town ill?
Suddenly, unexpectedly, Brallenera starts to laugh.
Really.
THere are tears in her eyes.
She says to the paladin, and the probably baffled prisoners
Awww, Sarenaen, you didn't got the joke? Vondrella plans to get the town ill..."The plot sickens"!!
She laughs again, slapping her thighs
| GM Chyro |
Careful, Ala'Ihys might resort to spanking disciplining you for that. :)
Ala’Ihys the Archer
|
Ala'Ihys rolls his eyes at Brallenera's joke well at least she has kept her sense of humor, probably helps that were not the sick ones, need to find a way to get these two to talk more about this Vondrella and the 'basin' looking at the flower cart deliverers, "You do not think that Mistress Vondrella will be upset with you since the flowers were not delivered, or that we are finding a cure for the 'virus'?"
| GM Chyro |
They laugh even more, their bonds scratching not bothering them at all.
"Bahahaha...there is no easy cure for this. You'll all die before even a remote cure, if even at all, is found."
As Laurel hasn't heard of the basin, she can't help you on your way.
Kravg Ironfeather
|
"Perhaps we should look up this Basin place in a book or so. Geography. Local legends. Stuff."
Kravg isn't that talkative anymore these days.
Ala’Ihys the Archer
|
Ala'Ihys pulls the pathfinders aside far away from the prisoners and asks quietly "If we can't get information from them, do we let them go and follow them to their leader, or even send them to their leader asking for a meeting? Either way we could find out more, it would give them what they want and it would be two less sick for this town to care for."
Brallenera Thalkham
|
Awww, if they have half a brain between them four, they can put us on a wild goose chase. I can ask them less politely if you don't mind, Sarenaen.
Know Nature: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
I'm wondering if this "basin" could be related to the fey. Your brain is bigger and smarter than mine, Pointy-Ears, what do you think?
Yes, that was a kind of compliment to an elf from a dwarf. Sort of.
Toorin
|
Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
Not sure if this can help, but just in case.
Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
This is to use Toorin's knowledge of nature to see if he can figure where this basin might be, such as at the top of an extinct volcano or the like. If all else fails, that might give us somewhere to look.
"Who among us is the best at deception?" Toorin asks, looking mostly at Joseph and ignoring Ala'Ihys, knowing the latter is generally not willing to lie.
"I agree that letting them go might give us a chance to follow them, provided, as Bralenera said, they don't suspect we are going to follow them. If we let them go, they are more likely to suspect than if they think they have escaped. Whoever can pull off deception best could go in to question them, holding a knife. He sets the knife down to do something like check that their bonds are secure and before he is done with this, one of us could call him out as if we have found some important news. He absent-mindedly leaves the knife where he set it down. A few moments later he steps back in to inform them that we've figured out where they are meeting tonight and will be leading an armed force there to attack them. We hide and when they use the knife to cut themselves free and escape, we follow."
| GM Chyro |
I like where this is going, but if you are going with the plan, you will all have to roll perception...for purpose.
Plus a survival or perception if you want to follow their tracks.
Note that while following, take 10 isn't an easy way out, especially in the darker time of day.
Lord Joseph Wraitheart
|
Joseph looks back at Toorin as he was looking at him when asking who was the best at deception with a raised eyebrow.
"Sounds like a impressive plan, but do we have anyone here who could actually convince them that we're not after them?"
Ala’Ihys the Archer
|
to lie, are we really going to stoop to such depths? Ala'Ihys looks aghast from Torrin to Kravg to Brallenera and eventually at Joseph. "A lie? Are we really stooping that low? The truth would be just as east. 'We have no desire to take care of you...leave.' In there condition they would die of exposure, logic would demand they return to their camp."
Brallenera Thalkham
|
Brallenera rises her hands in an apolegetic gesture
Awww, Sarenaen, it wasn't my idea. I don't think it's a good idea, honestly. There is too much risks.
Toorin
|
"These men appear to be fanatics, more willing to die for their cause than you are to lie for ours," Toorin says to Ala'Ihys, his exasperation clear in his voice. "If you want to set them free, then will you also be telling them that we intend to follow them to their leader? What I am proposing is nothing more than a feint. We make them think we are doing one thing so that they let down their guard a little and give us a better chance of following them to their base. You are willing to kill those who refuse to relent from their evil ways. Are you not willing to lie to defeat those who are equally unwilling to repent?"
