Fixed.
Baillaset gets another hit, but still remains, as the evil baddy he is.
Inkita

Fort: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Ouch...atleast it's only 1 con for the moment....
@Brallenera: I don't believe so...I could be wrong but it depends on if it's con damage or drain.

GM Chyro |

Damage. Though it says drain, the ( ) mention mere con dmg.
Besides, he won't be around long enough for it to matter.

![]() |

apologies for the delay
Inkita takes a 5 ft step further from the foe and throws a ball of fire at him...
Flame vs Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18...DMG: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

GM Chyro |

Baillaset takes the lob of fire right in the face.
A low humming roar emits from the wight, as it arcs its back in response.
He then dissolves into a red vapor.......
Combat over! :)

![]() |

Inkita waits to see if there are other threats before attending her wounds...

![]() |

Brallenera checks the place thoroughly, ready and willing to destroy any evil cult paraphernalia
Taking 20 for 26 total, destroy any statue or unholy symbols, but sparing any book or writing that could give a clue about the rest of the cult

GM Chyro |

Brallenera searches the hall like a bloodhound, but ironically, she only finds the disgusting scene of many corpses hanging from hooks above, like a slaughterhouse.
Their blood is dripping into the basin of crimson red liquid.

![]() |

Inkita focuses her thoughts and tries to detect any magic in the room...

GM Chyro |

There is the magic.....of serenity, no more cultists down here.
I could have been very cheesy, but i'd have to nuke golarion from orbit otherwise.

![]() |

Ah, 3.5 undead and their lack of Constitution scores.
"Now all we have to do is make our way back through the fire and past poltergeist. Fun."
Shonne sweeps the adjoining chambers for magic as well. Takes 20 for perception as appropriate (for 27).

GM Chyro |

Guess what...they're also devoid of magic. :D

GM Chyro |

They're hanging from hooks above.
Civilized races, probably the dead cultists?

GM Chyro |

Basin of blood......hanging from hooks.
I'd figure so, otherwise the GM would have spoilered a perception. :)

![]() |

Shonne cuts the giant's head off and makes ready to leave with it. "Just making sure."

GM Chyro |

A low humming roar emits from the wight, as it arcs its back in response.
He then dissolves into a red vapor.......
;)
I aim to get the chronicles done tonight.
![]() |

Basin of blood......hanging from hooks.
I'd figure so, otherwise the GM would have spoilered a perception. :)
Some GM's I've known don't allow you unless you say, which does keep the party on their toes like an enemy jumping out and if they protest the GM can go "You didn't mention your characters were keeping an eye out." and so on so would often get put on edge.

GM Chyro |

Names? :)
But nah, there was nothing left.
After ascertaining there is nothing down here, enemies that is, you do find a small letter in a corner.
Likely addressed to the wight, it describes a request to instill the fear of Zyphus within the cultists, to set them up against one another.
The last one will start the cult here anew.
Thankfully, you've stopped that plan altogether.
---------------------------------
Back at the VC's office, your story falls on pleased ears.
"So they weren't killed off before. A good job doing so now.
A pity Hustavan isn't alive to give more of an inside testimony, but that's the risk he took, and society isn't exactly a valuable member poorer for it."
The VC leans back slightly.
"Let this be a message to all cults, that we won't tolerate this and will strike back swiftly. Once again, a job well done, pathfinders. Get some time off, you've earned it."
I apologize, as i said i was aiming for the chronicles last night, but between some other stuff, i didn't get to it yet. I will have plenty of time today.

GM Chyro |

Ok, here's the new one. :)
THE CITADEL OF FLAME
Hamshanks ignored all pretense of pleasantries as he pounded
into the meeting room in the Grand Lodge in Absalom.
"Never
time to do it right, is there? Gorum see us through this, then."
He grunted loudly and leveled his glare at the entire room.
"Ever been to Qadira? Religion is almost a fad down there, with new cults springing up like weeds and getting crushed just as quickly. It has been that way for centuries.
But some make a mark—on Qadira or in the Chronicles. Three centuries ago, the archdevil Moloch, preaching surrender to the desert heat, suddenly became the rage."
"Qadirans walked into the desert just to die just as if the heat was their paradise. The most devout sought out the hidden Citadel of Flame, where a fearsome bull-headed idol of Moloch judged them and sent the worthy to Malebolge, the sixth layer of Hell.
No surprise that Sarenrae’s priests launched a mighty crusade to demolish the citadel.
After two weeks, a great sandstorm swallowed the expedition—and, it seemed, the citadel and its idol. Nothing more was heard from either."
"Until ten days ago, that is. Sandstorms regularly scour the Qadiran highlands, and this time they emptied an entire valley of dunes. Poking out of that valley, visible only to those soaring above—such as a flying Pathfinder wizard—was the lofty spire of a fortress: the Citadel of Flame, presumably.
Hopefully we are the first to learn about its reappearance and we need
to act fast. The Decemvirate doesn’t expect any trouble, so they’re
sending you.
But I do expect trouble—who knows what’s infesting that citadel? Get in there fast and find that idol—it could be the key to the entire cult. It’s likely statue-sized, maybe as big as me, and should have a bull’s head on it. And for Gorum’s sake be careful."
--------------------------
Now, after a swift voyage to Sedeq and a tiring trek through the endless Qadiran dunes, the sun beats down on a maze of red slickstone, with delicate arches and towering columns called hoodoos dotting the landscape. Somewhere within this expanse lies the Citadel of Flame and within, the idol of Moloch.

in Hamshanks office
A 4’ 9” Tengu, wearing a dark emerald robe, a grass hat laced with ribbons, his Darkleaf Lamellar armor bristling with blades and a pair of goggles magnifying his yellow eyes to comic proportions steps out of the corner and introduces himself, his voice sounding somewhere between the caw of a crow and the sound of fingernails on a slate schoolroom board. Names, Ting Tang, me Pappy taught me’s skills Pathfiners fine ‘elpful, An I likes bein’ ‘elpful, specially when a ‘ittle sparkly’s ‘vailable, Wroight? I’s got’s a way wit traps’s an locks’. Cocking his head as he looks at the team, lulling his tongue out of his open beak in a tengu smile he adds ”Well we’s bloody well be on our ways, wroight.”
in the Expance
Ting looks around the expanse of hoodoos dotting the landscape, "I's guess we's is supposed ta locates tha City-dell of tha bloody flame 'ear somewhere in 'is blasted place, wroight?"

Hamshanks
A blonde dwarf wearing a big axe, metallic armor and a big shield comes to the meeting room.
Seeing the tengu, she rushes to him and hugs him!
Awww, Birdface! You're back!
Then she realise
Aww. you're not Birdface, aren't you?
She steps back, and listens to the VC, a little ashamed at her mistake.
Desert? Why can't we go in the mountains instead? Somewhere cold?
She sighs
My time is now
The small group walk through the sandy place, with a grumpy barbarian.
Awww. I don't like desert. Way too much sand, if you ask me. But no one ever ask me where we should be going. When I'll be a Venture Captain, I'll ask my Pathfinder where they want to go. THEN I'll send them into the desert. That will teach them. Let's find the statue, kill everyone who gets in our way, and go back.
She tries to find something to kick, but there's only sand.
Awww.. It's too hot in there.

then
ting shakes his head at the friendly dwarf, pointing to the prominent scar on his crooked beak. "I's got 'is nasty scar from a bloody copper at didn't 'ave a bloody sense o' humor, wroight. tha silvery liner bein' I's don't get's mistaken fer another rook in tha crowd, if'n ya catch me meanin."

Shaking his head and loosening his sword in his scabbard. "Course it aint never gone 'at way's yet, no need ta bloody well expect it too's now, wroight."

GM Chyro |

Ting Tang notices nothing special about the hoodoos, save that they are very big, casting large shadows, as the sun shines.
1st thing coming tonight.

GM Chyro |

On your trek you briefly make a stop in Sedeq, Qadira's captial of spice trade & slave trade. Not for long, as you've gotten directions where to head next, to get to your destination.
A rough clearance seems to indicate you getting closer.
-----------------------
The path descends through a maze of cliffs, opening into a slot canyon of smooth red stone surrounded by towering hoodoos.
At the far side, two hoodoos carved into enormous bull-headed men leer down on the canyon, while those nearby look like stylized flames.
To either side, the canyon walls rise steeply in a series of rough ledges to the clifftops above.
Brass doors on a massive wall of baked gray mud can be seen through an arch at the far side of the canyon.

weird...having some trouble editing the profile...

joseph remains silent as he travels on, remaining in the middle of the group and waiting on their decisions.

![]() |

ting meanders through the slotted canyon, looking about carefully, sometimes walking, sometimes hopping like the crows he resembles. Slowing at the entrance into the canyon, he lifts one talon closed in a fist, giving the universal "All Stop" signal. Turning his head, looking over his should almost directly behind himself, he tells the group.
"You's blokes give me's a tick er three's an I's'l eyeballs ahead, Wroight."
He then quietly moves out into the canyon, carefully looking to the right and the left, then looking across the way toward the brass doors.
ting will move 5 ft. forward into the canyon taking 10(20) on stealth, looking first right then left then ahead, taking 10 (20) on perception for all three.

GM Chyro |

Ting moves cautiously, but with walking in an open space, stealth does him little good.
Faint scorch marks crisscrossing the valley floor.
There seems to be a presence of fire elementals.

Back in the office
Las listens with intent, visions of scared jewels can almost been seen in the tan skinned Garundi's eyes.
Las will make the usual knowledge checks, Taking 10 (click on my character name in my profile to see my actual character sheet)
As Ting Tang chatters on, Las mumbles under his breath, "and I thought Tengu were supposed to be clever linguist...."
In the desert
Despite Las' training in linguistics, several times he nearly breaks down to mix an extract of Comprehend Languages just to make sense of what Ting Tang is going on about.
"Did they speak Common in the trees where you grew up?" Las offers an easy smile, the loose fitting turbine and back pack making for an unthreatening sight. At his hip hangs a whip and a crossbow. The portable lab, he left back in Qadira.
Survival: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Las pauses. "I doubt that stylized flame is there just for display. It's been my experience that trap makers often like to have fun at the expense of their victims. Let's just assume the area is trapped."
Las applies some alchemical grease to his finely crafted lamellar armor and then focuses his eyes on the path ahead.
Take 20 on Perception for Traps: 31 or 29 otherwise

![]() |

placed ting on the map,
lulling his tongue out of his beak in his tengu smile, ting responds to Las' question "Oy, Didn't grows up in a bloody tree Gov'n'r, I was strollin' tha cobbles in Crownsgate tills I 'ad an unforeseen incidentally wit a copper, wroight."
After reporting back to the team, ting returns to the entrance and begins crossing the valley, adjusting his goggles he keeps a keen eye out as he goes. "But you's be wroight we's best keep an eye's out fer trappsies."
if no one minds taking our time, ting will also take "20" (30) for perception as they near the copper doors.

GM Chyro |

Here it comes...
As the group moves into the clearing aiming to take 20 on perception they are being observed, as Ting Tang was earlier.
Brallenera was close, but without having identified the faint scorch marks, the party was not expecting the spanish inquisition what lay in wait, about to rush them.
Las Lajas: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Ting Tang: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

Elemental blue: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
Elemental green: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
However, despite not getting opportunity for long observation, both Las Lajas and Ting Tang notice some light coming from both directions.
You both get 1 surprise round action, before regular.
-------------------------------
Surprise round
A fiery elemental rushes down the slope into Brallenera.
Charging slam: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 2 = 24 Dmg + burn: 1d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (5) + 1 + (1) = 7
Brallenera, a reflex DC 14 please, or you are set aflame, taking 1d6 at the start of the next 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds.
A note ahead, creatures with DR take normal damage from energy attacks. Only its slam damage will be reduced, what else do we have resistance for? :)
A second elemental charges from the south, into Las Lajas.
Charging slam: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 2 = 23 Dmg + burn: 1d6 + 1 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) + 1 + (4) = 11
Its burning fist hits him in the ribs.
Likewise Las Lajas.
However, no its their turn to repay in kind.

Fire elementals duh :)
These living bonfires are particularly vulnerable against cold.
They can set aflame those they hit with their slam.

![]() |

Is there a map?
Also, I meant to spread armor ointment on Las, not alchemical grease. Doesn't matter for combat.
Las, fearing the worst, quickly drinks his extract of resist energy, choosing fire as the most logical choice. As the fire elementals rush him, Las gasps at the jab to the ribs.
The investigator takes 5' step back and drink his extract of shield AC is now 19and studies the target in front of him for weaknesses Studied Combat
K. Arcana: 1d20 + 10 + 1d6 ⇒ (18) + 10 + (6) = 34
Edit: Sorry, was confused about the order of actions, but it looks like Las gets his surprise round action after he gets hit. In that case, he steps back and drinks his resist energy.

GM Chyro |

Yes, the map is the link 'Season 1', under my name.
I work in google drawing, and you can drag & drop your own icon.
As well as editing icons for summons, aoe markings etc.
Las Lajas recalls these elementals are not susceptible to flanking nor the overkill (crits), which Brallenera loves dishing so much.
