Ala’Ihys the Archer
|
Ala'Ihys keeps an eye on the two gardeners, if either of them start to attack Ala'Ihys draws and fires at them.
readied action, if either attack he shoots two arrows at the attacker, if both attack he fires at the nearest
MW comp longbow (+2 str), rapid shot attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6 for damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
MW comp longbow (+2 str), rapid shot attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 for damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Reminder: For the Inspire Courage to help, the bard must be within 30 feet of the allies.
Might just be me, but I always believed it meant Percieve as in see/hear it? For example, if your inspirational thing was dancing, they would need to see you doing it so possibly blindness or blind oracles may lose the benefit where as with say singing anyone can hear, apart from those struck deaf or a oracle with the deaf curse. Atleast that's how I've interpreted it. Is there a FAQ on this? I'm curious as Countersong 30ft, Distraction 30ft, Fascinate 90ft, Inspire competence it says 30ft and must be able to see and hear the Bard. Anyway, back to the game.
Joseph makes a dash, getting closer to the group and attempting to maintain somekind of story as he goes.

Awww, sorry, Pointy-Ears. I didn't want to hurt him that much...Here, use that potion to heal him.
Brallenera seems genuinely sorry, and gives one of her own CLW potion with a sad face.
Will edit my sheet if Toorin gives my potion instead of his.
Toorin
|
Fortitude Save: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Wish I had rolled the heal first!
Toorin checks to see if the gardener is still alive. If so, he will pour the CLW potion in the gardener's mouth to bring him closer to consciousness.
| GM Chyro |
The Grove, round 4.
Ala'Ihys readies an attack.
Tmk, you can't ready a full round attack, i can't find anything suggesting it can.
Joseph runs up to the others, who can hear his inspiring words more clearly now, albeit not quite clearly yet.
Brallenera hands Toorin a potion
Toorin checks the artery of the gardener and detects a very faint pulse.
He's at -11/0, at most you'll stabilize him.
Make a roll for that potion.
----------------------
Gardeners
Blue Bullet vs Brallenera: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11Dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
An epic fail, but he moves away.
Green (-11/0) Getting healed.
Red (-7) Bullet vs Kravg: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 1 = 21Dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Crit?: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3Dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Kravg takes a bullet for the team, yet again on his already sore leg.
Red moves away.

GM, you're forgetting me standing next to red as I threw a punch at his face last round. I was threatening him with both fist and kusarigama. If he moved I'd trip him, if he fired from where he stood I'd trip him. I would've gotten an AoO on him unless he attacked me with a melee weapon.
Trip attempt from before: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Kravg charges after red yet again, throwing a punch at him into his ribs.
Attack, Charge: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 4 + 2 = 121d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
| GM Chyro |
Yes Brallenera, inside the flowers you make a fort roll, if you hadn't failed a plgue fort before.
Alright, Kravg trips red, does not take the bullet to the knee.
Red trying to get up instead, takes an aoo and drops to the ground, leaving just blue.

I wait to see if they are retreating and they fire on my friends Ala'Ihys shakes his head and turning Khamsin toward the last standing gardener he fires two arrows at it.
MW comp longbow (+2 str), rapid shot attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12 for damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
MW comp longbow (+2 str), rapid shot attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19 for damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
| GM Chyro |
Starting your turn in the flower field, you'll need to roll a fort.
Fort DC 18: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Dwarven sturdiness ftw.
Ala'Ihys hits the blue gardener for 6.
Toorin stabilizes green with a potion.
Brallenera drags green away...by his clothes.

The gardener yells in anger
"Defiler of nature!!!"
He switches to a sickle.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4nl: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
An utter miss.
I believe Kravg has something here...
Kravg Ironfeather
|
Kravg kicks the man twice, at least he tries to do so.
Flurry of Kicks: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 201d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13
Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 51d6 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
| GM Chyro |
The gardener gets a beating and he goes down.
Combat over....?
| GM Chyro |
That is a good question, it depends on what you do.
Toorin
|
Toorin calls out to urge Kravg do what he can to keep the gardener alive. Then he suggests we carry the injured ones back to the edge of the clearing, bind them, heal them until conscious, and see what we can get from them about who they ares and what this garden is for.
Another suggestion: make a circuit around the plot to see if we can find any tracks, trails, or other evidence to figure out where these guys live when they are not tending plague inducing flowers.
| GM Chyro |
Who's going to tie him up? Provided Kravg manages a succesful 1st aid check.
Kravg Ironfeather
|
Kravg attempts to check the man to see if he could stabilize him.
Heal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Let's try that a few more times.
Heal checks: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 141d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 181d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
| GM Chyro |
Kravg manages to stop the bleeding at a very crucial moment.
Or he'd be very dead.
Toorin
|
Before Toorin tries to tie the man, he examines him for symptoms similar to the other loggers he saw with the disease.
Heal: 1d20 ⇒ 7
He will tie the man up, just enough to keep him from moving his arms to cast spells. He'll tie a rag over his mouth to prevent speaking when we don't want him to. He'll suggest we then move him to the edge of the field (near where we left the horses) and then examine his possessions, before casting CLWs from the wand.
| GM Chyro |
The man is at -10/0, very close to death.
On him he carried a sling with several remaining bullets and a mwk sickle.
Toorin's heal check isn't top notch, but he can easily see a feverish color on the gardener's face.
Ala’Ihys the Archer
|
so which bad guys are dead and which are wounded? green is stabilized, Kravg just stabilized blue. Previously, Kravg tripped and punched out red, is red unconscious or dead?
Riding Khamsin, carefully back to the area in front of the flowers, dismounting, Ala'Ihys asks the team, "can we keep them all alive? How can I help?"
Toorin
|
Not sure where the third fell, but if he's in the flowers, we should leave him or we'll risk further infection.
"They did not seem to be aware of the plague these flower cause. They spoke about how they were able to walk among the flowers without suffering harm, so they may not realize what they are producing. Joseph, would you mind healing this one with your wand to bring him around?"
Kravg Ironfeather
|
"No, I'm good Brallenera, I'll drag him out of the field by his clothes."
Kravg drags the man out of the field for closer inspection.
"So what do we want to know from them?"
| GM Chyro |
Yes, i'm curious.
Yes Kravg, red-dead-no redemption.
Ala’Ihys the Archer
|
what kind of shape is this fellow in? After Kravg drags the gardener well out of the flowers Ala'Ihys approaches the gardener and kneeling beside attempts to help assist the creature. Responding do Kravgs question "That is a good question, what makes us think these 'gardeners' will be any more reasonable now after we killed one of their number?"
heal check, help stabilize or find out what medical information he can: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14
GM Chyro, you said the one looked feverish, I don't suppose a 14 is high enough for you to elaborate?
| GM Chyro |
Kravg had stabilized him.
Aside from looking feverish and a shade paler due to it, there are as of yet no visible signs of something particular. But it's common knowledge something is wrong when one is feverish.
It's a new plague, it's basic things for now.
Brallenera Thalkham
|
Awww, Sarenaen, he looks like a whiter shade of pale now... Sorry. ^^
Awww, maybe we can ask him why his flowers give sickness? And why he is tending to them at the risk of his health? That sounds a little insane to me.. Does he obeys orders?
Toorin
|
If we're going to talk to him, we'll have to heal his wounds more. I'd suggest we see what the wand can do if we have the charges. But if we heal him, he may eventually turn into one of those plague zombies, so perhaps the merciful thing to do is let him expire. I agree it's unlikely he will tall us anything much, but we might try to find out if he knows about the flowers, why they are being grown. He may not know they cause the plague. And we might find a cure and be able to help him later, if he cooperates.

love the song. I can be even more obscure and remember when it was used in The 10th Kingdom.
Joseph rolls his eyes
"Why do we need to save them? One I understand for information, but why the rest?" he asks with is blade still out and looking over the bodies.
Any of them certainly dead?
Ala’Ihys the Archer
|
Ala'Ihys shakes his head and rolls his eyes, answering Joseph "The pathfinder organization has sent us here to build a relationship with the faire court, to do that we must stabilize the relationship between human and fey. Any lives we can save will help do that, as will finding the cause of the disease so the humans and fey stop blaming each other." Then looking pointedly at Joseph he continues, "Besides, its the right thing to do. Just because one may be insane, for whatever reason, does not mean they do not deserve life and breath."
Kravg Ironfeather
|
"Perhaps so Ala'Ihys, but remember madmen might be a danger to society as well. These three might be insane, but sane enough to work together here in this flowering field. If this field is just for flowers and nothing more, there's no harm done, otherwise these insane men are perhaps too dangerous to be left alone or alive."
Toorin
|
Unless Joseph objects to using the healing wand on any of them, let's move things along and roll to see how many charges it will take to get the one that is -10 back to consciousness.
CLW wand charge: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
CLW wand charge: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Just enough to bring him back to 1 point and consciouness. Let's let Ala'Ihys do the talking and focus first on diplomacy. If that doesn't work, perhaps we can let Brallenera do some intimidation.
| GM Chyro |
To Joseph's question, red is dead.
The man slowly comes to, his eyes unfocused.
Let the attempt at negotiations begin.
Ala’Ihys the Archer
|
Seeing the unfocused look in the gardeners eyes Ala'Ihys shakes his head. this one is still not going to communicate with us. Turning to the pathfinders he asks "I do not believe we will make any progress with either of these. Since we are taking Vanick Inor to Falcon's Hollow and visiting Laurel the herbalist there why don't we take these two along and see if we can get them healed? Then they may be able to assist us"
| GM Chyro |
The 'gardener' regains more focus in his eyes, which have a mix of confusion and anger in them.
"You...."
He notices his bonds.
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Ala’Ihys the Archer
|
Ala'Ihys approaches the just awakened gardener he takes a knee beside the bound man and asks, "We believe you are sick, possibly an affect from the flowers. Are you willing to talk to us about the garden and the flowers as I previously requested? looking the man in the eye. we will take them with use weather they talk to us or not.
diplomacy: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19
