Background:

Ting Tang was born in the Crownsgate district of Oppara. As a hatchling he was raised by His mother, Kankai, Who ran a "curiosity shop." His absentee father Taicho "I know a guy" Maous was off working in the Pathfinder Society, a Sczarni and close associate of the Brotherhood of Silence. When father was home he regaled Ting Tang with the wonderful life of a Pathfinder.

Ting Tang's life took an unforeseen turn when he suffered a grievous injury while running afoul of the local constable. Fortunately after he recovered from his injury he was snuck out of the slums to live with Kankai's parents, in the rural community of Elbistan a distance from the city. Ting Tang's grandmother loved and cared for him while his grandfather a competent smuggler (slayer) trained Ting Tang in woodcraft, swordsmanship and other various and nefarious skills.

Four years ago Ting Tang's life took another turn. His Grandfather took a Job smuggling some liberated Halflings from point a to point b. This particular job was for a Pathfinder named Halungalom Smudge that Ting Tang's father owed a favor, and Taicho "I know a guy" Maous always pays his debts; especially ones that do not cost him anything. Ting Tang instantly took a liking to the Gnome sorcerer Halungalom and was infatuated with the romantic notion of freeing those bound by slavery and of course joining the organization that his father so proudly represented. When Halungalom's party separated from Grandfathers Ting Tang slipped away after them liberating some of grandfathers extra inventory in the process. Once Halungalom realized Ting Tang was with them it was to late for him not to be. He took on Ting Tang as a Pathfinder Apprentice and has just presently released him to pass the final tests. Ting Tang droped his sur-name knowing it may be a problem due to the incident in Oppara and followed his mentor into the Liberty’s Edge Faction.

Ting Tangs first Job for the Pathfinders was at the behest of the church of Pharasma. He joined a team of Patfinders as a trap expert. They descend into the sealed lower levels of the Godsmouth Ossuary. They contended with ancient Thassilonian guardians and traps, undead creatures risen from the corpses buried there, as well as other denizens. It was there that he aquired his emerald green robe, his exotic masterwork bastard sword, his left-handed dispositon and his new friends: Hans, Alexos and Felicitas. Whom he plans to journey with...

Appearance:

He is Twenty years old and slightly above average height and weight at 4' 8" and 90 Lbs. He proudly displays his new darkleaf lamellar armor, under which, he wears a robe of deep emerald from the same crypts as his exotic bastard sword riding on his back, its handle peeking out over his left shoulder. On his left hip is a Sawtooth sabre and a coldiron warhammer on his right with his chakrams in a pouch behind his back. His pack rides high and light on his shoulders, with his shield slung on his right side within easy reach. The ensemble blends well with his so-black-they-look-blue feathers. Except for his conical Sedge-grass hat, which he decorates with multi colored ribbons, yarns and strings of different materials, lengths and widths, along with the occasional hair. Each piece of material is the payment he received from a slave he helped free. Each hair, well, if you cut a dwarfs beard you must keep a memento. No job is done for free nor is it forgotten. He wears his hat low on his head to shade his yellow shifting eyes and cover his most obvious defect; the scar on his crooked beak. Fractured by a dwarven mace; creating the Hugh eucalyptus-tree-shaped-scar at its base where his nostrils used to be; Causing his breathing to be raspy and loud. When he keeps his mouth just so, to quite his breathing, it causes him to drool.

Personality:

Ting Tang is an unapologetic sort. He is Tengu through and through. He is not offended by the names: raven, rook, crow, starling, vulture, scavenger, smuggler, criminal or even thief. He believes in the rights of freedom: The right to free slaves from their oppressors, the right to free tombs of troves, the right to free libraries of their archives, The right to free jewelers from their baubles, the right to free fat merchants of their merchandise, the right to free the oppressed from the oppressors, the right to free those who are arrogant from their pride, the right to free dwarves from their beards and the right to free slavers from their mortal coil.

If you were to ask Ting Tang himself how he got the scar he would respond in a screachy voice (way too similar to a crows caw to be funny) "O' me scar? Tha Shorts: I caught a bloody mace with me bloody face. Tha Longs: I was strollen up tha cobbles wit' a murder o' 'batorers runnin' a game o' pocket pinch when 'is Starling orders up's pennies. So I eyeballs 'is Badger wearin' shoddies but wid' a stuffed bag. So I says to me saelf "'at old gear and 'at stuffed bag? It mus' be full o' coppers!" I was wroight so's to speak. I slipped up behind 'at bearded bugger an slipped me fly out to cut 'at old purse. An' 'at rock-eater turned on me quick as curdle on cream an' whacked me squares on me pie eater, cracked me bloody noggin', broke me floggen beak, spun me's about topsy turvy 'an sent me's ta scamper 'ome 'olden me face in place; worse part o' 'at story. 'At ol' bloody bearded mace lovin' barrel built so-an-so was a copper, 'ats wroight 'e was a law dog an' I's been on tha woolies since ferever."
