Anubis wags his tail when he hears his name and he barks sharply once. Did you hear that everyone? The Applejack man thinks my poops are gems!
Anubis's ears perk up as he hears his name being called. He charges to the center of the corridor and howls.
Anubis Lvl Up:
"It IS a nice ride," she agrees with Florence, and the first half of Kosei's statement while trying Anubis's balance by rocking side to side."Quiet, sort of, and calm. Very calm." Feeling a lot more than just slightly uncomfortable, Anubis growls quietly. DON'T rock the boat!
Anubis lowers his head and growls, his eyes gleaming with hatred. BAD dogs!
Seeing the Kosei Lion snub the mummy, Anubis is inspired. "BARK BARK!" Ha-ha! You're due for a long sand nap! he growls, taking his leave.
Anubis skitters forward after Kosei Lion and watches him squeeze into the misty tunnel. "Harum?" He cocks his head as the Lion disappears into the mist. "How do you guys do that, Bynx? It's like your shoulders can detatch or something." Stelle and Anubis follow the Lion into the mist.
Anubis's gaze meets the lion's. He lowers his head as his hackles go up. He bares his teeth slightly, growls, then snorts. No, Lion, there can be only one. For Mistress Stelle there is only one steed, and it is , Anubis-Ka! You could never!
Anubis starts sniffing around.

"Mrooow! Mroooow...mrooooow!" Holding his head high, Anubis faces Bynx and wags his tail three times in salute.
"Come on out, Bynx!" Anubis, in his own stalking mode growls. Don't do it Bynx -- don't bother. It smells all stinky! Like poop! "Maow!" Before Anubis can turn into position, Bynx dexterously pounces on the glorious stink bug. "Woof!" Way to go! You got it!
Wait! NO! DON'T BURY IT! WE NEED THAT!
"Mraow!" Anubis trots up to Bynx tail a-wag and ear to ear toothy smile. He gently but firmly plants his nose onto Bynx's side for several seconds in reassurance. "It's you, you're still you -- and you're intact, see?! I like what you did to the place -- your enemies are nowhere in sight! Did you pick clean the bones and then eat them too?! Great job!!!" He blushes in excitement, tail threatening to wag dog.

Anubis whines, after bristling at the rocky giant. Does she think I can walk on air?!
Anubis trots up and places his nose gently but firmly into Nidhi's side, then gingerly licks her hand twice with his soft pink tongue. Don't worry Mistress Nidhi. You are safe. We are protecting you.
"Not that I think anyone here is secretly a wall-licker..." Anubis cracks a sheepish grin, wags his tail and blushes. Not me, no. I would never."
Anubis bows, and wags his tail three times in salute.
Gee, I kind of like these guys.
Anubis pants uncomfortably 10' in the air with Stelle perched upon him. It's already hot, and no cool water to wash up with nearby. I swear in my next life I'll be reincarnated as a collie. I hear they have something called 'scotch guard' built into their fur.
"The stars of Osirion seem to sooth him. Why is it he seems always angry? Does he miss this Ben or he lost someone else my friends?" Kosei produces a pink rhomboid stone from his belt pouch and leaves it free at his head height. Anubis wolfs down the meat provided to him by Ptemenib, breathing occasionally between bites. He glances up at the stone the Garundi orbits around his head, then at the lone figure Zilchus by the river. The stars of Osirion sooth everyone, as does the water of the River. Perhaps it is Zilchus who has lost himself -- and it is the essence of his individuality which he seeks to find within the River. He inhales the last of the meat, then belches satisfactorily before slaking his thirst at the water bowl. He circles near the front of the hearth three times before settling down for a nap -- confident that Zilchus is safely watched over.
”But Anubis is injured, poor dog. May I?” he asks Stelle. Assuming she assents, he’ll cast various healing spells to heal him up. Once healed, Anubis stretches out facing Ptemenib -- his forepaws in front of him in an almost kowtow, and wags his tail three times. Then standing, he sighs deeply and yawns. Thank you Human. I feel like a puppy again. Is it time to eat then nap now? ~
Zilchus accepts Ptemenib’s healing, but gruffly as he’s still annoyed by the failure of the Pharasmooks. But after healing, he goes to find a more quiet spot to sit, opening up a jug of applejack. Anubis watches everyone but Zilchus follow Ptemenib back to the refreshments of Wati, and becomes curious if not concerned about the Pack split. He follows Zilchus to the Quiet Spot, and eyes him with bemusement as he sips at some weird smelly astringent in the dry desert heat. Silly human. Learn. That stuff makes you dull. Very dull. Grinning in the only manner he can -- stupidly -- the dog trots up to Zilchus and proudly displays his left side, then turns around and proudly displays his right side. Look how shiny I am, this side, and this side! You too, can have healthy shiny fur! Here's how. He prances about in the sand before throwing himself onto it wriggling and writhing, indulging in a sand bath. He stands, and shakes off the excess sand -- the bulk of it coating Zilchus. More cool than you would expect! Fluffs and smooths! It knocks parasites off too! You should put that jug aside and try it. It's quite refreshing! You too can feel like a puppy again!
What's wrong with you? Anubis snorts, catching a whiff of applejack. He gingerly mouths the desert boot on Zilchus's foot to be sure to avoid toes and other fleshy bits, and gently tugs at it. C'mon human. Food beckons! He tugs harder, trying to drag Zilchus back to refreshments.
Eventually, the promise of a meal and fresh water wins out, and Anubis trots back to find the others in Wati leaving Zilchus to his own devices. He takes one last look at Zilchus over his shoulder. Come join us soon. It's not good to be out here alone.
Knowing that she wasn't the only one makes the situation seem more bearable to Nidhi. After Stelle gets her bearings, Nidhi attempts to give hugs to both Annie, then Stelle, knowing firsthand what they suffered. Anubis becomes aware once more as his skin becomes pliable. What ... what happened ?!! It feels like I'm wearing heavy mud and I am drowning! Is it the river? WHERE'S THE EVIL CROCODILE?! Wait, this is sand! Anubis initially starts pawing in the air as if swimming, but quickly realizes he's on sandy ground. He instinctively shakes his body as if shedding excess water, a motion which is conveyed to Stelle who (up until this point) is still perched on his back. Stelle, motionless and frozen in her last pose, banner raised and mouth wide open in a silent yell, tips sideways off of Anubis and plunks to the ground in a cloud of dust and sand. And like that -- *POOF* -- they return to their glorious former organic selves. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!" Anubis howls, and -- though free of the burden of Stelle -- tail tucked, weakly hobbles over to Nidhi's outstretched arms. Whimpering, he buries his face in her cloak. OOooh! Mistress Nidhi! I have failed!
OH! Thanks the Halfling Lady for solid solid... natural... stone... ... Anubis whines, finding purchase on the pyramid floor. Holding his head and breath steady, his eyes dart from side to side suspiciously. But... the ground -- it still moves!"
Short before Zilchus comes back with the other teeth Kosei slowly falls to the pyramids floor, his air walk expired. As Anubis's air walk expires, he espies the floor gently coasting toward him. He bristles slightly and barks once. What do you think you're doing?!
His claws scramble to find purchase as he lowers his center of gravity to maintain his balance and accidentally charges nose first into the wall. Blushing and panting slightly, he cracks a wide grin and wags his tail. You can not sneak up on me, Floor. I have mastered you."

The cat starts to grow until it becomes Kosei once more ... As Kosei transforms from cat form to Kosei Form, Anubis's eyes grow wide, and he suddenly finds his tail tucked between his legs, hackles raised ever more. He rushes out to a sand dune to relieve himself. ... too much melon, yea...
Anubis tries to casually skirt past Bynx back at the group's quarters. He ends up curling up near the hearth, trying to ignore the fact that he smells like cucumber and chicken. It wasn't like that. He broods defensively at Bynx. There was some excitement around some stupid falafel cart and -- YES I HAD SOME MELON -- then there was this army of fowl, which was hardly worth batting an eyelash at... But that darn new -- creature like yourself -- eluded me. He snorts, lying down to pout with his head between his forepaws. Suddenly, Anubis catches the sent of baklava. On the afternoon he goes back with the others and stays among while they discuss ... He does devote to lick one of his paws for the baklava remains there while observing Bynx and Anubis-Ka with curiosity. Oh,... my. do you see what I see? HOW DOES HE JUST SHOW UP?! That little jerk is back! But where did he come from? Anubis stands, head lowered, hackles raised, and approaches Kosei the feline. Who are you, and did you bring enough to share!?
Anubis wanders over to Bynx, casting about somewhat furtively. Did you see that other creature like yourself just breeze through? He ... do we know him? Anubis trots off nose to ground, looking for a certain purple eyed black and grey striped cat decorated with a single white star on his chest.
Baklava... is that baklava over there? Anubis looks over at a Falafel cart briefly before regaining his focus.
Think he means 'boat' but if there *were* a magic butt, who do you think would wear it best? Anubis stares at the slurring Zilchus. "Boof." Why, Zilchass of course.
Anubis trots over to Zilchus as he proffers the egg to Florence, and sniffs at the egg. He snort-sneezes, then sniffs at Zilchus. Nope! No applejack involvement here. He makes a satisfied snort and trots back to his bedding.
Anubis Lvl 13: Bab +1
Before Stelle can look remorsefully over her shoulder at the dead sphinx she mutilated, Anubis, whining, bounds back into the previous chamber and up to the remains taking Stelle along. He sniffs and darts in circles at various body parts before bolting over to where Zilchus once lay dead himself, and starts digging over whatever remains of the broken Effigy. OH! Oh! I'm so sorry! What did we do? Why did this have to happen! OH I AM SUCH A BAD DOG! It looks as though Anubis is trying to hurl diamond dust past his rear end onto the dead sphinx.
"Of course we're not allowing him to die! He isn't allowed to die!" Anubis perks up his ears and cocks his head. What is that?! Sniffling?! Anubis, now free from Stelle, moves over to Nidhi and leans against her.
Anubis sighs. Time to give this up..., and retrieves the Effigy of Anubis (link) out from under his collar, hidden by his ruff. He trots over to where Zilchus once stood, and carefully places it on the ground. He then sits and looks at the group, grins, and wags his tail three times. Time for Zilchus to come back!
"Snuffle." Yah, I hope so. Kosei smells... fresh. The rest of this place... not so much.
Anubis lowers his head, hackles raised.
"I hope you do not hold a grieve to the Lion Prince..." At this, Anubis glances at Bynx. By any chance would this be a friend of yours?
"Maow?" Anubis wags his tail joyfully. 'Work'? What's that?!
Erm? Anubis lowers his head, charges the door and shoves it with his shoulder.
He backs up and does it again.
... and again.
Pausing from all the action, Anubis stops his tail rotation. "Whaaoah! Look Bynx! I'm like the Mighty Pegasus!" Anubis snuffles excitedly as he soars overhead bearing Stelle. He slowly starts to spin and drift in mid air like a giant lazy bumble bee.
Whoa! Whoa! Whoa!!! Anubis scrambles for his paws suddenly seem to no longer bear his weight. Do you see this Bynx?! Magic! Magic is green too! Oh my! Oh my! Oh my! Anubis starts to blush, then regains his composure as Stelle calms him. His tail wags so furiously however, he fishtails to one side -- than the other. Oh... Oh! I should stop the tail wag...
Anubis stops the tail wag, and starts moving his tail in a circular motion -- causing him to stabilize.
Anubis' eyes glow gold and his hackles bristle as he faces his winged opponent. "Why, green is the best attribute -- " Where did that little green guy go? I hope he's ok...
Meanwhile:
"Mryaow?" Aren't all dogs and cats green? ... Just a second, gotta go for now... Anubis feels Stelle encourage him to brace himself.
"Grrr!" Anubis charges. Meanwhile: "Maooow...""Sometimes we hang out in packs! What about lions? And they're just really *big* cats, you know!" Anubis grunts again. "Yeah, they collude to hunt, not to rescue. And it's just the girls, and probably only because the boys are lazy. I'm telling you -- it was probably just a bunch of green dwarf shepherd dogs that rescued that Prince."
Anubis snorts in the direction of Bynx. "He's got it all wrong. It had to be dogs! Since when do your kind hang out in packs?! Pigs will fly when cats will muster, and I just don't see it happening ever!"
A short corridor extends beyond the door, ending at a crackling sheet of lightning that blocks the end of the hallway. The smell of a summer storm fills the air, and the sizzling of the lightning makes normal conversation impossible near the barrier. "Ohohohohohooohoh!" Anubis whines, flattening his ears back against his head, wagging his tail furiously. It's wet earth, worms! Grass!. Anubis spins, both wanting to dive into the space and stay as far away as possible from the annoying sizzling noise.
Anubis chomps at the bit. rrrrrrrrr!" Pitbull-Ka! Let me at 'em!!!!!! rrrrrrrrr!"
