This is the DM profile of James Martin. I thought it would be useful to put my DMing philosophy here. It's subject to evolution:

This is the story of the PCs and how they become heroes. Heroes are forged in adversity. It is the DM's (my) job to provide the adversity and see to it that the heroes experience both success and failure in order to grow. I do not take my position as adversarial, but as providing adversity, the difference being that I do not win if you lose. However, if I do not create adverse conditions for you, you are not likely to have any fun. In a nutshell, that is my philosophy of DMing.
