No-Mi-Name is most certainly a trap specialist... oui, oui!

He got:
Trap Sense +1 (Ex) +1 bonus on reflex saves and AC against traps.
Trap Spotter (Ex) Whenever you come within 10' of a trap, the GM secretly rolls for you to find it.
Trapfinding +2 Gain a bonus to find or disable traps, including magical ones.

He is a Scout, but that archetype does not give up Trap stuff, it gives up Uncanny Dodge.

Not picking on the DM, just clarifying. Stuff happens, sorry if I didn't call it out!

Didn't take this as a rag on RP, I like RP... a lot. And, I was the fat kid, nerd, etc.

Just helping define and clearly understand the concept folks in the thread, mainly OP were after.

Personally, I like both types of games. For different reasons, obviously.

I do enjoy the tactical game for the converse of what you stated. I created a build that has advantages and disadvantages.

Want to see if we're clever enough to play to our advantages and help each other shine.

Enjoy both types and the rare game that stalled that fence.

Game on!

ps: and yes, if my character is waiting for someone to take a 5' step to a particular space and allow me to unleash 3 precision attacks and possibly end the encounter... but they wax poetically and don't take that step... I'm a bit annoyed.

mechanics are the "housekeeping" but, by all means, embellish as you wish.

Both horrified and proud that the biggun warrior asked his opinon, the goblin inhales deeply. His keen mind scrambling for what to offer.

He considers each door and what he can remember about the layout thus far. He points to one of the doors... 'Dat one!

But, methinks we should go up, he points to where the fire retreated.

Survival, which door first: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

Somewhat nonsensical, but he's taking this very seriously! Random coin flip, basically. Odds/Evens.

Do you think Dunstan has a mortal master? Truly? His master does not seek what's best for you. His master is your enemy, my enemy. They pit us against each other. They tell you that you are what? Cleansing Venice?

You your forces and ours have decimated one another, they will swoop in and destroy us all. We have a common enemy and for better or worse, my enemy's enemy is... my friend. I believe that is from some ancient Indian text. But, I digress. He pauses.

A family was taken as hostages, as bait... two men, a woman and two small children. They are innocent, they know nothing of the darkness in the world you have been made privy to.

Not sure if you've had any exposure to this adventure or at least the way the boss man runs it...

Thom's Story
Ranging far and wide for work as (caravan drover trait), he'd heard about the giants' encroachment (giant slayer trait) and endeavored to get back home and protect the people of his home town.

I remember there was a Half-Orc in town, junk/scrap yard or garbage dump? Could be related to them, half-brother or something. Maybe mom is still in town, dad was killed by giants.

He's a feinting rogue, for that extra +1d6. Hopefully not a fainting rogue :) Elephant in the Room helps, thank you!

He'll be more capable at uRogue Lvl 3 (character level 4?), when he gets +Dex to damage.

Planning on multi-classing into Fighter relatively early, for whip proficiency. He should come fully "online" as they say by Lvl 6 (+5 BAB, with Improved Whip Mastery).

With an emphasis on RP and character development, this should be fine?

Depending on how the party looks at that time, I can go more Rogue or Fighter as needed.

I'm not sure if it's always the case but, with Elephant in the Room... does Weapon Focus apply to an entire Fighter weapon group?

And, do you enjoy maps? Some builds I'm thinking of might be dependent upon positioning, flanking, reach, etc...
