Shoony work for a canine/wolf ancestry about as much as Kobolds work for a dragon ancestry.
I don't disagree. A wolven ancestry would be sweet. But that doesn't mean Shoony aren't already in the game as a canine ancestry, which is what they were hoping for!

In other words, exceptionally well!

Not gonna lie, that was my exact thought when I read that, I'm perfectly happy with Kobolds as a Dragon Ancestry given their new art, we don't need another one.
Wait, Wyvaran come from Kobolds, so if we got them back in P2 we would have giant plushies.
Indeed, wyvaran are half kobolds and half wyverns, and truly dragons.
Perhaps, now that kobolds are more draconic in appearance and that wyverns are drakes, we could have wyvaran of all sorts of drake families.
I wasn't happy with how much wyvaran resembled the old kobolds from dnd, those akin to mammals instead of dragons. They have dog like snouts, and thats not draconic at all... 😅 But if they looked more like the new kobolds, I would be pleased with them. Specially if they also had heritages based on true dragons or drakes, as I said before.

Wyvaran are cool, though I've asked the friendly Trex about it in the past and found out he isn't really interested in using them, and that it would take someone else on the team pushing for them.
I do like them, though I do feel like they're a bit too similar to Dragonborn, built in wings and tail do help them quite a bit in terms of being distinct.

Super excited for this book. It definitely solidifies my desire to see a series of ncestry books that take deeps doves into the cultures and lifestyles of the various Ancestries within Golarion. I think a book covering maybe three Ancestries each, looking into their place in the game world and presenting new Ancestry options for gameplay would be amazing.

Hopefully they have additional stuff for the the ancestries in the Lost Omens PLayer guide.
If you mean the LO Character Guide, yes, they confirmed extra content for Leshy, Iruxi, and Hobgoblin. Also confirmed extra options for the APG ancestries and heritages too! :3

I kind of don't think there will be any more ancestries in this than have already been announced. I did a quick page count estimate, and came out to around 120 pages worth of material planned. But that estimate was based on a couple assumptions, like that there would be at least a page or two for previously released ancestries and heritages in this, that are not necessarily true. In fact I think they specifically said that was not going to be the case at some point, though I can't find the quote at the moment.

We're getting way closer to release for this, I wonder if Kitsune will have a humanoid form along the lines of Long Nosed Form-- humanish but with telltale signs of their actual heritage. It became an important part of my setting's tengu lore.
The sprite ancestry is risky. Because 1ed pathfinder was against player races that were too small because they could be super finicky and break the game. I want to see if they can pull it off for 2ed, but I half imagine it could fail.
Well, there hasn’t been any mechanical differences between sizes to the same degree as in PF1 - no bonuses to stealth, AC increases/decreases etc, just reach differences.
Gods I'm hoping for additional ancestry feats for Aasimar, Changelings, Dhampir, and Tieflings. I’d love to have additional ancestry feats for different types of Hag heritage for Changelings or to have an ancestry feat for Dhampir to allow transforming into a swarm of bat. Also would love to see ancestry feats for Agathion-blooded Aasimar (idyllkin) and Rakshasa-spawn Tiefling (beastbrood).
I think it was confirmed more like they showed example of android to artist and they used Meyanda's picture rather than that it was supposed to be Meyanda initially.
But yeah that is clearly iruxi, xulgaths are paler
I'm definitely looking forward to this book so that kitsune become available again! Plus, PF1 kitsune had a huge problem with needing to spend a bunch of feats to get all of the flavor of their species, and I think that things will work much better with the way PF2 handles their feats.
I'm hoping that there will be versatile heritages for half-dragons and half-kitsune. Half-dragons exist in the setting, so it would only make sense for a half-dragon heritage to exist. Also, since Kitsune are shapeshifters... it kind of makes sense that half kitsune would exist. Especially since there are half-kitsune in Japanese legends ;)
i agree with the comments from months ago that the geniekin name is misleading. Planar Scion (insert plane here) is far more applicable, and would, honestly, work to describe every planar influenced ancestry, and frankly, shouldn't be an 'ancestry' at all, but something that is added onto a material plane ancestry.

Man, by the end of this upcoming year, we're going to have a huge amount of ancestry content-- all the stuff in this ancestry guide, and all the stuff in the Mwangi Expanse book. This year is probably gonna at least double our racial options overall.
For those who were hyped for Gnolls, Anandi, and Grippli: they were all confirmed for the Mwangi Expanse Lost Omens release (along with a couple of others.)

Just tempering some expectations: the core ancestries (dwarf, elf, gnome, goblin, halfing, human) are not getting any new feats in this book, regardless of ethnicity or heritage. The book is instead focused on expanding the uncommon and rare ancestries that showed up in the APG and other Lost Omens books so far. We're sure the core ancestries will get lots of support in future books, so we wanted to shine the spotlight on the non-core ancestries for just a bit.

Makes me more excited, actually, since those (and new ancestries altogether) are the ancestries that really need attention.
