I realise that i did not announce Mylvwara's spell. It was true strike.

GM Chyro |

I had a feeling it'd be true strike. :)
From what i've read, it's a grey area, but varies per table. Though it wouldn't matter right now, as players have but 1 re-roll per mission. Nemms used hers already.
Come to notice, with Brallenera ending her turn near lava, she took 2d6 ⇒ (5, 4) = 9 fire dmg at end of her turn.
After ending her turn and 9 fire dmg, Brallenera is at 3/95 (rage HP) (-9/83 regular HP)
15 fire dmg from save, guarded life converts it to 6 nonlethal & 9 lethal.
Brallenera goes to -6 (rage max HP), 12 rage HP bonus fades, Brallenera is at -18/83. Her con is 18. She's out of commission. :(
The hellwolf's fire breath burns the two pathfinders alive, much to the horror of the other three.
The chaos shard slows it this round, so it only can do the hell breath.
Mylvwara and her archon dish out another 24 dmg, and the hound has suffered 122 dmg so far. By the 9 hells, it still stands on its legs, getting angrier the more it is injured.

The massive hound, all flame and muscle and fangs, snarls at the slight elf before it. Endless malevolence burns in its eyes as it inhales, ready to roar out more gouts of flame.
At that moment, the shaking hands and faltering tongue of the elf unfold a spell and freezing hail, supernaturally cold, pours from her fingers.
The ice follows the giant hound’s inward breath, down into its gullet, and the creature chokes and convulses, lurching onto its side and kicking feebly at the air for a few moments before its inner flame gutters and goes out for ever.
She falls to one knee for a second then gets to her feet.
Mylvwara isn’t even looking at the great hound. Her eyes are fixed on two blackened bodies lying the other side of its great, fallen bulk.

Shardra - Iconic Shaman |

Shardra can't believe what has happened here!
"Oh dear spirits ... Nemesis and Brallenera are dead!" she starts to shed some tears and runs to the cages looking for anybody who remotely looks like Dralneen!
She better be here ... otherwise ... otherwise all of this was in vain.

With the hellwolf dead, Shardra heads towards the hanging gibbets, wherein a single humanoid figure is held captive.
Although the gibbet is a good 20ft up, long black hair and a messy formal dress, suggest madam Dralneen is up there.
She looks down upon you, shouting,
"There are controls below to operate the gibbets. Be careful, incorrect handling might have dire consequences."

Shardra - Iconic Shaman |

Shardra is almost angry to hear such a tone after what she must have witnessed!
She tries to get the cage down.

Dralneen's dress is filthy, and her forehead is visibly sweated, from spending time in this warm climate.
"My wholehearted thanks, agents. Am i right in assuming you came the same way as that hellknight did?"

![]() |

"Yes." Mylvwara pauses, her attention still only partially on the woman.
Straining still to maintain her composure, the elf raises a question, "Did you, by any chance, see how the hellknight returned to the Prime Material plane?"
Then she gives a little, rueful smile which fades within an instant, "We have cleared your name. Restored your position. Shown that the charges against you were trumped up inventions."

Shardra - Iconic Shaman |

Shardra raises an eyebrow again.
"We sacrificed a lot to bring you back. Two of our companions perished. Let us make haste and get out of here!"

GM Chyro |

Did you, by any chance, see how the hellknight returned to the Prime Material plane?"
"Yes, he used a figurine he opened a portal to here with."
We sacrificed a lot to bring you back. Two of our companions perished. Let us make haste and get out of here!
"I am sorry for that. Hopefully both of them have the means to come back to us, but indeed, the faster we are out of here the better."

GM Chyro |

Zartana nods.
"Indeed."
Mylvwara uses the keyword she heard Nemesis speak before, and the portal back to the citadel opens before you.
There, the maralictor sits still bound, save he has a black eye now.
Zartana frowns, as she approaches, but an air of dignity still surrounds the woman.
"Your plan has been foiled, hellknight. Two of our own fell in the rescue, i will make sure the situation for you will be as unfavorable as possible."
He glares back at her, not saying a thing.
Will you leave the citadel right away, or....would you like to accompany Zartana?

Shardra - Iconic Shaman |

”We will accompany you all the way back to the venture captain miss Dralneen!“

Hitching a ride with a contingent of hellknights, set for Korvosa, you find yourselves back in a civilized metropolis.....as far as such is considered.
When you meet Venture-Captain Heidmarch at Shoreline Drinkhall, he
hastily instructs medics to whisk Dralneen away to safety.
"Gods be praised, your effort was a success. I regret to see at the expense of two lives, though. I'll get a runner to make reservations for a revival at the church of Abadar."
He nods.
"Nonetheless a job well done. The society owes you a great debt, even though it as a whole won't speak it, i will, and moreso likely, lady Dralneen."
================================
Some time later, at a local church of Abadar,
The head priest and his clerics prepare the revival of Brallenera and Nemesis, each of whom surprised their respective 'doorman to the line of judgment', by being there on such short notice yet again.
As the door to the room opens for them to rejoin their fellow agents, Brallenera sees a cheerful sight. A small girl, holding a teddybear, comes out of another room where a revival was performed. Received by parents, with tears of joy, the girl then noticed Brallenera, waves, and comes running into Brallenera, hugging her in excitement.
It's little Emily whom she met in the line of judgment, at the time of her death at the hands of the dark creeper rogue.
"Mama, papa, and the nice lady too. Hello again."
(warm radiant smile, and 2nd hug)
========================================
That evening,
You had received a summon to a house in one of the more posh districts of Korvosa, signed by Zartana Dralneen.
"Welcome, agents. Once again, and now at my leisure, i wish to express my gratitude for freeing me from imprisonment. Mere words are insufficient, and therefor i offer each of you an item from my personal collection. Within reasonable boundaries, of course."
She also reserves a table for you at a nice restaurant, with a balcony view of Korvosa's waters and surrounding land. The light of the moon presents a serene, yet slightly melancholic, atmosphere.
With recent events, thoughts come and leave your minds.
Where will each of you go from here, will it still be with familiar faces, will great feats like recent ever be recognized beyond those directly involved.
Only time will tell...

Shardra - Iconic Shaman |

Wow. Nice description. To the point and emotional! :-)
Shardra has little joy when it involves such posh festivities but she is so glad to see her companions are alive again.
Nonetheless she feels that the spirits must have visited them in their absence from this world.
Hesitantly she asks.
”Nemesis, Brallenera ... a .. a personal question. How was it like ... to be dead? To be a spirit?“

![]() |

Aww, not so bad, but I wouldn't do that for a living.
Despite the humor and bravado, Brallenera still have a heavy heart.
The encounter of Emily, again, weights heavily on her soul, and she hides herself to get a little cry
Awww.. why me? Why can I come back from the dead, while Emily can't? At least she's with her parents now..
Really, really nicely done, Chyro. You got me. That was unexpected, and a really nice touch of continuity.

GM Chyro |

Mademoiselle, you may want to read that over again. :)

”Nemesis, Brallenera ... a .. a personal question. How was it like ... to be dead? To be a spirit?“
Nemesis is silent at first, staring not at the sea, but back at the hearth inside.
"It is Pain. It is Power. It is Perdition. It is Purity...Of course," She smiles gently at Shardra. "I can speak only of Ymeri's Domain. You weren't thinking of converting, were you? I've never gotten to perform the initiation rite for another...."

Shardra - Iconic Shaman |

Shardra blinks for a couple of seconds.
”No. I do not wish to convert.... “ she says politely in her deep voice.
