    For the Bonded animal, the Roc that you tell about is really fun and of course I'm interested in taking it as bonded animal now. I thought about the smilodon to take something on my level. When I'm talking about that feat with people they don't see the problem at all even if I previously told them what can occur.

    You don't have to, but you can certainly keep doing so.

    Re: The question about how the mechanics work, I will point out that although crits 'usually' double, that is in the context of failures generating 'nil' success, and critical failures costing you points.

    The way this 'Rebuild' sub-game works, it is 1.5x(man-days) on a crit success, 1.0x on a success, 0.5x on a failure, and 0 on a crit-failure...

    A question which occurs with somebody else with who I'm playing sometimes:

    If we put 3 points in a school of the pathfinder training, can we select two items at the beginning of an adventure AND a lore at lvl 1 AND a skill feat at lvl 5? Or only 2 items for each adventure?

    One point in each school would allow you to select your one free consumable from any of the lists. But you still get only one free item.

    I can see three solid choices for point allocation.

    1) field commission (if you craft)

    2) three points in one school (for the most benefits)

    3) one point in spells (to get access to a free scroll each session) and two points in scrolls or swords (because you like those lore and feat options better than going all three into spells)

    It's just "helpful" to you (and not the rest of the party), which means it's easier to Command. "You must spend as many actions on Command an Animal as the activity’s number of actions", so whereas a Minion can make 2 Strikes when you command it, an animal can only make 1.

    Also, looking through the Rules Forum, there seems to be the odd circumstance of your animal being Frightened in combat. Some people say that's only in the case of Horses, but it's unclear (and admittedly would be weird to rule that a Roc was scared of, say, a trio of Goblins...)

    What an ambiguous feat.

    I know that I've to spend how many actions I want the animal to have.

    For the frightened condition, there is nothing said in the CRB (p. 249 and p. 259). So I don't understand the reason why, except perhaps if I would fail my command check (Failure: the animal is hesitant or resistant, and it does nothing.) Otherwise he performs the action if he knows it.

    I think Bonded Animal is a poorly-worded feat that is ripe for abuse, and the only way for it to be changed will be to show the Powers That Be just how broken it can be.

    Consequently, I have no issues with the Roc.

    ((I think that the feat could be 'fixed' by limiting it to only work on animals of your level or less, and/or animals that you encounter in character, but until we get a FAQ or errata nerfing it, go nuts.))
