I did the math wrong and Gedrim is actually still level 2. He will jump to 4 after one more full scenario, but alas he is not 3 yet.
I'm going to sit out of this quest, but would very much like to jump back in with you after the quest finishes.

![]() |

Right? I saw your comments.
Someone in one of the threads thought these Boons were going to be "unlocked" on your profile when the game gets reported. Sort of another encouragement to report games. And then you just download the Boon.
But if Paizo's main complaint is that they're running out of ideas and it takes too much effort to invent new Boons, I don't know how moving Boons to being downloadable changes that.
I'll we'll just have to wait and see.

As Ukh is now lvl 5, I can play his brother Okh a sorcerer lvl 3 or a barbarian lvl 2 or a monk lvl 2.

![]() |

I think with Dranald and Jasariel being frontline you can probably play anything you want. After Gruvok levels out of the 1-4 Tier I have a Level 2 Cleric/Druid and will soon have a Level 2 Longbow Ranger. Or if we need a frontline by then I have a 0xp "Wereshark" Barbarian ^_^

GM (and others who GM pfs2), how do you handle what to give on Recall Knowledge Checks?
PFS1 doled out a single tidbit per success and extra tidbits for +5 over DC and I've seen a ton of different ways GM's tend to manage that.
__________________________________
Obviously PFS2 does things slightly different, simply providing the following:
Success You recall the knowledge accurately or gain a useful clue about your current situation.
and
Critical Success You recall the knowledge accurately and gain additional information or context.
__________________________________
I'm trying to figure out if I need to ask for specific enemy details when doing a recall knowledge check (that happened a lot in pfs1). I'm also trying to figure out how to handle recall knowledge checks in my own games. I'm currently leaning towards a Success = ID plus signature 'something' & Crit Success = ID + everything.

GM Nefreet |

Recalling Knowledge is not very helpful in this Edition (IMO).
In PF1, I reasoned long ago that limiting the "bits" of information to just 5 (Basics/Defenses/Offenses/Abilities/Vulnerabilities) rewarded characters who invested in Knowledge. You needed to exceed the DC by 20 to learn everything, and that was very possible to do.
In PF2, you generally need to spend an action, and Crit Fails are always possible, no matter how much you invest. If you succeed, you get the creature's "Iconic" ability (I believe somewhere in the CRB the example was a troll's regeneration), which isn't all that helpful if it's "iconic"; you probably already knew that.
Only if you Crit Succeed do you learn what you wanted, and even then, you can't learn more unless you Crit Succeed again. As soon as you fail, you're done. Right now there are some feats and a Cleric Focus Spell that can mitigate the chance of failure, but for now I'm not sure it's worth investing in.
Which sucks, because finding out information is inherent to storytelling. If I created a unique boss monster, I don't want the only knowledge you find out about it to be that it has a slam and a bite; I want to reward you for learning about it, and also show off my cool story.

![]() |

Ah, I found that part in the CRB now. Ugh, you are correct about how limited Recall Knowledge is. It isn't a complete waste if I sorta have the action to burn, but is a lot weaker than I hoped.

One of the scenarios I ran actually listed on the enemy's page(s) a break down. "Critical Success grants this information" type of stuff.
However, the other ones did not.

Alright, posting this in all my games. A tree company came out yesterday to grind a stump and cut our internet cable. The earliest the cable company can make it is the 20th, so if I am holding the group up please bot me. If I’m your GM, I’m really sorry! Play will resume when I get the net back.
It is possible I’ll get small windows online to make posts now and then, if so I’ll see you all online. Thanks for understanding.

![]() |

Sorry I’m on the phone and don’t have much time. I would say the cat bites again and the dwarf casts an electric arc or a haste upon Thorax or Bair. Don’t forget the 4d6 on the musician. Excuse me

![]() |

Oh wow, that is a really weird little glitch there with the Challenge Points. All the stars aligned for that one. Still, after adjusting for 6 players and giving the enemies a level bump, I expect it may still cause us some trouble.
Of course all of that also assumes no one leveled to 8 after our last session.

Thorax Toothlicker |

It's weird that Thorax is ahead, since I went Slow Track with him for a while, but I guess he did start at 3rd Level from Playtest Points.
After the Chronicle for Grim Symphony he will have 81xp, which means he'll be Level 8 in time for the Season 2 Special.
Assuming that can still be a thing. I don't know when it's being offered online next. GameDay IX doesn't have it.

Yeah, if something happens to the Roc, given that it is tougher than Thorax and Bair combined, then the rest of the party is probably already dead...
The good news is, it basically allows you to skip 80% of the next scenario, which is a primarily outdoors scenario.
Overland travel / difficult terrain?
Not a problem when flying 4x faster than you could walk.
Large animals?
Even if they could fly, not stupid enough to attack something that could easily swallow them whole.
Navigational hazards?
Not a problem when flying.
Random Bandits?
Not insane enough to attack.
You get the general idea :-P
----------------------------
Of course, it is only really good for this kind of scenario - city / infiltration / dungeon scenarios pretty much exclude it, based on its size ;-)
