again with the bashing and the crashing, why do we not knock? seeing the mites and the wounded smiley-faced person, Ala'Ihys rolls his eyes, well she is right this time. following the fleet-of-foot Shonne Ala'Ihys draws his bow and fires an arrow at the furthest mite. purple
Move: 30 ft. Attack: Masterwork composite longbow(+2), deadly-aim, precise shot
attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13 for damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 + 2 = 10

GM Chyro |

Shonne cuts down a mite.
------------
Blue tries a doom on Shonne.
Purple and red throw darts, 1 gets lucky for a minor hit.
------------
Were it not for Shonne within his line of sight, the shot would have hit.
The mite laughs...or at least, makes noise what you can assume to be a laugh.

*Shonne talks like Fran from Final Fantasy XII.
As much s%*$ as that game got...much of it I do agree with I admit my fav characters were Fran and Balthiar. The pair giving me a Han Solo and Chewbacca vibe as they work well together.
Sadly the main two at the beginning end up becoming background characters with Balthiar, Fran and Ashe being far more interesting in both motivation and character. Several people had her equipped with a massive sword but I already had mellee characters so I had her focused on the bow, which was badass!
Joseph decides to step forward and begin telling a dark ode of a necromancer the group had recently brought to the fey and how her punishment was to become one with the wood.
Inspire Courage. Decided to get Goblin language. Now I wish I got Undercommon instead. Oh well.

GM Chyro |

Neat, now you understand goblin insults :D
Joseph starts an inspiring tale.
In the meantime, a hungry ant goes for some elf thigh.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16Dmg: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Sting: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18Dmg+poison: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Free grapple?: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12, Nope.
The ant ravages Shonne's leg. Fort DC 14 please, or you take 1d2 ⇒ 2 str dmg. This persists for another 3 rounds, 1 save = cured.

Axe, Inspire: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 6 + 1 = 22
dmg, Inspire: 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14
Brallenera walks casually to the ant, and casually delivers a mighty blow to the insect, looking bored and annoyed.
She looks at the new elf and sighs audibly

GM Chyro |

Brallenera deals a pretty good blow to the ant, which seems to make a ticking sound at impact.

The cave, round 2
Shonne nimbly jumps around and flanks the ant with Brallenera, ending it with a swift slash of her sword. Though the poison hurt her strength slightly.

Mites
Blue sees a dwarf! "Grumble noises?"
Dart vs hated foe, PBS: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10Dmg, PBS: 1d3 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 + 1 = 2
For hating dwarves, the mite sure is a lousy aim.
Purple aims its hand at Brallenera and jibbers words.

Red does the same against Shonne.

Aww, you petty tricks aren't amusing me, mite. Pointy Ears, he knew how to use magic. Consider yourself dead.

finally a clear shot asking as he moves diagonally 5 ft. for a cleaner shot at the red mite. "Mite's what are mites?" as he does so he draws two arrows and quickly fires them at the creature.
5 ft step. Full attack: point balnk shot, deadly shot, precise shot, MW composite logbow (+2)
attack: 1d20 + 8 - 2 - 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 8 - 2 - 1 + 1 = 17 for damage: 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 2 + 1 = 6

GM Chyro |

Ala'Ihys drops both mites with a rapid succession of his arrows.
The last mite yelps in surprise.
Joseph, Brallenera

![]() |

Awww, don't worry, Songbird, I'll take care of our foe. One last mite for me, some last rites for him..
Brallenera smiles at her joke and strikes an heavy blow.

GM Chyro |

..annnnnd CUT!
Which is literally it.
Brallenera gives Joseph little time and quickly dispatches the mite.
Combat over.

![]() |

"Perhaps this would help?"
Though doomed, Shonne produces a healer's kit and aids in the work.
Heal (aid, doomed): 1d20 + 7 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 7 - 2 = 12
And because she still poisoned too, Fortitude save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 Str damage: 1d2 ⇒ 2
"Ugh!"

GM Chyro |

You can roll for another 2 times.
Ala'Ihys indeed brings the KO'ed person back to consciousness.
"Hrm...erm..eh? Damn you filthy critters, i aught to...oh"
He notices you four standing near him.
"You've killed them?.....My saviors!!", Ala'Ihys receives a friendly slap on the shoulder. "'t was awful! These critters and their vermin suddenly burst through the other barricade and threw themselves upon me." Yet then it occurs to him.
"I'm Torvic.
Hang on...do i know you....should i know you?...Things still are fuzzy.
...but thank you anyway!"

![]() |
'Good the dwarf will be ok, aahhh and he is just the fellow we are looking for.' Grasping the dwarfs hand and shaking Ala'Ihys introduces himself "You are welcome good sir, we have not met. I am Ala’Ihys Amatullah al-Rashid, Servant of the Dawnflower, Venerator of Sunlord Thalachos, Rider of the Histaqen, knight of Relios. My associates and I are pathfinders and we have been sent to you hopefully to our mutual benefit."
Laying aside his bow, reaching into his pouch he draws out the box holding the pearl and carefully opening the box showing the pearl to Torvic, he continues "Our order recently came into position of this pearl. Our diviners were able to determine that Barek used this one as a key. We believe the pearl was stolen from you and when we returned it to you that you would consider forming an alliance with us and show us the way to the Gallery of Wonders."
diplomacy: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 well crud

GM Chyro |

Right before Ala'Ihys makes his introductions, a moment of frantic words comes from Torvic's lips.
"I was there! There were things there! I remember—something. A
woman who whispered nightmares. You...you musn't go and sleep, you musn't!"
Upon being shown the pearl, his eyes grow big.
"The pearl! By my grandfather's braided beard, the pearl :D"
He holds it for a moment, provided you let him, "The pearl's connected to it all. Whatever's down there, they must've done something to be because i didn't have it? Hmm...[soft muttering]....but the pearl's needed to prevent traps too.
I, i think i can lead you to that place."

![]() |

Aww, I'm not here to take a nap. Let's go, if these mites don't have anything useful on them..
Brallenera checks the mites body before leaving the place

GM Chyro |

I was waiting to see if any of you did.
Go thank Brallenera ;)
On the mites you find uncut gems, worth probably 1500gp.

GM Chyro |

The prrrecioussss :)
I'll continue this after dinner.

Now that the other patient is out of harm's way, Shonne casts resistance
Fortitude save (doomed, resistance): 1d20 + 4 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 1 - 2 = 18

GM Chyro |

Ew man XD
=> Marching order please.
Shonne finally gets the ant's poison out of her system.
The confused Torvic leads you deeper, eventually crossing a part of ridge.
You end up at a wall, inscribed with runes, praising the glory of the dwarven art.
Those who speak dwarven, perception roll please.
You notice details and can conclude there's likely a secret door here somewhere.
Requires DC 20 Disable Device to open.
As well, you notice 5 runes that look as if they can be pressed.
There's a socket in the king's crown, that looks like something can be placed there.

![]() |

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
There is a secret door mentioned somewhere...here!
Brallenera points out
But I don't know how to open it.

![]() |

Joseph will be in the middle, closer to the front maybe.
Perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (2) - 2 = 0
Joseph raises an eyebrow at Brallenera and looks at what appears to be a blank wall to him.
"Are you sure?" he asks and just scratches his head in confusion.

GM Chyro |

As Brallenera passed the DC 15 for the runes, but was naughty enough not to tell about the runes:
5 runes look like they can be pressed.
They are the dwarven signs for “found,” “kings,” “glory,” “art,” and “support.”
Puzzle time, yay.
Press them in the correct order to open the door.
We'll go with 1 suggestion from each PC, provided the former was a miss.
There was of course, another perception result.

GM Chyro |

I believe Joseph volunteered to be in 2nd spot, unless someone really wants him not to?

GM Chyro |

Sadly not. Via PM he told me he'd be too busy with irl things and withdraw from a couple of games. He felt he could not dedicate as much time to a long term campaign as he had anticipated.

![]() |

Awww, let's try "kings found art support glory." It makes sense. To me, at least.
If no one stops her, Brallenera will press the dwarf runes in that order.

GM Chyro |

The good news is nothing bad happened.
The bad new is, it didn't open.
Third's a charm?

![]() |

Sadly not. Via PM he told me he'd be too busy with irl things and withdraw from a couple of games. He felt he could not dedicate as much time to a long term campaign as he had anticipated.
such is life, sadly.
Joseph just watches, uncertain as to what to do with these runes and leaving it to the dwarf in case they were attuned to only Dwarves.

![]() |

Awww, sorry, should have told you. There are five words "Art" kings" "support" "glory" "found".
Brallenera points to each rune
So I guess you have to press the words in a specific order to make a sentence.
Linguistics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18 Any clue? What would be the first word?
It seems strange to you that the usually short tempered dwarfess stays calm while she tries the puzzle, even more after two failures...

![]() |

Dwarves. This has got to be another one of those speak 'friend' and enter things....
The words themselves are simple, but open to numerous interpretations:
found = create, begin
art = a skill, craft
support = something to hold up a structure with
kings = rulers
glory = fame, importance
They could be random words--a test to see if the puzzler is a dwarf or their ally and you just need to put them in Dwarven alphabetical order once you know what their most precise Dwarven meaning is: Art, Found, Glory, Kings, Support.
They don't appear to be anagrams, nor do their first letters spell out anything intelligible.
They could form a crude (even by dwarf standards) sentence. Are all of them even needed? Again the context matters. They might describe the "founding" of the trove we are searching for, or perhaps that someone had "found" it after some time that it had been lost, but again without more clues the context is elusive.... That and because of the poison my gear is too heavy for me to bear and be quick enough to react effectively in combat by about 21 lbs.

GM Chyro |

Sorry Brallenera, there's no clue on the runes to indicate the 1st word.

![]() |

Shonne's blind guess: found, support, art, kings, glory.

![]() |

Dwarven grammar, it's the same grammar used to name manga. ;)

GM Chyro |

On the side; i dislike these puzzles in general, too time consuming. @ Ala'Ihys: That particular detail was spoilered earlier, with nobody aside from Brallenera rolling. :3
Brallenera presses a third time.
Wait...something's happening, you hear something.
BULLRUSH WALL: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34 Yikes..
A large section of the wall rushes forth from the side.
Brallenera and Joseph, reflex DC 20 please, or you take 4d6 ⇒ (6, 6, 3, 1) = 16 falling damage, for being shoved off the slope.

![]() |

Ref save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Brallenera isn't pushed away by the moving wall.
How she managed to dodge it remains a mistery.
Aww, at least something happens! I knew it!

it read like only the people who could read dwarvish were permitted a roll, is that the case? Or could everyone have rolled looking for a hole for a pearl?
