The Age of Lost Omens is filled with people of all types, including more than just those of common ancestries. Lost Omens Ancestry Guide places the spotlight on the uncommon and rare ancestries of the Inner Sea (like geniekin, androids, kitsune, sprites, and more!), providing information on their cultures and place in the world. The book also expands on the rules options for these ancestries and versatile heritages. Finally, Lost Omens Ancestry Guide also features new ancestries and versatile heritages including some that are brand new, as well as old favorites from throughout Golarion!

One of the best in the catalogue

5/5

I finally got around to buying my own copy today, but I've loved this book since release! Giving some oddball Ancestries a chance to shine (my beloved Androids!) with not only interesting rules, but phenomenal writeups of their varied ethnic groups and cultures. I'd gladly buy a second Ancestry Guide if it hit on some of my more esoteric favs - Lashunta, Minotaurs, Wyrwoods - with similar care here.

I can't praise the art enough, either.

5/5

An excellent book full of a bevy of options for all the previously released ancestries as well as tons of new ancestry and versatile heritage options. As standard for Lost Omens books it's also accompanied by a bevy of details and lore for all the folks of the Inner Sea and beyond. A very excellent book for anyone who wants to break out of the Core Rulebook options. I think some of my favorite additions are the geniekin heritages. Being able to have a touch of elemental power on any of your favorite ancestries is so much fun. The available variety is incredible.

5/5

This book definitely helps enrich Golarion with more unique demihuman races. I only wish a few more races were covered. Such as minotaurs, caligni, munavri, rougarou, nagaji, vishkanya. But, it's still good!

I too am super excited and can't wait for that 'in your downloads' link to appear. I was a fan of Pathfinder from the start but the ARG was the book that made me dive full on into Golorian.

Not gonna spoil it here, but there is a guy on PF2 discord that got his PDF and is spilling a lot of beans, like what the last heritage is.

That spoiler has to get out soon, as it is most likely a single word.

Why not?

Probably because he is being considerate of Luis Loza's plan to spill it tonight on the live Know Direction Twitch stream podcast interview.

I know what it is, too because I happened to be on the discord when it got revealed almost accidentally. But, I won't spoil it for the same reason.

It is a single word. At least it was the way that I saw it was typed in the Discord.

It is pretty wild, all things considered, I think people will be very happy with it.

Big fan of Luis Loza, but I won't watch that podcast.

I can't fathom why Paizo people keep appearing there, considering how much Costello hates 2e.

'Cause Costello isn't the only person at KD, and the KD folks have helped out a lot in the past, especially last year with the online PaizoCon and GenCon organizational proceedings were mostly by KD on Discord.

Kinda rude to throw away all of that good faith because one person dislikes a system.

I don't get the impression he hates it. He just seems really particular about certain aspects of it

Does anyone know when the podcast starts? I'm interested in hearing what the last heritage is, but can't find the start time anywhere.

Which Kitsune heritage would give the most anime fox girl/boy option for a natural form?

*Looks around* What? I'm an anime fan and would like to know.

I have seen it asked a lot elsewhere, but have not yet seen anyone answer this...

What are the Sprite Heritages?

For that matter, I am curious to know the names of the all the non-Versatile Heritages for the old ancestries, as well as the new ancestries.

The ones I have learned so far today, are:

Fetchling Heritages: Bright, Deep, Liminal, Resolute, Wisp

Fleshwarp Heritages: Created, Mutated, Shapewrought, Technological

The ancestries of the Android, Azarketi, Catfolk, Hobgoblin, Kitsune, Kobold, Leshy, Lizardfolk, Orc, Ratfolk, Sprite, Strix, and Tengu have not yet had any of the heritages premiering in this book spoiled anywhere yet that I can locate.

Also, my son is dying to know what Kobold weapons are in this book; can you tell us that? Thanks.

Not in the way you want but with some fluff you could pretend that is the case.

Do you mean that their natural form is Human looking like spice and wolf? Or that they can become a fox?

Draxie, Grig, Luminous Sprite, Melixie, Nyktera and Sprite

Are there any new Planar Scion feats that allow you to take a Lineage feat and a natural weapon feat eventually, so that I don't have to only pick one or the other at 1st level?

Yes like Spice and Wolf.

Than I would say Celestial Envoy Kitsune as their alternative form(tail less) is that of a common medium humanoid usually human.

Edit:At second glance all but two of the heritages are like this and you may be more interested in one of their 5th level feats Hybrid form.

Yes. Other than the base rules that tiny creatures have 0ft reach there is a new rule that allows a tiny pc to ride a small or medium pc and have each of them have only two actions a round as the 3rd action is used to not knock off the rider and for the rider to hild their grip or balance on the friend.

Awesome! Thanks again for sharing with us. :)

As long as you are willing, would you care to list the other heritages introduced LOAG that we haven't heard about yet (i.e. Azarketi, Catfolk, Hobgoblin, Lizardfolk, Orc, Ratfolk, and Strix)?

Also, my son is dying to know what Kobold weapons are in this book; can you tell us that, too, please?

For the most important question, is there anything you think is really cool or important that you would like to share with us that none of us have asked about?

Thanks.

There is a paragraph about rarity(nothing new)

A paragraph about flying PC's (not so much a rule as a suggestion for a varient rule)

And a small (3 or so pages) of racial equipment.

Gonna give a bit more time before listing the rest of the heritages outright for a moment.

I am a bit sad on the Kobold weapons, they are cool but not the tail weapons I was hoping for. Fangwire(kind of a garrote) and a Trickypick kind of an all purpose murder-pick.

I was most excited for Android(Big Iron gods fan) and Sylph(I just like em) which both are cool but my favorite thing so far has to be the 1st level Sprite feat Corgi Mount

Corgi Mount?! Oh man I hope my PDF ships soon

Is there a way to get all the tails of the kitsune?

Okuru wrote:

I believe it's based either on the highest level of spell slot you have, or the number of kitsune feats you took up (whichever one is greater, maximum of 9 tails).

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber
Okuru wrote:

Yes there are 3 methods.

1. 1 tail for each level of spells you can cast as a spell caster.

2. Same as 1 but relating to the spell level of non-cantrip innate spells gained through ancestry feats.

3. 1+ the number of Kitsune ancestry feats.

Capping at 9.

What does the Oread heritage get? I caught all the other Gensai on the steam, but missed that one.

Lame. I was disappointed to see Sylphs and Suli get the same. At least Undine and Ifrit get a bit different, along with Beastkin and Ganzi (the stream was up a bit ago so I don't feel bound to stay quiet).

Actually I don't think I caught Aphorite either.
