GM Chyro |

He'd need to beat the CMD by 5 to move through Gali's square.
Is that roll including the soft cover he has?

Once again, Brallenera get burned by the mage.
She doesn't like it.
It makes her angry. RAGE!

Gali goes down.
Combat over.

"Someone check that caster for some healing potions or wands."
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15
Las then spends a minute preparing his last extract as adhesive spittle. Las will need 10 rounds (1 minutes) to make the extract

GM Chyro |

2 smokesticks
scroll of shield
Mwk dagger
cloak of resist +1
ring of prot +1
Holy symbol (Moloch)
Hand of the mage
Within the room, Las Lajas notices the forementioned hidden door behind the throne.

"Joseph, are you detecting any magic from the door or the throne?"
After Las finishes his extract preparation, he examines the room and the door for traps from his present location.

Three rounds of searching

GM Chyro |

Nothing unusual....until he lifts up an old sheet.
....

![]() |

So ting was stunned and blind, then blind, so on the third round he is back in action. Thanks for using the three rounds Las!
Ting lets out another loud Squawk!
Seeing the dead magician He calls out to Brallenera "Now 'at's what I's yappin' 'bout Missy, way's ta whack 'at bloody caster on tha noggin', wroight!"
Then regaining control of his faculties he picks up his sword, shaking his tail feathers trying to restore some decorum, he walks over to Las who is inspecting the room. "Well's 'at was bloody frustratin' Wroight. What can I 'elp ya wit?"
And he begins to take a look around also.
aid another: perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28

GM Chyro |

No, he was stunned blind for 4 rounds.
After that ended, stunned for another round. Such is color spray. :)
And Ting Tang finds what Las Lajas finds...see the dots.

![]() |

Awww, I need healin". And I'm not the only one who got burned.I'll pay for a healin" stick when we come back, Songbird. You're always using yours. That's not fair.

![]() |

good observation Brallenera, ting is down 23 points as well
Ting nods his head along with Brallenera "I's can use a little 'ealin' also, I's brought along a wroight proper wand me self, fer when yers run out, wroight." ting fishes around in his belt pouch pulling out the cure light wounds wand.

![]() |

Are we sure there is more combat?
Seeing the extra wands, Las feels more confident in risking the failure of his own. Invoking his wayfinder,
"Here, let me try mine, that is if you don't mind some infernal healing."
UMD on IH wand for Ting: 1d20 + 11 + 1d6 ⇒ (18) + 11 + (3) = 32

Three charges used, 20 hit points back to Ting, 10 back to Brallenera.

GM Chyro |

Adjusted.
You can't be sure, but to the GM's knowledge, you're in the clear.
Here....

![]() |

ting lulls his tongue out of his beak in his tengu smile, "Tanks, gov'n'r,"
just in case Ting then checks the magician and removes anything he had worth taking. "Bugger! tha nasty ol' finger wiggler, ain't got no shinny's, I's'l take's 'is gear an we's can sell tha stuff later."
Pointing back to the double doors facing the west he asks "A fore we's 'ead throughs tha secrety door behind tha fancy chair shall we's eye-ball what's on tha other side o' 'em doors? Just ta make sure's nothin' is a gonna sneak's up behind us, wroight."
He turns to the double doors facing west and inspects them for locks and traps if clear he then opens them. GM Chyro, is this the room that you described earlier?
ting will take 20 (30) on perception looking for traps or locks, if locked he will take 20 (39) on disable device. if trapped he will roll, I have also included rolls in case "nothing to see hear" is still keeping us from taking 20 ;)
perception: western door: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19
disable device: lock: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (2) + 19 = 21
disable device: trap: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (1) + 21 = 22
wow, a 2 and a 1, I hope it's clear!

GM Chyro |

All is safe, both the doors and the interior.
The only thing of some note, is a small idol of Moloch.

![]() |

Las examines the idol and ask Joseph if there is any magic aura on it?
Going to have to pick up a wand of DM!!

GM Chyro |

No magic....at all....i'm serious.

![]() |

Las examines the idol and ask Joseph if there is any magic aura on it?
Going to have to pick up a wand of DM!!
"None from what I can see..."
joseph states with some confusion
![]() |

Nothing unusual....until he lifts up an old sheet.
....
bored with the room to the west with the idol of Moloch Ting returns to the eastern room and the hidden door behind the throne, looking at it carefully.
is the hidden door behind the sheet or is the sheet behind the hidden door?

GM Chyro |

No, the sheet was in that room, the hidden door is in the large room where you were tasting fireball, behind the throne.
Btw...aren't you happy you didn't find something else, behind a curtain this time? :D

![]() |

No, the sheet was in that room, the hidden door is in the large room where you were tasting fireball, behind the throne.
Btw...aren't you happy you didn't find something else, behind a curtain this time? :D
lol
"We'll's 'ear we go, wroight, Missy, would you's stay close wit 'at 'ammer, you's seem ta ave a talent fer it, wroight." He then carefully checks the secret door and continues on.
assuming he can take 20 on perception to continue, if he needs to roll for anything let me know ;)

![]() |

Within the room, Las Lajas notices the forementioned hidden door behind the throne.
Ok, we found the hidden door behind the throne, have we opened it yet? If so have we entered it yet? If not it was tings intention on his last post to move into the area that is beyond the throne to the east which is still covered on the map. what must we do to progress?

![]() |

Las will assist as best he can without approaching anything that would allow a GM to include Las in the springing of a trap or an attack by monster..... xD

GM Chyro |

Me, spring a trap? :)
Ting Tang carefully opens the door, still sort of expecting something to happen, despite having observed it's clear.
-------------------------------------
The secret door opens onto a covered bridge forty feet across.
The entire structure appears to be carved from a single red stone, but the centuries-long burial in sand has levied its toll.
Long cracks line the walls and ceiling, and twenty feet along the bridge a seven-foot gash splits the floor in two, through which the dark orange stone of the valley below is visible.
Spaced every ten feet on the walls are a series of massive carved heads: a pair of screaming fire elementals, a pair of humans clad in armor, and a pair of bull-headed men, each flanked by massive torches.
The arch’s far end is carved into the shape of a massive leering face, with golden double doors in place of its mouth.
But, aside from the scene of the craftsmanship, something else is on the bridge. And the creature doesn't strike you as very friendly.
"Ahaaaa! Innntrudersss."
This is a greater host devil. These flying outsiders are sadistic and cunning. Their claws can cause unhealing wounds and their breath can cause even the mightiest warriors to feel weak.
Add to info:
They are resistant to most types of weapons, except weapons that radiate righteousness.
They can cast spells, such a summons, and are skilled in grappling others.
Brallenera: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Joseph: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Las Lajas: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
Ting Tang: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Magaav: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
Magaav, round 1
The devil chuckles, and takes a defensive stance.
Total defense.

Joseph
Brallenera & Las Lajas

GM Chyro |

I forgot to mention, but the devil is flying in that square.

![]() |

how high is it flying, can we reach it with melee weapons?
ting, surprised to see a flying monster, "You's don't eye-ball's 'at every day's wroight."reaching into his pouch and drawing a chakram he throws it at the winged creature then steps out of the way.
Move action: drew a chakram, attack: chakram, 5 ft step.
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 for damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10

GM Chyro |

1 action short of attacking. Something else?
And yes, for now, you could reach it with melee weapons.

GM Chyro |

Yes, you said you'd spend a move action to study it as a target.

GM Chyro |

5ft step isn't part of anything, in itself, it's a free action if you don't make other movement.
Ting Tang draws his throwing chakram, and hurls it at the Magaav.
Only barely does it hit the Magaav, but it does so at reduced impact.
"You'll pay....."
Joseph
Brallenera & Las Lajas

K. Planes: 1d20 + 8 + 1d6 ⇒ (19) + 8 + (5) = 32
Las repeats what he knows to the group.
Seeing Ting's shot due reduced damage, Las states the obvious.
"Seems to have some resistance. Anyone have good weapons? Oils of bless weapon?"

GM Chyro |

Botting.
Joseph starts a small song about vermin, and squishing them.
Brallenera & Las Lajas

![]() |

"I get the feeling we're doing this wrong. Maybe that idol of Moloch can help?"
Las moves back to the caster's room and collects the idol.

GM Chyro |

South most room, but same distance to it.
Las Lajas walks off to collect the piece of 'art'.
Brallenera

![]() |

It was described as a "holy symbol" correct?

![]() |

Las was going after the holy symbol that Gali was carrying.

GM Chyro |

Why not say so in the 1st place? :)
Idol is something different from symbol.

![]() |

My bad, didn't realize that there were was more than one symbol. Kind of got lost in all room switching.

GM Chyro |

Botting Brallenera.
@ Joseph, spoilered above: vulnerability to righteous weapons.
Brallenera looks with eagerness for more fighting, and closes in to the devil.
"Aww, this isn't going to end well for you, you're UGLY."
As she comes closer, the magaav thrust forth with its weapon.
AoO, reach: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (14) + 12 = 26Dmg: 2d4 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
Raging axe, AC to 21: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 2 = 19Dmg, rage: 1d10 + 3 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 + 2 = 7
The devil evades it, due to its defensive stance.
"Ah, the little woman wants to play?"

Host devil, round 2
Claws: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (11) + 11 = 22Dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Claws: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21Dmg: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Rend dmg: 1d6 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Brallenera is mauled by the devil's vicious claws, and while her hardy skin is reducing the initial impact, some of her flesh is torn open.
Brallenera is bleeding for 2 a/round, and currently disabled.
May i propose more healing between triggering fights? :)
The devil laughs with malice, and hovers 5 feet back, now being above the opposite part of the damaged bridge.
Jumping the gap requires a DC 7 acrobatics.

Ting Tang
Joseph
Brallenera (bleed 2, disabled) & Las Lajas

![]() |

I though you posted that the devil was in Total Defense? If so, it cannot take AoO's, right?

GM Chyro |

Ah, i've overlooked that, so +7 hp to our dwarfess.

![]() |

Las hears Brallenera getting mauled and fears that he and Joseph will not be able to heal enough damage in a straight up fight.

![]() |

Also a little confused. The aborted AoO was with a reach weapon, but the attack is with two claws. Is it wielding a weapon or did it drop its weapon before clawing?

GM Chyro |

It's wielding a reach, but when Brallenera came up close, it could attack at close quarters with claws.

![]() |

so did it drop it's weapon? If so did it fall into the chasm or our side of the bridge? If it moves to pick it up does Brallenera get a aoo?
chuckling as Brallenera charges the thing "Now you's is in fer it ya bloody bugger." he flinches as the dwarf misses and then gets mauled, "Ouch 'at 'ad ta hoirt, wroight." Seeing the creature fly to the other side, ting draws another chakram and throws it at the beast, then steps forward toward the action.
Move action: drew a chakram, attack: chakram, 5 ft step.
attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27 for damage: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
