GM Chyro |

"Ok lass, thank you, may she serve you well in your travels."
Just need to know which J is the dominant one for the day, and if (s)he wants to buy a horse as well.

![]() |

Joseph decides to buy a horse too.
"I'm not sure the horse will be any good once in the woods, but we'll see." he states as he looks over for a particularly good breed. "The horse riding never stuck for me, unfortunately. I hope we're not expected to fight on horse back."
Any breeds that are particularly *noble* in appearance?

GM Chyro |

A white horse any good? The entire 'royalty on white steed' thing. I'll update after dinner, this should be good ^^

GM Chyro |

Back. I've placed your mounts on the map, as well as their very own icons near your portrait. It's got to have style, no?
As you arrive at the lumber camp, the VC was talking about, there are desperate cries coming from the distance. You enter the path of the camp's clearing, in the distance are a few lumberjacks being beset upon by wolves.
They don't look normal, their fur coloration is dull, like dead hairs.
A lumberjacks goes down to the jaws.

Riding without a purchased saddle, causes a -5 penalty on your ride checks.
To guide your horse using just your knees, you must make a DC 5 check, such as for riding them into battle here. This is done at the start of your turn.

You notice that Brallenera has attached (with strings) a fake horn on her poney.

Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Kravg rides into the camp as far as his horse would carry him and then dismount at the edge. Two move actions, one to ride, one to dismount.
"Hold on! We're here to help!" Kravg shouts to the lumberjacks.

GM Chyro |

You usually dismount next to your horse, opposed to in front of it.
Horses move 50ft.
Ponies move 40ft.

![]() |
It's good to be in the saddle again Seeing the woodsmen being attacked by the wolves Ala'Ihys rides Khamsin forward, drawing his bow as he approaches, stopping the grey desert horse a short distance away he quickly draws an arrow and fires at the nearest wolf.

Joseph begins to inspire the group with stories of their latest antics and how close they were at being defeated by the vile woman who was taking control of the mind of the Paladin. Making sure to highlight the latter.

![]() |
So if Joseph is singing about the events ergo he remembers them, should we assume that he was playing dress up as a woman, instead of a split personality where when one is dominant the other is recessive? Ala'Ihys is trying to discern which psychosis Joseph is suffering from: multiple-personality or Eonism

GM Chyro |

A very good point :D
And no, with the horse standing still, no penalty.
Lumbercamp attack, round 1.
Ala'Ihys swiftly rides forth, coming to a halt he shoots an arrow, which misses by a mere foot. "Oi, watch where you're aiming that bow at! >:("
Kravg spurts his black beauty and ends next to the paladin, then dismounts in anticipation of melee combat.
Joseph starts a verse about vampiric pirates, doppelgangers, spending a day in drag and an evil woman with mind-meddling magics.

Toorin rides closer and drinks a potion of mage armor. He turns the horse to face away from the road.
Toorin's current AC = 17
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
Edit: Does the DC for the Perception check drop as the wolves approach? If so, Toorin made it.

GM Chyro |

Yup, it drops, since they closed distance.
If you ride, you owe me a ride check DC 5.

![]() |

Ride: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Not good. What triggered the check? Proximity to the wolves? Or was it something to do with drinking a potion? Or just proximity to battle? I guess I'm still a little unclear on what triggers a check.
Edit: I spent the extra to get a combat-trained mount and a saddle.

GM Chyro |

d20 on skill [Ride]:
Make your Ride check at the start of your turn. If you fail, you can use only one hand this round because you need to use the other to control your mount. This does not take an action.
Since you only used 1 hand on your own, it matters little.
==>Brallenera's little pony has the best AC and health among the mounts, cool. ^^

You left Toorin off the initiative list, but he originally was acting parallel to Brallenera.

Redirection skill GM, allows me to either Trip or Reposition the creature, but I'll save it for another encounter. I saw a wolf still next to me when I checked the map, I assumed the first wolf was still up and needed a sound thrashing.

GM Chyro |

I don't know, and couldn't find, about using ride skill for 5ft step.

Ala'Ihys, putting his bow in it's quiver, he dismounts and collects his arrows. Leading Khamsin, he approaches the survivors of the attack introducing himself and the pathfinders. Neither, demon possession as detect evil should point out, lol.

I don't know if the sect that Ala'Ihys is a member of believes in demon possession...
Ala'Ihys rolls his eyes at the ignorance of the wood cutting peasants and continues. "Whether you believe us or not is irrelevant. We would like to speak to your Forman?" removing a silver piece from his pouch "I will give this to whom ever takes us to him" looking at Bralenera he adds "or her."

GM Chyro |

I don't know if the sect that Ala'Ihys is a member of believes in demon possession...
In a world with so many dangers, why wouldn't there be?
The lack of convincing diplomacy, it's Brallenera's harsh tone that gets the lumberjacks to quiet down. One of them comes forward to speak.
"I'm Vanick Inor, and our foreman is dead, he fell to these wolves' fetid maws prior to your arrival.
*Cough..cough*....since a while back, there's been hostilities between us and the fey living within the forest. Well, it's the policy of the gavel really, but us laborers are getting the punches. The fey attack us, we strike back, it's become a circle."

![]() |

Kravg looks at the lumberjacks, especially the one that just coughed.
"Say, how long did you have that cough? Any more of you around besides the ones we see?"
Kravg seems interested in the tents standing around, then looks at his own wounds sustained by the wolves teeth.

"I've had it since a couple of days, since we stumbled upon a shambler during one of our fey hunts. *Cough* That one exploded with flowers too.
The others are in less of a condition, with rashes at most."
He thinks for a moment.
"I recognize the flowers, come to think of it, they grow in a grove not too far from here, we saw it when on the last satyr hunt.
I'd like to go to Falcon's Hollow and visit Laurel, the herbalist there, she's a smart one, a sympathetic woman. How about it, i show you the grove of the flowers, and you escort me to Falcon's Hollow?"
