If you wind up playing at a classic table, Unchained is an option (assuming as always that you have the books to support it). If you're playing at a Core table, you have to have a Core character, which does not include Unchained.

Cool thank you. I wasn't exactly sure of the rules there, but yes I assumed you needed source material.

One more question. Is d20PFSRD not enough for reference? Or is hard copy or pdf usually a requirement if I wanted to play something I found there?

RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16

D20PFSRD is not enough for a Pathfinder Society reference, no. By Pathfinder Society rules, as outlined in the Guide, you are expected to own a copy of the relevant rulebooks involved in building your character. A GM in PBP is within their rights to ask you to produce a watermarked PDF copy or a photo of the book or the like.

That's the rule. But it's not like people enforce it regularly.

I'm not saying you should break the rules or anything like that. I just don't want to scare away a Society newbie by making them think everyone around here is more concerned with paperwork and rules enforcement than actually playing the game.

If you're brand new to Society, you can usually get away with bringing a level 1 PC, and buying the book after (or during, in the case of PBP) the game, when someone points out that you need it.

I have a couple lvl 1s looking for a game, if needed please let me know

Zylencia, I am looking for a CORE character for a CONFIRMATION game if you have one.

Terevalis, I have one or two core characters laying around.

Thank you both Fromper and dien for your assistance. I know this isn't the place for this type of conversation so I will leave it at that.

Finishing off Season 0 with Recruiting for:

  • Our Lady of Silver Tier 5-9
  • Lyrics of Extinction Tier 7-11

Recruitment Form is open

Game Expectations (Stolen from GM EndlessForms):

1. Posting Frequency: Before signing up, consider how much time you can devote to the game. I prefer players who can post once per day on average. I understand that everyone occasionally has a busy day and just can't find the time to post. I try to avoid this but even as the GM I sometimes miss a day. But not posting for several days is not acceptable. It slows the game down and makes it less interesting because your character will be left behind in the action. And if you disappear during combat and hold things up for a day, I will skip you and move on.

2. Posting Quality: Take advantage of the medium and write some description. Tell us what your PC is doing or what they look like; put up some dialog and start a conversation with your fellow PCs. It makes the game immensely more engaging, immersive, and entertaining. Here is a great example of PCs coming to life with some great description and dialog. I hate to call someone out on bad posting etiquette when the player in question has been making an effort to be better about posting quality lately, but do not ever do this. Isn't the first example so much more fun to read than just a post with some empty dice blocks in it or a post with nothing but ooc text? I will admit, it can sometimes be hard to spice up combat posts. But here is some great simple advice on that. Bottom line: be willing to make an effort role-playing in my game. If you aren't up to that challenge, please consider playing a different game. If you aren't much of a writer or are new to PbP, don't be intimidated. I/We will help you improve! But if you sign up for my game and make too many posts with just dice or just ooc text, I will give you a warning and if your quality doesn't improve I reserve the right to ask you to leave the game.

GM Aosrax- Not sure if you are aware that Eye of the Crocodile King has been retired. You are obviously still more than welcome to play it, though it can't count towards Society credit or play.

Nope, I didn't realize that.

Welcome to the Flaxseed Lodge, Agent Eclipse! GM Aeon is currently recruiting for a set of scenarios that are perfect for new players and their characters. Although the sign-up sheet is full, GM Aeon said that they wanted to give priority to new players. So you are welcome to take my spot if you want it, just replace my details at the bottom of the sheet with yours.

Thank you so much ShieldBug. I wouldn't want to push you out of a game but if you and GM Aeon are truly okay with it I will join that table.

I got directed here from Reddit by GM BatPony and it looks like an awesome place to play.

I've had nothing but good experiences. Granted, I've just started playing here a month ago.

Veteran pathfinder player, new to PFS. I'm looking for a campaign to join here on the forums (PbP). If any GM is interested, please PM me.

To the mods, can you guide me to where I can find the recruitment pages for the campaigns ? Thanks !

Dark Archive

Campaigns are generally found here, though a few GM's start up one here and there in the Flaxseed.

Campaign Adventure Paths (Link)

There is a Sticky link just below the Flaxseed one called Open call for AP's. You can sign up on the spreadsheet there and also keep an eye out on the threads below for recruitment.

This is my first PFS game to run, so I'm looking for experienced players who want to help and are willing to be patient.

Could someone point me in the direction of the next GM school? I thought someone was running a few tutorial games and would like to give it a shot.

I will probably be starting one in a couple of weeks.

For all the newcomers here: Welcome!

There are fewer games starting these days because in a couple of days the special "The Cosmic Captive" is starting. A special is an event in which multiple tables go through the same scenario. Results from each table have an effect on the other tables and on the overall outcome of the table.

To synchronize the tables the writers have placed time-limits on each section within the scenario. This takes special effort from both GMs and players. Therefore it is likely that GMs are reluctant to take on additional tables right now.

Luckily most GMs here run multiple PbP tables at the same time. It is likely that during the period of the special new games will be starting.

As for a GM101: I think that running a GM101 also needs special care and attention, so I would not advise to run that at the same time as a special.

The Exchange

Oh I expected it to be a few weeks to a month at the least before I found one. I'm just beginning my first few Pbp games I just like to plan everything ahead and didn't want to miss an opportunity to join a gm101 if there were any available.

I was reading about the Cosmic Captive Special and color me intrigued. I don't think there was an open table for myself so I believe I'll just be spectating, but I'm definitely going to be on top of the next special.

Zinou, if you cannot find the person and they do not show up in your thread by tomorrow, let's go to the waitlist and see if someone else can take the slot.

Now is the time to check for those who have failed to report.

I just cleared most of the waitlist... That said, Zachary Ringler (Amsheagler) who I just moved to a Tier One table has a seventh level witch, Celie that he wanted to play.

We could move him to your table instead of Qwerty's and move another newcomer to Qwerty's table if we do this right away, and get Qwerty in the loop.

Hmm

Are we just supposed to put ourselves on the document pinned at the top of the page if we're interested in playing the Cosmic Captive?

If so, how do we know if we're picked? By checking it again?

Good question!

At the moment, you'll be adding yourself to the waiting list in hopes of a no-show. However, there are often no-shows so chances are good some folks might still get picked off that list.

If you get picked, your GM should PM you. They're starting to muster tables now!

Hmm
