That was unexpected! But welcome.

Toorin offers one of his potions of CLW to Kravg, if he needs healing.

Vanick Inor wrote:
"...since a while back, there's been hostilities between us and the fey living within the forest...The fey attack us, we strike back, it's become a circle."
Vanick Inor wrote:
"I recognize the flowers, come to think of it, they grow in a grove not too far from here, we saw it when on the last satyr hunt."

Now it's Toorin's turn to roll his eyes. "You hunt satyrs? You know that might have something to do with why there are hostilities with the fey. You need sever the circle and make peace. We'll try to help you patch things up, but in the meantime, no more hunting fey."

Toorin takes a look at the wounds and the symptoms of the other workers, and compares them with the wounds of Kvarg and any others in our group who took damage or were exposed to the exploding undead.

Kravg isn't showing any signs of rash. Then again, that'd be hard to tell with that plumage.
One of them has a clear bruise on the shoulder, but other than that, just rashes.

they attacked us first, I wonder what the cause of the attacks are, could they be getting the same disease as the lumberjacks and think they are to blame? Turning to the acting foreman Ala'Ihys explains to him, "We are here to find a cure for this disease and bring peace to this valley, please take us to the grove of flowers, and we will escort you to Falcon's Hollow, excuse me please and let me speak to my fellow pathfinders" Stepping away from the man and speaking quietly to the team "Do we need to search or explore this place more or are we ready to go see this grove?" When their conversation is over he returns to the man and asks, "We will leave in a moment do we need mounts or shall we walk?"

"Obviously, if you are attacked you defend yourself. But what part do satyr hunts play in this? Satyrs consider themselves protectors of the forest creatures. To them your hunts for food may seem more like how we would view someone coming into our homes and killing our pets." Toorin strokes the head of Splash, his otter, who by this point is curiously peering at the lumberjacks from his pouch that hangs from the side of Toorin's backpack. "Have you tried to have a conversation under a flag of truce with them? The fey can be capricious but like us, they rarely take risks without some good reason. And if you hunt the satyrs themselves, well, that can hardly help."

Ala'Ithys wrote:

We should look around for tracks of the undead wolves and examine what remains of the ones we killed.

Do the flowers remain or do they vanish? Is there anything left of the creatures?

Toorin tries to think of anything like this case of the exploding undead.

@ Toorin:
"We didn't choose for it, you clearly don't know the consortium.
We work for a rotten low wage, plus if we don't do these hunts, as the gavel ordered, it's our families who will suffer his punishment."

Toorin's Kn. Religion check:

The wolves seem similar to plague zombies.
These foul sort carry diseases, spread upon natural attacks, as well as upon death. They are walking bombs of disease.

Yes, the flowers remain.

What remains of the wolves is scattered rotting flesh, like a pinata.

Toorin's tone softens as he says, "I understand. It is clear if we are to broker peace, we must talk to this ... gavel is it? Is that a logging company? How would we find them or the consortium, the people who make the decisions that have put you in this difficult situation?"

After performing his amateur attempt at identifying the plague's symptoms, he says to the loggers, "Has anyone died from the disease these abominations spread?"

Anybody have any holy water? Do we know anywhere to get some other than back where we started?

Would Toorin know if the consortium referred to is the Aspis Consortium? Are they known to work in this area?
Knowledge (Local): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11

"The consortium...is the logging organization set up by The Gavel, Kreed. He stays rich, we stay poor, but work until we are old, there's no other work for us.
The Gavel doesn't care about the woods, we are to just keep cutting. That in turn probably pissed off the fey, so much that they attack us workers."

Any deaths:
"Not yet, but some back in town wouldn't be far from death's door, give or take a week, maybe less, from what i've heard. *cough*"

Kn. Local check:

The consortium isn't the Aspis consortium, but a logging organization, as Vanick mentioned. The only logging organization for precious Darkvale Wood, it is run by the gavel Kreed, a greedy man getting rich over the very hard labor of the townspeople.
He has a right hand man, taskmaster Bloodeye, a hulking brute of a human man.
Kreed hates meddlesome outsiders and fey.

While The Gavel is not connected to the scenario, i don't mind at all if you take a side tour there. :)
We've been fighting/undermining the gavel and his consortium for a long time, finally taking down such a corrupt and despicable man feels good. Damn a-hole hung 2 ex-PCs.

"Might be best if you can get your hands on some holy water. Anyone who dies of this plague may well rise again as a plague spreading zombie. Pouring holy water on the corpse might prevent that, but you may need to consult a cleric to know for sure. If that is not an option, perhaps lock the corpses of any who die in their coffins or some other secure box. Good luck. If we find a cure, we'll seek you out."

If the man knows of a source of holy water but lacks the funds to purchase any, Toorin will leave 100 gp for the loggers to use for that purpose.

Toorin recommends to the group that we have a look around the grounds for anything we might have missed earlier and then head off to find this grove and the herbalist.

Just to confirm, these are the same flowers as appear when the undead wolves were killed? Also, since the range of Detect Evil is 60 feet, I assume the three gardeners are standing about 65 feet from the edge of the flower bed? Edit: Never mind. I just found the map.

Knowledge (Nature): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Looking for anything Toorin might know about what such flowers might be.

Toorin approaches to about 50 feet from the edge of the flowers and dismounts and walks toward the flowers until he is 20 feet to Ala'Ihys right side at the south edge of the fields (see map). As he starts his walk, he first draws and holds his bow in his left hand, then he casts Detect Magic and concentrates on it as he walks closer, trying first to see if there is anything magical about the plot.

Knowledge (Arcana): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
For any magical auras in the field.

Finally, he directs his attention at the people, looking for any indication if they are human, fey, or something else.

Knowledge(????): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Bonus for roll is 8 if the knowledge type called for is arcana, dungeoneering, local, nature, or nobility, and is 9 if religion applies.

Silver Crusade

Riding Khamsin just outside of the flower garden "we do not bother with what does not harm nature's treasures" a double negative, are they saying they only harm what bothers the 'flowers' which the consider natures treasures or are the saying they only take care of things that bother natures treasures and they tend the flowers so the flowers harm natures treasures... bow and reins casually held in his hands, he asks the speaker "I am a simple man and this is not my native language, could you explain for me. If Fey and humans do not come here what are you, and these flowers, since you do not bother with what does not harm, you obviously care for the flowers so you bother with them greatly, so do they harm nature's treasures?"

so 50 ft. stops Khamsin, move action: casts detect evil again
